Catholic Mass / Re-Sacrificing Jesus HAPPENING AT SOULFEST - Greenfield MA- John MacArthur Responds

Hello, just a quick update on SoulFest, which is being advertised as a Christian music festival happening right here in our area.

Before the music starts, we found out that in the morning, guess what they do? They hold a

Roman Catholic Mass. You can see it on the screen. This is from the

SoulFest website. They also have representatives from the Catholic Diocese of Springfield.

So if your evangelical friends didn't participate in the re -sacrifice of Jesus Christ, because that's what the

Mass is, it's when a Roman priest once again lays Christ on a

Roman altar and supposedly re -sacrifices him again and again until the end of the world.

Those are their words, not mine. I'll play a sermon clip in a moment where Pastor John MacArthur speaks about the heresy of the

Roman Catholic Mass. But if your evangelical friends didn't participate in that, the people at SoulFest are holding an event where you can ask a

Roman Catholic priest questions. So maybe your evangelical friends can be converted to the religion led by Pope Francis.

Imagine that. So here is what you need to understand about SoulFest. It's not just an ecumenical event.

It is an interfaith event. And nearly all the musicians, they're almost all charismatic.

Because it is a stated goal of the charismatic movement to seek unity with the

Catholic Church and the Pope. Now, I don't know any pastors locally that are supporting this concert.

The only pastors I know who are supporting it are the Pentecostal and Charismatic pastors.

My friends, Pope Francis is the biggest false prophet, the biggest false teacher on earth.

Evangelicals cannot have unity with Rome and the Pope. And that's what the organizers of SoulFest are trying to do.

So please be careful. But here is Pastor John MacArthur to speak about the

Roman Catholic Mass. John O 'Brien, a Catholic priest, has helped

Roman Catholics to understand the importance of the Mass. He has written a book called

The Faith of Millions, The Credentials of the Catholic Religion. It is a classic work.

This is what he writes, John O 'Brien, very popular work. When the priest announces the tremendous words of consecration, this is the

Mass, he reaches up into the heavens, brings Christ down from His throne and places

Him upon our altar to be offered up again as the victim for the sins of man. It is a power exercised by the priest greater than that of saints and angels, greater than that of seraphim and cherubim.

Indeed, it is a power greater even than the power of the Virgin Mary. While the

Blessed Virgin was the human agency by which Christ became incarnate a single time, the priest brings

Christ down from heaven and renders Him present on our altar as the eternal victim.

You wonder why you always see a crucifix and not an empty cross? The priest brings

Stop there for a moment. You see the comparison? Mary only brought Him into the world once, the priest brings Him down thousands of times.

He has greater power than the Virgin Mary. In other words, the Mass is really

Christ. It is really a sacrifice on a real altar by a real priest, just like priests in the

Old Testament offered an animal on the altar as a sacrifice. The only difference is it is an unbloody one, but Christ is nonetheless immolated, or offered, or sacrificed.

Okay, so there you go. Hopefully you understand that the Roman Catholic Mass, to call it unbiblical, is an understatement.

It truly is a heresy, where the Roman priest claims to have the authority to pull

Christ down from heaven and re -sacrifice Him again on one of their Roman altars.

Mass. But let's just pray for everybody who is going to this, that if some saved evangelicals are going, that they won't be deceived, and that people will wake up to what's going on here at Soulfest.
