Tell me again how jesus and god let you judge. Because everything about jesus says not to.

False. I also have this world war ii uh bulletproof uh metal plated bible um so i can shoot at it uh over and over again because i obviously hate christianity.

Judging Righteously in Matthew 7

What so use their religion to be a piece of this video is a video of a different stripe altogether right. Hating god is trending in various corners of the internet. I mean you can scroll through tiktok for five minutes and you'll find people mocking christianity twisting scripture and throwing out hot takes like it's some kind of sport.

Today we're going to take a closer look at what's really going on behind the hate and why even in the middle of all the noise jesus still stands unshaken. My name is nate zalla and this is wise disciple where i'm helping you become the effective christian that you were meant to be.

Seeing all these christians on tiktok saying they are allowed to judge as long as it's righteously reminds me that it's not normal to read your bible every year. My parents made me read my bible cover to cover every year.

So why do i a pagan know your book better than you do. You we shall see won't we. When you say you can judge righteously there is literally a verse of the sermon on the mount matthew 7 1 to 2. Judge not.

I apologize that's kjv. That is the version i was raised on judge not lest ye be judged. For if if thou judge judge ye will be judged. You will be judged as thou.

Judge it. So i mean she's not wrong. All. Right. Look at this matthew chapter 7 verse 1. Judge not that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

But wait there's more right. And there usually is with stuff like this. Let's just keep reading for context. Why do you see the speck that is your brother's eye but do not notice the log that is in your own eye.

Or how can you say to your brother let me take the speck out of your eye. When there is the log in your own eye. You so then think about how this should finish if this lady is correct. You hypocrite therefore you should not judge anyone.

Is that isn't that how it should end. Right. The jesus teaching here in matthew 7. Therefore let everyone do whatever they want and never say a thing about it. Right. That's not what he says. Verse 5.

You hypocrite first take the log out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to what judge the other person. Take the speck out of your brother's eye. Right. He's telling them to judge. He's just saying when you judge don't be a hypocrite when you do it.

I mean this is a really super basic comprehension question of the passage. Right. What is jesus. Really.

Saying you know in other words if you judge people and if you judge people you will be judged to the same extent that you judge others also your lord and savior you love so much. Look the pharisees in the eye and said if thou hast not sinned cast the first stone.

Okay. So notice first. Um this person.

Did not continue to read the verse in its context. Right. Matthew 7. Okay i did. But she didn't. Because if she did then she would recognize that it's not what's. It's not actually uh saying what she thinks.

It's saying as a matter of fact. Jesus goes on to say when you judge do it righteously all right. Look at this john chapter 7. Verse 24. Do not judge by appearances but judge with right judgment. This is jesus speaking.

He's inviting uh by the way not just anybody but his very enemies. Okay these were those who were saying that he was possessed by a demon. He's inviting them to judge what he's doing. But he's saying when you do it do it in the proper way.

And that actually is commensurate with what he taught in matthew chapter 7. When you judge don't be a hypocrite. Don't judge improperly. Do it properly. First remove your own log and then you can judge the other person.

Okay the second thing that's going on here is uh she's conflating two different things all together. Take a look at this john chapter 8. Actually uh let's pick it up in verse 2. So early in the morning jesus came again to the temple.

All the people came to him and he sat down and taught them the scribes and the pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and placing her in the midst they said to him teacher this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.

Now in the law moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say this. They said to test him that they might have some charge to bring against him. Then jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.

Okay now at this point you know this is a setup. Right. Why. Because the man is nowhere to be found. Right. Look around in the story the man who was also a part of this bedroom activity this act of adultery is nowhere to be found.

This is a setup for jesus to say something so that uh these people could find fault with him and charge him. But jesus sees through the ruse. But he also guess what judges the woman. Watch this verse 7.

And as they continued to ask him he stood up and said to them let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her. Hold on a second by the way throwing a stone in order to end someone's life.

That's not what jesus was talking about in matthew 7. You realize that. Right. Let's keep going verse 8. And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it they went away one by one beginning with the older ones.

And jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her woman where are they has. No one condemned you to end your life. That's what he means verse 11. She said no one lord.

And jesus said neither do i condemn. You go. And from now on sin no more. Oops that sounds like judgment. Jesus. Right. From now on woman stop sinning. Stop doing that adultery thing. Right. Oh jesus how dare you be so judgmental.

Right. Didn't you just back in matthew 7. Tell everyone.

Not to judge people. Tell me again how jesus and god let you judge. Because everything about jesus.

Says not to false for someone who says that they've read the bible you know that they missed all the stuff. Where. Uh what jesus overturns the money changers tables. Right. Uh jesus calls the pharisees whitewashed tombs.

He calls them hypocrites. Right. He tells people their children are the devil. Um he says that anyone who doesn't believe in him has been judged already. You know all judgmental things to say. By the way i mean this is pretty basic jesus 101 at this point.

Prayer, Discernment, and When Not to Argue

Yeah as everyone knows i really try to be as disrespectful as possible uh with my work and uh to show how disrespectful i am. I'm going to show you some of the things that i uh have in my possession that i collect that i think of very fondly to make sure my disrespect is going to the greatest possible potential that i can get it.

I have all these little religious objects and and statues. Statues uh we have crucifixes we have various depictions of jesus and mary. I also have this world war ii uh bulletproof uh metal plated bible um so i can shoot at it uh over and over again because i obviously hate christianity and christians and anyone who's even involved in.

Faith what in the. You know there's a time for all things right. Uh there's a time to engage folks and to answer arguments and challenges with truth and clarity. But i suspect for someone like this this is not a time for that.

This is a time to pray and to ask the lord to intervene. You know when a person like this already hates christianity uh already hates christians and people of faith showing that her logic is inconsistent or that she doesn't understand the scriptures is only going to enrage her further.

What this person needs is a lot of prayer and maybe psychological help. I mean i don't want to sound condescending i just i say this out of concern. You know if she hates christians and is shooting bibles what else is she gonna shoot.

Right i keep this really heavy brass crucifix around so i can chuck it at people's heads. Um we have pictures of mary that i will blow up with dynamite. Overall i think i have a good setup.

Of hurting as many people as possible. Wow this person i mean it it's it's so outlandish they're either like exaggerating or lying in order to be melodramatic for the video. Or uh she's serious and the authorities need to be notified about her.

You know i'm reminded of those uh jesus healed from possession and i'm not trying to make some connection here. I just you know i don't i don't think this girl is possessed but the reason why i bring this up is you got to imagine like the man hanging out in the tombs of the gadarenes right.

The moment jesus healed him he became a different man completely. You know this young lady can become a completely different woman if she were to meet jesus and let him heal her. So let's uh let's remember to pray for her you know.

Okay. So this person isn't talking there's music playing so i have to mute it. But um there's a message that's written on the screen so i'm going to read the message. I have been very critical and against the church and organized religion most of my life.

I don't know why but recently i've been feeling this pull towards jesus and i never expected that i'm both incredibly confused and overwhelmed. How do i let the anger that i've held on to for so long finally go.

How do i trust something i cannot see. How do i trust someone i feel has failed me my entire life. What helped you trust in him. Wow uh so so this video is a video of a different stripe altogether right.

But um praise the lord you know look this is a wonderful example of what i was just telling a brother the other day you know. And what i was saying to him was you. And i need to have the discernment to recognize that underneath people's intellectual arguments and challenges is very often real pain very bad experiences and anger and hurt frustration.

Right. And i suppose i mean that's what i was saying a moment ago with the other video like we need to know when to give arguments. Uh you know. And then when to put those arguments away and to show people the love of christ.

Right. I mean that's what this lady is reaching for that she's reaching out in some small way in the midst of you know her whatever her experience was her pain and anger she's reaching out and asking for folks like us to help her.

Let's help her. Ladies and gentlemen look at this psalm 13 verse 1. How long oh lord will you forget me forever all. Right. This is david. You know this is someone who the lord would say is a man after my own heart.

Right. David had a number of moments where he felt uh a bit like this young lady. How long oh lord will you forget me forever. How long will you hide your face from me. It is normal for god's people to feel far from him and to feel like he's not there at times even though that's not true it certainly feels like it at times that god is not there.

And you know i it feels uh it feels crushing sometimes. And this young lady is not alone in feeling this way. You know particularly when others around you who you trusted who have hurt you and betrayed you.

Right. And then god didn't stop it. You know what i mean. You would be asking the same question that david is asking. But the reality is you are not alone. This young lady is not alone. God is always present and he is near to those who are broken in spirit.

Psalm 34 18 said this very thing. Take a look at this. The lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the lord delivers him out of them all.

So the problem for many of us is not that the lord is not there. It's that we have no patience to wait on him in the trial. In the suffering you know we smuggle in these uh preconceived notions like all pain and suffering must be bad that there can be no purpose for any kind of suffering whatsoever.

And that's just not true. And so what this lady needs to do is accept the invitation of god. Right. Because the promise is clear jesus in matthew 11 says come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest.

Right. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For i am gentle and lowly in heart. And you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Everyone who is heavy-hearted and weary can come to jesus and take his yoke upon them.

His teachings the things that he was communicating that give eternal life. Right. You have to repent and believe in the name of jesus christ and spend time with him and his teachings. But you will find peace.

That is a promise that i have received personally and that is a promise that you will receive too if you put your trust and faith in him. See. She's saying that she can't see god. Right. But she can't see us though you know what i mean.

So so i'm talking to my brothers and sisters. Right. She can see the love that we have to give her. That is something that she can't see amen. So let's show it to her let's help her find.

Trusting God Over Human Relationships

The peace that she's looking for. Something that i really don't understand about christiane as an.

Agnostic lesbian with bpd is the fact that you're supposed to be an agnostic lesbian with beep. Okay so so. She was talking really fast. Okay so so. She has bipolar bipolar personality disorder okay.

Got it god before. Like even people that you know personally like your significant other your family your best friends. Like because you know you know the people you're close with but you don't know god.

So i'm supposed to put so you're telling me let's say i'm in a relationship right. I'm supposed to involve some man that i never even met that i don't even know that never even talks to me over the love of my life assuming it makes sense that she would say this.

I mean uh none of that would make sense to someone who clearly doesn't hold to the values that the bible teaches. But you know it i wonder if she's ever given thought to the consequences of her own suggested worldview.

Because i can kind of hear it uh underneath her challenge right now right. So it sounds like she desires to put a person above everything else in her life. Right. Definitely not god. She wants to elevate another human being to this role.

Well here's the question what happens when that person lets her down. What happens when flawed and imperfect people. Which i mean let's face it. That's exactly what we all are let her down. Will she not spiral and crash out over that.

Will she not be devastated that the person that she's elevated to the top of the list presumably above family and everything else in her life disappoints her. And let's face it uh when you place anybody at the top of the list like that it's only a matter of time before you are let down.

Why. Well because no human being can live up to that expectation and trust me. I mean there there are a million ways that someone can let you down. You know i was in a relationship in college. This was way before i was saved you know.

And i told this person uh that i was dating. I told her that i loved her and because i had elevated her to the top priority in my life above everything else i was so devastated to discover that she didn't love me back.

You know we were together we were dating. She had feelings for me. But in that moment she didn't feel the same and it was crushing. Now uh yeah what do you. What do. You can chalk that up to the folly of youth.

Right. But the reason i bring that up is because it's the same thing here. This young lady has no idea what she's actually proposing. Psalm 146 says. Put not your trust in princes in a son of man in whom there is no salvation.

When his breath departs he returns to the earth on that very day his plans perish. Okay. So in other words don't trust in people that's only going to lead to disappointment and unreliability in the long term.

But instead watch this verse 5. Blessed is he whose help is the god of jacob whose hope is in the lord his god who made heaven and earth the sea and all that is in them who keeps faith forever. Huh. That's an interesting line.

The lord keeps faith forever. He is now another word for faith is steadfast. Right. Maybe another way to say that is loyal. In other words you can count on the god who is steady and constant and reliable and will never let you down.

This sentiment is repeated over and over in the bible. You know look at this psalm 100 verse 5. For the lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever. And his faithfulness to all generations. Right.

Psalm 117 2. For great is his steadfast love toward us. And the faithfulness of the lord endures forever. Praise the lord. But this young lady has no concept for this. She can't imagine a world where she places god at the top of priorities.

But if she did i think she would she would quickly recognize that she would have peace. Why. Well because the only way to have peace is to trust in the god who is reliable and steady.

And is worthy of all our honor and praise and our trust. Like let's say i have one right i'm supposed to put him over her when i don't even know him. Why am i adding some random man to have a position of authority if i'm in a relationship when i don't even know god.

I never even met him. Like i would know my significant other. Like in this hypothetical situation. But but i don't know. I don't know god. I never even met him. My significant other she never even met him either.

We don't know god yet. We're supposed to put him above each other when we never even met him. And something that i've heard people i saw some of bpd say this is that when you have a favorite person and you have bpd you're putting a person above god.

And while i definitely agree that the attachment that we have when we have favorite person is extremely unhealthy and that you know we need therapy for it okay before she.

Finishes that sentence. Let's just let that admission sit for a moment right. So she recognizes the problem with what i was saying a moment ago right. With elevating a person to where god should be in your life.

Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I mean again i understand why this doesn't make any sense. You know this. This young lady has no sense of of what christianity teaches. Um probably because there are no stakes in her life right.

Uh there is. No there is no concept of sin. Uh in this lady's reality there's no concept of heaven and hell right. In her mindset right. Like who knows what she thinks about the supernatural realm. I don't know.

But because she operates without these concepts well then there's nothing really at stake. So of course it makes no sense right. But the question is what if she's wrong. What if there really is a supernatural realm.

Like at the same time you know because two things can be true at once i don't think we should have to put god before anybody that we're close with. What if god and.

Jesus and heaven and hell are all real though. You know what i mean. Like how would she determine this. Would she continue to remain jacked into the matrix and gain more tiktok followers with all her content.

Or should she go engage with some christians who can help her recognize what she's missing. You know the fact is jesus was a real person and he did claim to be god in the first century. But then guess what.

He rose again from the dead in order to prove that he was. And i and i know a number of you in the audience we can make these kinds of arguments we can have this kind of conversation. We can offer these proofs to this young lady.

But i suspect that she's not ready to hear any of it. And it's not because my arguments are insufficient. It's because she loves her lifestyle too much to let it go. The bible shows us the psychology behind rejecting god.

Ladies and gentlemen and it has very little to do with hearing insufficient arguments. And you know everything to do with loving sin. Look at this. The first 19. This is the judgment. Uh john 3 verse 19 the light has come into the world.

And here it is people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. This is jesus speaking to nicodemus. And he's absolutely right. Uh it's not like we're just a bunch of intellectuals you know.

And and we're sitting around with our our legs crossed in the smart way. Right. Having a morally neutral discussion about metaphysics. No as it turns out we christians are sinners who have been forgiven trying to convince other sinners to let go of their sin and follow jesus.

A lot of people will not do that without.

Hostile Rejection of Christianity and the Call to Pray

Putting up a fight. My last point that i'm gonna bring is the fact that a lot of people who are christian are pieces of not saying all of them but it's like you'll drink you'll lie you'll cheat you'll steal and you'll be like oh but i accepted jesus christ as my savior so i'm saved i'll be fine.

And i have morals because i'm a christian so use the religion to be a piece of. I can't even with all this. Okay i swear to god a lot of you need help and a lot of you are in a cult and you don't even realize it.

I already know someone's gonna comment being all like oh my god forgive her. Oh my god bro i you know i already know i'm gonna get those comments. My god forgive her jesus christ lord. You guys really need to look into what i'm saying.

Um here's why i wanted to.

This video there are most likely people you know in your life that are just like this. It's not that they're open to christianity and asking you questions. And praise god for the the folks that do these kinds of folks.

They're angry they're sometimes hurt. They're definitely hostile to our faith. And the question is what should you do about that. But here's a tough answer for you. And you ready do not do not get into arguments with these people.

How do i know that. Because the bible tells you not to look at this. Proverbs chapter 9 verse 7. Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury. Do not reprove a scoffer or he will hate you.

Reprove a wise man and he will love you. Jesus reiterates this same sentiment to matthew 7 6. Don't give dogs what is holy. And don't throw your pearls before pigs lest they trample them underfoot and then turn and attack you.

Somebody might be saying well wait a second nate you know like what do we do then with people like this. Right. Pray for them. Pray for their souls these folks right here they're your stated enemies. I mean they are saying it out loud with their mouths.

Pray for them. Seek their best. Show them the love of christ. By the way am i telling you to never speak to these people. No what i said was do not get into an argument with these people as a matter of fact.

Uh there are ways to engage these kinds of folks and get them thinking um and you know without devolving into argumentation i actually i give a talk on this. I was just at the bless god conference uh teaching this very thing which is probably its own video for another time.

Okay. But i look i've said enough all right. Do me a favor. Let's pray for these people right. One of them in particular appears to be turning away from their lifestyle and seeking the lord. Praise the lord.

Let's pray for it. And let's pray for those like them who don't make videos all right but are going through the same things. Amen. And let me remind you i said worse things than these ladies. And by the grace of god i stand before you today.
