Who is Catherine Crick and what are some things Christians need to be aware of? How can we know whether someone is an apostle or not? And why should you be concerned when a teacher starts telling you to sow a seed?

Thank you, Becky, who is not along with me this week, but she sends you her love. Let me begin by reading from Psalm 147. Praise the Lord, for it is good to sing praises to our God, for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.

And what a fitting reminder that is, that we would sing praise to God. Certainly, he is worthy of our worship, but it is good for us that we sing with gratitude unto the Lord. I'll come back to that thought.

Let me keep going. Verse 2. The Lord builds up Jerusalem. He gathers the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars. He gives to all of them their names.

Great is our Lord and abundant in power. His understanding is beyond measure. The Lord lifts up the humble. He casts the wicked to the ground. Also a good reminder to be humble. And what can we do? What is an exercise in our worship that will keep us humble?

Well, the next verse, I think, gives us that. Verse 7. Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving. Being thankful unto God, expressing our gratitude to him, whether that's in your prayers or you sing praise to God.

It keeps us humble when we thank the Lord for all the good things that he has given to us, knowing that we have done nothing to deserve it. But it is because God is merciful to us. He is gracious to us that he gives us all good things, especially his son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for us and rose again from the dead so that whoever believes in him, we will not perish under the judgment of God.

But in fact, we've been made fellow heirs with Christ of his eternal kingdom. All the things that we could acquire here on this earth will eventually pass away. That's also a good thing to remember that keeps us humble.

No matter how much stuff you have, no matter how much attention that you gain for yourself or even popularity that you have, all of that's going to disappear. What remains forever is what we have in Christ.

Give praise to God, humble yourself before the Lord, and at the proper time, he will exalt you. As said by James and Peter, we find that statement in both of those books. It is good to sing praises to our God.

The Listener Question About Kathryn Crick

As for the questions that we have today, I've got one voicemail and one email because I think this email is going to take up the majority of the time. As you heard in the introduction and you probably saw from the title of the program already, we're going to be responding to the false teacher, Catherine Crick, who is very, very popular online across just about every social media platform.

I have had questions about her before. I'm working on a video and haven't finished it yet, but we can at least address some things here in the podcast episode about this false teacher who fancies herself an apostle.

She plasters that on everything. She is Apostle Catherine Crick. So we will address some of those problems with her teaching here in just a moment. But first, let me get to a voicemail that has to do with a question that we addressed last week.

There was a fellow who had sent an email and had said that he was married to a woman who was an unbeliever. And what does the Bible say about that? And to hear my answer, you can go back and listen to last week's episode.

But David sent a voicemail and had a message of comfort for that man. Here is this voicemail from David. Hello, Gabe and Becky.

My name is David. I'm from Glendale. And I just wanted to make a comment reference. The gentleman that wrote in last week about his unbelieving wife and whether he should stay with her. I don't think that was exactly his question.

But basically, he was uneasy about it. And all I want to say to him to encourage him was my wife and I were in that similar situation and I'm not sure if she was a believer or not, because we didn't meet at a seeker sensitive church.

But once I started going to reform church, she thought I had joined some sort of cult or something. And she did not go with me. And there was a lot of dissension in her home. But eventually she started listening to the online sermons just to see what it was all about to prove me wrong.

And eventually the Lord used that to bring her to church with me. And we've been going there together ever since for the last three years. So the Lord can do those things if you're faithful and can bring your wife to salvation.

Not saying he will, because I don't know what his will is, but just wanted to send some encouragement. Thank you. And just thank you guys for everything you do.

Praise God for that, David. And thank you so much for sending a voicemail to pass on to somebody else whose question that we responded to on the program. That was very kind of you to do that. And I just caught I listened to your voicemail earlier, but I only just caught it this time playing it that you said you're from Glendale.

I'm guessing Glendale, Arizona. So just like right up the road from us. So I thank you so much for listening and once again for sending that voicemail and praise the Lord for how God worked in your wife's life.

Just listening to the word and coming to the faith. That is an amazing blessing. Of course, that is the power of the word of God. As said in Romans 10, 17, faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ.

I had shared with my church just recently, because we've been talking about spiritual gifts. We've been going through Romans chapter 12. And I said, there are men out there who do not have as great a voice as I have.

Like I've got the radio voice, right? But there's plenty of preachers out there that don't have this voice and yet have had the privilege of seeing many more people come to Christ through what they preach.

Then, then I have seen that's God working through the power of the word of God that is preached, not the voice of the person preaching it. It's not the most convincing person preaching that makes the most disciples or brings the most number of people into the kingdom of God.

No, it's preaching the word and the Holy Spirit will do the work through the preaching of the word to change the heart and bring them to the Lord. So I know David, you saw that happen in the life of your wife and you, for everybody else, there's probably somebody you're praying for that they would come to a knowledge of the truth and put their trust in Jesus Christ and be forgiven their sins and be saved.

And that comes through sharing the word. We need to share the gospel and inform people of who Jesus is and what he has done, dying on the cross and rising again from the grave, helping them to see even their sin, recognizing that they have sinned against God and they're under the judgment of God because unless they know that they're not going to be looking at Jesus as their savior.

But all of this works through the teaching of the word. You don't have to be a pastor on a platform. You don't have to have a podcast, but knowing the word of God and sharing it with those in your life who need to hear it because through the hearing of the word, they will come to faith in Jesus.

You don't have to quote it verbatim. You know, you get the basic gospel points in there and the Holy Spirit will work through that to transform the heart and the mind in Christ. Praise the Lord once again for that.

Five Problems With Catherine Crick

Let's go on to this question that I have here concerning the false teacher, Catherine Crick. I did say Catherine Crick earlier, not Catherine Coleman, right? I hope so. I've already done that a couple of times.

Catherine Coleman was a false teacher as well, but she's passed away. This is Catherine Crick, who is just all over social media. And as I mentioned, fancies herself an apostle. This is an email from Angie.

She says, hello, Pastor Gabe. I sure hope you and your precious family are doing well. I sure do miss y 'all down here in Texas though. I'm Facebook friends with Becky and occasionally see Annie the Beautiful and others.

Annie is our oldest daughter who just graduated high school in May. And Becky will hashtag certain memories in the kids' lives. And the stuff that comes from Annie is Annie the Beautiful. So that's what Angie's referring to there.

My, they are all growing up so fast. Yes, they are. Annie is nearly my height. I don't know that she's going to grow anymore. She's about 5 '10", I think, and I'm six foot. So she's got nearly up to my height.

So going on. So glad to hear of you starting your own church. Well, we didn't. We didn't start this church. This church has been around for almost 10 years. Coming up this October will be 10 years for Providence Reformed Baptist Church.

But it has been a blessing to be here and be with this congregation. I'm just watering what somebody else planted. That is so wonderful. And your flock is beyond blessed to have you. Thank you, Angie.

So I had an idea, as well as just wanting to know your thoughts on Catherine Crick. I'm sure you may have heard about this self-appointed apostle. If not, you can easily find her online and her huge church following in L .A.

So in your what series, I thought you could weigh in. It seems to me she is a false prophet and people are being deceived. However, I know some well-meaning Christians who oppose that sentiment and say that she is the Lord's anointed.

It seems to be a big viral debate since she's recently been in Texas signing her books and there are videos of people meeting her, dropping into convulsions and being delivered, healed, etc. I did see that video.

I can't play that video, though, because you can't see that video. But I did see it. I just pulled it up, actually, as part of the different clips that I was going to use for this particular episode. But I don't think there's any audio to use there except music, which would probably earn me a copyright strike.

But yeah, they're coming up to Catherine Coleman, who was in Texas recently, doing a book signing. And as she's signing their books, they're doing this thing where they're falling over and flopping on the floor.

The stuff that you've seen from Pentecostal slash charismatic churches where they claim to be slain in the spirit, so they fall down. If I was at a book signing and somebody came up to me to get their book signed and they fell on the floor and started flopping, I would assume they're having a seizure.

That's what I would think would be happening. But all of this is an act, and some of it is even staged. And I'm going to talk about that here in just a moment as we go on. So Angie says, not sure you'd even want to entertain giving it any airtime, but I think it would garner a lot of interest, including from me.

Grateful for your ministry. I thank you so much for sending that, Angie. Yeah, you know, I have actually delayed in doing a video on Catherine Crick because there's really a lot out there. There's a lot out there.

So Mike Winger has done a video. Justin Peters has done stuff exposing Catherine Crick. And I happened to catch while I was pulling up links for this podcast that Allie Beth Stuckey just did one like a day or two ago.

She did an hour long program just exposing some of the gimmicks that Catherine Crick will use. So there's a lot of stuff out there on this gal because she's immensely popular, especially on social media.

This is this is how she's gained her following because of the guy that anointed her an apostle in Africa. We'll talk about him here in a minute. And then also through social media, TikTok videos, YouTube and otherwise.

She has really managed to use social media to build up her following and her YouTube channel. I noticed the YouTube channel alone has over a million followers on it. And by comparison, I looked up Mike Winger's channel and he's got a million followers.

Catherine Crick has a little bit more than Mike Winger has. So she has she's developed this this following using clips of people getting released from demons. That's like the most popular stuff I think that she'll post.

Not really her teaching as much, though her teaching is really popular, too, hence writing the book and people going to her book signing. But it's the it's the deliverance ministry is what they call it in charismatic circles, the deliverance ministry of the casting out demons and the clips of that that have gone viral and have made her really, really popular.

I'll even play some examples of that here. You won't be able to see them, of course. You'll hear a little bit of it and what Catherine Crick says while they're flopping around on the ground. But but these are the things that have made her so very popular.

Social media is a great tool, but it's it's led to a lot of false teaching as well and has created platforms that false teachers can use to gain a significant following. So I'm going to give you five problems with Catherine Crick.

Catherine Crick as a Self-Proclaimed Apostle

That's that's how I'm going to organize this here as we go through these different things about this woman. First of all. So let's start with the first one here. First, Catherine Crick is a self-proclaimed apostle to find her YouTube channel.

You just look for Apostle Catherine Crick, and that's the name of the channel. She like I said, plasters it on everything that she does. I think there's even a banner on one of her sites, Apostle Catherine Crick.

She is the lead pastor. There's a problem already, as we've talked about many times out of First Timothy to 11 and 12. Women cannot be pastors, but she's the lead pastor of Fivefold Church in Los Angeles.

Claims to operate in supernatural healing and deliverance. She casts out demons and she performs or claims at least that she's performing many other miracles in her services. This is one of the most popular videos of hers that I found on YouTube.

It's a short, you know, the YouTube shorts, which they do the vertical video and it has millions of views on this where she does a deliverance in just this short. Now I'm going to give you a warning here in case you're wearing headphones or earbuds.

I'm going to play this and a woman is going to scream and it's pretty high pitched. So understand that I'm giving you that warning, but I think it pretty well illustrates the craziness of what you can expect from some sort of Catherine Crick gathering.

I speak healing to lungs, to every problem with a lung issue, praise God. Every spirit of infirmity, bringing sickness in her lungs. I declare on three, all must leave her in Jesus name, one, two, three.

Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah. I release this anointing and I declare you to move forward in your life now and be used mightily by God. Every spirit that makes him get sick many times, every spirit that has come from through abuse.

I declare all must leave on three in Jesus name. One, two, three. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah.

God has freed you. Hallelujah. All right. So yeah, you get the idea. That was, that was three healings that kind of took place there in, uh, in that one short clip, millions of views on that clip of her doing that.

And she's of course not the first person to do that. We've seen the same sort of stuff come from Ken Copeland and Benny Hinn. Uh, Joyce Meyer used to do it before she became more of a, uh, a, a self-help guru, uh, a motivational speaker, but she used to be way more into this, just like what Catherine Crick is doing here.

So you've seen this many times and you can pull up any charismatic video and see this happening. This is the kind of stuff that she is doing and these are the videos that have gained her such a following.

Now again, claiming to be an apostle, this immediately, as I've said to my own church, any church that I've pastored and I've talked about this, I have said this. If somebody calls themselves an apostle, that is an immediate red flag.

It's, it's an immediate, no, you're not like, like you already know they're a false teacher because they have said that they are an apostle. The apostles of Christ, as we read about them in the new Testament had to have seen the risen Christ.

They were personally appointed as apostles by Christ and they perform signs and wonders demonstrating that they were apostles of Christ. In second Corinthians 12, 12 Paul said to the Corinthians, the signs of apostleship were clearly displayed among you.

So there should be no doubt in the minds of the Corinthians who's an apostle and who was not because the signs were present before them and those signs, including miraculous healing, which by the way, Catherine Crick has never done.

None of these self-styled apostles have ever done anything like this. They have never healed anyone. I guess we've been going through the book of Acts right now, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday on the podcast.

We have been reading about those miracles that the apostles do when Peter and John healed the man outside the beautiful gate. The Pharisees could not dispute what they did because that man was standing right there with them.

There was no way that they could say, well, this man wasn't really healed. You could not deny the miracle when the man who was lame in his feet was standing right there with Peter and John, all the crowd saw it and they knew that it was Peter and John who healed this man.

And they knew the man who would sit outside the beautiful gate and would beg day after day after day and had done so for years. His legs had never been usable and here he was dancing and praising God in the temple and standing with Peter and John.

There was no denying that an actual miracle had occurred. But with many of these charismatic healers, you can't ever verify that any of the things that they claim are miracles have actually been a miraculous healing.

And this is something that I've talked about recently with my church. As I said, in Romans 12, we've been going through spiritual gifts. And when we talked about those more miraculous spiritual gifts, I said, it's really quite plain that the apostolic sign gifts are not in regular use in the world today.

It's evident to you. I don't even have to prove that to you. We don't need to have this debate because if they were in regular use, you could produce for me right now, a person who had been miraculously healed, miraculously healed like the man outside the beautiful gate or when Peter raised Tabitha from the dead.

You know, these miracles that we read about in Acts, you would be able to produce one for me. And if you claim to be an apostle or have a gift of healing like that, then you would be out there doing it.

You would be clearing out hospitals. They would have you on the news because you could say to a person, get up and walk. And they would. And none of these charismatic preachers are doing it. So none of those miraculous sign gifts that verify the identity of an apostle are at work in the world today.

They were with the apostles in the first century. And once the last apostle passed into glory, who would have been the apostle John, then those miraculous sign gifts verifying apostleship had ceased. Now that's not to say that I don't think God will work a miracle.

I absolutely believe that God works miracles even still to this day. But they are not miraculous gifts that remain with a particular person that that person can exercise to verify the word that they speak comes from God.

That was why the apostles were able to do these miracles, so that you would know that the word they spoke actually came from the Lord. No one could do these miraculous signs and wonders except those to whom God had given this ability, verifying the message that they spoke came from Christ.

Catherine Crick cannot manifest that. She cannot prove her apostleship. As I've retorted many times before, if somebody claims to be an apostle, you just go, oh yeah, well, raise the dead and prove it.

Or raise a lame man and prove to me that you're an apostle. It cannot be done. And furthermore, the apostle Paul said that he was the last one to whom Christ appeared and appointed an apostle. That's in 1 Corinthians 15, 8.

Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, Paul said. There was not going to be any more appointed after him. And so anybody claiming to be an apostle today and claiming to have some kind of anointing or level of apostleship that's equal to what we see of the apostles in the New Testament, they are liars.

And incidentally, Catherine Crick's mentor, the guy who anointed her, whose name is George Davy, a Tanzanian prophet, we'll get to him in just a moment. This guy has claimed that he does more than even Jesus did.

And he's taking that verse from John, which Jesus said to his disciples, you will do even greater works than I have done. He takes that verse to mean us apostles today. We're doing even more than Jesus did.

More miraculous signs and wonders than he did. Oh, yeah. OK, sure. Take five loaves and two fish and feed 5000 people with it. Let me let me see you do that. Go walk on the water out there. I want to see you be able to do that anyway.

So he's made that claim. And this is Catherine Crick's mentor. She literally worships at this guy's feet. There's video of her doing that. So anyway, you have these videos of her casting out demons and all this other kind of thing.

This is what's made her really popular. But of course, that's not even what she's doing at all. Let me play another one for you here. This is because I have a point I want to make with this here. Here she is casting the evil spirits out of somebody else.

Here we go. I want to be free. I hear voices every day. So this this gal is wanting to be free of the demons that are in her, she says, because she hears the voices. She's weeping before Catherine Crick.

They tell me ugly things, but I know God loves me.

I detach her from all of that now. Stop. I break every generational curse. I break every curse of witchcraft sent upon her life now. And I declare every spirit attached to what she renounced. Every spirit of witchcraft, every spirit of fear, every spirit that's trying to stop her from being used by God.

All of these spirits sending these voices, bringing mental torment. I declare on three almost leave her in Jesus name. One, two, three.

OK, she did that in the previous video, too, right? The one, two, three thing. It's just like a it's like you're guiding a toddler. I'm going to give you to the count of three, one, two, three. And then what happens on three?

If you've ever seen this done before, you they always do something on three. They fall down. They roll over. They scream. They convulse something. Something happens on three because that's again, they're guiding the gimmick.

So you're going to respond on three. Is that the way that Jesus cast out demons? Consider this account that we have in Mark one twenty one. And they went into Capernaum and immediately on the Sabbath, he entered the synagogue and was teaching.

And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority and not as the scribes. And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?

Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the holy one of God. But Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent and come out of him. And the unclean spirit convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice came out of him.

And they were all amazed so that they were questioning among themselves, saying, What is this? A new teaching with authority. He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him. And at once his fame spread everywhere throughout all the surrounding region of Galilee.

Many other occasions that you have in the gospels, Jesus casting out unclean spirits in the same way. He gives a simple command and they're gone. But what happens with a lot of these charismatics that do this?

Catherine Crick, especially, they just keep talking. They keep talking. The person keeps convulsing or they count to three and then something happens. And by the power of suggestion or some kind of manipulation, they will fall down.

There's another video where there's like a bunch of people standing in the front row. And she's just going by them and waving at them and waving and waving. And they're falling down as she's walking by.

But there's a guy standing there who doesn't fall down. And she has to stop and kind of like wave at him a couple of times to get him to fall over. Like you're not following the gimmick. And then she just keeps on going and moves past him and goes on to the other people.

So this is all by suggestion that this is done. And as I mentioned to you a little bit ago, it's also staged. They will use people, really paid crisis actors is what they get called. They will use people to act this out and pretend that they're having demons being cast out of them.

They're pretending that they're being delivered. And there are videos on YouTube you can find where there are sleuths out there who have looked at multiple videos from Catherine Crick and they have spotted the same people showing up and getting the demons cast out of them again.

But not only with Catherine Crick, there are other charismatic preachers using the same people who are pretending to have demons cast out of them. Now, are these people that are, you know, they just want a lot of attention.

So they just go to everybody's charismatic meeting and they just always need demons cast out of them, which, by the way, we don't see that in the gospels either. When a person has an evil spirit cast out of them, it's cast out of them.

It's not a and the people recognize the spirit is gone. It's not the sort of thing where it comes back again tomorrow and they need to go find Jesus again. Jesus has authority to cast out spirits. And when he casts out a spirit, it is gone.

But here you have these what appears to be paid actors. There was one video that I saw where Catherine Crick did an event. A woman came forward and had an evil spirit cast out of her, supposedly, of course.

And then she did another event in the exact same place the very next day. And the same woman came forward again. So the appearance is that she was paid to be there at the same event two days in a row with different crowds.

So the audience wouldn't be any wiser to it. But people who watch the videos online have been wise to it. And they're spotting these kinds of things. This is a trick that I've talked about Stephen Furtick doing, where he will plant people when they do their spontaneous baptisms and stuff like this.

And we know that they're planting people who will come forward and share this testimony and want to go get baptized. We know that they do that because the manifesto that they wrote on spontaneous baptisms got leaked and it talked about in there.

Like if another church wants to do this, they want to do spontaneous baptisms the same way that Furtick's Elevation Church did it. Here's the manifesto that you can follow. Plant some people in there who will come forward and say, I want to get baptized and it will get the ball rolling.

So all of that is just manipulation. And it's the same way with just about any of these charismatic events. This isn't a new thing necessarily that Catherine Crick has done. But because she's so viral and there's so many videos, she's been caught.

And it's known that the ways that she does this is by using actors, some of the same people over and over again. And it's kind of funny how polite the demons will be sometimes too, right? They don't curse at her.

It's not foul language. And they're so obedient as well whenever Catherine is just casting something out of there. She claims to have healed cancer, HIV, breathing difficulties. In the one video that we saw there, she has cured drug and alcohol addiction, neurological disorders.

Of course, there's no evidence for any of this, no proof for this, because all you see is the moment that she makes these declarations before a camera. You don't get any of the follow up. So you don't ever hear about like a person with HIV went to the doctor and boom, they were cured or healing someone's cancer on the spot.

What you definitely don't see is a person who's crippled. Get up and walk. And you never see any of these faith healers ever do a miracle like that. All right. So that's number one. First of all, Crick is a self-proclaimed apostle, and that should be the immediate like, oh, well, false teacher right away.

You can write a person off who is claiming that. Now, apostle, of course, means someone who is sent. But who is using apostle in that fashion? Like whenever we send missionaries overseas, we don't call them apostles.

They don't call themselves apostles. This is something that exists strictly within charismatic circles and especially what we call the New Apostolic Reformation, the NAR, which Catherine Crick is highly connected in as well.

George Davy, the False Prophet Who Anointed Her

So getting to this next part, talking about her connections, let's number two, talk about the guy who anointed her as an apostle, Jor Davie from Tanzania. And in fact, his name is Moses Kasambali Jor Davie, or as it's styled, whenever he speaks at events and his name is plastered up on the screen, it's Prophet Dr. Jor Davie.

And this is a guy who claims that he is an apostle as well, and even more than this, a prophet and claims that he has been prophesying that God has been giving him visions since he was five years old.

Now, in this video that I'm going to play here, this is Jor Davie giving this anointing to Catherine Crick. Actually, I think I've moved beyond it a little bit. So this is Catherine Crick responding to Jor Davie, and the stuff that she says to him here is pretty wild.

And I'll kind of pause it and kind of walk you through some things, too, in case the context gets lost. But this is at Jor Davie's church, I'm pretty sure, which, again, is in Tanzania. And the two languages that they speak in Tanzania, the two main languages, like 100 different languages, even some primitive languages there.
