路加福音 7:36-50 你是怎样的一个人?
Good morning, brothers and sisters. Welcome to the news conference on the 28th of February, 2016. Today's topic is recorded in the 7th chapter of Lujia Fuying, chapter 7, verses 36 -50. The topic is, what kind of person are you?
You are a good person. You are a good person. You are a good person. Is this you? Of course, I believe everyone here is a good person. You are a good person. You are a good person. Is this you? Do you realize that you are a sinner?
Perhaps you think that every time you hear the Word of God, it is to let the Word of God recognize your sin, to make us humble in front of God. Although this is only a short one or two hours, you will be humble, but your feelings are good.
You are proud to think that you are humble. Every sinner is condemned in front of God. There are many more sinners than those who are still wandering outside the church. Is this you? What kind of person are you?
Can you tolerate or accept other people? Is this you? These people have different cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, opinions, lifestyle, etc. Yes, we should accept them, we should tolerate them, we should reject those racial discrimination, or different political parties, or different theories, or even their unethical lifestyle.
This is the sadness of today's modern society. But you must tolerate or tolerate their unethical lifestyle. Even the law stipulates that you must accept them. But these people openly ridicule and insult you.
These people do not accept them. They even violate the law to achieve their goals. These are the people we are facing today. In this passage, Jesus shows us that there are two types of people living in today's society.
One type is those who admit their sins. The other type is those who are self-righteous. How does Jesus look at these two types of people? In verse 36, it says that there is a man named Simon the Pharisee.
He invited Jesus to dine with him. Jesus went to his house as a guest. At that time, the Pharisees were highly educated, and they were well versed in the Law of Moses. They were the protectors of the Law of Moses.
They did not reject those who did not follow the Law of Moses. It is even more difficult for them to be together with Jesus. It is even more difficult for them to reject those who did not follow the Law of Moses, or the so-called sinners.
These Pharisees are the teaching of the Jewish people, the teaching of self-determination and kindness. Perhaps this is why Simon invited Jesus to his house to dine with him. It is to praise their high virtue and holiness, and to respect and follow the Law of God.
What kind of person is Simon the Pharisee? I will stop here. In verse 37, it says, There was a woman in the city, a giant. Brothers and sisters, friends, this giant was the name given to her by the Jews who did not believe in her.
Perhaps because her life was not simple, she even sold her body. In the society, this woman was rejected and isolated. People insulted and mocked her behind her back. Everyone knows and calls her a sinner.
Jesus said, I have come to make a sinner, not a man. So, this woman came to the house of the Pharisee with her high virtue and holiness. She saw Jesus. He seemed to be the Lord of Love, and came to the house of the Pharisee.
You may ask, since she is a sinner, then why didn't Simon the Pharisee stop her? That is because Simon and his friends wanted to take this opportunity to test Jesus. In verse 39, it says, If this man is a prophet, he must know.
From this sentence, this man is referring to Jesus. This sentence, St. Lucia said without reservation, the Pharisees are evil and dark in their hearts. They do not know the Lord Jesus. Because they say, If this man is a prophet, they do not respect Jesus.
They call Jesus a sinner. They do not even have the basic etiquette to respect guests. They do not even have the basic etiquette to respect guests. Jesus said to them, They did not give me water to wash my feet.
They did not kiss me. They did not use oil to touch my head. In verse 46, It is no wonder that John the Baptist called them poisonous snakes. In verse 38, Let's look back and see what kind of person this woman is.
In verse 38, Brothers and sisters, This woman deeply knows that she is a sinner. She does not even have the courage or confidence to face Jesus in person. Because she knows that she does not deserve to come to the Son of God.
She stands on the back of Jesus with a humble heart. Brothers and sisters, Today, the Jesus who is on the cross for us has been crucified for us. We can face Him with a sincere and repentant heart. Then, Lord Jesus, God will forgive our sins.
I think that at this time, The pain and compassion in this woman's heart are intertwined. She deeply sought forgiveness. She kept crying and sobbing. Her eyes were wet with Jesus' feet. She used her own hair to dry it.
She used her mouth to kiss Jesus' feet. She put the ointment on Jesus' feet. Although this is a picture of grief and pain, But it also shows a sinner with a sincere heart, seeking the heart of the Holy Spirit.
Let's look at another painting. What did Simon and Pharisa see? What was their reaction to this woman? The Bible does not mention it. But we can learn from Jesus' teaching to see their true face. What Simon saw was Jesus' reaction.
He said in silence, If you are a prophet, you must know who you are touching. What kind of woman is she? She is a sinner. Here, Simon is explaining that Jesus is a sinner. If you are a prophet, God's servant, we are God's followers, we are saints.
We cannot live with sinners. We must be separated from them. Pharisa was such a person. They only saw their own righteousness and morality, but they did not see that they were also sinners. Do you remember what we said last week?
Do you remember what we said last week? The teaching of the woman in the shadow? At this time, Jesus, in verses 41 -43, used the metaphor of the Lord's grace to teach Simon and Pharisa. Jesus told Pharisa, The Lord's grace is to persuade the Lord to forgive too many of their sins, which means they are sinners.
God is merciful and kind. Brothers and sisters, God is a merciful God. If Pharisa comes to the Lord, if Pharisa comes to the Lord, God's grace is enough for them to use. They can receive God's forgiveness and redemption.
They love God. God's grace is to free you from the chains of sin. Therefore, we must clearly realize that we can come to the Lord. We owe too much to God, because that is our sin. Therefore, we must come to Him and repent.
Through His love and grace, we will be free from our sins. Jesus then used the woman as an example. In verses 44 -46, Because this sinner knows how great his sin is, he came to Jesus, to the Savior, with the confidence to seek the Lord's grace.
His sin will be forgiven. With his confidence, he knew that all his sins will be forgiven by Jesus. His love for the Lord was great. Then, everything that he did, such as the tears on Jesus' feet, the hair that he wiped dry, the lips that he kissed, the ointment on his feet, were all forgiven by Jesus.
This woman is what Simon said. Those who have received the grace of God, will love Him even more. This is what Simon said about loving Jesus even more. Brothers and sisters, Faith is the foundation of hope.
Faith is the foundation of hope. This is what the woman was hoping for. Her hope was that her sin would be forgiven by the Savior. This is what Jesus said in verse 48. Jesus said to this woman, Your sin will be forgiven.
This woman was a sinner who had sinned. She had sinned in her love for God. What about Simon? What kind of person was he? Simon and Pharisa were self-righteous and proud. Their eyes were blinded by darkness.
They did not really know Jesus. The Messiah they were hoping for was coming, but their eyes were blinded by darkness, so they did not really know Him. Instead, they were coldly greeting Jesus. No one washed their feet for Him.
No one kissed Him. No one touched His head with oil. They were completely blinded by their sin and self-righteousness. So they did not think they needed to save Jesus. And what about us? We do not think that we can rely on the descendants of Abraham and Abel to uphold the Law of Moses.
This is what we see in Simon. What kind of person was he? What is sad is that Simon only saw that this woman was a sinner, and not that she had sinned in her love for Jesus. The Pharisees themselves did not realize that they also needed to uphold the love of Jesus, to uphold the love of Jesus.
Are we also like Simon, a Pharisee? In this passage, we also see a person. He is the Son of God, Jesus. He was born a soldier. He lives among us. He is God. He is innocent. But He is not like Simon. He was a sinner, not a man.
He was a soldier. In verse 48, He said to this woman, Your sin is forgiven. The Pharisees thought, What kind of person is this? Only forgiving people's sins? They knew in their hearts, Only God has the power to forgive people's sins.
They should know, Jesus, who is in the same series as them, is God. He is the Son of God. He is Messiah. The Messiah they were hoping for. This is the main question. Who is He? What do you think? Did you see Him?
Did you know Him? Is Jesus our Savior? Jesus knew their problems. He answered the woman, Your sin has saved you. What we need to ask is, What kind of person is this woman? Or what kind of person? She brought a bottle of holy ointment.
She cried to Jesus. She dried her own hair. Tears tore at Jesus' feet. She kissed His feet with her mouth. She rubbed the ointment on His feet. Brothers and sisters, friends, Did you see? She believed in Jesus Christ.
Because she believed in Jesus, she was saved. She was saved. Can we be like this woman? Can we believe and accept Jesus Christ? In the end, Jesus said, Go back safely. Go back safely. I think this means, Jesus is a man of peace and trust.
Because they have been saved. They are no longer judged by God. They will forever receive a new life. They can be with God in peace. This is a promise. This is also a blessing. Brothers and sisters, What about you?
What kind of person are you? Did you notice that you are a sinner? You have to believe. Believe in the only one, Jesus Christ, as your Savior. Repent to Him and repent. He has already received a new life.
In His new life, you will receive eternal life. This is what you should do. In the Bible, this woman has been forgiven many sins. Because she had a lot of love. But when the forgiveness was less, her love was less.
Brothers and sisters, friends, What about you? Thank you for listening.
