Good morning, brothers and sisters, and friends. Welcome to the 9th day of the 7th day of the 5th lunar month. Today, the Bible is written in John 13. The theme of the Bible is, Have you entered? Have you passed the door or entered the church?
In fact, in many religions, there are many rites of adulthood. In China, it is recorded that a 20-year-old man becomes a priest. The Jews are called Bar Mitzvah. The rites of adulthood are also called Adulthood.
Adulthood means entering a new phase in a person's life. It also means a new turning point in a person's life. The Christian adulthood is the starting point of life. This adulthood is the process of being accepted as a Jew, and becoming a part of the Jewish community.
The adulthood recorded in the 6th day of the 7th day of the 5th lunar month is generally related to the 7th day of the 5th lunar month. I think that because the non-Christians have not yet accepted Judaism, they are opposed to the approach to life and the law of Moses.
Therefore, they must approach Judaism thoroughly in order to be accepted as a part of the Jewish community. When John the Baptist preached to the Jews, it was a new warning to the Jews. He told the Jews that they could not become a part of the kingdom of God by being a Christian or a Christian.
John the Baptist told them that the Jews must also approach Judaism as non-Christians. Jesus also told his disciples to believe and follow Jesus, to take off their old clothes and put on new clothes.
This meant that they could not become a part of the kingdom of God. Of course, the 11th day of the 7th day of the 7th lunar month is just a sign to show us that we have been resurrected from the dead, and that we have found a new life in the spirit.
John the Baptist tells us in chapter 13 that Jesus is preparing a way for us to enter. This is not just a formality, but a reality. Jesus starts from these 5 main parts. 1. Washing feet. 2. Dissemination.
3. Sorrow. 4. Glory. 5. Failure. Let's look at today's chapter, John 13. Let's first look at the 1st to 11th chapter, which is washing feet. Is this what we should learn and do today? Let's take a look.
Jesus knew that he was about to leave the world, and was on his way to the Father. In the 1st chapter, he made a decision for his disciples. It was Sunday night. They were gathered together for dinner.
It was the eve of the suffering of Jesus. It was also the end of his mission in the world. It says here, He has always loved the people of the world. He taught them. He guided them. His light shone on them.
He gave them complete life. But all of this ended, and became history. Next, He loved them to the end. That is to say, until the end of the world. This is the meaning of washing feet. God loves us. He loves the people of the world.
This is not an ordinary dinner. The devil had already placed the idea of betraying Jesus in the heart of Judas, the son of Simon, the hunter. The 2nd chapter. Did Jesus know? The 3rd chapter. Jesus knew.
The Father had left everything to him. Here, everything is worth it. Everything is worth it. The 28th chapter. The 18th chapter. Everything, heaven and earth, was left to Jesus. Jesus knew that from where he came, he had to return to God.
The 3rd chapter. But he had to do one thing. Through this, he was able to show that he loved them. That is to say, his disciples. The 4th chapter. He stood up from his seat, took off his coat, put the towel on his waist, poured a basin of water, and washed his disciples' feet.
Then he used the towel on his waist to wipe them dry. The 4th and 5th chapters. This dirty work, was originally done by the common people. But at this time, at this dinner, the disciples were washed one by one.
The disciples were astonished. They did not expect to be washed by a respected teacher, a humble underling. The disciples' dignity, respect, were all affected. So, when Jesus came to Simon Peter, Simon Peter asked him, Lord, are you going to wash my feet?
Peter, with a rebellious tone, asked. Jesus replied, He said, You may not understand what I am doing now, but you will understand in the future. The 7th chapter. Peter did not ask much. He said, You must not wash my feet.
Peter thought, because Jesus is a noble Lord. Jesus replied, If I do not wash your feet, you will have nothing to do with me. The 8th chapter. This was not only a humble teaching, but also a humble display of humanity.
Do we have to be like Peter? Do we have to think that in the Church, we cannot tolerate those leaders who try to seize power, or to take up positions, or to retain positions, etc. or even to use the power of the Church to achieve personal goals, etc.
Of course, Jesus' teaching here is correct. However, his teaching has a deeper meaning. What is that? It is like a series. It shows us the first step towards the end, and also shows us how to find life again in the end.
This is Jesus here, showing us that we need to be humble, so that we can have a relationship with Him. A human being is not only humble in his feet, but also humble in his heart. And then, we must be humble in our blood, so that we can be close to all our sins.
You, Peter, must be humble. If not, you will not be in the Church. Jesus taught us to walk on the cross, to use our own blood to cleanse ourselves, to use our own clothes, to use the blood of the Lamb, to be cleansed of all impurities, to be cleansed of all dirt and filth.
There is only one effective way to cleanse ourselves, which is the blood of Jesus, so that we can be cleansed of all impurities. Please pay attention. In verse 8, Jesus said, If I do not be close to you, you will have no relationship with me.
In other words, if you want to have a relationship with Jesus, you should ask yourself, have you been close to Him? Simon Peter was close to Jesus. He replied, Yes, not only my feet, but also my hands and head.
Jesus replied, Those who have taken a bath are clean, as long as they wash their feet. At that time, the custom was that the guests should first take a bath at home, and then walk for a while before going to the host's house for dinner.
So, the host would host the guests, and the host would wash the guests' dirty feet. In verse 10, Jesus said, Those who have taken a bath are clean, so if you want to wash your feet, you do not need to do it.
When you are in contact with the world, you do not need to do it again and again. As long as you wash your feet, it is enough. In other words, Jesus referred to the custom of washing feet as a bath. That is, those who have taken a bath are clean, so they do not need to do it again and again.
Here, Jesus used the custom of washing feet to design the Old Testament. You must first wash your feet with the blood of Jesus, and then you only need to take a bath. Wash away all kinds of sins, such as greed, pride, and so on.
Jesus then continued to say to the disciples, You are clean, but not all of you are clean. Because Jesus knew that Judas was the one who betrayed Him. Notice, Judas betrayed Jesus, so he was unclean, not because he betrayed Jesus, he became unclean.
He was unclean, so he betrayed Jesus. Judas, Judas, are you clean? No, he was not unclean. Now, let us look at the second part of the Old Testament. Since we call Jesus our teacher, and we call Him our Lord, we should also follow His example.
He was on the cross, and He washed us with His blood. He was on the cross, and He washed us with His blood. He was on the cross, and He washed us with His blood. Since we are related to Him, we should also follow His example, and serve Him with love.
Jesus is our role model. In church, do you use a broom to clean the church? Or, do you use an oil cleaner? Or, do you set up a sign for the church by the highway on the 86th street? Do you love Jesus?
Do you treat every little thing as your own? Do you wash the feet of your disciples like He did? In addition to cleaning, cleaning, sweating, serving people, serving the church, you can also serve Jesus in other ways.
For example, you can attend Ronnie's church service. Or, you can temporarily substitute other people's services so that these people have a chance to practice. There is a good example among us. That is, Mr. Wang.
Last winter, Mr. Perry, Mr. Perry, Jesus is the Lord. We are His servants. We are His servants. A servant cannot be greater than the Lord. Jesus washed the feet of His disciples with the four seasons.
As His servants, we should also be willing to do these trivial things. Jesus, our Lord, is our companion. In the church, not only do we give you the opportunity to listen and receive God's words, we also give you the opportunity to act.
After you listen and receive God's words, you can act according to the four seasons, to show your love for the Lord, and your love for others. You can do this in the church. For example, when I was attending a worship service at the James Junior Church, Jesus said, Go to the four seasons, and you will have the blessing of the four seasons.
Next, Jesus mentioned again that there are people who betray Him. His mistake is to manage money. But, He did not sincerely and wholeheartedly serve. Then, why was He chosen to do this? Was it a wrong choice?
No. In verse 18, Jesus said, I know who I have chosen. But, this is what the Bible says. Those who eat my food, use their feet to kick me. Judas was chosen. He, and his disciples, and others, are all the will of God.
Now, before anything happened, Jesus told His disciples, What is the purpose? Do not wait. After something happens, they will believe that Jesus is Christ. This is verse 19. In other words, Jesus is the owner of freedom.
I am. In the third chapter of the book of Exodus, verse 14, Jesus asked His disciples, each one of them, to realize that He is Christ, Messiah, the Son of God. As His successor, the one who receives the successor, is the one who receives Jesus.
The one who receives Jesus, is the one who receives the Messiah, the highest God, in the second world. Therefore, when you are rejected, if anyone believes, they should believe that the one who rejected you, is God and the Son of God.
The third chapter of the book of Exodus, verse 21 -24, in the beginning, there was a man who did not believe in Jesus. In verse 21, Jesus said, I am the one who is real, the one who is certain, the one who is true, the one who is certain to happen.
I tell you, there is a man among you who is going to betray me. Although Jesus knew that this thing was certain to happen, in verse 18, Jesus was still very sad. His disciples looked at each other, but they did not know who Jesus was referring to.
In verse 22, These disciples followed Jesus for three years, and they were with each other for three years. They should know who Jesus was. Indeed, they did not know. Peter, the disciple whom Jesus loved, that is, John the Baptist, nodded and asked Jesus, Jesus replied, I will give a little cake to whoever it is.
This is the second example. Being able to receive a cake from the Lord at dinner is an extremely glorious thing. Also, to show Jesus' love for his disciples. At this time, Jesus handed over the cake, which had been dipped in wine, to Judas, and said to him, What you are going to do is to hand over Jesus to those who want to harm him.
Hurry up and do it. After Judas ate the cake, Satan entered his heart. It was Satan who, with thirty silver coins, drove Judas out of his mouth. Jesus was therefore sad. However, those who ate at the same table, including Jesus' disciples, did not understand what Jesus meant.
They thought that Jesus was telling Judas to go and buy things for the festival, or to go and beg for money. After Judas ate the cake, he immediately went out. It was night. Judas went out of the light and entered the dark night.
Chapter 4, Glory, is recorded in chapter 31 -35. After Judas went out, Jesus said, Now the Son of Man has received glory. The Son of Man is the name of Messiah, the Savior. In Daniel 7, it is recorded that a Son of Man came down from the clouds to those who lived in the valley.
He was brought before him. He, the Son of Man, received power, glory, and fruit. Daniel 7, chapter 13 -14. In John 13, chapter 3, it is recorded that God gave everything to Jesus, which means everything in heaven and on earth, to Jesus.
Jesus took control of everything until he put his enemy at his feet. The Son of Man is now, not the future glory, but the present glory. Chapter 31, God gave glory to the Son of Man. Since God gave glory to the Son of Man, he must also give glory to the Son of Man.
And immediately, now, the glory of the Son of Man. Without delay, the glory of the Father and the Son cannot be separated. Before Jesus left, he called his disciples. Of course, he referred to us as his children.
We are his children. Jesus said, I will be with you soon. In the future, you must look for me. How did we find Jesus? Because we cannot go At least now, we cannot know where he is. In chapter 34, Jesus said, I give you a new commandment.
You must love one another. How I love you, you must love one another. In other words, Jesus is love. We are his disciples. In this world, loving one another means that Jesus is with us. Because Jesus is love.
In this way, we can find him. Not only that, Jesus continued, if you love one another, the world will think that you are my brothers and sisters. If we love one another, we will have the glory of being father and son.
Are you close? If you are close to Jesus, if you love one another, then you are already close. Chapter 4, verse 36 -38. Simon Peter did not understand, but he decided to follow Jesus. He asked Jesus, Where are you going?
Jesus replied, Where I am going, you cannot go with me now, but you will go with me in the future. Peter could not go with Jesus now, because the great mission that Jesus had to accomplish was not what Peter could accomplish.
But after Jesus went, that is, after he ascended to heaven, Jesus ordered Peter's mission. In the end, that is, in the future, after he accomplished the good deeds, he must go with Jesus. Peter, who was the strongest, did not take Jesus' words as his final answer.
He was rational, strong, and generous to Jesus. Why? Why can't I go with you now? Even if I die for you, I am willing to die for you. In the end, Peter died for the sake of Jesus Christ, but not now. He could not die for Jesus.
Jesus said, Are you really willing to die for me? I am telling you the truth. Before the crucifixion, you will not recognize me for the third time. The third time is the 8th time. Peter, although you are close to death, you must accept the devil's teachings, renew your faith, and your will.
In this way, I will make you become my great servant. Jesus' commandment to Peter,. 1. Betray the Lord Jesus. 2. Do not recognize the Lord for the third time. These two attempts failed. However, the former was quick-witted, conspiring, scheming, scheming, scheming, and the latter was not.
He did not know what he was doing, but he was moved by the pressure. Notice, the latter, which is Peter, later repented. He was baptized. He was crucified. Because of the jealousy of Jesus, he followed Jesus.
Brothers and sisters, friends, if Jesus does not live in you, your life will not come from him. You will fail. We will fail. We know that. But, if Jesus comes to us, we will know that in the end, we will be fine.
Because, we will be with him. He will be with us. Jesus will be with us. Brothers and sisters, friends, we will eventually fail. The question is, Are you close to Jesus? Do you believe in Jesus? Are you close to him?
