Hello, welcome back to Daily Bites God's Word. This is Andy Cain, and it is a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 41. It says, "'May your lovingkindness also come to me,
O Yahweh, your salvation, according to your word or according to your promise.'"
This is one of the most beautiful verses there is in Scripture. The prayer of the Christian, the prayer of the child of God, the prayer of David here, the prayer of the one that loves
God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, Lord, that your lovingkindness, the great love and the great just lovingkindness, that it would come to me, that it would be with me all the days of my life.
O Lord, this recognition of where true lovingkindness comes from here, that it comes from the
Lord. It is your lovingkindness. It is the lovingkindness of God that I need.
It says, "'Your salvation according to your word.'" There is so much rich and deep theology wrapped up in this verse, recognizing that lovingkindness, the true definitional love that was created by God that just simply is who
God is. It is a function of His character. It's one of His attributes. It is one of the attributes of God that we can demonstrate, the lovingkindness of God.
But notice that it is the salvation of God that is a function of His lovingkindness.
Your salvation. Salvation belongs to the Lord. Salvation originates in the
Lord. Salvation comes from Him, and it's according to His word, according to His promise.
Yahweh, the Lord, the one true God, is the only one that can promise salvation.
He's the only one that can deliver salvation. And He's the only one that gives salvation as a true function of who
He is and His lovingkindness. Amen? Well, I want to thank you for joining me on this daily bite of God's word.
