Hello and welcome back to Daily Bites God's Word. This is Andy Cain and it is a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're looking at Psalm 119 verse 29. It says, Remove the false way from me and graciously grant me your law.
This is part of repentance. It's part of growing in Christ. It's part of growing in righteousness. It's not just doing the things that we should be doing.
It's not just knowing the Word of God and knowing the truth of God and following it. It's also a turning from and removing from our lives the false way.
So he says remove the false way from me. It's not that I just want to have it in me but don't give into it or maybe there's a temptation but you know
I didn't yield this time. No, I want every false way, every sin removed from my heart, removed from me so that I can truly be granted the true law of the
Lord. And this isn't about a pharisaical understanding here of having laws and rules and regulations.
We will be granted the law of God because we want it written on our hearts. This is the precursor to the new covenant.
When Jesus says I will save them, I will regenerate them, take out their heart of stone, give them a heart of flesh and I will write my law on their hearts beginning with the fact that we are to love the
Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Loving Him supremely, loving our neighbor as ourself, loving our fellow brethren, and seeking to be holy, seeking to be righteous, which involves and is very important to remove the false way from us.
