So I'm gonna continue preaching on The devil knowing your enemy our enemy the devil and this time it's about the devil's offspring and I know that the subject matter that I've been dealing with these past few weeks is is controversial and on a more mature level in In different respects, so I wanted to be mindful of that And so parents may also just need to break it down for your little ones for your kids

And I'll do my best to keep the the the sermon at an appropriate level I also need to make a few corrections from from last week in my last sermon

I said that God was the one trying to kill Abel and To destroy the messianic seed which is not obviously what

I meant. I meant the devil it's the devil that's trying to do that because in Genesis also says that Sin lies crouching at the door waiting to pounce you and so that is what the enemy does the world the flesh the devil

I also said that answers in Genesis, which is a prominent ministry creation ministry

Do not make the mistake of thinking that they're as bad as a Democratic Party and they're not all bad

There is no moral equivalence there whatsoever Okay, that let's not get that confused the Democratic politicians are far far far worse.

Republican Party platform aligns much closer to the scriptures even though it's not necessarily in every

Everything The Democratic Party on the other hand loves the world and is of the world

And if they were honest They would call themselves the party of the world the flesh and the devil that wants to steal kill and destroy you

That really should be their motto their little tagline their campaign, you know, whatever they call it.

So Why because they blatantly attack the family they push Marxism they redistribute wealth they promote abortion

Racism the LGBT agenda all kinds of Antichrist stuff that they consider good

So it's it's totally worldly and ungodly and the list goes on but God is not mocked and they of course obviously they must repent or or they will perish and so do the ungodly

Republicans that are being hypocrites and not Doing what the

Moral law of God says to do in the public sphere So we as Christians have an obligation as well, obviously to not vote for them and to expose their wickedness instead

And I kind of left us with a cliffhanger Last time it was with the question of why did the sons of God the fallen angels procreate with human women?

Why did they do that and it all goes back to Genesis 3 15? When the

Lord God said to the serpent Because you have done this Cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field on your belly?

You shall go and thus you shall eat all the days of your life I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring or seed

He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel

And I forgot to mention One of the songs that we sang today a lot of them were very good but And I'll hail the power of Jesus name

One of the lines there is you chosen seed of Israel's race you ransomed from the fall

And a big hearty amen to that because this is actually very relevant to what I'm going to be preaching about today

God threatened the devil and Pronounced judgment on him by prophesying the serpent crushing seed or offspring of the woman

This is the very first gospel proclamation in the scriptures and as I said the that's the subject of the sermon is specifically the devil's offspring

Now the devil's mission as I mentioned before is the same as the

Democratic Party's Right is to steal kill and destroy and and to corrupt creation in general

But the offspring of the woman in particular that was the mission of the devil. That is the devil's mission and the serpent in Genesis 3 in the

Hebrews not Nahash Nahash I Want to make a dive a little deeper into this because the serpent was not a mere serpent

But also a shining one a Shining one this remember when we read from the book of Enoch and from the various passages in Ezekiel and Isaiah Where shining ones referred to?

Divination refers to communication with the supernatural world a Diviner in the ancient world was one who foretold omens or gave out divine information

Oracles we can see that element in the story Eve is getting information from this being the supposedly enlightened being right and He continues to literate readers of the

Hebrew Bible the lemon Nahash Would have intentionally so brought to mind other elements to the original readers the dispensing of divine knowledge the verb form is one and luminescence or Nahash is of the same root as Nehoshet which is copper or bronze a biblical

Now So that there's it's not just a snake right and This is important because the offspring of both the serpent and the woman can be taken in two different senses

The Natural or physical on the one hand and the spiritual or supernatural on the other hand in the supernatural sense it refers to partly the devil who was a guardian a musical cherub

Becoming prideful and rebelling against God in heaven and also motive motivating a third of the angels to rebel with him as well

These angels may have ruled and resided in the previous world that was evidently judged and destroyed prior to being replaced by the creation of our earth

God created our world in order to fellowship with his creation with Eden as a temple

He coveted the special creation dominion and nature of man and his relation to God as a son of God as The Jesus said or the biblical genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3 where it says that Adam was a son of God And it's also pointing similarly to the sons of God the

B 'nai the B 'nai ha -Elohim which referred to the angels But this was a very particular special relationship that the angels didn't have the devil and his angels

Should have been satisfied with the role and purpose that God created them for Which was obviously a different role and purpose from?

humans from men That phrase by the way the devil and his angels is from Matthew 25 41 so that is that that is the

Bible is telling you that this happened the devil led a Revolt a rebellion a mutiny in heaven against God But instead of course they sought to corrupt and to destroy the natural and spiritual work of God The promised natural offspring of the woman by their own physical hybrid offspring the

Nephilim or the Nephilim and ushering in all manner of physical and spiritual wickedness in Both the natural and spiritual sense the devil seed also points to the fallen angels and to the wicked disembodied spirits of their giant

Jesus condemned the Pharisees and called them sons of the devil in John 8 44

Now on the good side of things The natural offspring of the woman is the genetically preserved the genetically pure spiritually purified and redeemed lineage of Christ's ancestry from Adam to Israel Abraham Isaac and Jacob to Judah David King David and so on and ultimately to Christ himself the very

God man Who was that pure seed of the woman now?

On the flip side all believers are also the spiritual offspring they are the spiritual offspring of of the seed

The spiritual seed which all the Bible also says the spiritual seed of Abraham Like Galatians point to in Romans as well.

Let's go back to Genesis 6 To pick up to continue where we left off here in Genesis chapter 6 starting in verse 1

Genesis chapter 6 says when man began to multiply in the face of the land and daughters were born to them the sons of God Saw that the daughters of man were attractive

Remember that all of the angels are male Remember that and they took as their wives any they chose

Then the Lord said my spirit shall not abide in man forever for he is flesh his day shall be 120 years the

Nephilim men of stature Notorious men were on the earth in those days.

The word is also giants in the Greek. It's also translated Gigantes or gigas is giants.

And it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land man and animals and Creeping things and birds of the heavens pay attention to that For I'm sorry that I've made them but Noah found favor in the eyes of the

Lord So the term sons of God And I need a kind of fill in this a little bit the term sons of God Can always be taken to mean angels spiritual angelic beings angelic beings in Scripture Good or bad?

Good or bad? Which is contrary to the sethite view which denies that that in here it refers to fallen angels

And remember also that angels ain't okay. Angels do have bodies. Okay, they do have bodies.

They are not They're not these spiritually You know bodiless beings they have bodies and I even covered the passages in Ezekiel and Isaiah where Lucifer was a cherub who was made of these jewels and of these instruments and stuff

So angels have bodies now, there's different kinds of angels That the

Bible talks about but they have bodies So that's an important distinction to keep in mind

And they can also take human form Okay, they can also take human form very important Genesis 19 verse 4 through 5 for example says but before they

The the evil in Genesis 6 5 is not just referring to human evil to human depravity but also to the wickedness of the

There's a physical aspect and there's a natural spiritual aspect of this and both of them were being corrupted

So This is not a bare statement and judgment of radical human depravity as Calvinists we can fall into this trap and we have to be careful not to fall into that trap and over Emphasize the human depravity when that's not all that was going on in here

The Calvinist doctrine of radical depravity is that every part? Every part of the natural unregenerate man is corrupted by the fall and by original sin

Mean that the natural unregenerate sinner is utterly depraved

Okay, it does not mean that he's as bad as he can be We need to have that important distinction in our mind.

It does not mean that he's as bad as he can be Genesis Genesis 6 5 on the other hand does appear to describe utter depravity the utter depravity of Mankind with the fallen angels in the

Nephilim Especially because they attempted to corrupt God's entire creation the entire earth and the promised seed of the woman

God made such a drastic judgment he he wiped it all out right he wiped everything out so This is also an important part of our apologetics or our defense of the

Christian faith. That's what it means Whenever objectors Slander God as a cruel tyrant like Richard Dawkins, you know all these atheists and stuff like that because God sometimes

Commanded the complete destruction and annihilation of certain peoples in the Old Testament if you recall

This happened several times in the Bible and sometimes he almost completely wiped out the Jews But God was commanding in in many of these episodes

God was actually commanding the slaughter of wicked Giants. These weren't just men

Okay, these were hybrid offspring of fallen angels that were polluted by constant sin

Giants King David slayed Giants. They all throughout the Bible. They are slaying Giants slaying corrupt tyrannical wicked

So there's a very specific purpose why God was instructing and commanding

Israel to do these things Okay, so now The books of Enoch and of Joshua shed more light on this on what's going on here

The The these books are similar to the apocryphal book of Maccabees. It's not scripture it's a historical book from the from the silent era between the

Old and the New Testaments the intertestamental period and It's a it's a historical book that is historically reliable, but it's not inspired

It's not God breathed so they provide commentary these books provide commentary on the devil and his angels

How they sinned and how the biblical narrative unfolded? Okay, and the

Bible itself Refers to and quotes these very books. Okay, so first Enoch This is from the

Lexham Bible Dictionary first Enoch Resembles certain Old Testament books and form and thought and it may have influenced the authors of the

New Testament first Enoch seems to have especially influenced early

Christian understandings of angels and The phrase son of man not just Christian but Jewish as well

And first Enoch is even quoted in Jude 14 through 15 the book seems to have been popular in Judaism and Christianity during the centuries immediately preceding and following Jesus birth

First Enoch provides a more detailed picture of the biblical world of this period especially with regard to theology okay, so Jude 14 and 15 says it was also about these that Enoch the seventh from Adam Prophesied saying behold the

Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of their deeds of Ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him

This is a quote from the book of Enoch all right, so It's important to be aware of this and to not shy away from it

But to recognize its usefulness is historical usefulness. It helps to shed light on this on these issues

And the book of Enoch was actually lost for centuries Apparently and it wasn't discovered until recently like I think the late 1700s

By by somebody and was able to translate it So it was lost for a good while and only the

Ethiopian Church had it and they consider it. They consider it Godbrey they consider it part of the canon of scripture along with other books like the book of Jubilee and of Jasher.

Samuel 118 same thing and 2nd Kings 1st Kings 8 8 2 8 and 12 to 13 refers to the book of the song as Well So in Joshua chapter 10 verses 12 to 13 it says at that time

Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel and he said inside of Israel son stand still at Gibeon and moon in the valley of Aijalon and the

The Sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set forth for about a whole day

So there you go in 2nd Samuel 1 17 through 18 Says and David lamented with his lamentation over Saul and Jonathan his son

Because they died and he said it should be taught to the people of Judah Behold it is written in the book of Jasher Here is what the book the book of Jasher.

Okay, so the Bible makes a number of references to these books

Now this is what the book of Jasher itself says in chapter 4 verses 16 through 19.

God and they robbed and plundered every man his neighbor as well as his relative and they corrupted the earth and the earth was filled with violence and their judges and rulers

This is referring to the Watchers the fallen angels Watchers is another word for angels and Daniel refers to the

Watchers as well They went to the daughters of men and took their wives by force

From their husbands according to their choice and the sons of men in those days took from the cattle of the earth and the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air listen to this and taught the mixture of animals and of one species with the other literally talking about genetic engineering

Genetic fusing and chimeras and the Bible describes actually some of these creatures some of these monsters

In order therewith to provoke the Lord and And God saw the whole earth and it was corrupt for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon earth all men and all animals and The Lord God said

I will blot out man that I created from the face of the earth Yay from man to the birds of the air

Together together with cattle and beasts that are in the field for I repent that I made them

Okay, so very interesting A passage here and Yeah, it's talking about mixing stuff.

The the Bible makes references to some of these creatures like the Lilith and the screech owl and the the the what's it called the

Griffin and the Satyrs the Bible refers to these creatures and so God wanted to wipe it out and verse 19

So this is why God destroyed all of Creation in the flood because the

Some also take the view that certain dinosaurs were Destroyed in the flood because they were corrupted

That's what we see and that is you why we see God in the Bible says he wanted to destroy everything

Get rid of everything and start new so Now here is what the book of Enoch first Enoch says, okay pay attention and And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them

Beautiful and comely daughters and the angels the children of heaven the sons of God Saw and lusted after them and said to one on one another come

Let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children that's from chapter 6 and chapter 7

It says and all the others together with them the fallen angels took unto themselves wives and Each chose for himself one and they began to go into them and to defile themselves with them and they taught them charms and Enchantments and cutting of roots and made them acquainted with plants very interesting their plant drugs drugs pharmakeia

Sorcery and they became pregnant and they bear great

Giants whose height was 3 ,000 L's who consumed all the acquisitions of men and When men could no longer sustain them

The Giants turned against them and devoured mankind they devoured they consumed them and they began to sin against birds and Beasts and reptiles and fish and to devour one another's flesh and to drink the blood and The earth laid accusation against these lawless ones

They sinned against everything all creation The Nephilim in other words with a giant hybrid offspring of fallen angels and of human women

It's if it wasn't clear enough in the scriptures and we will see it's even clearer in the

New Testament It's gonna it's gonna make it even clearer But this really sheds light on what the

Bible is describing so and according to one article First Enoch doesn't interpret the

Nephilim as heroic in any traditional sense instead the book of Watchers Describes the

Nephilim as great Giants whose height was 3 ,000 L's Now an

L is an old measurement equal to about 45 inches so these Giants according to this were about 11 ,200 feet tall or over two miles

Okay. Now That's that's a discrepancy though. So don't don't get too excited about that yet Enoch is also not the only source for this interpretation of the

Nephilim It can also be found in for example the book of Giants One of the day which is part of the

Dead Sea Scrolls so this is why God God judged the entire earth and And so the the height of the

Nephilim 3 ,000 L's From Enoch 7 2 is actually it's a mistranslation. It's not a it's not correct a better translation from John Beatty in 1839 is

Says that and there were born unto them three sorts Three sorts the first were great

Giants and to the Giants were born Nephilim and to the Nephilim were born Eliud So that's a better rendering of what that passage is saying now that doesn't take away from the fact that they were still

Giants and there were different levels of Giants in the Bible as the genetic pool started to deteriorate and to dissipate

The earlier Giants were probably much taller. We're talking like much taller probably 20 -30 feet

Whereas Goliath was more like 10 11 12 feet Okay, so Now So what happened to the sons of God then the fallen angels that sinned against mankind?
