Why Natural Disasters Are an Effect of Sin

Why does God allow natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes, tsunamis? I always find it interesting that people want to blame God when there's natural disasters. In fact, what do we call it, what do insurance companies call it when there is a natural disaster?

They call it an act of God. That's right. They blame God for things like that, but you never hear them crediting God when things happen that are good in the world. No. You end up seeing that the world wants to blame God for everything that they think is wrong and that they want to blame Him.

Well, the fact is, hurricanes and earthquakes and tsunamis and these things are an act of, well, basically the effect of sin in the world. You can go back to Genesis chapter 3 and see that when Adam and Eve fell, there was a curse.

Romans 8 and the Groaning Creation

Well, how far did that curse go? Well, we can look at Romans chapter 8 and see that that goes, well, to the entire universe. Romans 8 .18. For I consider that the suffering of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is revealed to us.

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope. So, all these things are the effect of the fall.
