The doctrine for this Sunday is Satan and the demons,
00:11
Satan and the demons. Last week, you'll remember that we looked at the subject of the holy angels.
00:17
So today we are going to briefly touch on the subject of the fallen angels, also referred to as demons or unclean spirits.
00:27
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter 11, verse 14, that Satan is able to transform himself into an angel of light.
00:38
And then in Revelation 12, it tells of the devil and his angels being cast out of heaven.
00:45
So based on these verses and others, it seems clear that when God created the angels, they were created holy, but Lucifer convinced one third of the holy angels to follow him in his rebellion, at which point
01:03
Lucifer became the devil, the most powerful of all the fallen angels.
01:09
And according to Job chapter one in first Peter chapter five, verse eight says that Satan walks to and fro upon the earth, seeking whom he may devour.
01:23
Now what many people fail to understand about Satan is that the
01:28
Lord allows him to exist for a reason. The Lord allows him to exist to fulfill the will of God.
01:38
God will test, but the devil tempts and his demons can possess the bodies of unbelievers.
01:48
The scripture says about Jesus, this was part of his ministry. Mark one verse 39, that he was preaching in their synagogues throughout all
01:56
Galilee and casting out demons. According to Matthew 25, 41 and revelation 20, verse 10, the lake of fire was prepared for the devil and his angels.
02:11
That is where they will end up. But the message for us, the message we need to listen to is found in the book of James chapter four, verse seven, which says, therefore submit to God, resist the devil.
02:28
Don't rebuke the devil. Don't get into a conversation with the devil, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
