Spinning Sin
Spin has slipped into the church everywhere as to trying to not offend anyone. The theological backbone of sin has been lost in the spinning of sin. But, we have a greater Savior than our sin! We don't do ourselves any favors if we minimize the doctrine of sin.
Is "sin" a politically incorrect word? No, we need to recover the doctrine of sin, understanding God's standard, His Holiness.
"Sin is an actual fact." - John Stott
"Sin is cosmic treason" - R.C. Sproul
Without understanding sin, how do we know what we need to be saved from? Or why we need a Savior?
If you have a moralistic, theistic preaching, where sin is not preached, there is no need for the gospel.
All unbelievers are slaves to sin, and not the so-called modern evangelical definition of "sin"; lack of self-esteem. If you don't realize you are sinner, and you don't realize you have a disease called sin, you will never realize your need of a cure, a Savior, Jesus Christ.
