00:09
Genesis 45 Then Joseph said to his brothers,
00:41
Please, come near to me. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
00:49
So now do not be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here. For God sent me before you to preserve life.
00:57
For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.
01:04
So God sent me before you to establish for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive for a great remnant of survivors.
01:12
So now it was not you who sent me here, but God. He has sent me as a father to Pharaoh, and Lord of all his household, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
01:22
Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, Thus says your son Joseph, God has sent me as Lord of all
01:29
Egypt. Come down to me, do not delay. And you shall live in the and your children's children, and your flocks, and your herds, and all that you have.
01:42
There I will also provide for you, for there are still five years of famine to come, lest you and your household and all that you have be impoverished.
01:51
And behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see, that it is my mouth which is speaking to you.
01:59
So you must tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and all that you have seen, and you must hurry and bring my father down here.
02:07
Then he fell on his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.
02:13
He kissed all his brothers and wept on them, and afterward his brothers talked with him. Now the news was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying,
02:22
Joseph's brothers have come. And it was good in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants.
02:27
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, Say to your brothers, Do this, load your beasts, and go to the land of Canaan, and take your father and your households, and come to me, and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.
02:43
Now you are commanded, Do this, take wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
02:52
Now do not concern yourselves with your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.
02:58
Then the sons of Israel did so, and Joseph gave them wagons according to the command of Pharaoh, and he gave them provisions for the journey.
03:06
To each of them he gave changes of garments, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of garments.
03:15
Now to his father he sent as follows, Ten donkeys loaded with the best things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and sustenance for his father on the journey.
03:26
So he sent his brothers away, and they departed. And he said to them, Do not be stirred up on the journey.
03:33
Then they went up from Egypt, and came to the land of Canaan to their father Jacob. And they told him, saying,
03:39
Joseph is still alive, and indeed he is ruler over all the land of Egypt. But his heart was stunned, for he did not believe them.
03:48
Yet they told him all the words of Joseph that he had spoken to them, and he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to carry him.
03:55
Then the spirit of their father Jacob revived, and Israel said, It is enough.
04:00
My son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die. Mark 15.
04:11
And early in the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes in the whole Sanhedrin immediately held council.
04:18
And binding Jesus, led him away and delivered him to Pilate. And Pilate questioned him,
04:24
Are you the king of the Jews? And he answered him and said, You yourself say it.
04:30
And the chief priests began to accuse him of many things. Then Pilate was questioning him again, saying,
04:37
Do you not answer? See how many accusations they bring against you. But Jesus made no further answer.
04:44
So Pilate marveled. Now at the feast he used to release for them any one prisoner whom they requested.
04:50
And the man named Barabbas had been in prison with the insurrectionist who had committed murder in the insurrection.
04:56
And the crowd went up and asking him to do as he had been accustomed to do for them. And Pilate answered them, saying,
05:03
Do you want me to release for you the king of the Jews? For he was aware that the chief priest had delivered him over because of envy.
05:11
But the chief priest stirred up the crowd to ask him to release Barabbas for them instead. And answering again,
05:18
Pilate was saying to them, Then what shall I do with him whom you call the king of the Jews? And they shouted again,
05:24
Crucify him. But Pilate was saying to them, Why, what evil did he do?
05:30
But they shouted all the more, Crucify him. And wishing to satisfy the crowd,
05:36
Pilate released Barabbas for them. And after having Jesus scourged, he delivered him over to be crucified.
05:42
So the soldiers took him away into the palace, that is, the praetorium, and they called together the whole
05:48
Roman cohort. And they dressed him up in purple. And after twisting a crown of thorns, they put it on him.
05:55
And they began to greet him, Hail, king of the Jews. And they kept beating his head with a reed and spitting on him.
06:02
And kneeling they were bowing down before him. And after they had mocked him, they took the purple rope off him and put his own garments on him.
06:11
And they led him out to crucify him. And they pressed into service a passerby coming from the countryside,
06:18
Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross. Then they brought him to the place
06:25
Golgotha, which is translated Place of a Skull. And they tried to give him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it.
06:33
And they crucified him, and divided up his garments among themselves, casting lots for them to decide who should take what.
06:41
Now it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the inscription of the charge against him read,
06:47
The king of the Jews. And they crucified two robbers with him, one on his right, and one on his left.
06:53
And the scripture was fulfilled, which said, And he was numbered with the transgressors. And those passing by were blaspheming him, shaking their heads, and saying,
07:03
Ha, you who are going to destroy the sanctuary and rebuild it in three days, save yourself by coming down from the cross.
07:11
In the same way, mocking him to one another, the chief priests also, along with the scribes, were saying,
07:18
He saved others, he cannot save himself. Let this Christ, the king of Israel, now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe.
07:27
Those who were crucified with him were also insulting him. And when the sixth hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour.
07:36
And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani, which is translated,
07:45
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? And when some of the bystanders heard it, they began saying,
07:52
Look, he is calling for Elijah. And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine and put it on a reed and gave him a drink, saying,
08:00
Let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down. And Jesus, uttering a loud cry, breathed his last.
08:08
And the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who was standing right in front of him, saw the way he breathed his last, he said,
08:19
Truly, this man was God's son. And there were also some women looking on from a distance, among whom were
08:26
Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and Joseph and Salome, who, when he was in Galilee, were following him and serving him.
08:35
And there were many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem. And when evening had already come, because it was preparation day, that is, the day before the
08:44
Sabbath, Joseph of Arimathea came, a prominent council member, who himself was waiting for the kingdom of God.
08:52
And he gathered up courage and went in before Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. And Pilate wondered if he had died by this time.
09:00
And summoning the centurion, he questioned him as to whether he had already died. And ascertaining this from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
09:09
And when Joseph had bought a linen cloth and took him down, he wrapped him in the linen cloth and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out in the rock, and he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.
09:21
And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph were looking on to see where he had been laid.
09:31
Job 11. Then Zophar the Namethite answered and said, Shall a multitude of words go unanswered, and a man of lips be in the right?
09:40
Shall your boasts silence men, and shall you mock and none rebuke? You have said,
09:46
My learning is pure, and I am innocent in your eyes. But would that God might speak, and open his lips against you, and tell you the secrets of wisdom?
09:55
For sound wisdom has two sides. Know then that God forgets a part of your iniquity.
10:01
Can you find the depths of God? Can you find the limits of the Almighty? They are as high as the heavens.
10:08
What can you do? Deeper than Sheol, what can you know? Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10:16
If he sweeps by or shuts up, or calls an assembly, who can turn him around?
10:22
For he knows worthless men, and he sees wickedness. So will he not carefully consider if?
10:29
Yet an empty -headed man will obtain a heart of wisdom, and the foal of a wild donkey is born a man.
10:35
If you had set your heart right and spread out your hand to him, if wickedness is in your hand, put it far away, and do not let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.
10:46
Then, indeed, you could lift up your face without moral defect, and you would be steadfast and not fear.
10:52
For you would forget your trouble, as waters that pass by, so you would remember it, and your lifetime would arise brighter than noonday.
11:01
Darkness would be like the morning. Then you would trust, because there is hope, and you would search around and rest securely.
11:08
You would lie down, and none would make you tremble, and many would entreat your favor. But the eyes of the wicked will come to an end, and escape will perish from them, and their hope is the expiring of their soul.
11:26
Romans 15. Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not just please ourselves.
11:34
Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his building up. For even Christ did not please himself.
11:41
But as it is written, the reproaches of those who reproach you fell on me. For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through the perseverance and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
11:56
Now may the God of perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may, with one voice, glorify the
12:06
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
12:16
For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers, and for the
12:24
Gentiles to glorify God for his mercy, as it is written. Therefore I will give praise to you among the
12:31
Gentiles, and I will sing to your name. And again he says, Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.
12:38
And again, Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him.
12:43
And again Isaiah says, There shall come the root of Jesse, and he who arises to rule over the
12:50
Gentiles. In him shall the Gentiles hope. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the
13:01
Holy Spirit. But I myself am also convinced about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, having been filled with all knowledge and being able also to admonish one another.
13:13
But I have written you very boldly to you on some points, so as to remind you again, because of the grace that was given me by God, for me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the
13:24
Gentiles, ministering as a priest of the gospel of God, so that my offering of the
13:29
Gentiles may become acceptable, having been sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, in Christ Jesus, I have reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.
13:40
For I will not be bold to speak of anything except what Christ has brought about through me, leading to the obedience of the
13:46
Gentiles by word and deed, in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the
13:52
Spirit, so that from Jerusalem and all around, as far as Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
14:00
And in this way I make it my ambition to proclaim the gospel, not where Christ was already named, so that I would not build on another man's foundation.
14:09
But as it is written, they who had no declaration of him shall see, and they who have not heard shall understand.
14:17
For this reason I have often been prevented from coming to you. But now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you, whenever I go to Spain, for I hope, passing through, to see you, and to be helped on my way there by you, when
14:35
I have first enjoyed your company for a while. But now I am going to Jerusalem to serve the saints.
14:41
For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to share with the poor among the saints in Jerusalem. Yes, they were pleased to do so, and they are indebted to them.
14:50
For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things.
14:57
Therefore, when I have completed this and have put my seal on this fruit of theirs, I will go on by way of you to Spain.
15:05
And I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ. Now I urge you, brothers, by our
15:12
Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints, so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and find rest in your company.
