Muslim Women, Leftist Politics, and Sharia Law

For the longest time, I have been wanting to address the topic we are going to tackle today. I'm sure it has baffled many of you, as it has baffled me, how we could have political figures, elected officials who claim to be Muslims, claim to be faithful Muslims, and yet are leftists and espouse ideologies that would very likely jeopardize their own lives.

Were they to continue to espouse these ideologies in a nation governed by Sharia law? And we're going to try to unlock the mystery today of the loud leftist and Islamist women of American politics. Is their rhetoric and behavior truly compatible with authentic Islam, and would they ever survive under Sharia law?

And to do so, I can think of no other apologist who would do a better job than Dr. Tony Costa, my dear friend for a number of years, who's been a guest on this program many times. He is a world-renowned author, highly sought-after conference speaker, seasoned debater and apologist with a special focus on Islam, and currently an instructor with the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto.

And it's my honor and privilege to welcome you back to Iron Trip and Zion Radio, Dr. Tony Costa.

Chris, it's always, always a pleasure to be on with you. Look forward to it.

Well, as the theme I announced may have indicated, the loud leftist and Islamist women of American politics, it may have hinted to you of whom I speak primarily, but not exclusively, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, two Congresswomen who claim to be Muslims.

They are members of a group of progressive leftist Democrats known as the Squad, which currently has seven members. It was up to nine, but after a loss for their runs for Congress has gone down to seven.

I hope it keeps going down. But it is quite baffling how these women, and even to the extent that Ilhan Omar, who I'm sure you are amazed, Tony, that a woman could be elected to the Congress of the United States.

She is a United States representative of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib being a U .S. representative of Michigan. But it's amazing that this woman, Ilhan Omar, Congresswoman in Minnesota, could be elected to such a position when she entered into this country illegally claiming to be married to her brother.

I mean, it's just utterly astonishing. And it's a known fact now. Yes. And she's not removed from her post. She's not being deported, likely because Republicans have a tendency to be cowards and they don't want to press an issue like that in fear of being labeled as racist and all kinds of things.

But I have, over the years, heard different theories about leftists in politics who claim to be Muslim or are sympathetic, at the very least, to Islam. They claim to be. I can even remember for years there being claims by conspiracy theorists that Barack Obama was secretly a Muslim.

I find that truly hard to believe. He does such a convincing job as a leftist. And even after he is no longer an elected official in this country, he is no longer the president of the United States. He is not somehow reverting into a strict Muslim, going to a mosque or something like that.

But what do you know specifically about these two women that we are addressing, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, who both claim to be Muslims? And oh, I interrupted myself. And even to the point where Ilhan Omar wears the traditional Muslim headdress for women and what is that called again?

The hijab. The hijab. Yes. Yeah. Constantly. You never see her without the hijab. What are your thoughts on this, that these women can be declaring themselves to be Muslim and yet they are leftists, they are feminists, they are pro-homosexual, they are pro-infanticide as far as murdering the children in the womb.

They are pro-transgendered and we could go on and on and on with things that seem to be antithetical to Islam because the one commonality, in addition to monotheism, that Bible-believing Christians typically have with Muslims is that they share with us not completely identical biblical morality because they justify horrific murder and so on, but they are very, most typically if they're faithful to the Quran and the Hadith and so on, they are typically against feminism, they are against homosexuality, they are against transgenderism, and perhaps you can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're also typically against abortion, but if you could, what's the story with these women?

Well, the first thing, Chris, as you mentioned the seven, the seven of them, just to let you know, they're the seven heads of the beast in the book of Revelation, and so they are clearly antichrist. But what I would say, Chris, is that you rightly pointed out that these women claim to be Muslims and yet they are, politically speaking, left-leaning and they appeal to leftist ideologies.

Now, a number of things could be going on here. They could be simply using the left to advance themselves. As you know, they become very wealthy, even though Ilhan Omar said there was a mistake on her financial forms and so forth, they've become very rich over this, being members, being representatives of various states.

But at the same time, it's not unusual for Muslims, both men and women, to side with the left. The same thing is happening here in Canada. For example, you've got the LGBTQ or the so-called queers for Palestine, which is like, as you know, chickens for KFC, because, of course, as you know, in the Palestinian territories, they would throw them off the highest roof and stone them to death.

So it's not unusual. This has been done before, Chris, back in, if we think of just 40 years ago, when we think of, for example, the Islamic revolution in Iran, many of the left-winging Marxist groups were supporting the Ayatollah and calling for the removal of the Shah of Iran.

And they not only pushed the Islamic agenda of the Islamic revolution, but once the Ayatollah came to power, they killed all the feminists, they killed all the lefties, all the communists and so forth, they eradicated them.

And so what we're seeing is you'll notice that the left tends to support Palestine, Hamas, they tend to support the Islamic cause and so on. And what Muslim, faithful Muslims do is they align themselves with them, much like Lenin, Vladimir Lenin spoke about the useful idiots for the cause, those who would support the.

Marxist cause. The wealthy, wouldn't they refer to the wealthy supporters of communism and Marxism because it was really oxymoronic and they were referred to as the useful idiots? Yes.

Yeah. So that was a phrase that Lenin, Vladimir Lenin, came up with, and he was referring to those in Europe that were so blinded by their agenda that they simply supported them. So in Islamic history, what you'll find is that when there's a jihad, a struggle, and this is a form of jihad for them, Chris, anything that opposes Islam is an affront to Allah and it calls on Muslims to engage in what's called jihad, which is struggle or striving.

And what they will do is they will align with the enemies of the host country. So in this case, it's the left, it's the Islamic Muslim Brotherhood in the United States. And you know the old saying, Chris, that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

And so they align with pro-abortionists, pro-LGBTQ, because there is a principle in Islam called darooda. Darooda in Arabic is called the principle of necessity. And what that means is that when you are in the minority, you use all means possible.

You've heard that before, by all means possible, the end will justify the means. And therefore, what you find is that they will ingratiate themselves toward the left. And once Islam becomes prominent, when it becomes the majority, that's when the offensive side of jihad kicks in.

So you're beginning to see that, for example, in France, with the chaos in the streets, you're beginning to see in England as how they're at the brink of a civil war there. And so once they reach that 15 to 20 population rate among Muslims, that's when offensive jihad kicks in.

So right now, what Ilhan Omar is doing and Talib are doing is they're engaging in what's known as defensive jihad. So everything's about Islamophobia, Trump is Islamophobic, the Republicans are Islamophobic, you're attacking Somalis.

And so, as you know, Ilhan Omar would not be where she is today if it were not for the Somali Muslims in Minnesota. And that's another issue altogether, as you know, the flagrant fraud that has been going on in that state.

And so all of that ties into this idea of using the resources of your enemies to achieve the higher aim, and that is to replace the United States of America and implement Sharia law.

Now, obviously, there is somewhat of a mystery, however, as to whether or not Rashida Talib and Ilhan Omar are Muslims pretending to be leftists or leftists pretending to be Muslims. Just like the majority of the leftist college students wearing the garb of a Palestinian.

Yeah, the keffiyeh. They are leftists posing as Muslims. And it is interesting that nobody seems to be accusing them of cultural appropriation. In one sense, it could be equated to like a minstrel show, and you have these leftists doing it.

But they are clearly not Muslims. Although I'm not saying that there aren't Muslims mingled in with them, but they are predominantly just spoiled brat leftist kids whose parents are paying their way through college and they are pretending to in their sympathies, in their rhetoric towards Islam, they are claiming solidarity with them.

And it's just a fraud. They don't even, they obviously don't even know anything about Islam. So but no, but do you have any, obviously, you're not a mind reader. But do you have any inkling as to whether or not these women are Muslims pretending to be leftists or leftists pretending to be Muslims?

Yeah, it's hard to tell because I think they're thinking about their voter base. It's the Muslims that are putting them into power when you really think about it. And so it's hard to tell. It really is.

And again, you and I cannot read their minds. We're not absolutely sure. But once you mentioned the keffiyeh, that's a very interesting point, Chris, that it is cultural appropriation. I mean, I can't dress with a poncho and a Mexican hat.

They will tell me that I'm appropriating the culture of Mexico. But the keffiyeh is not even a Palestinian scarf. It's actually Iraqi. It was used by the Iraqi fishermen. And the Palestinians later adopted it as their own.

And no one's, no one's, no one's raising any issues about this cultural appropriation. It's just like these university college students when they start wearing pictures of Che Guevara. The Marxist murderer in Cuba who aligned himself with Fidel Castro.

So a lot of these kids, unfortunately, are really misinformed. And they simply go with the majority. So if all my lefty friends are wearing a keffiyeh and they're crying the intifada from the river to the sea, which is really a call of genocide, if that's cool, then that's what we're going to do.

So just as an example, up here in Toronto, Chris, at the University of Toronto, October 7th, which was the anniversary of 1 ,200 Jews that were murdered by Hamas, there are pro-Palestinian students having a memorial for the Hamas guys that were killed.

And so that caused quite a stir. You had the Jewish folks on one side and the pro-Palestinian on the other side. So as you can see, this has become a highly charged issue. And then, of course, you've got people praying on the streets.

It's happening in the United States, Muslims blocking traffic. We have it here in Toronto as well. And these are all signs of supremacy. But going back to these women, it could be either or, Chris. We don't know for sure.

So for one thing, Talib doesn't even cover up. You never see her really wearing a hijab when she's functioning as the representative of Michigan. Ilhan Omar does, but that's to garner votes from the Somali community.

Right. Well, let's go through some of the inconsistencies here. First of all, in countries governed by Sharia law, those dominated by Islamic rule, do you have typically women in places of authority or even in the public square being loud, forceful figures who demand their way when it comes to their ideology and so forth, getting away with this, just like Rashida Talib and Ilhan Omar?

Yeah. Yeah.

No, they don't. I mean, Pakistan did have a female prime minister for a while, but they were always at her neck trying to get her out of there because women in Islam, Chris, are property. They're property that belong to their, if not their fathers, their husbands when they get married.

And the testimony of a woman, according to the Quran, is half that of a man. And women are usually considered to be unclean when they're in their menses, when they're menstruating. And also women in Islam are put on the same level as dogs and donkeys because Muhammad said that if a Muslim is praying and facing Mecca and a dog walks in front of them or a woman or a donkey, the prayer is invalidated.

So they have to basically restart the whole thing and pray. So no, in Muslim countries, you would not have women ruling this way because women are property. And so men are the ones who rule. And that has always been the case in Islamic society.

Well, is there anything innately contradictory in leftism, socialism, and communism with Islamic religion?

Well, they're very similar, Chris. I mean, when you think about it, both of them believe in the suppression of free speech. Both of them believe that you need to oppose the so-called capitalist West.

Both of them believe that you are to control your subjects, that everyone owes their allegiance either to the communist state or to what's called the Ummah in Islam, the Islamic community. But where they differ, of course, is that Islam subscribes to a belief in a supreme deity, namely Allah, whereas the communist state does not believe in God.

They're atheistic, other than, of course, the state becomes God, totalitarian. But in terms of how they operate, they're very much the same. No free speech, no free expression, no freedom of the press, and even freedom of religion under communism, religion is the opiate of all the people, as Karl Marx said.

But in Islam, you cannot leave Islam or you will face the death penalty.

And obviously, we've already addressed homosexuality. Another key tenet of the left, not only here in the United States, but globally, is not only a demand of equality for homosexuals, but even though they would never say this, they are actually implying that homosexuals should have superior rights.

And they are, in many ways, implying, although, again, I don't believe that they would ever say this outright, they are implying the superiority of homosexuality. And let me give you an example of what I mean.

We, here in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, a number of years ago, had a borough council meeting where it was being voted upon whether Carlisle should adopt a legally pronounced status for homosexuals so that they would be recognized as a protected status group.

And the irony is that somebody who knew the history of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, did some research and he discovered that never in the history of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, has there ever been violence against a known homosexual committed by a heterosexual.

It just never happened. And yet they somehow needed to be recognized as a protected status group. And during that meeting, a Christian woman, when we were given the opportunity to voice our own opinion, a Christian lady got up and she said that we've reached a day and age where I cannot even, without fear and trembling, bring my grandchildren into a public restroom because I don't even know if there is going to be a man claiming to be a woman in that restroom, exposing himself and perhaps even ready to molest these children and so on.

And another woman stood up in protest to what that woman said. And I don't know if she was a lesbian or if she was just a gay rights activist, so-called. She said what that woman said is entirely wrong.

People in the LGBTQ community do not molest children. She said the typical pedophile is a married, male, heterosexual, typically middle-aged, who is the one that you have to be careful about with your children and grandchildren.

So I got up and I said, I don't know if you were listening carefully, but you just heard a case being made for homosexual superiority. It's not the homosexuals who ever molest children. It's heterosexual men that do.

There's something innately inferior about heterosexual men that leads them to molest children. And I said, you people are swallowing the lie of homosexuality, homosexual superiority, which is why we are supposed to permit Boy Scout leaders who are homosexuals to bring young boys out into the woods and camp with them and sleep in tents with them.

Because, of course, they would never molest a boy. And yet, if I were to say, I'm going to bring your daughters and granddaughters out into the woods on a camping trip, do you mind? I mean, you would say, are you like out of your mind?

Yeah. So am I going overboard here?

Oh, no, you're absolutely right, Chris. And there's plenty of cases of children being molested. Of course. In England. In England, we have Or even here in America, too. Oh, yeah. But in England, there was a story of two men who adopted a baby, an infant.

And they, oh, I can't even go, it's stomach churning. But they sexually abused that little child to the point that they killed that child. And they're both charged. One, I believe, is in prison for life.

And so the bottom line here, Chris, is the universality of sin, that we have all fallen. And one group is claiming this moral one-upmanship on everyone else. And to claim to want to be a protected class, now we're treating people like extinct animals.

I mean, the Constitution of the United States, which I think is the greatest Constitution in the world, after maybe the Magna Carta, the United States Constitution protects everyone, irregardless of your identity, your color of your skin, your racial ethnicity.

The Constitution covers that. But what they want, Chris, is they want extra rights. They want more rights than what is allowed or given in the Constitution. And so this is what we see with our Muslim friends as well.

They're also asking to be a protected class. So here in Canada, almost every Jewish synagogue that I've seen here in Toronto, there's police patrolling there. There's police cars in front of the synagogue.

I don't know if you know this, but the U .S. consulate in Toronto was shot at twice. And the second assailant was actually caught. And you won't believe what happened. They gave him bail. So this is a guy who came with a gun, shot at the U .S. consulate, was given bail.

And what I was arguing was that since he attacked a U .S. consulate, which is part of the United States, he should have been handed over to the FBI, to the U .S. authorities and prosecuted as such. But the whole argument is, well, he is, this idea is that he's a migrant or he didn't know any better or he's been repressed.

And so this is the wokeness that we're seeing in America and in Canada and in England and in Australia and so on. And that is what Ilan Omar and Talib are feeding on. And they're feeding on this rhetoric and this hatred against the so-called white supremacists, white privileged Christians, and the whole gamut of colonization.

And that is why Islam and the left make good bedfellows. But that's only temporary, because once they achieve their majority, then the rule of jihad is that Islam becomes the lawful land. Sharia becomes the lawful land.

And what other ways do Rashida Talib and Ilhan Omar contradict in their rhetoric and behavior their claim of being Muslims? I mean, when I say behavior, I'm speaking about their loud way of publicly interrupting in Congress, their loud way of rebuking and speaking to men, their—the mockery that comes from their mouths to men, of men.

What other ways can we think of that, if this person is truly a Muslim woman, they would never be claiming this ideology or behaving this way?

Yeah. Well, remember, Chris, they're attacking the Kafir, the Kafir, the unbelievers. And the unbelievers are not only filthy, according to the Qur 'an, it uses the word najas, which means filthy. But the Qur 'an also says that Jews and Christians who reject the message of Muhammad are the filthiest, the vilest of all creatures.

And so when they yell at Trump or Vance or whoever it may be, anyone that they see as the right or the far right, they're simply attacking the enemies of Islam. And so to the Muslim world, they would look at these women and they would see them exercising a principle I mentioned earlier, the principle of necessity, where it's okay to attack non-Muslims.

It's okay to attack Christians. It's okay to attack Jews because they're not subservient to Allah. And therefore, the end will justify the means. And it is allowed in Islam, Chris. It is allowed to violate certain laws within Islam if it will achieve the end of Islamic supremacy and hegemony over the country.

And therefore, they will continue doing this. And there are many documented cases of even the Twin Towers, the pilots who rammed those planes into the towers and brought them down. The night before, on September 10th, they were going to bars and they were drinking up, they were smoking, and they were at strip bars.

These are all haram. These are all unclean practices. But because they knew the next day they were going to die as martyrs, according to Islam, a martyr's sins are all forgiven. They are cleansed. So much so that when they die, you don't even have to ritually wash the body.

They're considered already clean and pure. So that's the understanding behind this, Chris, is that they're not attacking Muslims. They are attacking the kafir, the unbelievers.

And so, in other words, that would be one thing that would be consistent with a Muslim woman being loud and showing a lack of reverence toward a man, lack of submission toward a man, etc., if he is an unbeliever.

Right, right. The only ones they should respect and submit to is their husbands. And so, but if you're not a Muslim, then remember, according to the Quran, you are filthy. You are the vilest of creatures, and your end will be the hellfire.

We have been addressing the loud leftist and Islamist women of American politics. Is their rhetoric and behavior truly compatible with authentic Islam, and would they ever survive under Sharia law? Well, let me bring us now to that question that is the last part of that theme I just read.

Women’s Status and Political Power Under Sharia Law

If they were living under Sharia law in an Islamically-ruled nation, would they survive remaining with the rhetoric that they possess now? No, no, they would not.

They would basically be subservient to men, their husbands or the imam of the local mosque or the leader of the country. And so, no, you don't have this. This is why in Saudi Arabia, you don't see women speaking out like this.

You don't see women in the government. You don't see this in Pakistan. They did have a prime minister. But as I said, she had her life threatened numerous times because of the fact that she was a woman.

So, no, I mean, the very fact that Afidlan Omar went back to Somalia, it'd be the end. That'd be the end for her. Her career would be over. Everything would be over. And same with Talib. If she were to go live in the Palestinian territories, she would not have the opportunity to scream and yell as she usually does.

So that is not typical behavior of Muslim women in Islamic countries. They're doing that, Chris, because they live in a free country. They live in a country where women have the right. They can become the president if they're born in the United States.

So they're simply taking the freedoms that are granted them in the Constitution of the United States to say what they say and do what they do. And there's also the element of deception. Let me just mention taqiyyah.

I stand corrected. So, yeah, so taqiyyah, not tequila, but taqiyyah is a way where Muslims can actually lie to you, deceive you, if it will advance the Islamic cause.

Now, if they persisted, would they very likely be executed?

You mean if they persisted in a Muslim country? Yes, that's what I mean, of course. Yeah, well, they won't use taqiyyah in a Muslim country, but they will use it because in Islam, there's two domains, there's two worlds.

There's what's called Dar al-Islam, which is the abode of Islam, the house of Islam. And then that's under Sharia law. And everything outside of Dar al-Islam is called Dar al-Harb, which means the house of war.

And so if you live in a country where Sharia law is not the supreme law of the land, you are technically at war with that host country. And that is why when Muslims migrate, if you notice, Chris, they're not migrating to Saudi Arabia.

They're not migrating to Jordan. They're not migrating to the UAE. They're not migrating to Muslim countries. They're migrating to the West. And why is that? Think of it. If Sharia law is the best law for the world, then it begs the question, why are so many Muslims leaving those countries, those Islamic Sharia-compliant countries, and why are they migrating into the West?

Well, the Quran is very clear that when Muslims migrate to a country that is not under the law of Allah, it is their duty to expand the religion of Allah in those countries. And so once again, the whole goal is to Islamicize the host countries in which they live.

And that is clearly stated by the Muslim Brotherhood. It's clearly stated by various Islamic societies that that is the goal. And Abraham Hooper, who was once the leader of CARE, Council of American Islamic Relations, he once openly admitted that he would like to see the day in which Sharia law will become the law of the United States.

Wow.

Well, it's interesting that, and we will now broaden this topic beyond the two women that were highlighted in the theme, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, to all Muslims who are either already elected government officials in the United States, running for election or running for reelection, who are professing to be Muslims and yet who are simultaneously leftists.

We have, of course, Zohran Mondami, the recently elected mayor of New York City, professes to be a Muslim and is unquestionably a leftist, a Marxist, and a communist, although he calls himself a socialist.

And then you have folks running right now, such as Abdul El-Sayed, who is a nominee for U .S. Senate in Michigan. And you have Andre Carson, who is serving in the House of Representatives, running for reelection in Indiana.

And you have Latifa Simon, a member of Congress running for reelection in California, all professing to be Muslims, all leftists. And is, in your opinion, the main draw for these leftists to highlight their Islamic identity is to, and I'm asking you this, is it to, in your opinion, to highlight their rebellion against traditional Americans, historic constitutional American ideology, and Christianity, and what has become...

Now, you and I know that much of what is under the umbrella of Christianity in North America is false Christianity, but at the same time, do you think that that whole package of wearing Islam as a cloak of some kind to just demonstrate we want to overturn this horrible nation called America that we refuse to celebrate as anything noble and good and anything that would be a wonderful gift from God and so on, you're not going to typically...

In fact, you've even heard speeches in which some of these people have said that we should not be celebrating Independence Day, 4th of July, and all that kind of thing. But so is that it? Or what are your thoughts on it?

David. Yeah, I mean, they use the same rhetoric as the West, the woke, rather. They will use words like white privilege. They will borrow words like white supremacy. Colonization is a big one. And the irony here is that Islam is one of the world's greatest colonizers.

When you consider, for example, that after Muhammad died in 632 AD, the Islamic caliphate, the Islamic empire spread throughout the Middle East. They conquered all of the Middle East, all of these Christian countries like Iraq and Syria, a land of Israel.
