Critique of the Gospel Coalition’s Racial Blindness Statement

Well, right, so I logged on to the gospel coalition website this morning as I never do but I wanted to do it today for Reasons that will remain unsaid. But it certainly does look like the gospel coalition was prepared for the statement on social justice that is coming out today.

Look at how this looks they've completely taken over their their their their main page for this article from rap Godzilla .com why David Platt and Ligon Duncan repented for racial blindness now the question here is What is racial blindness now?

Here's the reality. So so so again gospel coalition was prepared for the statement that's coming out this week. There's nothing wrong with that. I welcome the challenge. But let's just get this one thing straight gospel coalition council.

This isn't gonna cut it. This isn't gonna cut it. This is amateur hour. Let me let me just let me just click this here. So this is August 20th the same state that the statement comes out. It might be already out by the time this video is posted.

Anyway, this is an article about the conferences that I actually covered and actually I'll put a link to the playlist for David Platt responses because I've Responded at length to David Platt's presentation.

I didn't respond at length to Ligon Duncan's only to like the main part. But this is the part that I actually did respond to and this is an article again from rap Zilla .com where it talks about how Ligon Duncan has repented from racial blindness now.

Emotional Manipulation Versus Biblical Definition

The reason why I say this kind of stuff isn't gonna cut it is because most people are smart and we know what you're doing. Here, this is an attempt to emotionally manipulate us because if you remember Ligon Duncan got real emotional.

He said. And he crying. Oh, I think it was fake crying. But I'm not gonna say that definitively because he recovers from it right away when I cry as a man I don't recover from it right away. It takes me a bit.

So he composed himself instantly and was it was instantly on crying. But he says that he were he repents from three decades of racial blindness. Now. What is the sin of racial blindness? This is why it's not gonna cut it.

We have to define these terms biblically is racial blindness a sin. I Mean, I'm asking that as a serious question. Is that a sin? I don't even understand what it means. Because here's the reality Ligon Duncan if you're repenting of three decades of racism I think it's time to take a step back from your ministry if you're gonna be woke.

You gotta go all the way woke and here's the reality if you've been a racist for 30 years and you're just now recovering I think maybe you should take a little bit of time to reconsider your whole theology.

How did how did your theology allow you to be racist for 30 years now? I don't think Ligon Duncan is repenting from racism. I don't think he was a racist. I don't think he had any animosity towards black people.

David Platt, Racial Blindness, and the Need for Chapter and Verse

It's the same thing with David Platt. This article goes in to talk about David Platt's journey. And this is one of his famous quotes. I look at my life and ministry and in so many ways my world has been so white.

Brother, is that a sin? Because I'm gonna need chapter and verse on both of these. I'm gonna need chapter and verse on racial blindness being a sin and a chapter and verse on how white your world is. Being a sin because I don't think you can do it and this is not gonna cut it.

You know if you're gonna respond to the statement on social justice, I know you haven't seen it yet. So I'm not not criticizing you for not responding to it, but it's gonna have to be a step above this kind of stuff.

This is what we've been asking for this whole time. Biblical war we need chapter and verse. Biblical applications direct biblical applications and this is gonna take some work. It's gonna take some exegesis so we can start discussing does the Bible really say what you're saying?

But these emotional manipulations. This this is not gonna cut it. Most people don't fall for this kind of stuff and and the reality is again I think what you're repenting of here is not being woke and now you are woke and you're repenting of not being woke for 30 Years and the reality is being woke is not a sin or not being woke is not a sin either.

And so we need to talk about the biblical foundations of all of this stuff wokeness racial blindness. Your world being so white we need to talk about the biblical foundations of this. And I think I know why you don't want to talk about it because it isn't there.

And so this article guys. Why David Platt and Lincoln Duncan repented from racial blindness this kind of stuff? You can make this banner as big as you want. You can have the greatest graphics you want.

You can have a huge platform. None of it is gonna cut it when we're taking you to the scriptures and say show me here. I'm a simple man. I believe everything you say David Platt and Lincoln Duncan if you could just show me in this scripture.

And you haven't done so and these emotional manipulations aren't gonna work now, I'm gonna say this very clearly I want this to be very clear. I do not repent of racial blindness number one I don't even know what it is.

And number two, I know it's not a sin, right? The other thing is I do not repent of racism because I'm not racist. And so I don't encourage anybody to repent of things that they aren't doing and I don't think you're doing it either.

Call for Accountability and a Final Challenge

But if you are I call upon you to step down from your ministry, you know. Put your money where your mouth is if you benefit Ligon and and and dr Duncan and and and and I don't know if he's a doctor but David Platt.

If you have been bigoted and racist for 30 years and you've benefited from your in your in your platforms. For 30 years that I asked you to step down right now. If that's if that was unjust for you to have the platforms that you have.

Step down right now because if you want to go woke you better go all the way. Otherwise, I don't know. Are you a bigot now that this statement is out. You guys need to step your game up. Let's do it. Let's talk.
