The doctrine of the week for this
00:11
Sunday is divine revelation. The scripture says in 2
00:16
Peter 1 verses 20 and 21, knowing this first that no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the
00:32
Holy Spirit. So divine revelation is when God reveals things to mankind.
00:38
That's what the word revelation means. And we see phrases like thus saith the
00:45
Lord upwards of 1900 times and that's just in the Old Testament scriptures.
00:51
And of course in the New Testament, we see God's ultimate revelation of himself and that he speaks to man through his only begotten son,
01:00
Jesus Christ. As Hebrews 1, 1 and 2 tells us, God who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets has in these last days spoken to us by his son.
01:17
So God has spoken and we see what he has said in the pages of Holy Scripture.
