Daily Bites Of God's Word - Part 34 - Psalm 119:34

We're looking at Psalm 119 verse 34 It says cause me to understand that I may observe your law and keep it with all my heart

This is the crux of the matter in it. This is the heart of the matter the man of the heart It's not the heart to say at the heart of the matter.

It's about the heart, right? So, uh, you know We want the Lord to cause me to understand this is on the heels of last time when the psalmist said, you know

Instruct me. Oh Lord, so I may observe it to the end and on the heels as he's saying, you know, cause me to understand

Help me understand it and my friends as New Covenant Christians. We have the indwelling presence a

Permanent indwelling presence of the third person of Trinity the Spirit of God Indwelling us the one that not only regenerates us but empowers us to live daily for God.

So we have The very illuminator himself to illuminate Scripture for us and teach us the

Word of God So when we say cause me to understand we're saying Spirit of God Holy Spirit of God Illuminate the

Scriptures for me Show me how to consistently and contextually understand what is written.

Is it descriptive? Is it prescriptive? Is this for an example for me? Is this a prayer?

I should be praying Is this an example of how I should be making changes in my life? This is dealing with a doctrine.

Is it dealing with my sin so many questions you can ask of a particular text? so he said

I want you to let me understand so I can observe your law observe your word and Keep it with all my heart

Not 50 % not ninety nine point nine nine nine nine nine percent.

Oh Not holding anything back. I want to give my full authentic self to the loving of God supremely

Loving his word Observing his word coming into a greater Understanding of his word and the better we understand it the much will have a much better time

Practically applying it you can't apply something. You don't understand and Now the point of having it keeping it with all my heart is you can have all the head knowledge in the world

But if from your heart you don't obey and seek to apply it. That's why they go hand in hand

You've got to have the knowledge and understanding you've got to have a heart and a willing obedience and those two go together

That's pictured beautifully here in verse 34 calls me to understand so that I may observe and keep with all my heart
