Samuel’s Early Life and His Role in Changing the Age

As I waited before the Lord for this time, I felt that probably it is of the Lord that we should consider the life of Samuel. We will not be able to cover his whole life, but we would like to consider the early days of his life.

Samuel occupies a very important place in the Bible, because he is an effort making vessel of God. God used him to change the time, changing from the time of the judges to the time of the kings. We remember when the children of Israel came out of Egypt, God led them into Canaan, the promised land.

But because of their unfaithfulness, they were not able to occupy the whole promised land. Instead of that, we find how the enemies within them and around them oppress them from time to time. God had mercy upon them.

When they cried to the Lord, the Lord heard them. And he sent to them judges to deliver them from the enemies. But even while the judges were there, the children of Israel did not really return to the Lord.

The Cycle of Oppression During the Judges

So you find the whole book of judges is a book of oppression and revival. Because of their unfaithfulness, God allowed their enemies to oppress them. And when they were under oppression, they cried to the Lord.

And God showed mercy to them. And raised up a judge to deliver them out of their enemies. But even when the judge was still alive, they already disobeyed God. So God raised up judges after judges. And yet their condition were not improved.

According to the book of Acts chapter 13 verse 20, it is said that in the days of the judges up to the time of Samuel, it was about 450 years. And during those 450 years, they were under oppression for over a hundred years.

And they had relief for 3 ,300 some years. And yet you find during the time of the judges, it was God's emergency measure for his people. It was not God's permanent purpose for his people. But out of emergency, God raised up judges to deliver them for a time.

During the time of the judges, as a matter of fact, no one judge controlled the whole nation of Israel. The children of Israel were not united as one nation. As a matter of fact, you find they even fought against each other.

And at one time, the tribe of Benjamin was almost annihilated. And not only that, but we find that their spiritual condition was not improved. So their deliverances were temporary. It was not God's permanent thought for his people.

God thought for his people that they might be a nation. That they were united in one. And they were to be a people that would be a testimony to God. But under the judges, this was never reached. But during the time of the judges, this was not reached.

Samuel and the Transition to Kingship

God wanted to give them a king. You know when you read the book of judges, you find a number of times the Holy Spirit gives his comment. And say, in those days, everybody does what is right in his own eyes, because there was no king.

Because there was no king. No one to unify them into one. No one to bring them to God. No one representing God to help his people. So everybody did whatever it was right in his own eyes. That was the condition during those 450 years.

And God wanted to change that time. He wanted to change from the time of the judges to the time of the king. That his permanent will for his people might be achieved. Because it was God's will to bless his people.

To bring his people to where he wanted them to be. And it could only be done under the system of kings. But in order to make that change, God was looking for a vessel. You know, this is the way of God.

God could do anything he wants to do. He can do it all by himself. But it pleases him. That he would rather find someone on earth. That would agree with him. That are willing to cooperate with him. That he can use to make that change.

So finally after 450 years, God found that vessel in Samuel. So that's the reason why Samuel is very important in the word of God. Now brothers and sisters, why do we want to go to the story of Samuel?

It is not because we want to review past history. We remember that whatever is recorded is for our admonition. 我们记得凡是记载在圣经里面的都是给我们有教训的。. 就是我们这些活在末世的人。. 我们是活在末世时代的人。. 我们是活在一个快要改变时代的人。. We are under the time of grace for almost 2000 years.

The Gospel, Grace, and the Coming Kingdom

God so loved the world. He showed his pity, his mercy towards us. So he sent his only begotten son, our Lord Jesus into this world. About 2000 years ago, God sent his son, his only begotten son into this world.

And while he was on this earth, he declared to us the God that we should know. 我们所需要认识的是何等的一位神。. 为着要救我们 ,他就为着我们的缘故上十字架。. 他就成了神的羔羊。. 他就把世上的罪孽归到他的身上。. 在十字架上 ,他为我们戴了十字架。. 希望神的恩典能够临到我们。. 凡相信他的 ,就不是灭亡 ,反而永生。.

这个福音已经传了二十个世纪。. 凡相信主耶稣基督的, 相信他就是神的儿子 ,就是基督。. 他就能够得救。. 所以我们活在恩典时代大概已经有两千年了。. 但是神要改变时代。. 圣经告诉我们, 有一天我们的主耶稣要回来。. 当他回来的时候, 他要审判世界。. 同时呢, 他也要征服他自己的心腹 ,就是那些相信他的人。. 现在在世上我们看见的每一件发生的事, 这一天实在是越来越近了。. 所以弟兄姊妹们, 我们知道我们实在是活在摩世最后的时候了。.

恩典的时代很快就要过去。. 公义的日子很快就要来到这个世上。. 我们的主耶稣他要回到这个世界。. 他要在地上设立他的国度。. 这个世代乃至公义党权的。. 但是为了要转移时代, 也是用同一的原则。. 神在寻找转移时代的人。. 神寻找一般的人 ,乃至与神同心的。. 他们实在是愿意把自己献给神的。. 他们能够把神的旨意带到这个世上。. 他们乃至神所能够使用来改变时代。. 但是唯一的不同在这里。. 神不是用一个的人 ,好像汤姆尔一样, 今天神乃是用一个身体的器皿。.

乃至一般的人。. 就是神所拣选的。. 就是神所选举的。. 就是神所能够使用来做一个改变的。. 当耶稣头一次来的时候。. 在这个时候 ,也有这样的人在世上。. 当神要把他儿子带到世上的时候。. 两千年前。. 他也在寻找转移时代的人。. 当你看这四本呼应书的时候。. 你就看见他寻找到这样的人。. 就好像撒加利亚和伊丽莎白。. 你知道这一对年老的夫妇。. 他们是那样的爱神。. 他们怎样的敬畏神。. 神就能够使用他们。.

就叫施洗约翰能够出生。. 就是我们主耶稣的先锋。. 祂是预备主的道路的。. 同时呢。. 你又看见有一个丛女玛丽亚。. 神也能够使用她来带定祂的徒孙。. 你又看见在圣殿里面有西面有安娜。. 就在那个时候。. 有一些的人。. 他们实在是在那里等待彼赛亚。. 他们是在为祂预备道路的。. 结果这些人。. 神的儿子就能够第一次地进到这个世界。. 那现在第二次的再来。. 主时代要快来了。. 所以他一直在寻找这样的器皿。.

这一切的人他们会带进君王的。. 这一些就是转移时代的人。. 所以弟兄姊妹们。. 我们看见法洛尔他的生平实在对我们是非常重要的。. 因为从他的一生我们就能够学习一些的原则。. 这些原则就是神所使用来经起转移时代的器皿。. 靠着神的恩典。. 我们就能够成为这样的器皿。. 这一个转移时代的人。. 好不好我们一同来看撒末尔第一章。. 撒末尔第一章第一章。. 我们不能够把全章都读完了。. 我们只能选一几段来看。.

Hannah’s Affliction and God’s Higher Purpose

但是我盼望你们回去能够把整章都读了。. 撒末尔第一章第一章。. 我们从第九节读起。. 撒末尔第一章第二章。. 撒末尔第一章第三章。. 撒末尔第一章第九节。. 撒末尔第一章第三章。. 故事的开始来自哈纳。. 哈纳的意思就是恩典。. 你知道希伯来人。. 他们的名字都是有意思的。. 就好像中国人一样。. 你知道当你的父母亲为你起名的时候都有一个意思的。. 所以这个女人她的名字叫做哈纳。. 哈纳的意思就是恩典。.

她实在是一个非常有恩典的女人。. 她是一个敬畏神的女人。. 她是一个非常好的金钱的女人。. 但是很不幸的。. 她不能生育。. 你知道在 就业的时候。. 特别是按照律法来说。. 你知道神允许那些凡敬畏他的都要有许多的儿女。. 你知道在就业的时候。. 神的恩典乃是肉身的。. 是物质的。. 因为以色列民乃是神在世上的子民。. 如果有人他们是敬畏神的。. 神就要祝福她和她许多的儿女。. 但是如果有一个女人她不能生育的话。.

人就以为她是一个被神咒诛的女人。. 但是你在这里看见一个非常不平常的事。. 因为哈娜她是一个敬畏神的人。. 然而不知怎么样她不能生育。. 相反的。. 她有另外一个女人。. 她不是一个敬贤的人。. 其实她是一个骄傲的女人。. 有极度非常喜欢取笑别人的人。. 然而她是有许多的儿女。. 所以每一次家里人去下一楼。. 去祷告神。. 每一次他们吃饭和喝酒。. 她一直被那个邪恶的女人迫害。. 可能那个邪恶的女人说。.

你看起来很神似的。. 你是被神所咒诛的。. 所以每一年当他们到了这个阶级。. 他就吃不下。. 他就在哭了。. 毫无疑问的哈娜向神祷告。. 当然。. 她实在不明白为什么。. 就好像神没有按照自己的应许来行事。. 然而神没有叫她被判别。. 祷了。. 但是哈娜不是。. 但是一年过一年她还是在祷告。. 一年过一年她在这里祷告的时候。. 她就求神你听她的祷告就给她一个儿。. 然后她就开始奇怪为什么神没有听她的祷告。.

为什么神要带她到这么一个困难的地步。. 就好像这个地步好像叫她和神都受了羞辱。. 因为好像神没有按照祂的应许来行事。. 但是当她这样的好像受伤了。. 她就明白为什么神叫她受伤了。. 在生命里面有一个更高的目标。. 有的时候当我们一看见我们到了一个地步好像不能够解释的时候。. 好像那些敬畏神的受到咒诅那些没有敬畏神的就在了呼吁。. 就好像神没有按照祂所说的话来行事。. 你有没有被叛逃了。. 或者你还是在祂的面前等候。.

只等到你看见神在你的生命里面有一个更高的心意。. 被检选的器皿。. 所以最后到了一年。. 她们又再一次到圣殿里面敬拜神。. 再一次她在那里祷告。. 她没有出声的祷告。. 她的嘴唇在动。. 但是没有声音。. 她说哇! 李洛给我一个儿子。. 她自己立课。. 把她的心意向她们显明。. 所以你看当Hannah在祷告的时候。. 当她在那里好像经过生产制服的时候。. 向她显明了。. 你向我求一个儿子。. 我在器皿。.

在哪里找到这个器皿呢? 我叫你不能生育。. 她说一个儿子乃是从神迹而生的。. 当你找到Hannah。. 开始了理解。. 因为后来当你读她的祈祷。. 你会发现她理解了。. 她愿意吃那个器皿。. 但不是为了她自己。. 而是为了神的心意。. 亲爱的弟兄妹妹。. 你知道这就是沙漠儿怎么样可以诞生这个世界的。. 他并不是按照普通的方式生下来的。. 他乃是从神迹而生的。. 他乃是因着神直接的干预而生的。. 应用在我们的身上。.

The Supernatural New Birth

我们已经说过神在寻找转移时代的器皿。. He cannot find it in the endemic race. Why? Because that which is of the flesh the natural man cannot receive the thing making that thing. There has to be a super natural birth. You find that God first sent his son into this world.

And to bear our sins in his own body on the cross. 在十字架上他擔當了我們的罪 and then you find that out of his sight came out blood and water 我們就看見從他的肋膀流出水與血 blood to redeem 我們的罪 water as life to give us life 水要我們得活生命 so the bible said 所以聖經告訴我們 he that is born of the Nicodemus came to the Lord Jesus 你知道有一天尼克底姆來到主耶穌面前 and Nicodemus said we understand you are a teacher from heaven 尼克底姆說我們知道你是從天上來的教師 in other words person that was look up to and yes he was humble enough to come to the Lord 然而他很謙卑來到主的面前 but he came at night 但是他晚上來了 because he was afraid of his other pharisees 他要尋找主 he came to the Lord Jesus 他來到主耶穌的面前 wanted to be taught 他要探索一切的教訓 but our Lord Jesus knew his heart 但是主耶穌知道他的心 so the Lord said 主耶穌就對他說 except a man be born again he cannot see water and also the kingdom of God 人若不識不能夠見神的果 in other words 換句話說 God cannot use the necromancy 神不能夠用天然的人 so God has to do something supernatural 所以神必須做一些超自然的事 and thank God today 感謝神 if anyone believe in the Lord Jesus 今天如果有任何的人他們相信主耶穌 he is born again 他已經是重生的 he is born from above 他是從上面生的 he is born of the spirit of God 他是從神的聖靈生的 so dear brothers and sisters in a sense all who believe in the Lord Jesus 一個是天然的誕生 and one is the supernatural birth 一個是超自然的誕生 and because we are brought into this world supernaturally so in a general sense 所以整體來說 all of us the foundation is there 所以你看見這裡已經有根基了 the foundation of the world 在沒有世界以前 God has already chosen you in Christ Jesus already ordained that you will be because of that He has brought you into that new birth 因此這個新的誕生 so dear brothers and sisters do not think that new birth is just something given to you to enjoy 不要以為新的命 but remember 但是要記得 God has brought up into that new birth that He made one day 當神禱告的時候 He said if you will She said if you will give me a son 祂說你如果給我一個兒子 I will give it back to you Do you understand what it means? 你明不明白這裡是說什麼呢? Why is there no razor upon his head? 為什麼不棄他的頭呢? and for life in the book of numbers 因為在名符記那裡 you know in the book of numbers chapter 6 在名書記第六章 that whole chapter is devoted to this matter of the vow of the Nazarite 他們的許的願 in other words during those days 你知道在那個時候 because the children of Israel when God called them to Himself 當神呼召以色列名的時候 you remember at the foot of Mount Sinai 你知道在Mount Sinai recorded in Exodus 19 在土耳其記第十九章 God revealed His mind to His redeemed people 神的使命顯明了 Why did God deliver the children of Israel out of Egypt? 為什麼神把祂的使命從埃及拯救出來? Why did He brought them to Himself? 為什麼祂在祂的面前? Now God said if you will keep my covenant 神說你如果 you will keep my commandment 你如果守我的誡命 then I will make you 你們做我的子民 out of all the peoples you will be my own people 在萬民的當中 你要成為我的子民 and you will be a nation of priests 你們要成為一個祭祀的國度 that is to say the whole nation has the privilege of serving God 換句話說 整個的國家 他們都有權利來服侍 the whole nation will be a testimony to God 整個的國家 他們來自為所成來做見證的 but unfortunately you remember how when Moses went to the mountain to receive the law 但是很可惜的 當摩西到山上領受 接受職業的時候 how at the foot of the mountain they broke God's command 他們在山下 就已經違反了神的誡命 they worshiped a golden cow 他們在那裏拜金牛圖 and because of this the nation of Israel was disqualified so finally you remember Moses he stood because the camp was defiled 因為營已經 he was out of the camp 他就站在營的門口 and he said who is on the Lord's side 在這邊的 and out of the twelve tribes of Israel only the tribe of Levi stood with Moses 十二個字派裏面 只有立位的字派是站在摩西那裏 and Moses commanded them to take the sword and go through the camp from one door to the other 摩西就吩咐他們 拿著刀從營的一邊到另一邊 and whoever they meet just kill them whether it is your brother or whether it is your neighbor 不管是 不管是你的兄弟 或者是你的鄰舍 and you remember that day 3000 will kill 你記得那一天 有三千人就被殺了 and the tribe of Levi was separated 所以神就選了 the tribe of Levi to serve him 所以神就揀選了 立位的字派來服侍他 and out of the tribe one family the family of Aaron to be priest 在立位字派 主就是亞倫的家來做祭祀 all the other children of Israel would not qualify to serve God 所有其他以色列的子民 他們就再沒有資格 來侍奉神了 and yet God opened a back door 然而神好像 and that is the vow of the Nazarite anyone in the tribe of Levi 你可能不是屬於立位字派的 you were disqualified and during that vow it could be a vow of 30 days 這可能是三十天的願 it could be a vow of 60 days 可能是六十天的願 now during the days of the vow 在你許願的這段時間 he was a Nazarite 他是一個拿希爾人 and as a Nazarite 作為一個拿希爾人 there are three things he couldn't do 有三件事他不能夠做 one 第一 he couldn't eat or drink anything that come out 他不能夠吃 no grape vinegar 有濃酒 number two 第二 could come upon his number three 第三 during the days of the vow 在他許願的那段時間 he couldn't approach any dead body father or mother 就是他父母親也是 because if somebody suddenly died by your side 比方說有人忽然在你的旁邊死了 then your the head of the Nazarite was defiled 那拿希爾人 他的頭髮就被玷污了 you have to shave it off 你就要把它剃了 and then later on start all over again 然後重新的再來 now that is the vow he heard the words 換句話說 you know God's desire is everybody will serve him 神的心意乃是 每一個人都是能夠來侍奉他的 but most people have disqualified themselves 但是許多人就把自己 變成不合格了 but God still open a door for those who devote their lives to God out of any tribe 無論是任何的支派 men or women 男的女的 young or old 年長的年少的 they all have that privilege 他們都有這一個的權利 but when you are taking that vow 但是當你許這個願 these three things are strictly forbidden in the Bible 在聖經裡面 you do have a few who are Nazarite Samuel John the Baptist is another one these are Nazarite for life 這一些是一生 That is to say their whole life is devoted to God 換句話說 他們的一生 都是為做神的 now when we try to bring it to this 當我們要把這個 帶到我們今天這個時候 use the New Testament word 就是用新約的話來說 brothers and sisters do you know that you are born that you are second birth is supernatural 你第二個的誕生 乃是超自然的 because God has chosen you for the foundation of the world 這是在創世以前 so that's why this supernatural birth happens 怎麼在你的身上 有這個超自然的誕生 your new birth is for God 你的新生 乃是為了神的 not only for yourself 不是為了自己 it is for God 乃是為了神的 at the same time 同時呢 do you know that you are bought with a price 你知不知道 你是用凍價買來的呢 do you not know that the blood of the God pays his beloved son 要的代價 就是他 兒子的血 來把你買出的呢 by the right of redemption you are born 要做納斯爾人的 in other words 換句話說 you have no right to live for yourself 你自己而活 when you are saved 當你得救的時候 you have been bought with the blood of our Lord Jesus you do not belong to yourself anymore 所以你不再是屬於自己的 you belong to Christ 你乃是屬於基督的 brothers and sisters by the right of redemption 經所救贖的權利 all of us were born again our last rights for life our whole life 都是獻給基督的 we have no right to live for ourselves 我們沒有權利為自己而活 but there is 但是有一個的分別 in the Old Testament time 在舊約的時候 when Samuel was born 當沙漠爾誕生的時候 he was a naturalized for life 他也是一生做納斯爾人的 and thank God 感謝神 he was faithful to that vow of his mother 他是一直的忠心的 就是沒有違背 他母親所許的願 you know there is another man in the Old Testament time 你知道在舊約 還有另外一個人 his name is Samson 他的名字叫安森 he was also born to be a naturalized for life 他也是生下來 要一生做納斯爾人的 but how he was unfaithful 他對他自己所許的願 沒有忠心 you remember how 失去了他的手法 就失去了他的能力 he was unfaithful to that vow 他對他所許的願不忠 so in the New Testament time 所以在新約的時候 brothers and sisters 弟兄姊妹們 please notice this by the right of redemption we are all born and God has every right to claim it from you 神沒有所有的權利 能夠把你佔有 God said you are mine 神說你是我的 you have no right to live for yourself 你沒有權利為自己而活 whether you are willing or not 你願意不願意 you have to serve me 你要不是我 you have to live for me 你要為我而活 God can do that 神可以這樣做 but God will not do it 但是神不會這樣做 God would rather persuade us 神寧願用他的愛 用他的憐憫 來拜服我們 God said 神說 I have bought you 我買出了你 but I let you go free 但是我讓你征服自由 unless you feel constrained by my love 除非你受我的愛激勵 and you want to do what you are bought for 你願意做 你被買出來 所要做的 you know there was a story 你知道有這樣的一個故事 in the old days in America you have slave market 你記得在古時 在美國 他們是有奴隸的寄宿的 and one day there was slave market 有一天 就有這樣的一個 賣奴隸的地方 and a little girl was for sale 有一個小女孩 她就要被賣 and then people began to bid for that girl 當拍賣 拍賣舉行的時候 人就要就在這裡叫叫 you know they bought these girls and bought all these boys to be slaves 這些的小男孩 小女孩就被買來做奴隸 and so of course that girl was weeping 這個小女孩就在那裡哭泣了 but out of his tears her tears 就在她哭的時候 he tried to catch a view of those who auction 他一邊哭 一邊要看那些在叫價的人 and he saw this one and that one 他看見這個 又看見那一個 and all these faces were terrible 這些的臉孔 都是非常的可怕 so he felt she was really hopeless 他就覺得很絕望了 but suddenly a man came in 但是忽然有一個人進來了 and she bid up he bid the highest price 他就叫了最高的價錢 so she got the girl 所以他就買了這個小女孩 the girl didn't dare to look even at that person 這個小女孩就害怕 甚至不敢看他的臉孔 but then after that man bought that girl 但是當這個人 他買了這個小女孩以後 he called for a blacksmith 鞋帳 他就叫了一個鞋帳 and asked the blacksmith to take off the feathers 他就叫這個鞋帳來 把這個小女孩的鎖鏈打開了 and then he told that girl 然後他就告訴那個小女孩 he said I brought you to set you free 他說我買了你 叫你能夠得到自由 you are now free to go 你現在可以自由的走了 and the man began to walk away 這個人他就開始自己走開了 now this came so suddenly 這件事是那樣的突然 so that girl waited for a while 這個小女孩就在那裏 等了一段的時間 and she saw that man was walking away 她就看見這個人開始走了 so suddenly she ran after him 不然她就跑在他後面 he said she said I am willing to be your slave 他說我願意做你的奴隸 brothers and sisters this is what God is doing with you and with me 這就是神在我們身上所做的工作 He has every right to claim you 祂有權要把你來征服 but He will not do it 祂不會這樣做 He set you free 祂叫你能夠自由 that's the reason why you find many who are born again are still living for themselves 這就是為什麼你今天看見許多重生的 他們今天還是為著自己而活 because God will not force your will 因為神不會強迫你的 God honors your will 神是尊重你的意志 He respects your will 祂是尊重你意志的 He wants you to voluntarily present your bodies a living sacrifice 祂要你自願的把你的身體獻上當作佛祭的 You remember Romans chapter 12 你記得羅馬書第十二章 Therefore brethren I beseech you by the mercies of God 所以弟兄們 我以神的慈悲勸你們 將身體獻上當作佛祭 是聖潔的 是神所約納的 你們如此侍奉 乃是理所當然的 這就是我們對神的普靈的侍奉.

Living as Nazarites Set Apart from the World

弟兄姊妹們 神的愛有沒有激勵你呢. He who has died for you 叫你想到 祂是為你責命的 你不能再為自己而活了 你要為那一位 為你死了又活的而活. 弟兄姊妹們 我們都是拿希爾人 但是我們有沒有過 拿希爾人的生活呢. 三件事 是不准的. 第一 不能夠攝取任何葡萄的食物 你記得有一次我們的主耶穌說 我是真葡萄樹 如果祂是真葡萄樹 所有其他的葡萄都是假的. 為什麼拿希爾人 不能夠喝葡萄任何的汁呢.

這些都是代表世界的歡樂 這些是代表眼目的情慾 肉體的情慾和今生的驕傲. 換句話說 作為一個拿希爾人 祂是從世界裏面被分別出來的 祂不容許世界來玷污祂. 不要愛世界 和世界上的事 人若愛世界 愛戶的心就不在他裏面. 弟兄姊妹們 你知不知道你是一個拿希爾人 為什麼你效法這個世界呢. 不要效法這個世界 乃是要心意被更新而變化 要猜驗何謂神承傳十幾月的旨意. 第二 不能夠用剃頭刀剃你的頭. 換句話說 你不要叫自己看起來是好看的 不要想自己.

長頭髮在聖經裏面代表順服代表享福. 不要把自己美化了 在你的肉體裏面沒有一樣是好的 但是我們需要學習向神順服. 第三 不要碰屍體 就是對你最親的. 換句話說 我們的肉體 在神的眼中就好像屍體一樣 因為體切肉體的就是屍體 體切聖靈的就是生命. 你就發現作為一個拿希爾人 我們是從世界被分別出來的. 我們不要美化自己 要把自己抬高了. 相反的我們要扶在主的下面 要主做我們的頭. 我們就要從肉體裏面出來的 讓我們獲得一個生活乃是為所成的.

Samuel’s Faithfulness and God’s Choosing of His Servants
