Nehemiah's Commission and Opposition

Nehemiah chapter 6 verses 1 to 5. Now with Cleopatra and Gesham, the Arabian, and those at the wall, sent messengers unto them, saying, Opposite, and obeyed God, and on, quietly, and definitely, and with purpose, was convinced that he was chosen by God to do something, and in desolation met his eyes.

The Vision of a New Jerusalem

And once he saw, he saw a new Jerusalem, he saw a temple, a vision that moved him. That was the vision, the vision that got him into action, and gave to his life purpose and direction. And again and again we seem to find ourselves a temple for a new Jerusalem.

God's Call Extends Beyond Ministers

Turning People from Darkness to Light

The Mission of the Church

Nehemiah's Fasting and Mourning

The little we see today, we see today as mourning in the presence of God, I mean by fast, be that long or be it short, be it hours or be it days, be that it was what came to that man of God, as he fasted, as he prayed, as he mourned.

Responsibility in a Desperate Situation

I believe it was what came to him then that moved him into action. Do I realize my responsibility? Tell me, dear people, do we realize our responsibility? Do I realize my responsibility? Builders Who Lift the Stones

Refusing Accommodation and Distraction

Preaching the Whole Counsel of God

Refusing to Change the Message

At a communion season when we have the service outside. This dear man took me aside and took me away for a walk... On a Monday night and he began to tell me... Oh no, you must change. You'll never do to speak as you spoke last night.

People will not listen to that. I said something to this effect but I cannot do anything else. What is your approach? What do you preach? Remember that when you were in your church? Not so very long ago.

Faithfulness Rather Than Numerical Success

We went to the evening service and you were thirteen. And I understand that you were just a little over thirty in the morning and thirteen at night. And you want me to change my method of approach and preaching to your method that is emptying your church?

Are the truths that is keeping the church full? He looked at me and said that. My dear brother, my dear brother, my dear people. We dare not compromise. And I believe if we are true to the truth of the world and its ordination.

We ask the pilgrims how are they going to meet the attack? Are they going to be true to God? Are they going to be attacked? I wonder will the opposition come from some of you here? They are not by lowering.

They are coming into cooperation with a cunning enemy. They invited the enemy onto the ball. Do I tell you what is happening? Desires in their hearts. There are people that could not have happened. Storms were being played through unbelief.

Trusting God for the Work

I know this is to be seen to a new kind. You die in a community and you know the wars are. Will you ask God to get you to the place where he cares for the local city?
