III. Lessons Learned
- Be careful who you trust, especially if you do not personally know them
- Examine all sides, discern evidence biblically and judge righteously
- The opposing side must be careful to not sin by distorting, misrepresenting, slandering, libel, reviling, etc.
- Do not throw the baby out with the bathwater
- Scripture alone is the ultimate, final, infallible standard of truth
- Necessity of biblical church standards and discipline, especially when a man claims to have some special message or authority from God
- Lookout for warning signs, inconsistencies, patterns, compromise
- People can and will let you down, but God is always Faithful and True
- Must humble ourselves, guard ourselves, our life and doctrine
