Hello, welcome back today to Bites of God's Word. This is Andy Cain. It's a joy to be back with you once again. Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 44.
It says, This is picking up on verse 33 when he said,
This understanding which we talk about when we talk about the perseverance of the saints, those that have been raised to life, spiritual life, not only are justified, they have repentance and faith as gifts from God, but it is a permanent justification.
Just as when we're looking at lamentations about the unmistakable judgment of God, the finality of it, the permanence of it, the enduring nature of it, such is the case and even more so in most cases with the loving kindness of God, the salvation of God.
And so you see the Christian, the child of light saying, continually.
One of the things we fail at as Christians and we need to work on, myself included, is consistently studying the
Word of God, applying the Word of God to our lives, and letting it be the very essence of how we make our decisions and what we're thinking about and doing.
And so that's what he says here, I'm going to keep your law continually, consistently, forever and ever, as long as I have breath in my body, that is what
I want to see, the increasing sanctification, increasing obedience, increasing repentance.
This is the consistent day in, day out, desire and walk of the
Christian and of the child of light. So is that the desire of your life? Do you see yourself having a hunger and a thirst for righteousness and the
Word of truth and the Word of God in your daily life? Do you see yourself wanting to keep the
Word of God continually and consistently? Not just on Sundays, not just when you feel like it, not just here and there, but consistency.
And that is the key. And that's one of the things I hope will be the hallmark of my life. When it is all said and done, they'll say, that is someone that loved the
Word of God consistently and sought to obey it consistently. Amen. Well, I want to thank you for joining me on this daily bite of God's Word.
