The Great Cost of Unbelief - Part 3 — W.F. Kumuyi

They both had and walked therein and they told me directly, face to face, we will not walk therein. These rebellious people, how could it be that a day will come, a time will come, that God will give them just one heart and one way that they will fear me forever.

That is, I'm going to even do something for them, they'll fear me forever. The tendency to backsliding and going away from the Lord, I'm going to cancel it from Israel. Even the prophets of God, if they were not careful, they'd be doubting.

How can that be? But they were because of the great cost of unbelief. When God has said, this is what He will do. Everyone that wants to remain in good relationship with the Lord, say, yes, Lord, we know You are God, You are Almighty, but you are all things are possible.

God's Everlasting Covenant and Fear in the Heart

It is for the good of them, for their children and for their neighbors. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them. That's the covenant, the covenant with believers in God's great promises. And I will not turn away from them to do them good, but I will put my fear in their hearts that they shall not depart from me.

Before you move on, personalize this promise. Look at yourself as if God came to you like He came to Abraham. And one on one, God talking to Abraham, Abraham responding. Look at yourself as if God came to Moses at the backside of the desert.

Moses, Moses. And then God began to talk to him face to face, one on one. Picture yourself, God talking to you like Samuel. Samuel, Samuel. And then the conversation between the Almighty and Samuel, one on one, took place.

The Lord comes before you, and He calls you by name. And He draws His watch in your heart. I'm going to give you one heart, one way. The same heart I gave to the robbers of old. I'm going to give them to you.

And the same way I made them to walk in, I'm going to do the same for you. And then He says, I'm making an everlasting covenant with you that you will not turn away. And then He will put a spear in your heart.

That every place you find yourself, every situation you find yourself, it will not be the fear of man that controls your action. It will be the fear of the Almighty God. And then that you will not depart from Him again.

But a great promise. Do you believe the promise? Do you appropriate the promise? Do you accept the promise? And you walk by that promise of God in Ezekiel chapter 37. Ezekiel chapter 37 verse 26. Now remember, I will make a covenant of peace with them.

It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them. I will search my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore. Here is the covenant the Lord, the saint, was going to make for them.

Ezekiel's Commission to a Rebellious People

If it comes to you, well that's the word of God. That's normal. Yes, we know it. It looks normal now. But I want you to put yourself in the shoes of Ezekiel. Ezekiel, what did he not tell you earlier?

Declare my watch, whether they will appear or they will prepare. For these children of Israel, this is the rebellious house. Ezekiel, even though the people have sent thee, you too, they are like scorpions.

And they have a nature of evil. Yet, declare my watch unto them. They may not easily accept the fact, Ezekiel, the people come to you. And receive before you as my people. For their hearts are utter, their perpetualness.

After you have heard that. And you know that this is the stage. For these children of Israel. Now God comes and He says, Ezekiel, be careful now what I'm telling you. And receive now what I'm telling you.

I'm going to do something, it's almost incredible. Almost impossible. Almost unbelievable. And yet, there is the great cost of unbelief. If you think of the past. I know these children of Israel. I know their scorpions.

I know their rebellious house. I know their legitimate search of their idols in their mind. And then God is saying. Moreover, I'm going to make a covenant of peace with the person people. I'm going to change them.

I'm going to transform them. I'm going to turn their lives around. To the point you will not recognize them. Same group of people. And then He says. And God puts Himself on my tab and I could also. Shall be with them.

Yea, I will be their God and they shall be my people. And the heavens shall know that I am the Lord who sanctify Israel. You know the prophet is almost ready to give up the message and the doctrine of sanctification.

The Promise of Sanctification Despite Resistance

Let me ask you. If you preached 36 times about sanctification. About holiness. And the people just said. Shut up. Go your way. Don't talk about that again. That's impossible. Have you not learned to listen all these 36 chapters.

All these 36 messages. Have you not known that we will go our own way. And then the Lord sent you again to the same people. And said. Go declare unto them. I will sanctify. I will make holy. I will purify the house of Israel.

If you are not careful. You will be an unbeliever. You will say Lord send another person. Have you not. Have you not. For preaching such a message to the house of Israel. And they have told me. They have shown me.

They have demonstrated to me. That that's not what they want. And the Lord said. Beware lest you wander, despise and perish. A great cost. Upon you. If not the statute 38. And the heathen shall know. That I the Lord.

Cleansing from Defilement Through God's Promise

Who sanctify Israel. When my sanctuary shall be. In the midst of them. Our Lord. For evermore it will happen. Ezekiel chapter 36. Verse 25. Then will I sprinkle pure water. Upon you. And you shall be clean.

Thank you God. You know the Lord is talking to you personally. You look at your past life. Since you have gone into this world. You see the defilement. In your thoughts. The private defilement. In the secret place.

The thoughts. That create a struggle. Within your mind. The uncleanness. The defilement. The abomination. The things that must not see the light of day. The life that is so dirty. You are even ashamed to come before the Lord.

And then the Lord says. I will sprinkle clean water. Upon you. Make you clean. Be careful you do not disbelieve. That great promise of God. You don't look at your life and say. With who I know myself to be.

With all the prayers I have made. And with all the proclamations I have declared. And with all the public image I have built up. I know what is in the secret of my life. And now I don't want to deceive myself.

And take a promise like this. And run with it. The great cost of unbelief. When God speaks. You want to give yourself to the Lord. And say. Oh Lord. You are the God of all flesh. But you. All things are possible.

If you say you will do it. Here I am. I present myself before the altar of the Lord. It will be done. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you. And you shall be clean. From all your filthiness. And from all your idols.

A New Heart and a New Spirit

When I cleanse you. Verse twenty says. A new heart also will I give you. And a new spirit. When I push within you. I will take away. The stony heart. Out of your flesh. And I will give you. A new life.
