Hello, welcome back to Daily Bites of God's Word. This is Andy Cain. It is a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're taking a look at Psalm 119 verse 47. It says, I shall delight or I delight myself in your commandments which
I love. Now have you ever stopped to think about the fact that we are to love the
Word of God. It's not just enough to read it, study it, and like robotically obey it or anything like that.
We're to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We're supposed to be obeying and living like Christ out of a heart of obedience, a heart of love for God our
Creator who has saved us. And so if he has put his stamp on this book, if he says, this is my word, this is my revelation to you so that you could know who
I am and how we are to be rightly related to him and how we are to serve him, then we should love the
Word of God. We find delight in the commandments of God. We should find delight in knowing, okay, this is how
I'm supposed to live. This is what is wise. These are the types of things I should be focused on.
This is how I can live with humility and grace and mercy and peace.
These are the things I need to stay away from. These are all the things that God does not want to see me engaging with.
And so we need to love the Word of God. We need to find delight in knowing his commandments.
Is that you this morning or this afternoon? Do you delight in the Word of God? Do you find delight in studying
Scripture, reading Scripture? One of the best things you can do sometimes is just sit down and read
Scripture. Don't worry about study notes or thinking through anything. Just read it and let it be part of your mind and soul and heart.
So I pray that you will find delight in it, as I am. And I want to thank you for joining me on this daily bite of God's Word.
