Some will try to argue that because we're all children of God, we're all going to heaven. Are we all children of God?

Well, not according to God, we're not. We see in John 1 .12, it says,

But to all who receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

So, what you see there, is not everybody is called a child of God, according to God.

Only those who receive Christ, who believe on his name, they are the ones, and only they are the ones, that have the right to become a child of God.

So, everyone is not born a child of God. Even though we're made in God's image, that doesn't make us a child of God.

And it's not that we're born from our genealogy, that doesn't make us a child of God. That's what it means when he says, not of blood, not of the will of the flesh, not by your desire, the fact that you are going to work hard at something, not of the will of man, not by the fact that you just desire to be a child of God.

No, your genealogy, your works, your desire, none of those things make you a child of God, but God.

It's only God who makes you a child of God. We start off as his enemies, but God will adopt some of us into his family, when we receive him and believe on his name.
