Beware of False Doctrine

So we've been going through the book of Matthew since about 2002. Go ahead. Go ahead and turn to Matthew chapter 16 verses 5 through 12. John MacArthur says the slower the better as you go through the scriptures.

I think he was in the book of Luke for nine years Grace Community Church, so that is yeah, that's slow. But the slower the better. So Matthew chapter 16 but 5 through 12 5 through 12 the Bible reads when the disciples reached the other side they had forgotten to bring any bread and Jesus said to them watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees and They began discussing it among themselves saying we brought no bread.

But Jesus aware of this said oh you with little faith. Why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five lows for the five thousand and how many baskets you gathered or the seven lows for the four thousand?

And how many baskets you gathered? How is it that you fail to understand that? I did not speak about bread. Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. Then they understood that they he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread.

But of the teaching of the Pharisees in the Sadducees thus far as reading of God's Word. So it's pretty clear that the subject matter of these Short seven verses so we have to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

That's that's my title. I listened to maybe eight or nine sermons on this particular set of verses and it's amazing. How we can put so much into the Word of God when our goal as teachers of the Word of God is to pull out From the Word of God not put into the Word of God.

I heard sermons and guys were talking about that these verses said that God is here to make all of our dreams come true or God is not gonna hurt you if you start attending church again, so Just kind of blows my mind about how much we can miss if we don't simply just focus on the scriptures and allow them Allow them to speak to us without us putting Putting what we want into them.

So if I could take everything I'm about to say and just kind of consolidate it and condense it down into a couple sentences a couple thoughts. And I'll unpack those as I go along but those thoughts would be this Beware of the permeating and life-destroying influence of false false teachers and false doctrine.

They will work to ruin the life of the Christian and ugly destroy the life of the unbeliever. Beware of that permeating influence of false doctrine and we also must like Christ work diligently Relentlessly and tirelessly.

To lovingly warn those who are enslaved to false doctrines and in false religious systems before they go to hell forever that's basically what I'm saying if I could just kind of compact that down and then I'll Expound that what do you think the most destructive force on the planet is?

Planned Parenthood. That's a that's a number two. Yeah, it's actually rainwater. Rainwater on the planet. Rainwater is the most destructive force on the plane. You wouldn't really you don't think that you go out in a light shower and you know.

Some some rainwater hits your face. You wouldn't think how destructive but you think about Millions and millions of droplets of water hitting the earth all over the earth all at one time. It's actually the most destructive thing on the planet geo geologically it destroys everything it slowly corrodes.

But if you also think about a spiritually false doctrine is the most destructive Force on the planet. False to certain false doctrine false teachers. They send people to hell moment after moment. Can you think of anything spiritually more destructive than that then what's going on in the realm of false religions and false teachers?

I can't moment my moment day by day 150 ,000 people are Passing on to eternity every single day and if they die in their sins if they if they believe in what? False doctrines are teaching them soteriologically are about their salvation.

They're going to hell. False doctrine the influence of false teachers or leaven is so insidious that it doesn't seem destructive. But it will slowly and effectively destroy your life from top to bottom.

That's that works out for us who are the elect to. You know, of course, it's not gonna affect us salvific Lee but it's gonna ruin our life if we allow false doctrine and we allow that influence in and we begin to live that out in Our Christian walk it's gonna affect the ride here.

It's gonna affect our effectiveness dramatically just to be. And do what God has called us to do. So Last week pastor Luke had a crazy exhaustive study on the timing of the kingdom. And he showed us clearly the spiritual blindness of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

Matthew 16 3 it says in the morning. It'll be a stormy today. But the sky is red and threatening, you know how to interpret the appearance of the sky. But you cannot interpret the signs of times these guys these religious leaders who were supposed to be the representatives of God on the planet.

Here we're absolutely blind to what is going on. They're spiritually buying blind because they're dead spiritual state and because of the teachings and their example. It was because of what their influence and what they were broadcasting what they were promulgating to everybody.

That's why they were blind. Matthew 15 verse 14 says Jesus says this and these are the scariest words that you could ever ever hear. As an individual or as a nation. He says let them alone. They are blind guides and if the blind leads the blind both will fall into a pit.

So Jesus is. Jesus is coming. Jesus is first. His incarnation right. Jesus his first advent was multifaceted in purpose, of course, he was coming to be our representative. He was coming to fulfill all righteousness.

He was coming to accomplish the redemptive work of God for us, but he also came to levy judgment against the house of Israel because of. How corrupt and polluted and completely lopsided it had to become?

He says let them alone and a part of their spiritual blindness was because of The judgment of God on them. You can see all throughout scriptures from top to bottom blindness is a sign of God's judgment.

But it was not only through his judgment. It was only it was not only because of their dead spiritual state. But it was because of what they taught. And how they influenced the masses. So as we get to our verses the verses I just read 5 through 12 Jesus is setting up his disciples here for some extremely important information.

Not just 5 through 12, but the subsequent verses that we're gonna hear in later sermons. But Jesus is repeating. That's why I was listening to those sermons. I couldn't believe these guys were getting out of these passages is what they were saying or what they were teaching because it's just so Obvious that Jesus is talking about that.

We need to be aware that we need to be cognizant. We need to have our eyes open to this the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees the leaven of false doctrine. The leaven of erroneous teaching. He says that three times and as you read your Bible if there's anything ever repeated over and over.

Then you know that God is drawing your attention. He's getting you there and Jesus also used the illustration of bread. Think about their disciples these guys have been handling thousands of loaves of bread just you know He fed the 5 ,000 they fed the 4 ,000 9 ,000 not including women and children.

So the disciples are have been constantly handling and smelling and spiraling and just dealing with bread because Jesus is getting them. Not only to to feed the masses, but he's he's also getting them to understand Spiritual truths through natural examples.

That's why he's using bread here. And then Jesus says this and he does it all the time with the disciples. He says oh you of little faith. You know you so he's so dull of hearing. Do you not understand now I don't know about you.

But if Jesus said that to me, but Jesus said that to me of you why can't you understand what's going on? I'm not talking about bread here. If I wanted to create bread if I needed bread if I was talking about bread.

You know all the bread that I just hadn't created. I can make that happen. He's not talking about that. But if Jesus said that to you, I think you would get your attention. Jesus said why you just don't understand what's what's going on here.

I remember when my daughter was three or four.

You know.

I was just off in La La Land and she grabbed me just by the face. Zoe grabbed me by the face and she said you're Just not listening to me. Look at me in the face. And I said, yeah, I'm such an idiot. You're right.

You know how much more of Jesus did that to you said? What's going on here? So what is happening is Jesus is setting these men up so that he can impart to them this crazy important Truth and that's the truth of be wearing.

To be where to watch out of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. So what I'm gonna do quickly is just go through what some basic questions just unpacking really what these verses are talking about.

The biggest question is what is leaven? I'm no cook. I know there's a lot of bread makers in here. I Cannot cook anything. My wife has been out of town for about three days and I'm eating like bouillon and.

Like.

Chicken broth. Baked beans. Yeah, I just I'm not if you give their habit. You don't as a cook. That's just a sad reality you know people can spend 12 hours in a In a kitchen and just not make good food and then people can spend a couple minutes and just make a masterpiece.

That's my wife. My wife is just the greatest part about me. She can just Just make anything taste good. I think I remember one time We went to ruse Chris and it was like a hundred bucks a head. It was good I had like a ribeye and some pasta.

It was super good. But the next day she made this like Gordon Ramsay Masterpiece and I said I made the right decision with this woman, but yeah. Anyway, I can't I don't I really don't understand cooking too much but physical leaven is this it's a substance as yeast or baking powder that causes fermentation and Expansion of dough or batter it's fermented dough reserved for producing fermentation and a new batch of dough.

So leaven works through the bread slowly to cause it to rise and it's used to produce a new batch of dough for a new Loaf of bread. I think I got that. I think I got that right. It's used to slowly cause the bread to rise and it's used to produce a new batch of dough for a new loaf of bread.

So what Jesus is saying to them is we got you got to beware of the Pharisees and the Sadducees you got to beware Of all of the religious of their influence of all the religious influence that you have received already.

You cannot let them have this impact on you it's gonna slowly invade And infect and corrupt your life. That's what he's telling them. Just like rainwater slowly Eroding that's exactly what this will do to the lives of his disciples.

And he's also saying you can't mix their false teachings and ungodly example into your new lives in Christ. You got to let go of everything that that you learn with them. You got to let go of that all of their example all their erroneous Unbiblical teaching you cannot it cannot be grafted into this new life in this new creation that I have for you.

That's what he's talking about. So the question now is what is spiritual leaven? What is it? Well Luke chapter 12 verse 1 it explains it. This is in the meantime when so many thousands of people had gathered together That they were trampling one another he began to say to his disciples first beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Leaven is hypocrisy and This is how it affects us who are saved right? This is how if we let hypocrisy into our lives as Christians It's gonna erode and it's gonna affect us. It's gonna detrimentally Hurt us in our faith walk.

Leaven is hypocrisy. What is hypocrisy. Jeff went in he's already gone into so well that The Pharisees were hypocrites that hypocrisy is just it's faking it. Hypocrisy is it's heartless religious practice.

Matthew 15 verse 8 says this the people honors me with their lips. But their heart is far from me. It's it's it's a religiousness this. It's a religiosity. That's devoid of a heart, right? It's it's doing what we do without Being motivated with a love for God.

It's heart disconnected. It's really if you think about it. It's it's dead religion that flows out of a dead stony heart. It's what hypocrisy is. It's a veneer of genuine faith, but inwardly it's void of life in the spirit and full of deceit and death.

It's just a veneer. It's just this facade. It's just this game we play. Matthew 23 25 through 28 says woe to you scribes and Pharisees you hypocrites. For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate but inside they're full of greed and self-indulgence.

You blind Pharisee first clean the inside of the cup and the plate and the outside also may be clean. Woe to you scribes and Pharisees you hypocrites for you all you are all like whitewashed tombs. Which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness so you who also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are all full of hypocrisy and Lawlessness, it's just acting.

It's hard sometimes as hard as you as you're scrolling down your Facebook feed to see some of these popular preachers In the shows that they put on for the masses. I mean, this is what hypocrisy truly is it's.

It's claiming that you're doing this all for God that you're doing this all for the glory of God. But you're actually only doing it for self. You know, it's it's just it's it's rough. To think about the judgment that's awaiting these men who are just just outright charlatans and hucksters and believe me.

I sometimes I say Jerky comments on their videos when I when I read them. But I truly care about these guys are gonna face a righteous and just God and have to give an account. For these shows that they're putting on these performances that they're putting on hypocrisy is just faking it.

It's mask wearing. But I think there's also another definition of hypocrisy that I think can really bite us and really affect us as Christians. And I and I'm guilty of it myself. But listen to this definition it says hypocrisy is a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved Attitude.

So what is that? What is that talking about? Hypocrisy is just simply Man-pleasing the leaven of hypocrisy if we allow that to slowly work into our Christian experience into our lives. If we allow that Man-pleasing motive to be a part of our Christian walk then it's gonna it's gonna cause decay.

It's gonna cause spiritual decay and I've been guilty man I got. I'm the first to say I've I've been there been so overly occupied about the opinions of others fearing Man before I fear God. Doing what I do just to get the approval of people.

We kind of default to that, right? We default to that one of our greatest Wars, I think and I can't think of a greater war in the life of the Christian is to not rob God of the glory. That's due to him and him only.

You know you think about the way that we look at about ourselves and the goals that we set in our life the things that we Pursue are we truly doing this for him? Are we truly doing this to reflect the glory to one that to the one that it's do or are we just absorbing that glory?

Into ourself with the leaven of hypocrisy is exactly that. Just man-pleasing. Just doing it for me it's doing it for accolades. It's doing it for the applause. It's doing it so I can have some inner peace that I've received the the the approval of the people around me.

So I can I can sleep at night. That's what hypocrisy is it's it's not the genuine article. It's not truly the outworking of of true faith God glorifying faith, but we see that all around us. Don't we everywhere we go?

Jesus is saying beware of this don't allow this to work its way into your life. Don't allow this to work its way into your activities into your heart. So crazy important so crazy important if you if you read Matthew 6 you see it everywhere.

Matthew 6 is pretty much from Start to finish an indictment against the hypocritical man-pleasing in seen in the Pharisees and the Sadducees. Matthew 6 1 through 2 says beware practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them.

For then you will have no reward from your father who is in heaven. Thus when you give to the needy sound no trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets. That they may be look praised by others.

Truly I say to you they have received their reward. We don't want that type of reward if we're looking for man to be the source of our reward. We don't want that because the most the more you elevate yourself the more jealous people.

Man is so fickle man is so crazy. You're not gonna ever receive the type of reward and this type of substance that you're looking for in man. If you're looking to him to be that source that that makes sense if you really you're seeking that reward.

It's not worth it. It will not give you the peace that you're looking for a Matthew 6. Verse 5 says and when you pray you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the street corners.

That they may be seen by others truly. I say to you they have received the reward and then in Matthew 23 It says they do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues.

And greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others.

Beware.

Be aware of this one of the most Heartbreaking things is as I say these things believe me. I'm a brother to the body. I mean we should never slander the bride of Christ and I never want to do that. That will only cause Erosion in your own life if you're just all about Slandering the bride of Christ or any type of leadership.

But it's amazing how we see such an impotence in the American Evangelical Church because the basis of everything is man-centered. The philosophy of ministry across our nation is based on how we can please man and And not so much how we can get into the scriptures and lay our lives down for the glory and the honor of Jesus Christ.

Right. And so what does that cause it's caused so much of the church to be Impotent and evangelism in so many other ways. So importantly when you go into a church, you need to ask yourself. What are we doing?

Why are we doing what we're doing? Regardless of what it is. Are we doing it? So that we can get more people to come here and sit in the seats. So we can feel good about ourselves and we can have some semblance of success.

Much of the American Evangelical Church operates like that. That's the foundation of it all. Let's just get somebody into a location and if we got him enough butts in the seats and buildings and budgets.

Then we're somehow doing what God has called us to do. No, that is an underlying Foundation of man-pleasing that is not biblical and not right. We need to we need to be praying about Our church in America be praying that the foundations are torn up.

And once again, we lay it upon the foundation that we build upon is the Word of God all for his glory. All for his honor, right? It's just it's absolutely crucial, but it's actually that that leaven of hypocrisy has worked its way out all throughout the church.

Much of what we export overseas is just like Jeff was saying absolute garbage because of this because of this. Beware of the leaven of man-centered and man-pleasing hypocrisy that will ruin your life by infecting and polluting your whole Christian experience really from the beginning to the end.

Now leaven as it goes on to say leaven is the teaching of the Pharisees and the Sadducees not only their hypocritical Example not their desire not only their desire to be praised and worshipped and honored.

But it was the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. No, the question is what is the teaching of the Pharisees? Yeah, they taught a lot. There was a lot they added to the law of God. Much of what they did became null and void and Powerless because it was just the introduction of God of man's commands into the law of God which rendered the whole system Just crud, right?

But Galatians 5 1 through 9 really talks to us about what what the teaching of the Pharisees and the Sadducees actually is says. Galatians 5 Starting at verse 1 says for freedom Christ has set us free.

Stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Look, I Paul say to you that if you accept circumcision Christ will be of no advantage to you. I Testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.

Here it is. You are severed from Christ you who would be justified by the law you have fallen from grace. For through the Spirit by faith we ourselves eerily wait for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision or uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love you were running.

Well, who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion is not from him who calls you and here it is a little leaven leavens the whole lump. What was that little leaven? What was a little leaven that that was leavening the whole lump that was destroying the whole system.

It was Justification by your own works. You who are severed from Christ you would be justified by the law. That is the basis. That is the focus of the leaven of their teaching is that we can help somehow be made right.

Through obedience to the law of God through works through our own righteous works. Justification by works is the leaven of the Pharisees that we must beware of ourselves. And warn others to get away from now when Jesus was saying this to his disciples.

This is what they were absolutely engulfed in they were saturated in that teaching that was there. They were a lot of times Jesus would say things the Pharisees and Sadducees and and they would say don't.

Don't you know understand you were disrespected these guys these guys had such an incredible lofty Position in the eyes of the disciples and they had been so influenced by this false doctrine. But what did Jesus do at that moment?

He said you need to you must be aware of this. You cannot let this affect you. You cannot let this in. So just like Jesus said we need to we need to we need to warn those who are part of these false religious systems about What they're getting themselves into we are not saved.

By our own works in any way shape or form. So many people when you're out on the street evangelizing you get this question all the time or this remark they say. You know, there's 6 ,000 there's 7 ,000 religions out there why why is yours the only one that's true.

So you say you're telling me Christianity is wrong and every one of those other religions are false. The only answer to that is yes. That's true. But the reason is because every other religion save ours.

Will tell you that if you just pull yourself up by your own bootstraps if you try hard enough. Then maybe one day God is gonna allow you into his kingdom. Justify you make you right before him if you just if you work hard enough.

It's a works-based system of salvation true. Our true faith is a grace-based system of salvation. Meaning that our salvation rests not anything that we can do in ourselves or of ourselves. But it rests fully on the work of Jesus Christ in him alone, right?

Matthew 23 Verse 4 talking about the Pharisees says they tie up heavy burdens that are hard to bear and They lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.

It was the burden of justification by the law of God. That we cannot accomplish. Matthew 23 13 through Excuse me 15 says woe but woe to you scribes and Pharisees you hypocrites for you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces.

For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter in go in. Woe to you scribes and Pharisees you hypocrites for you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte and When he becomes a proselyte you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourself.

You think about that that is just so sobering and I and I hope this sobers you Today to get you into the into the position to where you become now a warner of those who are in false religions a Warner warning those who are a part of the Roman Catholic Church warning those who are part Of the watchtower organization Jehovah's Witnesses Mormons.

We need to be about in the example of Christ Diligently warning them of the absolute destruction and doom that is that is heading them. Justification justification by faith alone is In Christ alone is the heart absolute heart of the gospel.

It's the hinge pinch it's the it's the meat of the gospel without it the gospel falls like a like a house of cards and We just lost RC Sproul a couple months ago, and I just love Ligonier. I love that ministry.

I grew up on a pretty much grew up on a job site for the better part of my life. And I kind of tried to redeem the time when I was doing my work just listening to different Different stuff on the radio.

I'd listen to renewing your mind at 11 o 'clock every single day. But if you've ever listened to RC Sproul or you listen to the conferences Ligonier conferences. He's always talking about justification by faith alone.

It's like you turn it on. It's like really again he's always talking about how dastardly how how wrong justification by words is and I Just it's just amazing if you listen to his teaching and listen to that ministry over.

He is absolutely focused on that why because they battled relentlessly against that the doctrine of justification.

By works.

If justification by faith alone is the heart of the gospel then Justification by works is the very heart of false doctrine. It is the very heart. It is the most destructive component In all the systems of false doctrine that kind of that we have to deal with.

It's always breaking down the person of Jesus Christ breaking down his deity breaking about his biblical characteristics. That's how you get away from it all and telling people that you're gonna be saved based upon what you do.

If only that you would. If you can only reach more people. If You can only you know. Tie up your tie get on your wear your white shirt. Get on the bike. And if you can only do more the more you do then then possibly you're gonna be justified.

Yeah, we have to have this heart for these people and I know you're thinking to me now. You're like dum-dum you're speaking to apology a church and I know this is the heart of what we do here. This is what the scriptures are teaching, please don't call me a dum-dum, but Listen if justification by faith alone is the heart of the gospel and the justification by works is the very heart of false.

Doctrine.

If you if you look at church history, I mean church history. It's just painted red with the blood of the Saints who decided to raise up to rise up and to do two things. It's to say Jesus is the head of the church and we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

If you stand up as a Christian and you decide to say those things you are going to be assaulted by the enemy. Because he is waging war on Humanity he's waging war on this planet by these two great lies.

That Jesus Christ is not the head of the church and that you could be justified by your own good works those two systems of thought those two massive lies are Sending person after person to hell. And we got to warn them.

I just want to spend a couple more moments Into just a couple verses and these verses just kind of track with me as I go here. This really helped me to Get out of myself to love myself less and to love the loss more to get into.

Just get into the lives of these people who are absolutely enslaved to false doctrines. Matthew chapter 7 verse 21 through 23. The scriptures read this not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven.

But he who does the will of my father who was in heaven will enter. Many will say to me on that day Lord Lord we did we not prophesy in your name and in your name cast out demons and in your name perform many miracles and Then I will declare to them.

I never knew you depart from me you who practice lawlessness now I know many of you have read these verses before but you have these individuals who are responding to Jesus. They're saying Lord Lord. Did we not prophesy in your name they're responding to Jesus's rejection and what are they doing on that day of the day of their judgment.

They're presenting their good works to him. They're presenting their good works their religious activities as a means to be made, right? And he says to them depart from me you who practice Lawlessness, why are good works rejected?

Why is Jesus not accepting these things from them? Isaiah chapter 64 verse 6 as we have all become like one who was unclean and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf in our iniquities like the wind take us away.

So Jesus or the scriptures tell us that when we present these good works, which many people will do on the day of their judgment who knows how many millions are gonna be in the situation where they're presenting their their religious works as a means to be made, right and In Jesus was rejecting them.

These things are less filthy rags to God. They're not sufficient in the original language. Those rags are used menstrual cloths. And I'm sorry, I had to go here and I'm sorry. That is just so absolutely disgusting.

But my question is why use this imagery? Why why are the rags seen as this because this is a blood offering presented to God for a means of justification. That is absolutely repulsive and something that he does not accept.

There's only one blood offering that he accepts as a means as the basis of our salvation and as the that's the blood of Jesus Christ in him alone, but they're presenting these things to him and he's rejecting them.

There's only one sufficient blood offering to atone for sins and that is the precious blood of Jesus Christ now imagine with me. Just in your mind imagine a judge. And he had one beloved son and this beloved son was horrifically tortured and.

Murdered.

Then the defendant who murdered this guy's son He approached the bench and he was sobbing. He's crying. He's wanting to be made, right? The judge is looking at this individual. He seems to be remorseful.

He seems to be sincere and he has in his in his hands a box. And he brings it to the judge and he says. I want to be made right with you. I want to give to you this token as a means of being justified as a means of being okay with you for what I've done.

And the judge opens the box and in the box are used menstrual cloths are absolutely polluted garments and What do you think the judge would do if he received that type of a gift as a means of me? He would absolutely reject them and that is what God does when people present their good works to him.

He absolutely Rejects them because that type of gift presented to God as a means of being made, right? It only Exacerbates the harm and the disrespect that's already been done to his son, right? When we say when we present our good works to God If we believe that we can actually one-up Jesus Christ, we can believe that we could actually Improve upon the perfect life and the death of Jesus Christ what that does it tells God?

I.

Could do better. Now imagine this what if you could get into a time machine? Right you they make a time machine just for you. You go to a time and you go back and they say we want you to spend just the last week.

And we want you to spend your time in the last week of Jesus's life. We want you just to get into what he's doing and look at his death on the cross and you beam yourself back there. And you look at his perfect life.

You're able to see what he does. You're looking at his road to the cross. You're looking at him horrifically beaten and murdered and then he goes and he dies. And you beam back forward into the future and they say, okay, we want you to tell us what happened.

What did you experience. And you simply write seven words and these are your seven words not good enough. I can do better. That's what it's like. That's exactly what it's like. We think that we can somehow present something that's greater than Jesus's works.

It's looking at his life and looking at his death and thinking that we can improve upon it and that absolutely dishonors the work of Christ that absolutely dishonors the work that he's done that dishonors his substitutionary sacrifice that dishonors his Perfect life and that is why God responds in the way that he does to those that he casts into hell.

Forever.

Because if you think about everything. It's all for him and through him and to him this universe God the Father created for him God the Son for his glory. Everything is for the Son. Everything is to honor and to glorify the Son.

And by doing this and by presenting and thinking that we can add to the finished work of Jesus Christ. Absolutely dishonors them and God is serious about the dishonoring of his son, right? The reality.

Because back to Matthew chapter 7 Jesus says not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will into the kingdom. Many will say to me on that day. And what is the day that he's talking about? He's talking about the day of their judgment, you know, they're not going to be saying these folks That are locked and enslaved to false religious systems.

They're not going to be saying to Jesus in some chummy Cavalier way Lord Lord, come on. Didn't we do these good things for you. Didn't we ever you know, didn't we exercise demons that we feed the poor didn't we do whatever we didn't we do?
