Hello, welcome back to Dated by It's God's Word, this is Andy Cain, and it is a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 51. It says, The arrogant utterly scoff at me, yet I do not turn aside from your law.
This is one of the keys to being a consistent Christian, is knowing that the arrogant, the sinful, the non -Christians, the ones who hate
God, who hate God's law, they're going to scoff at us. If you've ever been called a goody -two -shoes, or, you know, oh look, there goes
Joe Blow Christian going to church again, or there goes Andy that Christian, and you know, he thinks he's better than everybody, and he's trying to, you know, live for God.
You know, you get scoffed at, mocked at at work, and different places you find yourself this can happen, and the temptation is to give in, go along with the crowd, act like the scoffers or the sinners to fit in, to not have to undergo that level of, you know, ridicule and things like that, but we must stand firm, and that's what the psalmist is saying here.
Yet, even in the face of this, I do not turn aside from your law.
He says I'm not going to turn aside from following God, obeying His commandments, and doing everything that I know
I'm supposed to be doing, and what I ought to be doing. This is what God has called me to be, and this is what
I should be, and so I encourage you no matter what you face, no matter how many times you face it, no matter how hard it gets, don't turn aside.
Keep forging the path, keep moving forward, growing in holiness, because it is worth it, my friends.
Any amount of acceptance you may get from the world is not worth it, and doesn't compare to the joy of being a child of God.
