Hello, welcome back to Daddy Bites God's Word, this is Andy Cain, and it is a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 60. It says, I hastened and did not delay to keep your commandments.
Now notice there's two things involved here. It's the hastening, which is the positive form of this.
I'm choosing to hasten, which means I'm choosing to use a sense of urgency. I am choosing to engage with a level of intentionality here.
It's not, well, if I just happen to get to it. No, this is important.
This is something I need to do, and therefore I need to hasten. I don't need to delay. That's the negative part.
We're not delaying, which means we're not procrastinating. We're not saying, well, you know, I'll get around to that tomorrow.
No, it's a combination of the two. We are intentionally not delaying, and we are hastening, which means this is urgent.
It is important. It's something we should take with some seriousness. What is it that we are taking seriously?
Keeping the commands of God, keeping the Word of God, being intentional about studying it, applying it, and understanding that it is the final authority.
It's sola scriptura. The final rule of faith for all the church and the Christian is the
Word of God. And so, do you hasten in your life to keep the Word of God? Do you find yourself delaying?
Or do you find yourself intentionally not delaying to keep the
Word of God? Something to consider. Something to think about. Amen? Well, I want to thank you for joining me on this daily bite of God's Word.
