Hope in Christ Amid a Loveless World

Glory to the Lord, it is wonderful to see so many people in this place. Let's give a big applause for our God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We are very grateful for this time we have here. As you know, we have a guest here, David Wilkerson, who writes from New York.

But before that, we want to praise and honor the Lord. And are you ready to praise the Lord? Some of you here are Christians, some of you believe in God. You know, we live in difficult times. We live in a difficult time.

But a few years ago, basically two years ago, we remember the sad and tragic anniversary of September 11 in New York. And no one would have believed two years ago that something like this could happen.

Recently, there was another press release about the Foreign Minister of Sweden. If you follow the news, Anna Lindová, who was brutally murdered in Sweden, the whole country, the whole nation is in shock.

The government officials do not even take bodyguards there because the country was so safe. And what happened to our world? But we believe that there is hope in this cruel and cold world. We believe that there is hope in this cold world without love.

And this hope is the person who calls himself Jesus Christ. It is the Bible, it is the Word of God, which is the bestseller of all time. It is said that 44 million copies of the Bible are sold worldwide each year.

Harry Potter has no chance. The famous author of novels, Daniel Steele, has no chance. The Bible is still a book of books. The Bible is still a book of hope. The Bible is still the bestseller of all time.

And it glorifies all nations, all social classes. And today we want to talk about this hope. Maybe you came today and lost hope. Maybe you are in this place and you will say, there is no hope for me. I remember a short story about a young man who was going to his city, to his own home.

But he was going in the dark, in the harsh nature. He was bored, it was a very difficult path. Suddenly, a mouse crawled up. And when he crawled and ran, he saw that there were some clouds. And to shorten the path and make it easier, he started to throw the clouds into the nearby bush.

And it started to thunder and rain, and he made the path easier. As the path was getting shorter and closer to his home, the lights of the house started to shine more brightly. He saw that the clouds he was throwing were not ordinary clouds.

Suddenly, the clouds started to get closer to the bright light. And when he looked closer, he saw that the clouds were diamonds. And when he went deep into the bush, he found out that he had only the last two.

Many of us were looking for the diamonds of our lives. Many of us, on the path, through the dark tunnel of life, through the harsh life where there is no love, we were looking for our talents. As if we were wasting our lives, we were living in vain.

But I believe that today is the day when, in the light of God's Word, in the light of God's love, we will see that God has given us something that is worth it. That there are diamonds in our lives. It is never too late, brother and sister, it is never too late, friend.

I welcome you very warmly tonight. And I ask you very much to find the value of life that is in Christ. Please, let's stand up. Let's start by thanking the Lord. Let's welcome Him and we will praise Him with songs.

Dear Lord God, dear Lord Jesus, we praise You in this place. And we thank You for the greatness that we are gathered like this from the whole nation in front of Your face. We thank You that Your book, the Bible, is a book of hope.

That today we can expect hope where there is no hope. That today we can expect healing where there is a disease. Liberated where there is confusion. And light where there is darkness. We worship You and praise Your Holy Name and thank You that You will live on the praises of Your people.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

A New Meaning and Hope in Jesus

I was a sinful man. I was always alone. I wanted to play all my life. I wanted to find love. You met me a long time ago. And you wanted to know me more. You discovered me with love. I know I'm not alone anymore.

The meaning of my life is there. It was enough for me. I go through all the sufferings. When our Lord comes. I believe in Him. I'm looking for life. You met me. You wanted to give me more. I know I'm not alone anymore.

It was enough for me. Suffering and loneliness. It was enough for me. It's really amazing that we can sing about the fact that we have a new hope. That we have a heart of peace. Because we have someone who gives us the meaning of life.

We have someone who leads our lives. Thank God for the fact that God is the one who leads each one of us. I believe that God will do great things tonight. We don't have to be afraid. We don't have to be afraid.

Because we have a new meaning. Because God is with us. And you are not alone. Even if you don't understand it. Each one of you who can live a happy life with God. But I know that there are a lot of people in this place right now.

Who are maybe wandering. And they have a hard life. And they don't know where to go. If you are missing something. I want to give you a happy answer. It's Jesus. You are sitting here happy. God will never leave us.

The attack is gone. We have a special guest.

His name is David Wilkerson. He came with his son Gary Wilkerson. We want to welcome him too. Let's give him a round of applause. As a sign of our respect and gratitude. That they flew so far to come to us.

Some of you may know that David Wilkerson's mother was from Slovakia. So he is our relative. One of us. David Wilkerson is 72 years old. And he has a lot of services for God. He has a lot of experience.

And I believe that each of us will be able to contribute something. He wrote in 1989. Many of you who are here today. At the local demonstration. For the five iron wheels. When we rang the bells. Do you remember that time?

The last ringing. And at that time I was studying. At a high school. I was at the boarding school. And I got this book. We can see in your hand. Who of you read the book. The Cross of David Wilkerson.

Wow. 80 if I'm not mistaken. These lights allow me to see. So you must have heard the stories. Of a young educated poet. Who was called David Wilkerson. Nicky Cruz. Who was one of the leaders of the gang.

And then he turned around. He really met God's love. Or Israel. Or Angela. And those stories touched my life. And those chapters. I literally cried over many of them. They changed my life. And today we have David Wilkerson here.

Personally. And I believe that it will be very interesting. To hear the story of this. Brave man. Weak in himself. But strong in God. And it will be very interesting. To hear about. Who shaped in life.

This simple man. Who has roots in Slovakia. But spiritual roots. He has in God's kingdom. Glory to the Lord. Maybe you are not. David Wilkerson was in New York. His book. Which he wrote. Nicky Cruz. It was translated.

I think into 30 languages. And about 15 million copies. It was sold. According to that book. It was made into a film. Which saw. 50 million viewers. 150 countries of the world. It's really amazing. Maybe you are not.

You are not a drug addict. Because we know. That he served mainly as a drug addict. But. Each of us. We have our problems. Each of us. We are on the same boat. Author. Arthur Conan Doyle. Once made a Canadian hotdog.

And. He shot his friends. And 12. Prominent men. Of that country. Who were courteous. Who were famous. So they were sent a telegram. Where it stood. Everything is revealed. Quick escape. All 12 to 24 hours.

Abandoned country. So. Maybe you're not a drug addict. But each of us. We have something. What are we fighting for. And we can't change. Your past. But. Thank God. We can change. Your future. And. Thank God.

We can change. Your eternity. Through Jesus Christ.

So. Let's clap again. And. Let's welcome. David Abel Carson. Let's pray. Let's pray. I pray Lord Jesus. While we're standing in your presence.

Prayer for Healing and a Miraculous Word

You will come with mighty power. I ask you to speak to everyone who came to this building. I ask you to speak to everyone who came to this stadium. Lord Jesus. We believe that you want to do something miraculous tonight.

That you want to change hearts. That you want to heal those who are broken. Lord. So many people are suffering tonight. And you know exactly what's going on in their lives. You know everything about them.

Lord. We want to see your miracle tonight. And we ask through Holy Spirit. Take the word that I preach. And make it bring life. In Christ's name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.

Jesus Heals the Deaf and Mute

Please, no one come in here for pictures. And no one pick a random people, please. This is a life and death moment. The Bible tells a story. About a man who was led to Jesus. He was deaf and mute. He didn't hear.

He didn't know how to speak.

Let's read the story. You don't have to read it. Most of you don't see it. But we will read it for you. Then he went again to the sea of Galilee. To the midst of the coast of the Caucasus.

Then he went again to the midst of Tyre and Sidon. And he came to the sea of Galilee. To the midst of ten cities. And they brought him to Jesus.

He was deaf and mute.

And they asked him to put his hands on him. And he took him from the crowd. And he put his fingers into his ears. And he touched his tongue. And he looked up to heaven. And he said, Ephatah. Which means, open up.

And his ears were opened. And his tongue was opened. And he spoke right.

We don't know who brought this man to Jesus.

It may have been his parents. It may have been his friends. But here's a young man. Who had a cry in his heart. But he couldn't speak it. He couldn't tell it to anybody. But I know who he is. He represents all of us in this room tonight.

All of us who have been baptized. And you can't explain it. You can't talk to anybody about it. Even your friends.

No minister would know. Your parents wouldn't know. Even a wife can't understand.

Some of us. There are wives here without their medicines. And there's a cry. There are ministers here. That have a problem. But they can't express it. There's a cry in their heart.

And here, we don't know it. He can't explain. He can't talk.

He can't explain what's wrong with him. He can't talk. I wonder how many times he tried to speak. How many times he tried to speak. Maybe he tried. And nothing but a whine, a murmur, something irrelevant, unintelligent came out of his mouth.

And I can imagine what he was thinking. If I could just speak one time. I would scream to everybody. I'm not stupid. I have a good mind. But I can't speak.

I have a feeling that has been pent up in his heart all these years. He would say, none of you know what I went through.

None of you understand what I went through. No one understood what I went through. I know who this boy represents. He represents many, many young people. First of all, those young people who think they are Christians.

Young People Without Fire for Christ

And it's a mystery to me. I'm 72 years old. But there is something I don't understand. Good young people. Many of them go to church. But they are not on fire for Christ. They are so passive. There is no fire.

Many of them don't use drugs. They don't drink alcohol. And they are good kids. But there is something inside them that they can't express. I have 4 kids and 10 grandkids. And there are things that amaze me.

My grandkids are amazing kids. I'm a little worried about some of them.

They live in various parts of the country. And when they come to hear me preach,.

They come to Times Square Church. And I see them sitting there. And I know that they are not on fire for Christ. They are lucky.

They love their grandpa. They love me. And they know that I pray. They know I speak the heart of God.

And I preach with tears in my eyes. And when I invite young people, when I invite young people to come and give everything to Christ, I see that some of them are not motivated at all. At least from the outside.

And I can't understand that. So I went to one of my grandsons. And he is lifting weights. And I sat on the floor beside him. And I said to him, I want to ask you something. You know I love you. And I know that you are a good guy.

And I know that you are morally pure. But I never see you read the Bible. I never see you pray. I never see you wipe yourself after Christ. If you really have him, if you experience him in your life, there should be some proof.

But what is this silence about?

What is this passivity about?

Confusion, Relationships, and the Cry Without a Voice

And I asked this question to one of my grandsons. I said, I drove here today. And I don't want to leave until you tell me what is going on in your heart. I need an explanation. And he said, Grandpa, I can't tell you.

But there is something in my heart.

I am confused.

I am confused about my relationships. I am confused about sexual behavior. I am confused about our country and where it is going in politics.

I have so many questions. And I am not angry with God. But I can't explain it. If I could, I would tell you. But I am all bound up inside. I tried to get it out of him. And he just shook his head. And he said, Grandpa, this is the same story with all my friends.

We can't explain what we are going through. People expect something of you.

And you see what is going on in the world.

And you hear all the instructions about how you should behave. You want to talk. You want to express it. But you don't know how. I got in my car. I put my head on the wheel. I said, Oh God! I hear a cry.

There is some kind of a cry in him. But it has no voice. It doesn't come out of his mouth. And that's how this mess was born in my heart. A whole generation that is confused. They are not mad at God. But they are into relationships that are wrong.

They have all of this demonic activity all around them. Think of Harry Potter. Think of all the dragons. Think of all the occult activity that is going on.

They have an anti-Christ spirit that is in schools. They have all the pressures. And they end up with this cry that they can't express.

The Need for a Personal Encounter with Jesus

In our church.

They come to me later. They say, I invited my husband. First time he came today. And he is a good husband.

And he doesn't know God. And I prayed for him.

And he came. He has been here three Sundays now. He loves the music. He likes your preaching. And he goes to church. I said, Why don't you want to give your life to Christ? He said, I can't explain it.

I don't know. There is something inside. And when I know that it is the right time, I will do it. But I don't know what is going on inside of me. I don't know what your cry is tonight. But I know one thing about this boy.

He needed an encounter with Jesus. He had heard about Christ. I don't have any doubt that he heard it with the word of God. And through the word of God, they explained to him what an amazing experience they had with Christ.

How Jesus healed them. And I want to tell you something. Every one of you young people, if you are here tonight, you are young people who are not serving Christ. Maybe you have a child who is on drugs.

Maybe you have a girlfriend who is sleeping with her boyfriend. You may have a troubled family. And they are like this young man. They can't hear. And they can't speak.

Because there is something found up inside.

Satan tied it all up inside of them. I don't know if he was born this way. The Bible doesn't say that. But can you imagine how stupid it would be to remind this boy and tell him, why don't you talk? You can't force it like that.

He didn't have the ability to talk. He didn't have the ability to hear. And this is a problem with many parents. Can you imagine these parents saying, I know what I'm doing. I'm going to love him so much.

I'm going to love him into hearing. And my love will heal his ability to speak. Let me tell you straight. After 40 years of working with troubled young people, you can't love them.

You can't talk them out of their sin.

The only hope they have is to be at a meeting like this. Or to meet a friend who will talk to them. To meet someone who met Christ. And they have to stand before Jesus. And they have to experience their own meeting with Christ.

Bringing the Spiritually Deaf to Christ Through Prayer

And they can't get there on their own. The Bible says that they brought him to Christ. How do we bring him to Christ? People who are spiritually deaf or spiritually mute can't hear or can't speak. We do it through prayer.

Through prayer. Weeping.

Brokenness. I have a mother come backstage in church. She comes backstage.

Someone came backstage. Our church is in the theater. And we have a stage there. She says to me, please pray for my son. He's in prison. He's a drug addict and a dealer. And I said to her, I have a question.

In the last 30 days, how many tears have you shed for your son?

She's asking me to pray for your boy. And I'm asking you.

How much time have you prayed? She bowed her head. She said, you know, I have a hard job. And I work long hours. I have no time to pray. I haven't prayed for him. And I prayed for your son. You really don't want him saved.

You really don't want him saved. I know what God says to me. And I say it with love and kindness. You come home tired at night. And you turn on television. And you sit there for hours. And you have time for everything else.

You have free time for anything else. But you don't have time to pray for your children who are lost. Listen to me, mother. Father. If you have a son who is in trouble. If you have a daughter who is in trouble.

Don't tell me that you want them to be saved. Don't tell me that you want them to be changed. If you have enough time to watch television and have fun. If you have enough time to go shopping. If you have enough time to spend hours on the phone.

When was the last time you spent an hour in prayer for your children? When was the last time you slept with tears in your eyes because the situation of your children troubles you? We have millions of children from Christian families who pray to God to send their Holy Spirit and to make their children to Jesus.

The only way you can bring your children to Jesus. The only way they can experience personal encounters with Him. Is that we ourselves will experience a change from God. And we realize, God, if I don't pray.

Nobody is going to pray. And my son, my daughter is going to hell. If I don't pray and I don't look for God. Dear mother and father. And you say, you expect that the Lord will say, well done job. I am on my way to heaven.

But what did you do all day long? What did you do when you saw your children stand before Christ? The Bible tells us that we will answer for every sin. And when you see the book of life open. And you will hear that judgment will be brought against them.

I wonder if they look your direction.

I wonder if they look your direction. I wonder if there will be a last moment scream. I wonder if there will be a last moment scream. Why didn't you stop me? Why didn't you stop me? Why didn't you pray for me?

Why did I never hear you pray?

Why did I never see you weep over me?

Why did I never see you weep over me? I am going to hell and you are going to heaven. They brought him to Christ. And they made him, they besought him till they had his arms to give him. And they made him, they besought him till they had his arms to give him.

Jesus' Compassionate and Private Ministry

Here is what Jesus did. The Bible says Jesus took him aside. He had a meeting with him at one of the bases.

Jesus knew the problem. He knew what this boy was going through.

And Jesus said, I will not allow this to be a show. And I want to tell you what I hate and what I despise. To go to a meeting which is called a healing meeting. And there are really some real meetings where healing happens.

And I do not blame the evangelists who serve healing. But I have been at meetings and I have seen how people were brought forward. And some of them could not speak. They were mute, they could not hear.

And this boy, this boy and the whole crowd pray for him, for her. And then they stand back and ask, he has learned to read lips. He can not hear, but he can read lips. And if somebody meets him down here, he wants to run away.

Because they made a fool out of him. They made a show out of him. And I see it. I see it on Christian television. But it is a mockery of the Holy Ghost. It is a mockery of the power of Jesus Christ. Jesus took this boy aside.

He did not want this to be a show. You are hurting. You need healing. You need a miracle. But it is something between you and me. Jesus did not condemn him. Jesus did not abuse him. Jesus did not try to make him understand something He did not try to communicate in a different way.

But he told him, this is because of sin. I believe that Jesus embraced this young man and they went shoulder to shoulder. He put his arm around his shoulder. And he said, come, so that you can meet personally with Jesus.

Jesus will not abuse you. He will not make a show out of you. If you are suffering, if you walk with a cry, and you come to Jesus, I will tell you what will happen at this meeting. There is a big difference between the story we read and what we have here tonight.

Because since this story was written, even when it brings you to Jesus, and tonight when I am speaking, the Holy Spirit is here, and while I am speaking, He is bringing you, He is calling you, and the Holy Spirit is saying, come to Jesus.

I am going to speak to your heart. And you will have a changed life. Jesus made a face to face with this young man. And the Bible tells us that he put his fingers into his ear. I used to think that that was Jesus putting his fingers into the ear of this young man.

And the Bible goes on to say that he swam and touched his tongue. I thought that Jesus swam on the tongue of this young man. But that is not what it says here. The Bible tells us that Jesus showed him something with the word of mouth.

He put his fingers into his ears. And he said, open up. I will open your ears. Jesus swam. A man who has a bound tongue, who is tongue-tied, cannot swim. His tongue cannot move. And what Jesus is saying here, he just touches his tongue.

And what he says to him, he says to him, you will be normal. You will be able to hear. You will be able to speak. You will be able to swim. That may sound crude to you, but that was a miracle. And then the Bible says, looking up to heaven, he groaned.

He hadn't healed him yet. But he sighed.

A heaviness. And in the original, it infers that there was a loud groan.

I imagine something like this. Oh! And what was the cry? Jesus is feeling the pain of this boy. All the shame. All the years. All the nights. Wanting to speak. All those moments when he wanted to speak.

When he wanted to hear. Wanting to be free. And the shout, the groan that Jesus made, was the moment when Jesus looked at the whole story. Even to this night. Into this building. To the seat where you are sitting.

And he heard your cry that you are experiencing inside. The cry that was hidden in you. I worked with addicts for 40 years. And I saw Jesus hear that cry. And I saw how many times Jesus made such a sigh.

Jesus Hears the Cry of the Addicted and Despairing

He was a drug addict in Brooklyn. He was so addicted. He had had enough of his habit. He was on the verge of committing suicide. He went through many rehabilitation programs, but none of them helped him.

And there is a small room. He laid on his bed. He took his needle. He stuffed it. He pulled the needle full of his blood. And he pointed the needle towards the ceiling. And he wrote four letters on it.

Help. No voice. But God heard that cry.

Jesus heard help in his own blood. And Jesus healed him. He said, if I could just have three days locked in my room, maybe I could kick my habit. He stole some police handcuffs. He went into his room.

Locked the door. And handcuffed himself to a heater. 50, 60 pounds.

This gave heat to the room.

And for hours he sat there, handcuffed to that heater. And he got so sick. So desperate.

It only made him breathe. He couldn't break away. And after a few hours, in anger, he tore the handcuffs out of the wall. He tore it out of the pipe. He put it on his back. And went to the pusher. To get a bag of heroin.

To kill his pain. And Jesus heard that cry.

One boy. He'd been on drugs for 14, 15 years.

And there was so many hits.

With that track, I'm reminded of my habit. And I want to go get a fix.

If I can get rid of that track.

He got an iron frying pan. Put it on the stove. Got a lighthouse.

Closed his eyes. Pushed it on his arm. To burn it off. To the pusher. To get heroin. For 40 years. This cry.

Religious Identity Is Not Conversion

There's a lot of people here tonight.

Especially young people. If you had a question.

What does it mean? Well, I have a Catholic background. I was born a Catholic. I was born a Protestant. What does it mean? I was born religious.

But I want to tell you something.

Walking into a bar doesn't make you a whore.

Walking into a church doesn't make you a Christian. Walking into a church doesn't make you a Christian. Walking into a mass doesn't make you a Christian. You have to have experience with Jesus. And he's the only one that can heal you.

Suicide, Despair, and the Need for Christ

There was a young man in our group a few years ago. He was a regular in a television production. Beautiful young lady.

Everybody thought she had everything that she could want.

But you could see something in her eyes. And she would cry during the preaching. She had some friends that were praying with her.

There was a cry that nobody could understand.

She was invited so many times. I invited her a number of times. Come. Jesus knows what you're going through. She said nobody cares. Nobody understands. There's no reason to live. She committed suicide.

His love is in our car. He didn't know Christ. At least he said he did. But he was this one that I'm talking about.

So passive. No fire. No great love in Christ's eyes. So he tried other religions. He ended up in Islam. But it confused him. And this mother was praying for him. Every day. She sought God. She said, Oh God, bring him home.

Open his eyes. Help him hear the sermon in Time Square. She said, I'll not let the devil have my son.

She told me how she put her whole heart into God until that boy was saved. He gets so discouraged. He goes up in the high rise in New York City. And he was 10 stories high. Went to the edge of the room.

There's no use. And he jumped. But he didn't die. He broke a leg. Came to church.

He said, I wanted to die. But I can't even die.

So this mother was praying for me.

My church on fire for God. My other son has just made a movie.

About young people who had a miracle. And he's one of those guys. You don't have to jump. You don't have to cut a vein. You don't have to sell yourself. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you now. In just a moment, I'm going to give you an invitation.

The Invitation to Open the Heart to Jesus

I'm going to be the one the Holy Spirit will use to bring you to the face of Christ. When the Lord Jesus said to this guy, What does it mean? Open up. Be healed. And immediately he was healed. His eyes were opened.

You don't have to scream at God. It's not some big scene we're looking for. It's just a heart.

It says, I want to be free. And this is the last thing I want to say. He knows what you've been doing.

He knows what your eyes have been looking at. He knows where your hands have been.

He knows. He knows everything you've been doing. He knows every thought you've been thinking. And he's not here to condemn you. He's not here to put you down. He knows every marriage that's going through hell.

But God knows the pain. He knows what you're going through. And Christ is healing you. He's here tonight. Change it. We're going to see a miracle tonight. You watch and see. Eyes open. And be turned off face.

Thank you. Nobody's going to look at you. Nobody's going to film you. This is between you and Jesus.

Calling People from Suicide and Despair to Christ

While I'm praying I know something.

Because the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. Five and six o 'clock I was praying and the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart.

That there will be at the end of their self. I can't take anymore.

And save many people from suicide. He's going to do it here tonight. And while I pray if God has been speaking to you tonight if you say, Brother David, this message was for me no matter how young or old you are especially if you've been passive in the eyes of Jesus if you've lost the fire but you've been deep inside you know what's happening.

And so does Jesus. He loves you. And He wants to heal you tonight. While I pray I want you to get right out of your seats. And if it's your case I want you to come and stand here in the front. In the next five minutes we're going to see hundreds of young people here in the front.

We're going to see married people up here. We're going to see people of many different ages. And we're going to have an encounter. A miraculous encounter. A life-changing moment. Forget about everyone around you.

Because when I pray the Holy Spirit is going to touch your heart. And He's going to say, Come on. Come here. Tonight is the night. And when you hear the call some of you have it right now get right out of your seats.

If your friend wants to come with you take him with you. Ask him. I don't want you to wait. I want you to wait. But I want to ask you people coming all the way come all the way real close because many people are going to come.
