Hello, welcome back to daily bites of God's word. This is Andy Cain and it is a joy to be back with you
Once again today, we're looking at psalm 119 verse 59 It says I thought upon my ways and I turned my feet to your testimonies
Notice here. It's not just knowing God's word. It's not just knowing what you should do
It's taking action. The psalmist says here. I thought upon my ways, so he's
The way this works is we take the Word of God and we have it taught it's preached it's studied
It's read and it is the roadmap. It's the standard It's the final authority and then we conform to it not the other way around many churches get themselves in trouble when they either neglect or ignore scripture or Take it at a context or change it or manipulate it to fit what they want
The key in the psalmist brings us out is I see and I because he said in previous verses about Meditating on the
Word of God understanding the Word of God and now he says I'm thinking on my ways.
I'm considering Doing some inventory. I'm convicted I feel like this particular area is not matching up with the unvarnished truth of scripture
And so then he says I take an action. I think I consider but then
I take action I turn my feet not just away from the sin.
That's good. We need to repent We need to turn away from sin, but it's not just the turning away from sin, but the turning towards something
It's the whole about face. We're turning away from the sin and towards God's Word and tool and turning towards God because you notice he says it's to your
Testimonies the testimonies of the Lord the testimonies of God what God has said not what man thinks
But what God has said and so we take in the Word of God we understand it and then to apply it we need to think on our ways and consider our ways and consider how we needed to make changes and then we turn and Make those changes and so I ask you and wonder are there areas in your life where you need to make changes?
Are there areas where you need to apply God's Word more? Consistently are there some areas where you need to spend some time thinking?
Thinking about the truth of God's Word and maybe need to study a certain subject and then apply it to your life
