What is Christian Rap?

Trying to answer the question, what is Christian rap, it's kind of complex.

At its base level, Christian rap is rap music done by Christians for the glory of God and the benefit of others.

What I mean by that is to proclaim the glory of God, to teach about God, to express what

God is doing for us in our lives. There are questions about methods and practices within that, but the main point is to make high quality, good music so the music sounds like rap music, the rhyme schemes, the patterns, the poetic devices that are used, similes, metaphors, extended metaphors, replacing yourself as an object or expressing stories and things that happened to you before in your life.

All that still happens, but it's all through the lens and the framework of explaining and expounding who

God is in the earth, in the universe, the God of the Bible, Jesus who died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.
