Live from the historic parsonage of the 19th century gospel minister George Norcross in downtown
00:10
Carlisle, Pennsylvania, it's Iron Sharpens Iron. This is a radio platform in which pastors,
00:23
Christian scholars, and theologians address the burning issues facing the church and the world today.
00:31
Proverbs chapter 27 verse 17 tells us iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.
00:38
Matthew Henry said that in this passage we are cautioned to take heed with whom we converse and directed to have in view in conversation to make one another wiser and better.
00:50
It is our hope that this goal will be accomplished over the next two hours and we hope to hear from you, the listener, with your own questions and now here's your host
00:59
Chris Arnzen. Good afternoon
01:10
Cumberland County Pennsylvania Lake City Florida and the rest of humanity listening via live streaming all over the planet earth at ironsharpensironradio .com
01:23
This is Chris Arnzen your host of ironsharpensironradio wishing you all a happy Monday on this 12th day of July 2021 and I'm thrilled to have back on the program
01:35
Dr. Jason M. Garwood who is teaching pastor at Cross and Crown Church in Northern Virginia, a writer, activist, professor at Cross and Crown Seminary, and author of Health for All of Life, a medical manifesto of hope and healing for the nations.
01:55
Today we are going to be addressing the Warrington Declaration on Medical Mandates, Biblical Ethics, and Authority and it's my honor and privilege to welcome you back to ironsharpensironradio
02:08
Dr. Jason M. Garwood. Thank you so much Chris I'm happy to be with you again and I hope you are doing well the ministry's doing well and I'm honored to come on and talk about this topic which is exceedingly important given the past couple of years so I'm hoping we can dive in and hopefully answer some questions later.
02:28
Great well before we go into the main theme at hand, the Warrington Declaration, tell our listeners about Cross and Crown Church in Northern Virginia.
02:39
Sure yeah Cross and Crown Church we are a Reformed congregation we started up in the fall of 2017
02:45
I've been pastoring in Michigan for about seven years at a fairly larger church in the northeastern part of Michigan in the
02:52
Thumb area and I just felt the Lord impressing upon my heart that we needed to come here and plant and so my friend
03:00
Jordan was already here and we put a small group core group together and we said we really want to carry out this vision all of Christ for all of life and so we packed our bags and moved here to start this work and have been very active and you mentioned there in my biography being an activist
03:18
I think a Christian born -again Christian Christian activist sort of redundant that type of thing to be a
03:25
Christian is to be active in his kingdom and so that's what our hope has been is to preach and teach the comprehensive gospel of the kingdom that Jesus Christ came to establish and I'll work that out and in all areas of life and whether that's seeking to abolish human abortion or reel in the megalithic
03:47
Leviathan that is the state we want to see the gospel go forward in everywhere so that's our mission that's our goal and our website's crosscrownchurch .com
03:56
lots of material there people can find but that's our hope that's our prayers we build this community.
04:04
Great and also why don't you give our listeners a summary of the book that you have written that we have already interviewed you on this book so for those of our listeners who after this program is over want to look up on the ironsharpenzionradio .com
04:25
archives you can see the interviews we've done a health for all of life a medical manifesto of hope and healing for the nation's we did actually multiple interviews on that book all you have to do is type into the search engine
04:43
Garwood G -A -R -W -O -O -D the last name of our guest and the author of that book and you will get all of the interviews that we have had with Dr.
04:53
Jason M. Garwood come up but tell us about that book to whet the appetites of our voracious readers in the audience who may be compelled to pick up that book after hearing you describe it.
05:10
Sure yeah thanks for the opportunity to do that I really enjoyed our last time talking our mutual friend
05:16
Bill Evans was on with us really the book really wouldn't have happened without Bill's assistance and in multiple ways helping take the website healthforalloflife .com
05:27
and then pushing it out into this book form and the hope of the book is to simply take the comprehensive nature of God's kingdom and the good news of Christ and figure out you know how does the
05:38
Bible deal with issues like health how should we be thinking about health care how do we demystify this idea that you have to go the conventional route to get the particular drug in order to cure the particular issue and really what we see is that there's this rival view between an allopathic model and a naturopathic model and it seems like there's a very much presuppositions behind each of those and and one of them that I argue in the book is that the naturopathic model is the way of Christ the way of dealing with things using the
06:12
God -given things we have like chlorine dioxide and the mighty 90 nutrients that we need vitamins and minerals and fatty acids and so on these things that are literally the building blocks of God's beautiful world and we should pursue those things the other option is the allopathic model which stems from a
06:32
Darwinian naturalistic perspective where people are just blobs of pongoo who somehow figured out how to walk and and talk and so the body becomes something that we have to tame through synthetic drugs and vaccination and all these things that are really attached to a very pagan worldview so that that's really the first half of the book trying to theologically assess assess the issue and then
06:55
I want you to get in the second half of the book it really it's based on the triad of health three things are key you can get these three things down that anybody can do it you can take back your health and take back control of your health and not rely on the
07:09
MD kings to do it for you and those three things are simply neutrify your body needs proper nutrition good water things like that you also need to detoxify your body from heavy metals which are which are in the air and you also need to be able to energize the body properly getting proper sleep and so on these are all three things that if you can nail those down then you'll have a better grasp on your health and if there's one thing
07:35
I know Chris and you've been in churches when we have prayer time and prayerless it seems like 99 % of them are all and and unfortunately
07:46
I think a lot of pastors myself included at one point really didn't think too much about that issue but we should be thinking about it we should be caring for God's people we want to see people healthy so that they're in the fight of God's kingdom that they are you know equipped to do evangelism and sent out but when you're sick you're out of that fight so we want to help people and give them the tools they need to be able to do that so I appreciate the opportunity to talk about the book because it is kind of tied to the topic today but I have also received emails from folks who are listening to those prior interviews and was very encouraged by that to see people take control of their health and I think that's just another exercise of self -government that we need to keep preaching well if anybody wants to purchase that book go to Amazon and type into the search engine their health for all of life a medical manifesto of hope and healing for the nation's by Jason M as in Michael Garwood and we hope that many of you order that book alrighty well
08:57
I'm gonna give out our email address for any of our listeners who desire sending in a question of their own it is
09:07
Chris Arnzen at gmail .com see HR is a RN z en gmail .com
09:13
give us your first name at least your city and state of residence in your country of residence if you live outside the USA our theme today as I've already mentioned is the
09:21
Warrington Declaration on medical mandates biblical ethics and authority and that's w a r e n t o n
09:30
Warrington Declaration and it could not be sooner that we received this declaration right in the aftermath of one of recent history's most disturbing examples of the flaunting of power by the left the flexing of muscles by the left during the what has become known as the corona virus pandemic and I cannot help but to think and I'm I know that many sound -minded
10:19
I'm not saying that I'm sound of my sound -minded friends and even
10:29
Christian heroes that are still with us today I think that they will echo my words that I think this was basically a test run the way that the governments globally have imposed not only unnecessary mandates upon their citizens or subjects but even laughably ridiculous if it were not so nightmarish
10:59
I know that people whose livelihoods were totally destroyed were not laughing people whose livelihoods were not only destroyed but family businesses that may have even been launched by hard -working immigrants over a century ago crumbled to the dust because of these insane mandates of hungry power leftists and authority and even the cowardly so -called conservatives that just allowed it to happen so I think this is just the left sticking its big toe in the water of tyrannical power
11:45
I know a lot of people who are moderate or liberal laugh at such claims they think this is nothing but crazy conspiracy theory kind of babbling but I I am thoroughly thoroughly convinced that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this horrifying abuse of power that we have all witnessed and some have been harmed far more than others well tell us about the
12:18
Warrington Declaration who is involved in it and why has it come into existence sure
12:26
I suppose the quick answer to who is involved it's really kind of spearheaded by our church here in Warrington but we really worked with pastors and leaders all over the world to hone it in to craft the statement to make sure the
12:40
Declaration itself is theologically appropriate that we're making sure we're rhetorically lining up that it makes sense you know it's it's something that needed to be spelled out probably already two years ago unfortunately the church is you know is oftentimes more reactionary than proactive and you know sometimes that's just the way things are when we're dealing with history unfolding and God's sovereign predestination we don't we don't know the mind of God so we sort of have to sometimes just deal with the doubt but the
13:15
Declaration of course was shaped by many different people some various backgrounds evangelical
13:21
Protestant we've had a tremendous response from the Roman Catholics on this statement interestingly enough it was picked up by Lifesite News and some other outlet but the statement let me kind of back up and explain a little bit
13:35
Chris why so our listeners kind of get an understanding of why why it's important well for one when
13:42
I was writing Health for All of Life the book we just talked about that was sort of when things were starting to happen
13:48
I had already been researching reading tons of materials trying to pull things together so I can craft the book the way
13:55
I felt like it needed to be crafted and all of a sudden you started hearing about this
14:00
COVID thing and starting in Wuhan and sort of spreading out into the world and by March April of 2020 we saw lockdowns enacted and those types of things so our church took a stand and said look we care about we care about people and we want to speak to these issues because we have some friends that have businesses downtown here in our town a small town but it sounds and they were seeing their businesses crushed by it and we said well this isn't appropriate you know our particular view we believe the
14:33
Bible very clearly teaches us about the Dominion Covenant that we're to work and keep the garden world and we're supposed to be productive for the kingdom and not just be consumers but also producers and and and we felt like we needed to take a stand and so a gentleman in our church his name's
14:48
Chris he said look we need to we need to rally together so we started a Facebook group locally got a you know over a thousand people pretty quickly in our county who said yes we need to we need to push back against this government orphan is overreaching and we need to step it up and and so we had a rally maybe 150 people came not as many as we were hoping but more than more than we really thought once it's set in would would come because we had a lot of pushback from people and we sort of decided we would take for nightingale position she the famous nurse was always impressed by Christ because he would always move towards and want to to bring healing to them and so we said we're going to do that we're going to go towards whether whether people are in need and it just so happens that businesses are being decimated so we've been from day one very involved in this particular issue and trying to come up with sound arguments of why we reject math mandates and why we reject the vaccine and and why the government itself civil government has no authority over jurisdiction over this so we've been honing in on that for over a year now and the statement kind of as a product of that we've had problems with eating too much power to civil magistrates and medical choices and and there's this medical industrial complex which is married to these civil magistrates with health health agencies and even the courts and regulators the pharmaceutical companies they're really all involved and and so we said we need to have a coherent stance on this and so that's what we're going to do we're going to put we're going to put this together with the help of others literally all over the world and and we want the church to be able to say we got to put our foot down and we need a coherent biblical theological statement a declaration that spells this out so that we can equip the church so that we have a better vision for how to handle this so when it comes again and it'll come again because this will be the new precedent that we've set we'll be able to handle it the next time so we don't want this medical tyranny to go on we want people to be able to govern themselves and the church and the family to be able to govern according to God's Word well
17:06
I want to just share with our listeners just a few of the signers that my listeners may recognize because I've interviewed them on different subjects other than what we are discussing today but the world -renowned author dr.
17:22
George Grant is among them very well known and admired advocate for the abolition of abortion
17:31
John speed also dr.
17:36
Jason dr. Gordon Runyon pastor Gordon Runyon I'm sorry who's been on this program and dusty Deavers who was just on this program very recently who was joined by Bill Askell in presenting their their abolition their abortion abolition declaration for the
18:05
Southern Baptist Convention and many others so I'll give this website out to you and you can always look it up later and we will repeat it
18:16
God willing later but it's Warrington declaration calm Warrington declaration calm and that's w -a -r -r -e -n -t -o -n declaration calm so what are the main elements of this declaration and what is the ultimate goal you seek to accomplish through it sure well for one as far as what's contained in the declaration itself we really wanted to provide doctrinal clarity kind of as I was saying a second ago but coherence on the issues of biblical authority and ethics as it relates to medical mandate and so as far as like you know honing in on those things that was that was really our aim we really wanted the local churches and their officers pastors and elders and deacons to we wanted to be able to equip them to provide transparency on this issue because I'm sure in your experience
19:14
Chris we saw this take place a lot of pastors were caught flat -footed many shut down and stayed shut down for over a year many of our churches here were still shut down even a couple of months ago so there was an issue with clarity on what should we do we just believe the
19:32
CDC or whatever our particular state health commissioner says do we just do whatever they say so we really want to assist people and not only knowing what the
19:43
Bible teaches about authority because that's really the first first section is where is authority come from who has authority what are the limits of that authority and then of course for the second half of it we really have tried to apply those concepts to things like masks and health care and in jurisdictional authority when it comes to the family what is the family permitted to do what is the church permitted to do and this is all as many
20:08
I'm sure listeners are familiar with a lot of it thanks to the work of Abraham Kuyper who developed their sovereignty and looking at the
20:15
Bible and saying no like we have clear lines of demarcation as it pertains to who has authority and where they have authority so that's really the other kind of flip side to it too
20:27
I should say and add here Chris is that there were people who were very very much mistreated by churches who a friend of mine was not allowed to come to church unless he donned the mask and he had a personal conscience conviction that hey the mask doesn't work and that be he's not willing to basically put forward false witness and in lying by acquiescing to what everybody else was saying so he wasn't permitted to become to fellowship and and that's unfortunately happened
21:01
I think more often than people realize a lot of folks reached out to us and said hey what you guys didn't shut down you're not mandating masks in fact you're preaching opposite of what seems to be the prevailing belief what's the deal why is that the case because we're not allowed to even come to church and because we won't look we won't merit wear the mask so there was just a lot of confusion so the statement itself this is meant to be a tool for people who can give maybe to their elders or their pastors and say pastor you need to sign this you gotta sign this now we need more people to sign it we need to get the message out and that's what we were hoping what happened is that part of the goal is not just provide doc no clarity but use it as a tool to start infiltrating our churches and I have yet to hear of a pastor who has taken the initiative to pass it out other than the ones we had for that were initial signers but I haven't heard anyone make sure these hit the printer and got in the hands of every single person in their church and it's discouraging it's frustrating when you have apathy whether it's abortion
22:10
Holocaust or these medical mandates the apathy I would encourage my brothers pastors and brothers to to lead the charge in this way to have a coherent document like this and put it out there for people so that they can so they can learn the teaching tool but also so they can use it as an evangelistic tool and you know people my friend
22:32
Bill is fond of saying you know people get excited they talk about what they're excited about and we people don't evangelize because they're not excited about Jesus or they're timid or they're scared or there's a fear of man issue there a variety of issues the same thing goes with other things sometimes we're quicker to recommend the restaurant than we are to recommend someone have a coherent issue on biblical mandate or excuse me medical mandates and biblical authority and that's really the aim of the document is to just sort of a shot over the bow to say this is what biblical authority looks like this is what loving your neighbor looks like not the fabricated stuff you see on television and the fear -mongering that takes place out in the out on the television and in Facebook and all these places this is meant to be a unifying in that sense and hopefully people will learn from it and share it with others
23:24
I'm utterly amazed that I still see young people especially college -age folks and even little children obviously by the mandates of their parents wearing masks even now yeah but you know it's it even goes beyond the not wanting to bear false witness by publicly identifying with the lies of leftists and government it's also injurious to one's own personal health
24:02
I have seen and read and heard very convincing evidence that the habitual mask wearing is damaging the health of individuals and especially especially perhaps yeah there was a story about these parents who had taken their masks and sent them in to be tested and just a whole litany of things that were were found in their bacterias and pneumonia bacterias and viruses and all these things that again why you why you need a biblical worldview who is
24:37
God made us to be he's made us to be his creatures people in his image and he has designed the body to function a certain way so when you think about one of the main couple of main ways you just you basically detox your body is one of them is obviously through your basic digestive processes but also through your limb system when you're sweating and so on but another the other big one is your breath what you when you're breathing breathing in oxygen breathing out the bad stuff right your ears there's this exchange that's happening and there's a lot of health concerns when you cover that up you are basically muting and putting your body's detoxing system on hold and at worst you're actually throwing a kink in the whole thing because now your body can't get rid of the stuff that needs to get rid of so again basic presuppositions will come into play when it comes to the mask learning well we have to go to our first station break and as I said if you have a question you'd like to ask of pastor

36:51
if you have a question that you would like uh dr garwood to answer on the air uh that's chrisarnsen at gmail .com
37:01
we have a question from someone who has been interviewed on this program a number of times uh his name is ernie springer and he along with my own personal physician joel yeager uh and dr daniel o 'rourke co -authored coronavirus and the leadership of the christian church a sacred trust broken i strongly urge everybody to get their hands on that book as well but uh ernie writes let's see i have to scroll to the top of his question uh dr garwood the preamble states unfortunately due to a pervasive lack of theological and biblical understanding on these issues coupled with a tendency to over attribute power and jurisdiction to the state oftentimes churches have defaulted to almost reflexively acquiescing to whatever government health agency statements are made and the policies they put in place the legitimacy of the sweeping powers attributed to the state is either simply presumed or reinforced with scant or faulty biblical support what is your opinion then as to the cause of so many pastors and elders for acting contrary to scripture is it ignorance of the bible intentional dishonesty or simply a lack of courage and how has the leadership of the true christian church come to such a level of unfaithfulness uh yeah i'm sure you would agree there are a variety of reasons why pastors and churches and denominations act as they do we have to be careful not to slander anybody but go ahead if you could reply to ernie yeah yeah i guess the answer is yes um because i think there are a lot of um as i see it problems and and you're right i mean chris i we don't want to disparage or be smudged the bride of christ but we also have a scripture with what peter tells us that judgment starts with the house of god and so we have to we have to kind of balance that and say well we need to we need to clean our own house before we try to clean someone else's and i think that so it is appropriate for us to analyze and i think soberly hopefully offer correction if it's needed and i think there is a corrective that is needed especially as this was revealed i liken it to the fact that a a parent might be moaned the fact that their child went to college and quote -unquote lost their faith and uh someone i don't remember where i had heard this but someone said well actually it's not that the college took away their faith it's just the college revealed really what was there and it wasn't much and i think we can use that as a great explanation for this i mean we've been involved for quite a while with the abortion holocaust and trying to minister and preach christ at different places different events we were recently at a pride event in washington dc that got quite hostile but of course you know the dark doesn't love light and so we need to be able to go to those places but their general response it seems to be one of apathy the shortcomings of the pro -life movement and why abolitionism is a sound biblical and doctrinal position to hold that sort of is something that i've already been in and tussled with for a long time and then we have the covid situation where it seemed to reveal a lot and so i'm not with the question there i think it's a brilliant question because i'm not one to just start poking fingers and pointing fingers rather and just saying well you didn't do exactly what i would have done it's not that i think there's a larger thing and the question sort of had the answer housed within it i think in some cases we did see a lack of courage i think in some cases we did see people who were caught flat -footed and they didn't really know what to do and i and i admit and readily admit and so i don't want to just criticize but i admit yes this was a unique situation it was something that none of us had ever experienced before we've only read about it in history books right so this was a new situation a situation of course even kuiper himself had dealt with in his book called our program he talked about vaccination and even though i would have some disagreements with him he's definitely against forced vaccination but maybe it's a lack of courage in the church yes maybe it's just ignorance of those things i for a long time was really ignorant of what vaccination really does and what it really does achieve and it's not what they tell you it's achieved and so it sort of take it had taken a wake -up call for me and i'm hoping and praying that maybe this was for some people we saw john macarthur early on and not to just pick on him because i think a lot of people at first thought okay two weeks to flatten the curve all right well let's let's just let's go with it and see see how this plays out no harm no foul sort of thing but then the two weeks flattened the curve became you know about six months of smashing the economy into pieces and then it just continued to drag on and i think some pastors said like macarthur later on well yeah things you know this is this isn't going the way it should uh so it could have been initially an issue of courage it could have been pious it could have been a neoplatonist view of of man whereas the spiritual is only what matters and the and the quote unquote uh material is not that important and so we just have to you know christ is king so but he's only king of the church he's not king of caesar so we have to do whatever caesar says and i think there's some confusion on that i think there's confusion on romans 13 frankly a passage i just preached on a couple of weeks ago yeah to give benefit of the doubt to yeah the well -meaning uh bible -believing pastors congregations and denominations who really believed that they in all sincerity were following biblical mandates as you were just mentioning primarily in romans 13 and so we can't just say that uh all pastors and churches and denominations were doing this cowering in fear over leftist authority leftist totalitarianism uh they were they were truly seeking to honor christ and his word and uh perhaps even uh frightened of attaching themselves to those in the body of christ who are nut jobs who are real wacky conspiracy theorists who just like the old adage goes uh like a broken clock they're right twice a day you know so they uh you know perhaps wanted to distance themselves from that and and we're actually fearing for the safety and health and well -being of the congregants but anyway you can pick up yeah no that's great chris because i i 100 agree i think there were people who did genuinely said well this seems really bad we need to just take precautions and and i you know that okay fine you know i i'm okay with that early on we just thought okay this is unprecedented uh this this really isn't a good idea you know our particular view i say our because our church really in a lot of ways we we spend time in this area generally speaking through our activity but as far as our understanding of health and trying to get people out of the pharmaceutical centered model of medicine and back into a more naturopathic model um you know that's sort of already on on our minds anyway so i don't i don't fault them for that i think though that the case of jesus himself who was willing to go to the sick who was willing to serve and and i'm sure there were cases like that i didn't see anything that stood out whether that uh you know on the news or social media uh of much of that going out uh the extent of that is church is opening up to be a vaccine clinic which i think is just horrific but yeah i don't want to broad broad brushstroke here but i think there are a lot of varying degrees of concern and factors but again though there may be a policy biblical view of jurisdictional authority for romans 13 that's not a permission to give the state unending authority to do whatever they want only jesus christ has unending authority as we say in the very first point of the declaration so yeah that's a great question though i mean a huge one because i don't want to disparage anyone but it seems like as things rolled out we all we all smelled the rat there was something going on um and a few were sounding the alarm um and it seems like more and more waking up and i praise god for that well thanks a lot ernie excellent questions and i will continue to pray and spread the word about your wonderful book that i continue to encourage people to get a hold of and read and share and spread that tremendous work that you co -authored along with my own physician dr joel yeager and dr daniel o 'rourke coronavirus and the leadership of the christian church's sacred trust broken uh we have a listener who is choosing to remain anonymous and this listener says i find myself getting into a lot of trouble in my own congregation when i echo things very much akin to what you are saying today the thing that i always hear when i am challenged by those who disagree with me on all hosts of reasons why we should obey the government on these issues and wearing masks and getting vaccines is why on earth would they intentionally risk our physical harm or actually intend our physical harm i just cannot believe that even those who are our political opponents would dare want to bring great harm onto the population in the very nation where they serve as leaders it seems to be counterproductive on remaining and preserving their own leadership and their re -election if you could answer i i have also heard that many times like oh come on how could people really uh want you to do something that is really uh in reality a harmful thing you know how do you respond to that well sure i mean my first response that to that is uh one i'm very hesitant to want to trust a civil government that one has protected and advanced the slaughter of children in the womb so i'm not interested really in hearing them say we want to we want to protect lives when you have leftist incantation going on you have conservatives who are adopting the faulty presuppositions of pro -life ism and it continues to go on so this idea that they're just want to save lives um immediately i'm putting i'm putting that on hold and saying no way i don't i don't see that i i don't see how you could uh say you know i'm probably want to try to save lives when you can't even do this most basic thing like um abolish human abortion that sort of thing so i'm already i'm already not interested in hearing what they have to say but the flip side of that too is you also have major major problems in the health industry that are exacerbated by faulty presuppositions and what what i would say are darwinian presuppositions for example they say outside of abortion the number one killer uh would be heart disease and then you have cancer you have medical mistakes you have adverse drug reactions and those are all admittedly what they tell us so you have heart disease and cancer they can't figure out what to do with it so there are things you can do to prevent both um stuff in the book i've written about but then the second couple you have are problems that are created by this very system so doctors who are prescribing wrong things and people having adverse reactions to their drugs or you also have something like um uh someone dying because of medical mistakes so the the top four killers even if you put abortion at the top then the next four are all perpetuated by what we have right now so those two things are problematic for me and i don't think anyone necessarily like a like a ted cruz or a nancy pelosi or people at the top who've been there for a long time are twisting their mustache and you know coming up with sinister plans but when you have a guy like ran paul who's grilling dr fauci or dr fraud she is we should call i've never heard that one before but i'm definitely making a mental note of it you can you can feel it um i don't that may be original i might have coined it i don't know but um you have ran ran paul grilling him about gain of function research in the wuhan lab and how the that they were part of funding it and and that's a huge problem a huge question of why are we doing gain of function research why are we toying with viruses and manipulating them and and let's see how dangerous we can make this and all in the name of world will protect people instead of just squashing it and letting it go i don't i don't understand so there clearly are nefarious forces that are out there i'm certainly concerned about things that bill gates has actually said from his own mouth about vaccines and population control that's not me you know coming up with various theories of people conspiring i do believe in a spiritual view of history i'm not a fatalist so is predestinating but men do conspire against christ in his kingdom um so everyone's a conspiracy theorist by by definition but i'm not willing to to just ignore what bill gates has said out of his own mouth i'm not i'm not willing to ignore the things that ran paul is a hero and what he's done with dr fauci um you know i can't i can't just go along with it not when i'm seeing all of these problems in fact we got to pick you up we got to pick up right where you left off we have to go to our midway break yep uh if anybody wants to join us please send in your email to chris arnzen at gmail .com

today and always mention chris arnes and of iron sharpens iron radio to them before we return to our guest today uh jason m garwood and our discussion on the warrenton declaration of medical ethics i'm sorry medical mandates biblical ethics and authority we just have a couple of important announcements to make continue to pray for my oldest brother john 76 years old in a rehab facility where he was transferred after a time in the hospital in denton texas uh he for those of you who are unaware has cancer critical stage emphysema and an inoperable aneurysm uh john is now suffering with pneumonia which is a very very deadly thing not only for everybody even when they're in perfect health before the pneumonia sets in but it's especially life -threatening for people in my brother's condition with critical stage emphysema and being 76 years old so please pray that the lord has mercy upon him physically and spares him from death and gives him a long future ahead of him to enjoy with his wife and children and also especially pray for his salvation it is not crystal clear to me if my brother is truly embracing the gospel that has been presented to him numerous times so please pray that i have clear evidence that he has truly bowed the knee to christ and is a born -again believer and i want to thank again my dear friend pastor mac tomlinson of providence chapel in denton texas who has been visiting my brother and sharing the gospel with him each and every time i also want you to pray for my brother bob who not long ago had a cancerous tumor removed from his bladder and everything seems to be just fine with bob he is closest in age to me in the family he is 64 so and he is a believer so pray that the lord continues to use him and me to be a good witness for christ to my brother john uh we also ask of you folks if you love this show you don't want it to disappear go to ironsharpensironradio .com

01:15:43
chrisarnsen and uh before we go on to any uh new questions from listeners i want to make sure uh that or whether or not you completed your thought when we were talking about why pastors and churches and denominations and individual christians should not just have a knee -jerk reaction and obey and trust everything that a local or federal government is urging them to do uh and it is a it can be a deadly mistake to automatically trust that they have your well -being first and foremost in their minds i thought it was very humorous and continue to find it humorous and again and again it's a combination of finding it humorous and finding it horrifying that you have somebody like dr fauci or as you more aptly named him dr fraud she uh saying things like uh why on earth would china want to harm their own people by experimenting with very deadly viruses and so yeah far be it from a communist nation to ever harm anybody living in their nations uh there is absolutely no record in history of communist nations harming the people over whom they have authority am i right isn't this like insane to think that the communist leaders dictators would ever harm their own people yeah that's a pretty good observation i i think uh given the history of of communism and and the absolute devastation that it's caused in history i would say that causing harm is actually one of their top ten of belief uh certainly as they try to carry out a horrific vision for humanity that is man -centered and humanist to the core and um but with regard to the question i i suppose maybe i did finish my thought um other than maybe emphasizing the fact that you know we don't we don't need to give all of our trust to the state our trust is in jesus christ he is our lord he's our king he died for us and he rose from the dead he is currently seated uh in in the heavenly places his session right now in david's throne is all about the orchestration of covenantal history um god god brings judgment where he brings judgment uh deuteronomy 28 29 even leviticus 26 are all passages that are apt and really need to be studied by christians and preached from our pulpits as we understand what faithfulness to the king and his covenant uh really looks like and what happens when we don't when we don't do that and we have confusion and chaos um and all of these things and we know that the that as far as the united states culture goes um it's only going to go as well as christianity and i'm fond of saying that the rise of humanism in the public square is directly proportionate to the rise and retreatism from the christian church and uh i think there's a lot of play underneath all of these so it's not as simple as just saying oh well we should just trust the state or not trust the state i think there are there are many layers to it many things we need to be considering and then in the document and the declaration itself we we really hone in on those issues of jurisdictional authority and i i personally don't care what the cdc says at all um i don't trust them i don't trust the system they're in they're married to with big pharma and big government um so i'm immediately going to uh have a problem with pretty much 99 .9
01:19:34
percent of what they say um because i don't think they understand health i don't think they understand healing and uh i certainly know that many of our leaders don't as well and and i and i again don't want to besmirch the church uh unnecessarily so but uh we really really really need to step up we need people to sign this sign this sign the declaration lots of have already tons of people have it's getting it out there so that we have a sound theological view of civil magistrates role in punishing evil and distinguishing between the church's authority and the family's authority individual's authority all of it subordinate to the authority of christ jesus we have uh joseph in south central pennsylvania who wants to know what would be in your declaration that would perhaps be most surprising to the listeners today well that's a great question haha what might be surprising oh i don't know if i can if i have a a great answer for that um i think maybe perhaps just the concept of uh sphere sovereignty it seems to be i mean in the reform tradition it's certainly something that's been taught for quite a while but the dutch reform tradition especially uh thanks to kuiper and even even you know and mike bobbink and others who had talked about it that may be surprising i think to a lot of people because there is confusion out there in the church with regard to authority in this issue of authority and who gets to say what um where does it come from and and i think that may be surprising to people when we when we come and we say hey no government health agency or even every even a local government is a law unto itself and that may be jarring to some people who may have a status idolatry presupposition that maybe they don't know or maybe they don't even care so when we say that there's no delegated authority that has unlimited jurisdiction what may be surprising to some people is the fact that it's not just that christians should disobey when they're commanded to sin i've heard that from people well we have to do what the government says unless they tell us to sin and that's really not a good response i don't believe it to be a very difficult response so it's not just that though that's true and it's it's also christians are not obligated to obey when so -called authorities are making commands outside of their jurisdiction and that's a very carefully nuanced point that i think may be surprising to people so that's a good question certainly made me kind of rethink for a second but i think generally speaking that meant that may be surprising uh we have cj and lindenhurst long island new york and he says forgive me if i missed this having just tuned in but is your main goal that you wish to achieve to get churches and even physicians next time something like the coronavirus pandemic arises perhaps with a different name that they refuse to obey ridiculous and dictatorial mandates by the government yeah that's something we talked about a little bit earlier so the listener did maybe miss some of that early on but certainly we want it to be a teaching tool it's meant to be a teaching tool that parishioners can take to their elders and say this is this is something i can get behind this is something i think we need to be thinking through it and talking about and perhaps distributing in our local churches it's uh reformed it's very much scriptural it needs to get out there so that's one aspect but certainly yeah i would say that that's another wide goal is to to say look in the future when these types of things happen and it doesn't even matter what it is it could be the next quote -unquote pandemic it could be the next you know whatever um issue may arrive i mean all the all the governor needs to declare an emergency so they can shortcut whatever thing they want they can do that unless that's reigned in but we want churches to to peacefully and civilly disobey and there's a biblical precedent for that chris as you know um you have the hebrew midwife to disobey pharaoh's command you have daniel who was told not to pray he said well i'm going to go home and pray those open the windows and praise and that was just not a commandment that they were allowed to to give and certainly the apostles themselves were told not to preach christ and shall we obey god or men what is what are we going to do here so i think we do want to see the church step up and say not for this i mean you see it um it's loosened up here in america but places like australia i mean even canada arresting pastors i mean goodness gracious this is this has become completely out of hand so we can't allow this to happen ever again and that means we need to repent of our apathy repent of our pietism and repent of perhaps some of our unbiblical views of authority and try to get clarity on this yeah i think that perhaps a follow -up or sequel to the warrenton mandate may be necessary to prepare pastors churches denominations individual christians doctors medical professionals and others to prepare them for perhaps a new wave of nightmares concocted and perpetuated by leftists in power that may mimic or even far surpass the mandates over the coronavirus pandemic hysteria that involve uh shutdowns and other things due to a so -called prevention of the continuance of climate change or the hazards that they fictitiously proclaim accompany it it's isn't it interesting how the phraseology has even changed it used to be global warming and uh oh you disagree with global warming well they want to make you sound like you are more of an idiot by disagreeing with them so they change it to climate change i don't believe in climate change like obviously everybody has to believe in climate change because climate does change every day so it's akin to um uh first it being pro -abortion and then it to then it morphs into pro -choice and now it is pro -women's health care and so the opponents uh to the murder of unborn children are labeled as those who are insanely opposed to women's health care you know that kind of thing but but i might am i right about the uh the preparedness that uh our world uh especially the body of christ should be uh gathering to ensure even right now because of the insanity that comes from the climate change nut jobs yeah that's a good point chris because that's something we've i can i can very much foresee a day uh where we are going to be told that you're only allowed to drive certain miles a day and that you're only allowed to to do certain things at certain times because of quote unquote climate change and that'll be the narrative would be the same narrative that we saw here well don't you love your neighbor why why do you hate the planet why why are you trying to exterminate us why why are you so obsessed with fossil fuels so -called fossil fuels um i i see that coming i think this is yet another wave of it and uh you know again a lot of this could can be from from the lord the confusion the judgment um he's not the author of confusion in the sense that he has not revealed himself in confusing ways but certainly as a judgment uh we find ourselves befuddled sometimes and i think that that's sort of what we have to sort out but i think the climate change discussion is definitely going to be next it's going to be uh something that they're they're very much pushing forward and uh you know it's difficult for me when you think about politics you have uh the the the leftists who are um kind of some of your verbiage there's some of them who are very much anti -god very much evolutionary in their thinking very very much it sort of a relative morality and so on and then they're actually pushing what they believe and we have a lot of conservatives who are really just all talk and no action and it's it's disturbing to me that that that's the case and we need to see the church activated and in the public square and being involved at the local level with your county board of supervisors and your sheriff and and imploring them that's what we did we said you can't support these lockdowns they're ruining businesses you're going to destroy the economy and and and we need to be prepared for that next wave and i do believe the climate change thing will be will be that next wave we'll see more regulation in the food area um shortages of of things like that because the government wants to own land uh when we know biblically the state doesn't own land it's god who owns the land um and and that's going to be trouble but we need to have these categories in place that's why the declaration is what it is and it can be used to to deal with other issues as well because it's theologically driven yeah and here's the most horrifying thought uh i could easily see uh the united states and other countries mimicking china on a uh cutoff point a ceiling if it as as it were a ceiling of the number of children a citizen of the united states or subject of any other country globally uh is permitted to have because overpopulation is one of the major causes of climate change that's what we're called yep and therefore uh i'm sorry you cannot have a third child you must have an abortion uh that i know that sounds ridiculous to people uh but hey whoever thought that our nation would not only be legalizing a man marrying a man and a woman marrying a woman but uh whoever thought that uh that the livelihoods of people could be destroyed if you opposed that notion and it wasn't that long ago remember barack obama didn't even initially agree with same -sex marriage and neither did the clintons before him so we are on a snowball that is rolling down a mountain that is rapidly getting more and more enormous uh as uh the multitudes of us beneath are in peril of being destroyed by it the insanity just continues to grow and multiply and morph into other things yeah time to make an interject something there chris oh yeah go ahead i don't know okay i just i wanted to say too that um what you're describing and kind of what we've been just chatting about for a second there really does pertain to this issue of preemptive state control like a sort of a minority report preemptive justice you know you can't be trusted with guns because you might end up shooting someone down the road you know this preemptive control and um it's sort of the same principle with the quarantine and preemptive quarantine you know even if you're if even if you're asymptomatic which is just a fancy word for healthy if you are you have to wear the mask or you have to stay home and this sort of preemptive justice has become really uh really a problem literally just existing anywhere on this planet all of a sudden you're a danger to the public and you've been dubbed and you can see how language changes right it was first just tolerate tolerate the lgbtq plus and everything other letter they have attached to it just tolerate and now you have the homosexual choir coming out saying we're coming after your children and so the language is always changing and we shouldn't we shouldn't trust it we shouldn't we shouldn't trust it at all in biblical law a case had to be established by three witnesses there was no preemptive justice you had to prove and establish your case and and that's really where the humanistic paradigm comes into play here with all of this this unqualified medical freedom framework i don't know what else to call it but you're giving away the farm on this issue so any principle that you want to stand on if you give unqualified preemptive control you have just given unmitigated and interminable power to the state to do whatever it wants to do and i think that's where christians really need to develop a theology of the state so that we can not acquiesce to whatever is said and stand on principle on the word of god itself we have another anonymous listener who says i am in a church that stays neutral on the medical mandates that have been actually destroying the lives of many in our nation is it good enough to be neutral on these things and allowing uh the congregants to make up their own minds by gravitating toward whatever source of information they most trust or do you believe that it is the duty of church leaders to be exactly honest on truth and would that require them agreeing with what your mandate has implied sure that's a really good question because um for one principally speaking i believe that there is no neutrality um when we when we have a revelational epistemology we understand god has revealed himself that's how we know things he has laid principles out in scripture there are certain things that we would say and we talked about this in the declaration there are things we would say are the realm of the family specifically health care the church's intersection with that would be being able to teach and proclaim for example the message of health for all of life being able to teach self -government those principles are there you need to take care of yourself don't farm your health out into the you know the the whims of the pharmaceutical companies and so on so i think that there's kind of a multi -layered approach to this one there's no neutrality but two i think the church can and the elders should be able to look to scripture and say things that are here in the declaration that christ has all authority um that that the bible does not teach unending jurisdiction for the state that they get to tell whatever they want to tell but you might have someone in the church who may genuinely believe the masks work um they're not they're not in favor of the government tyranny and overreach they're not in favor of businesses closing down but maybe they're a little uh they may be fearful or they might just really think well maybe the mask will work then they can wear the mask and who are we to to bother them we may converse with them and say well actually you might get sicker if you keep wearing a mask um you may be able to talk about those things and those those could be the different churches um but i think the church needs to be able to powerfully proclaim the word of god the law word of god so we know where the state should be standing where the family stands but you can't just ride the neutral train eventually the nazi guard is going to show up and ask if you're hiding jews in the basement and you need to be able to actively deceive them so as to protect lives because they're going to manipulate the truth and and and and unfortunately someone may be hauled off to the gas chambers so you know again a different example different metaphor but the principles there righteous deception like rahab is a biblical category we need to be able to not just stand on the neutral fence but actually and actively participate in our jurisdictions like the family or the church and then promote it from there ronald in eastern pacific county long island wants to know what is your reaction to your opponents who believe that being preoccupied with the issues you are discussing today are nothing more or less than a detraction from the proclamation of the gospel which would obviously be first and foremost in the hearts of all those who are truly regenerate and members of the body of christ there may be even some who have loved iron sharpens iron radio who think that giving so much time to these issues is a detraction from the presentation of the gospel that it has become known for for many years how do you respond to that brother yeah interesting well certainly there are people who think well on the minors and and that's just a distraction and of course it's not really a distraction in fact teasing out the implications of the gospel is part and parcel to the proclamation of it what i might call a worldview evangelism you have first corinthians 15 for example where he talks about at the very start the gospel is the is this thing that's historical thing that happened jesus died according to the scriptures he was buried he was raised according to the scriptures and then you might think well paul has done his job after being distracted by talking about other issues he finally gets to the gospel 15 chapters in and uh but then he keeps going and he talks about the the fact that jesus rose and appeared and not only did he appear he ascended to the heavens and he exceeded and he has the second atom is going to put his enemies under his feet and then he goes on to the very last verse in 58 he says that your labor and the lord is not vain now i'm not saying that the rest of that is the gospel but it's certainly part of the gospel in the sense that the ramifications are there the ramifications of the sun existing means that light and heat is coming to the world now i don't see it as a distraction at all i think a lot of people we get this when we preach against abortion oh you're you're you just should just be preaching the gospel well a how many people have you preached the gospel to on the street that would be a question i would have how many how many people have you engaged with the gospel this week at your job and unfortunately a lot of responses well maybe not as many but there's not this this view where you just preached the gospel has become reduced it's a truncated view of the kingdom and we're missing the implications of the gospel and that's why it needs to be a worldview evangelism because i'll tell you what the amount of people that we've been able to influence outside of the church i'm talking to visible church here is astounding that people who wouldn't name the name of christ heard what we were doing and wanted to know more and so i would argue that actually opens the door for greater gospel proclamation and i've just just experientially i've seen it happen to be able to give a coherent answer on vicks vaccination and why it's a problem suddenly i all of a sudden was being able to show up to medical freedom rallies several times a year and being able to preach and i would share christ so it's actually um i would say it's kind of a false antithesis to say well you know you should just preach the gospel well i think that's part to it we are we are preaching the gospel through this the gospel of christ authority and how his authority spans into the world and who gets that authority and who who's allowed to do things with that authority and so on now isn't it true uh that the fda the food and drug administration has not even approved of this vaccine or these vaccines plural i should say yeah they're all still an emergency authorization so their companies are like pfizer and others are really trying to get that approval it hasn't gone through that i've seen i do know that they're functioning uh strictly with with that quote -unquote emergency emergency use and by the way chris i don't know if you're tracking the various reporting systems um but we've already lost over 10 000 lives from the vaccine wow and that and that number isn't even fully updated it's behind several months because the reporting process is quite vigorous and we already know from a harvard study years ago that it's severely under reported the adverse reactions are in the tens if not i think it's up to hundreds of thousands of people have experienced adverse reactions so when the cdc came out and said about 10 000 people died from covid the rest with covid and suddenly we had sort of a jarring problem there of reporting it's interesting because i have said months ago i think we'll see more people die for vaccines than actually those who died from covid and and we're well on track for that now have not the alarm have have not the pharmaceutical companies who manufactured these vaccines protected themselves from lawsuits uh so that those who are getting seriously ill or dying uh the families or the people themselves if they survive but have been harmed have no recourse to sue correct the national childhood vaccine injury act of 1986 which is signed by reagan um basically says you there is there is no liability for those companies they have zero liability there are vaccine courts that do have payments but that's just sort of hush hush let's just keep things on the up and up but you you can't just walk up and and sue pfizer because you had blood clots after taking the vaccine and a lot of people don't know this it's sort of under the radar but it's really quite disturbing that there's no liability which of course flies in the face of biblical law where god does care about liability that people are liable like the goring ox principle there there is a liability that should be there but not with the vaccine not because of the national childhood vaccine injury act now is there any uh most prominent age group or physical pre -existing physical condition uh that would uh that would uh describe the majority of those who have died from this or have been seriously harmed from this from these vaccines yeah well i think we've seen that we've seen a variety of people we've seen young teenagers get it and have a heart attack and die wow young health ostensibly healthy people 14 15 year olds you can go to the various reporting vaers .hhs
01:44:05
.gov and you can see this the fact now you don't know their name there's confidential stuff there but you can see the age and you can see what happened but we're seeing teenagers uh essentially just die of a heart attack 14 15 16 years old um even college students so younger people it seems i don't have the stats in front of me right at the second but it seems like we're seeing a lot of adverse reactions from younger people um but i'm sure it's you know older older middle to older ages are still seeing the same thing all right we have to go to our final break it's a lot more brief than the other breaks uh if you have a question that you would also like to have asked and answered by jason garwood please send it in quickly because we are rapidly running out of time chrisarnsen at gmail .com
