God would turn his face and say, no. I'll tell you something. Wait for politicians to deal with the problem. You won't have a country left. And further, you won't have a world left just now, Christians.

John Hyde and the Discipline of Intercessory Prayer

...hanging over America and nobody's going to stop it except interceding people, except people who would rather die than live like this. And then he said John Hyde began to pray. And then there was a knock on the door.

And he said, I said to myself, listen, nobody's stopping this prayer meeting with me. This is once in a lifetime. I'm not going to the door. A little while after, a knock at the door. A little while after, a knock at the door.

So he went. And he was going to the door, somebody, a man. And he said, Brother Hyde, I came in this room a quarter, a quarter to eleven, a quarter to twelve, a quarter to one, a quarter to two, a quarter to three, six hours.

Desperation for Revival in the Presence of God

You see, when you, when you get lost in the presence of God, ecstasy, or whether it's the grief, God give us revival or we die. God give us revival or we die.

I would make one suggestion. See to it that your knees are bleeding.

Costly Prayer and Spiritual Burden

There was one man, twenty hours at a stretch in the side room, or five hours. These two guys would take off their coats. We'd been out in the street at midday, twelve o 'clock. We'd had street meetings at midnight.

We'd come in and they'd say, I've got a burden. Okay, that meant we prayed. So we'd get down to pray. And those fellows would pray till two or three in the morning, take their coats off, until their shirts were sticking to their backs.

And they really prayed. And I thought, well, if she says to one of you, pray, boy, I'm going to say him or him, not me for sure. Instead of that, she prayed. She knelt at the side of a table. It had no cloth on it.

It wasn't polished. And she knelt. And I looked at this woman with horrible features, very rough skin. And as I say, boy, once she opened her mouth, the glory of God filled out. I've prayed with many men around the world.

But that woman's so moody. I knew it wasn't a show. She wasn't putting little phrases together. She wasn't painting stained glass windows. She was praying out of travail for those who are lost, those without God, those without hope.

The wrath of God abides over them. It's not just a danger they have of going to hell. The wrath of God is on them. And if life snaps, they're going to a lost eternity.

I would make one suggestion. See to it that your knees are bleeding.

Two Girls’ Prayer for Their Lost Family

He said, I've never seen him in her life, and he'd never seen her. She said, Mr., you cannot help me. There's a man by the name of Duncan Campbell in people. And I want Duncan Campbell to come down here to the village.

My father is lost, and my uncle is lost. And I want God to come. Duncan Campbell will change his program and come to our little village. And he said, you've been praying. Who's we? Oh, me and Jenny. How old are you?

Seventeen. How old is Jenny? Sixteen. How long did you pray? It's the bottom. They're going to burn forever and never be consumed. We don't preach about hell anymore. It's not fashionable. But God hasn't changed his mind.

I'll tell you what. Men have changed their opinion about God, but God hasn't changed his opinion about men. And he held his girl and wept. And Duncan said, I stood there so embarrassed. He said, I pulled my scarf down and said, Lassie, look.

And he pulled the scarf down, look, and he had his clerical collar. He said, look, I am Duncan Campbell. He put a hand up and began to weep. Remember, there's no audience. You're a covenant-keeping God.

You're a covenant-keeping God. So Duncan went down to the village, and he preached. The Father God saved. This woman had done the travailing, and she didn't understand why other people could just not be moved.

Revival as a Matter of Spiritual Survival

When what you eat doesn't matter too much, when how you sleep doesn't matter too much. When it comes to this, God give us revival or we die. Judgment hanging over America, and nobody's going to stop it except interceding people, except people who'd rather die than live like this.
