Hello, welcome back to Daily Bites, God's Word. This is Andy Cain. It's a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 49. It says, Remember the word to your slave, in which you have made me wait, or upon which you have made me wait.
The word to your slave. This means there is a master that's made a promise to his servant.
In this sense, we are either slaves of righteousness or slaves of sin. And as saved Christians, those that have been raised to life in Christ, we are the bond servants and the slaves of Christ and the slaves of righteousness.
And so the word to us from God, the promises of God, his word, you talk about, you know,
I'm as good as my word, or I'm a man of my word, or a woman of my word. If I tell you I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it.
This is what's in view here. Remember Lord, remember what you told me. Remember what you promised me.
So sometimes I feel lonely, or I feel that the world's against me, or I just, I just feel depressed and Lord, I need to be reminded of who you are and what you've said and what you've done.
And Lord, you've made me wait. You've made me be patient. And this waiting is a very difficult thing to do.
Trust me, I've been there and I've seen it, I've done it and it's not fun. But you know what?
You learn a whole lot about yourself and a whole lot about God when you're waiting on God and waiting for an answer because you learn to trust him.
You learn to confide in him. You learn to patiently wait for the right timing.
Do you find yourself in your life right now waiting on God for something? It could be that you were seeking the wrong thing and God's got to give you some time of waiting to get all those desires out of you so you can start seeking his will.
And that one hits a little home for me because that's kind of what I went through. But you need to be able to wait.
You need to be able to trust what God has said. You need to be able to trust who
God is and that he can only do what is right. Amen? Well I want to thank you for joining me on this daily bite of God's Word.
