The Authority of Divine Law and Human Legislation

I'm here to testify against SB 179. James Wilson was a United States court justice who was appointed by George Washington. And he said, human law must rest its authority ultimately upon the authority of that law, which is divine.

If we have no authority above ourselves when we make laws, we have no authority at all. It's just one man's opinion against another. If it's just one man's opinion against another, then you have no right to send a person to jail when he breaks into your house, no justification to do so at any rate.

Abortion as Murder and the Sanctity of Human Life

That's why I can stand before you here justified completely when I tell you with absolute certainty that to continue to allow abortion in the state of Nevada, and indeed 3 ,500 babies across the United States every day, is to propagate the highest form of murder.

And I can stand here justified by an authority who is greater than I and greater than the Supreme Court in this state and in any nation on this planet. And he says, you shall not murder. It's currently illegal in 20 states to impose lethal injection on a criminal, and yet in some of these same states, you can do so on a child.

A mother can look at a fellow image bearer and say, you do not deserve to live, and the child will be given a lethal injection. It's not going to end there. In five years, 10 years from now, an underage child is going to be able to walk into a Planned Parenthood with a three-year-old on her hip and walk out alone.

Romans 13 and the Duty of Civil Government

I'm begging you today to stand against legalized infanticide in the state of Nevada and across this nation, because in Romans 13, God calls our leaders to uphold justice. I pray today that he would soften your hearts towards his call, that you would repent of your support of abortion, that you would withhold those who are being led to the slaughter for his glory.
