Hello, welcome back to Daily Bites God's Word. This is Andy Cain, and it is a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 65. It says, You have dealt with your slave,
O Yahweh, according to your word. What is one of the biggest things that every single person has in common?
Whether they are in front of a judge, in a courtroom, if they're dealing with a boss, if they're dealing in some sort of business transaction, every single person, if they're honest, just wants to be dealt with fairly, righteously, in a just manner.
Well, the good news is, the righteous judge, Yahweh, can only judge righteously because he is perfectly righteous, he is perfectly just.
And so, when he says, You have dealt with me the way... Nobody will ever stand before God and say, You've dealt with me unfairly.
You've dealt with me unjustly. No, no, no, no, no. David recognizes it here, and we should recognize it as his children, that Lord, the ways you have dealt with me, your dealings with me, what you have done for me and to me is fair because it's according to your word.
That's the one thing about God, is he is perfectly consistent. You'll never see him acting in a way that's inconsistent with his word.
If he has said it, that is how he will operate. You won't see him operating outside of his own word.
Now, we operate outside of the word of God and inconsistently with it, but God always deals consistently with his word.
And so we can know that no matter what he brings our way, and yes, this is hard to swallow because there's a lot of times where there's a lot of adverse situations and sufferings and things we really don't want to go through.
But then we learn so much about who God is and who we are in them. And as I've grown and become more mature,
I find myself more thankful for the things that happen. They're not easy, and yes,
I still complain at times, probably more than I should. But I have to say the
Lord has dealt fairly with me. He's been just. He's dealt with me according to his word.
If I've sinned, I need to repent. If I find myself in some situation,
I always know the Lord is going to be exactly who he said he was. Amen? Well, think about your life.
Go through it and think it over, and you'll find that he's a consistent God. He is a righteous
God, and he'll never treat you anything other than fair and righteous and justly.
