Mormon man gets saved!

And so, the Jesus of the Bible is the eternal God. He's not created by the Father, he's not Satan's brother, he's the eternal God. God became a man in Jesus Christ, lived the life that you and I failed.

The problem is this, here's where the Mormon Church also has a false gospel, is this, is the Mormon Church teaches you that we're all sinners and that we need to obey God's laws and believe in Jesus to work towards exaltation and becoming a God, so depending on how good we are, it depends on which kingdom we go to.

Only God judges us.

Well, here's the thing also, is that nowhere in the Bible is that taught, period. As a matter of fact, that's a false gospel. The Bible teaches us about me and you, and you've got to hear this because this is the most important thing you need to know, man.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That's our position before God. There's none righteous, not even one. There's none who does good. And the Bible says that all of our righteousnesses are as filthy rags to God.

We have no hope before God by ourselves. The Bible says we're... I'm going to give you some words in Romans. We're helpless, we're ungodly, we're sinners, we're enemies of God outside of Christ. And the reason why your life and my life has been the way it has been is because we're rebels against a holy God.

This God is amazing, though, because listen to what he does. God demonstrates his love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. The Bible says this, the wages of sin is death. What I earn from my sin is death, spiritual death, and also ultimately I die physically as well, obviously, and eternal death away from God.

That's what the Bible says about sin. I'm separated from God because of my sin, but here's the Bible, this is the good news. The gift of God, the gift, the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ,.

Our Lord.

Here's the good news. God became a man and dwelt among us. He's the righteous one. He's the sinless one. He lived a life that we have completely and totally failed. He comes as our substitute. He lives a life that you failed and I failed.

He dies as a substitute for his people. He dies in their place. He dies and he takes the full wrath of the Father in my place. So what I deserve from my sin, Jesus fully took, completely. And he rose again, and here's what he offers.

Through faith in him, he gives you the free gift of eternal life. By believing in him and trusting in him and what he's done and trusting in Christ, you're saved, forgiven, you're declared not guilty by God on the basis of faith.

And if you try, the Bible says that if you try to mingle works in there, if you try to say it's faith in Jesus and also what I do, I need to try to obey this or do that, the Bible says you're now under the curse of the law to fulfill all of it, because God's a righteous God.

And he can't accept some righteousness. It has to be perfect righteousness. So either it's me being judged for my sin, or it's Jesus who is judged in my place. Paul says this, we conclude that a man is justified, that is declared not guilty, declared perfectly righteous, is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

There is no righteousness of my own before a holy God, because I'm already a sinner. And what Mormonism teaches you is what was dealt with in the Bible. First century, Galatians, Paul had to deal with a false gospel that taught that it's faith in Jesus, and it was one part of obedience to the law.

They picked one part of obedience to God's law, and they said, well, you've at least got to do this. Faith in Jesus and do this one thing. One thing. Paul says this, if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died needlessly.

He didn't need to die. By grace are you saved, through faith in that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. And the Bible says this, to the one who works, you're working for salvation, you're trying to earn it, you're trying to obey his laws, you're trying to use his laws to get right with God.

He says, to the one who works, his wage, what he earns for that, is not credited as grace, but as what is due. In other words, if you work for something, for two weeks you've got a job, you've done this, you've got a job, you work, in two weeks you don't get a gift, you get a paycheck.

And Paul says this, if you're working for salvation, if you're trying to earn it through obedience to his laws and trying to do this and that, he says that what you get for working for something is a wage, but salvation is a gift.

You can't earn a gift. So he says this, here's the contrast, here's how you're saved. But to the one who does not work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, see, that's our position, we're ungodly.

Believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness. Your and my only hope, and the good news, is that through faith in Christ and what he's done for you, and his payment for your sins, and his righteous, perfect life applied to you, through faith in him, you are saved.

And you receive salvation in his name, through faith, and not by works. And if you try to mingle works in there, there is no salvation, because God's a holy God. And if you try to take his law and say, okay, God, I'll try to obey it, I'll try to be good, please make me right with you because I'm a good person, I'm trying to do this, God has to judge you as a holy God, as someone who broke his law, because you and I have both failed completely, completely.

And so our hope is through faith in Christ, not a righteousness that's our own, derived from the law, but a righteousness that comes from God, through Jesus Christ, by faith. And so the good news is that God loves sinners, man.

And Jesus says this, and dude, listen to this. How absolutely easy, simple the gospel message is. Jesus said, truly, truly, I say to you, and this is to you, he who hears my voice, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but is passed out of death into life.

The problem is, is that outside of Christ, you're dead, spiritually. And Jesus says that through faith in him, you have eternal life, you've gone from death to life, and that you're no longer condemned ever again, ever, for your sins.

And you enter a relationship with God where you are in Christ, and God declares you not guilty forever, forever. Eternal life starts now, not then, now, and it's through faith in Jesus. Not in what you could do, it's what Jesus did for you.

And through faith in Christ, God has adopted you as a son, he calls you his own, you have peace with God, you're no longer at war with God, you're called a son, not an enemy. You're called a saint, not a sinner.

And that's not because of you, it's because of what Jesus did for you. It's all of God's grace. You can't earn it, you could never be good enough. It's through faith in Jesus and what he's done. And so Jesus makes it simple, he says, repent and believe the gospel, it means to turn away from sin, turn away, turn around, and you put your faith in Christ.

You believe in him. A guy asked Paul a question, think how simple this is. He said, what must I do to be saved? And Paul said, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Because it's all grace, through faith in Christ.

But the Mormon church taught you that sure Jesus did this, but it's still also what you do. And in Nephi 25 -23, 2 Nephi 25 -23, Book of Mormon, it says, we know that by grace we are saved, after all we can do.

But the parallel in scripture that you can show to that, is the Bible says, by grace are you saved through faith, and not of yourselves. It is a gift of God, not according to works. So you see the difference?

Mormonism teaches, it's grace, sure, you need God's grace because we're sinners, but it's also what you do. The Bible says, by grace through faith, and not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not according to works, lest anyone should boast.

It's always been this way, from Genesis to Revelation, it's always been, you believe in God, and you're credited righteousness. God charges to your account Christ's righteousness.
