Conflict While Street Preaching
2 views
This is footage of one of the Pastors of Apologia Church, Zack Morgan, preaching the Gospel on our mission for our church plant on the island of Kauai: Apologia Kauai. While out feeding the homeless and preaching the Good News, we set up near a populated beach front and began giving the Gospel. During the preaching, two women interrupted and condemned it. One woman returned again in an attempt to shut off the sound system.

- 00:12
- The call is to turn from your sin and put your faith in Jesus. Jesus is the
- 00:18
- King of Kings and He is the Lord of Lords. We're out to give you the most important message that you could possibly hear.
- 00:26
- And that's the message of what Jesus Christ has done in His perfect life and His perfect death.
- 00:31
- Understand, we are motivated to come out here and lift up the name of Christ because we love you, we care about you, we care about our neighbor.
- 00:41
- That's what God has called us to do is love Him with all of our heart and mind and soul and to love our neighbor as ourself.
- 00:47
- So we traveled here and we're here on the island to demonstrate the love of God to you by giving to you that which is the most important thing for you.
- 00:56
- And that is the truth. Understand, those who love you the most are those that are going to tell you the truth.
- 01:02
- The truth about who God is. The truth about who Jesus Christ is. And the wonderful thing that God has done by sending
- 01:10
- His one and only Son to do that which we could never do. To save us from our sins.
- 01:18
- But understand this, that God exists, that God is our Creator. That God made this beautiful island, that God made every single human.
- 01:28
- Every single thing comes into existence and has its being because of our great and wonderful God.
- 01:35
- He is the one that made you. And He owns you. He made this beautiful island.
- 01:41
- Look at this island. Look at the waves. Look at the ocean. Look at the flowers and the trees. They didn't come from nothing.
- 01:47
- They came from the hand of the God that created them. And God is the one that owns you.
- 01:54
- A lot of people say, you know what? This is good for you. It's not good for me. You like Jesus.
- 01:59
- If that floats your boat, then that's fine for you. It won't apply for me. But understand this, that Jesus said this so clearly.
- 02:06
- I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. And no one can come to the
- 02:12
- Father but by me. Jesus is King. He's not only King of the
- 02:17
- Christians. He's not only King of those who put their faith in Him. But He's the King of every single one of us.
- 02:24
- And our lives are not even our own. He owns every single one of us. That this island belongs to Him.
- 02:31
- And everything is under His dominion. Everything is under His control. And we're out here to proclaim that great
- 02:38
- King. Why? It's because you need to know this Christ. You don't know when the day of your death will be.
- 02:45
- That will be an appointment that every single one of us will make. And because you don't know that day when you'll stand before your
- 02:53
- King, we're out here to proclaim to you the message of life, so that you will be ready when you stand before God on that day of judgment.
- 03:01
- On that day of judgment, Jesus said He will judge this world in righteousness.
- 03:07
- And I know we sound as though we're rude, but this woman doesn't know the sin that she's in.
- 03:14
- It sounds foolish to come out here. You know why we're here, ma 'am?
- 03:26
- No, Jesus commands us to do this. No, that's what
- 03:31
- He says. He goes, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all of creation.
- 03:36
- And that's what we have to do. She says it's so rude to come out here because we're trying to have a nice, relaxing
- 03:43
- Wednesday or Thursday. We know it might sound rude to you, but the fact that you think that it's your dead and your sins, you don't want to hear this message of life.
- 03:56
- But we love you enough to tell you to turn to Jesus before it's too late for you. Hey, ma 'am, would you talk to me for a second?
- 04:08
- But that's what people have been doing for thousands of years is drowning out the message of life.
- 04:14
- What this lady is doing right now and trying to stop me from preaching to you the good news is what people have been doing for thousands of years because this world is lost in their sin.
- 04:26
- They don't want to hear about their Creator. We suppress the truth about the belief that we know to be true because we love our sin more than we love the
- 04:35
- God that created us. Understand, if we are not made righteous... Excuse me.
- 04:40
- I'm willing to take your mic as well, but to speak my piece, I'm a Christian and I believe in Jesus, but I agree with her.
- 04:47
- I think what you're doing is extremely rude because this is a public beach where children come. I've been a teacher here for 20 years.
- 04:54
- There may be some Buddhist, Muslim, different type children here, and every family's entitled to teach their children whatever they believe.
- 05:02
- But I care about them enough to tell them the truth. Ma 'am, I'm going to continue to preach. It's important that you hear this news.
- 05:11
- You can go ahead and do that. We care more about your eternal soul than causing you to be upset.
- 05:18
- Jesus came and He is God in the flesh. We are all separated from God in our sins.
- 05:25
- We care about you. No, we're not, ma 'am. You're harming innocent children because you're overriding what their families are teaching them, children who may not believe what we believe.
- 05:35
- No, ma 'am. The Bible says that the gospel is the power unto salvation, ma 'am. This is a different way to preach offensive to so many other people.
- 05:45
- This is a public beach where children have a right to come. It's summertime. They're swimming with their families, and you're not spreading the message of God and Jesus in a good way.
- 05:55
- Yeah, that's what we were called to do. That's what Jesus did. He came out and preached to the masses. And you're completely conflicting.
- 06:02
- The Bible says there is only one God, and we know that to be true. Even people who don't believe in God, they suppress that truth.
- 06:10
- And we're out here proclaiming to you this message. It's only based upon this message that we can be saved.
- 06:16
- Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, and Jesus Christ alone. He is our only door to enter into eternal life.
- 06:24
- He is our only way to be saved. Many people believe that they can save themselves, but we can't do that.
- 06:30
- Our attempts at righteousness, our attempts to save ourselves, they fall so short.
- 06:37
- We can't do it. God sees our righteous works to be saved as filthy rags.
- 06:43
- So we're out here to proclaim to you life. We're out here to proclaim to you truth in the hopes that you would turn to Christ and live, that you would turn from your sin, and you would find salvation and your only hope and your only source, and that is
- 06:58
- Jesus Christ himself. As I said before, your salvation is what we care about the most.
- 07:04
- Many people believe, if I have enough vacations, that's what I truly need in life, or if I have enough money in my checking account, or if I look good.
- 07:12
- We're running after these things and neglecting the state of our soul. We would not sell one of our eyeballs for a million dollars.
- 07:20
- We put such value on our own body parts. But we need to be looking to the state of our soul.
- 07:28
- And the most important question that you will ask yourself is, Who is Jesus Christ? And answer that question.
- 07:34
- Is he Lord to you? Have you submitted to his lordship and his kingship? Are you just running your own life?
- 07:42
- That's what we have to ask ourselves. Who is Jesus Christ? Because I said, it's binding on every single one of us.
- 07:48
- The Bible does say that there is a day that God has fixed to judge this world in righteousness, and he will do that by the man
- 07:56
- Christ Jesus. And we're out here because we want you to be ready on that day when you stand before God and you give an account for your life.
- 08:04
- Yes, you're not going to just die and lapse off into nothingness. The lights are simply not just going to go out and you'll cease to exist.
- 08:12
- This is the truth. You're either going to exist forever in the presence of God, in the joy of being in his family, or you're going to exist forever in a place called hell because of the sins that you've committed against the
- 08:26
- God that created you. See, many people believe that they're right without God, that they're pure in their own eyes.
- 08:34
- That's what the Bible says, that we see ourselves not as the way that God sees us, but we see ourselves as being pure, as being okay without God, as running our own course and doing life based upon our own standards.
- 08:47
- But believe me, you desperately need what Jesus Christ and He alone can give you, and that's forgiveness, that's reconciliation, that's redemption.
- 08:58
- They all flow out of one source. Not many roads that lead to God, not many religions, no.
- 09:04
- It is only based upon the work and life and death of one man, and that is the man
- 09:10
- Jesus Christ. So many people are confused about, as this woman is, about their spiritual understanding of things.
- 09:18
- They are deceived in their sin. They buck up against and fight against God, the
- 09:24
- God that created them, and that is what we do in our sin. The Bible says we don't come into the light lest our deeds be exposed.
- 09:30
- We actually would like to live in the darkness, in our own sinfulness, in our own slavery. But Jesus Christ came, and He is the light of the world, and He is the light by which every man is enlightened, so that if we would come to Him in faith, turning from faith in self or any other religious source, and turning to Him in faith and turning from our sins, turning from our own way of living life, turning from our lawlessness and our idolatry, and turning to Jesus Christ with all of our hearts, we will be saved.
- 10:04
- Two thousand years ago, God did send His one and only Son. God did come and send, two thousand years ago, our only source of salvation, our only hope for redemption and forgiveness and reconciliation, and that was the greatest gift of His Son.
- 10:22
- Look at this life that God has given us. Every time we breathe, that's a gift from God. Every time our heart beats, that's a gift from God.
- 10:30
- God is a gracious, wonderful, heavenly loving Father. Every tree that God...
- 10:37
- Do not touch my stuff, ma 'am. No, we care too much about people. I'm not going to turn.
- 10:45
- They're going to go ahead and enjoy. We're not going to stay here all day. No, you believe that. No, He did come and preach, ma 'am.
- 10:53
- Why are you so hateful and judgmental, ma 'am? No, we don't want to be hateful and judgmental.
- 11:00
- We want to lift up the name of Jesus Christ. The only way is the way that Jesus Christ modeled to us, and that's by coming out and sharing the good news, the good news of salvation in Him.
- 11:17
- Two thousand years ago, He came and He lived the perfect law -abiding life that we could never live, but that is
- 11:22
- God's requirements. God is righteous. God is just, and that is
- 11:28
- His requirements. The Bible says that we are to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect, but we fail to attain that standard.
- 11:36
- We cannot do that. The Bible says we're all under sin. We are all guilty under God, and that's what you have to hear, and you might not want to hear that.
- 11:44
- You might just want to go about your life not hearing the truth of God's Word, but it's so important, because like this woman, we don't know when she's going to die.
- 11:53
- We don't know when you're going to stand before God on your appointed day, and that necessitates the urgency of this.
- 11:58
- We must come out. We must tell you this good news, because we want you to be ready on that day.
- 12:04
- We don't want you to spend forever in a place called hell paying the fines for your own crimes against God.
- 12:11
- That's why we come out and do what we do. That's why we come out and lift up the name of Christ and show you the way of salvation through faith and repentance.
- 12:20
- Telling you what He did in His perfect life and His death upon the cross for the sins of those that would put their faith in Him.
- 12:26
- That's what He came to do. He lived the law -abiding life. He lived the perfect life on behalf of all those who would put their faith in Him.
- 12:34
- And then Jesus did something that's incredible. Voluntarily substituting His own body,
- 12:39
- His own self on the cross, and receiving the penalty for our sins, our transgressions, the sins of all of His people, in His body on the cross, so that we would not have to.
- 12:53
- And I don't want you, on that day of judgment, to pay the fines for your own crimes because it's never going to stop throughout eternity.
- 13:02
- Can you imagine on that day when so many people reject the Gospel and harden their hearts to it?
- 13:08
- I can't imagine them standing before the living God and Him saying to them, Depart from Me, I never knew you.
- 13:15
- And we don't want that eternal reality for you. We don't want that to happen to you. That's why we come out sharing you a message of love.
- 13:24
- Sharing with you a message of life. That even if you have not been made right with God, if you have not put your faith in Jesus and turned from your sin, we would beg you to do that now.
