Good morning. One of the things God's people are saying around the world is saying God is good all the time, all the time. There's one more line to that because you can think of the goodness of God as finite.

Following the Footprints of God in History

So I've also said that God all the time is not good in history. To look at the footprints of God, this is not exhaustive, obviously. He produced some of his movement in most of the world. He's far from any of the values that made the movement possible.

Early Revival Movements in Britain and America

Both sides are usually unhappy. In 1740, in 1798 Britain and America, William Carey and Andrew Fuller formed the Union of Prayer Meetings for Revival. It consisted of renewed emphasis for two to three weeks in congregations, movement, education, publishing the Bible.

In 1616, many men were fully converted. James New York, a mystic and revival minister. 1824 to 1834, during a period of ten years, Finney was continuously involved in mass revivals. He preached in Boston for a year.

Reports tell of people who repented as they sailed into Boston Harbor, conducted by the Holy Spirit. They didn't even hear of his salvation in England. Most notable in the history of this increase in membership, from 1899, from 40 ,000 to 173 ,000 plus.

Revival and Rapid Church Growth

Methodists from 64 ,000 to 476 ,000 were up to 115 ,000. Methodists had moved to 1 .32 million to 488 ,000. I want to go back through the history to show by what an intercessory meeting in the upper room of the Dutch Reformed consisted of on Fulton Street in Manhattan, New York.

Lanphier advertised the United Lunch Prayer Meeting. 100 ,000 showed up at the first prayer meeting. American Civil War. In 1857, they were filling the Dutch Reformed Church. Then the Methodist Church on John Street.

Then the Trinity Episcopal Church on Broadway at Wall Street. Church and public hall in downtown New York City was filled. Meetings were held in the streets across the United States, followed the pattern.

The Hamilton Revival and the 1857 Prayer Meetings

And soon, a midday sign on business premises read, from the Methodist Church in Hamilton, Ontario, gathered in October 1857, under the leadership of a brand preacher who was deeply transformed by the Holy Spirit.

A few days later, 400 gathered for prayer. The revival meetings were in four Methodist churches with a capacity of 5 ,000. The crowds grew as high as 50 ,000. Teaching and writing in the wake of the Hamilton Revival.

The 1859 Revival and Its International Influence

And England's 1859 Revival of the outpouring in North America. So, friends, there could be. We're seeing something marvelous happening right in their ministry. What God did for them. What they saw God do for them.

So the details, the Canadian Revival in 1971 is because they were leaders at that time, had the wisdom. They did not feel that the satanists didn't feel they have to be everywhere, you know. And they stewarded from 1859.

Revival Reports, Repentance, and Bible Study
