Then they came out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots.

So all of these kings agreed to meet, and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

Then Yahweh said to Joshua, Do not be afraid because of them. For tomorrow at this time

I will give all of them over, slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.

So Joshua and all the people of war with him came upon them suddenly by the waters of Merom, and they fell upon them.

For Hazor formerly was the head of all these kingdoms. And they struck every person who was in it with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction.

There was no one left who breathed, and he burned Hazor with fire. And Joshua captured all the cities of these kings and all their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and he devoted them to destruction, just as Moses the servant of Yahweh had commanded.

It is an enduring nation. It is an ancient nation. A nation whose tongue you do not know, nor can you understand what they say.

Their quiver is like an open grave. All of them are mighty men. They will devour your harvest and your food.

They will devour your sons and your daughters. They will devour your flocks and your herds. They will devour your vines and your fig trees.

They will demolish with the sword your fortified cities in which you trust. Yet even in those days, declares

Yahweh, I will not make you a complete destruction. It shall come about when they say,

And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

And everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or farms for My namesake, will receive one hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
