Baptism as a Public Profession of Faith

Open to prayer for those of you that are new. My name is Luke. I'm the discipleship pastor. This is Jerry. He's our men's director. Jeff would have been here, but he's at a funeral right now. So I'm gonna go ahead and pray and then we're going to start.

Laurence thank you for tonight. Thank you for this opportunity to baptize Some believers Lord, and it's just so exciting and so awesome. We praise you for the work you've done in their lives.

Says are says are. So he's friends with Amy. Funny story. He actually got saved at a winter camp at a winter camp and he came to summer camp. When Jeff spoke and We played we were in the we were the band for the camp, but now it's four years ago probably Four years ago.

Yeah, so cool. So anyways, I'll let you talk.

Well, if anybody's here doesn't know what this is all about before we dunk him. Before we baptize him if you don't know what this is about the the Bible commands believers to be baptized and and basically all it is just a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ and We've been doing it.

We've never done it in church. A lot of churches I knew I grew up in church where they had a baptismal and you did it at church. We've never done it that way. We don't have one. I actually like it's better because you actually are in the public.

And so it's I like it that much that much cooler. I think so anyways. If you place your faith in Jesus Christ Colby you ready? Yeah, this is Colby.

Testimony of Conversion and Growth in Christ

I don't know man. I'm just really blessed to be a part of this Congregation, you know and the work that that Christ has done in my life, especially over the past couple months. I mean, I originally turned to Christ Christ about nine months ago and I'd say it wasn't up until maybe two or three months ago.

I think it really started to change. You know, I've just been on fire and it's an absolute blessing and I just really look forward to see What he has in store? For my life.

For you up those of you that don't know Colby he actually came to apologize through Mary. If you know Mary and Jeff's not here. I'll tell the story. Jeff always tells it. Him and Colby were staying outside Starbucks.

And this was that when you actually came to Christ with yes. And in front of Starbucks are talking and some dude was like in the parking lot getting tased by cops. So Jeff always tell the story because he said he was always really distracted trying to talk to Colby.

So anyways Colby.

Have you put your faith in Christ.

Right on.

Perry's Baptism and Prayer for the New Believers

This is Perry. Don't know Perry. He played in the NHL for 10 years right now. I feel like I need to put a shirt over his head.

Perry All right.

Then we'll be free to go about our way. God, thank you so much for tonight. Or just an amazing example of what you do and how you work and how you work in the lives of people. God, I just praise just for three people for assessor Colby.

Pray that you would just Right now you begin to work in their lives that just right now. What do you mean to sanctify them and draw them closer to you Lord? I know that the enemy Does not like it not like the fact that these three people have dedicated their lives to be your disciples and follow you Lord.

So I pray you put a hedge to protect hedge a hedge of protection over them right now Lord. I mean you just pull them in the armor of God and Pray also just as a body that we just do whatever we can just to help equip them and to help grow them Lord.

So again, we just praise you for tonight. Well, this is all work of you. And where I pray you bless this congregation that we'd be able to have events like this all the time. Baptizing disciples and make a disciple for it.
