Perfect Love - Part 1 — Franklin Walden

Jesus’ Blessings and Woes in Luke 6

The sixth chapter of st. Luke. Beginning with the 20th verse. And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples and said Let it be the people for Yours is the kingdom of God. I want you to listen very careful now because we're gonna talk to you for a few minutes here.

Blessings are ye that hunger now for ye shall be filled. Blesses are ye that weep now for ye shall laugh. Blesses are ye when men shall hate you and when they shall separate you from their company and shall and shall report you and cast you out your name as Evil is evil for the Son of Man's sake.

Rejoice ye in that day and leap for joy for behold your Reward is great in heaven for in like manner did they? Their fathers did their fathers unto the prophets. But woe unto you who that are rich for ye have received your consolation.

Woe unto you that are feel for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now for ye shall mourn and we will under you. When all men shall speak well of you for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Loving Enemies and Turning the Other Cheek

But I say unto you which here love your enemies do good to them. Which hate you bless them that curse you and pray for them. Which despitefully use you and I'm the him that Smited be on one cheek offer also the other and him that Take it away that quote forbid not to take that coat also.

I'm talking to you tonight because the Lord wants me to read this to you and if I stumbled you just have to forgive me, I just sometimes I do that, you know and The Lord's wonderful in me praise God. Give to every man that asketh of thee and of him that Take it the way that good ask them not again.

You know, this is something folks if a Christian would do what he says here in just these few verses I've read he'd be pretty fellow with me, but I'm not through yet. You would that men should do to you do you ye also to them likewise?

For if ye love them, which love you. What thing have ye for sinners also love those that love them? I was praying the day concerning the service tonight. And all about a crusades across the nation. I have found the life of a Christian love toward their fellow man.

I haven't found I haven't found that Christian a goppy love. I haven't found that doing good as We ought to be finding it. I haven't found that praying for our enemies. I haven't found that Those that curse us and despitefully users.

I haven't found people turning the other cheek found people that wants to obey God's Word, but I found Christians striking back. I found Christians praying judgment on other Christians and other churches.

Unity, Forgiveness, and the Body of Christ

Rather than praying one for another and as I would pray the Lord brought the whole picture up to me that I can't work as I desire to work in. The midst of a people whose heart is filled with this kind of things of Indian strife and bitterness hate toward their fellow man.

I cannot send my spirit upon someone that is not Been cleansed and separated in and set apart. See. God does not feel a garbage can with his spirit. I begin to read and God begin to draw my attention to it.

I realize now if you're in one church. Usually it used to be it ain't quite that way now. That but that church members will love one another but to get them to love somebody else outside of their church.

You can't do it and they don't even love their enemies. So it's a selfish type love see. But what we need is the agape love. That agape love of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our everlasting love that shall bring us together.

That will we'll do to our fellow man like we want them to treat us. He even tells us a little farther down judge not let you be judged. See. We have come to the place that we are sitting on the judgment seat.

We've moved God off of the mercy seat and put him on the judgment seat in our way of thinking see. But this is not what God's plan is. I feel resentment even the night in this altar call. Because some of you should have been down here praying.

Because other was down your prayer that you didn't believe had any right to down your prayer. You was resenting this thing last night in the prayer line. I felt the same resentment. Because of the way that we have been raised and trained that you've got to be just exactly belong to our group.

This is wrong if you're in the body of the Lord Jesus Christ and been born again washed in his blood and. You know that you've been born again, and you've been baptized into that body. Then we're brothers and sisters and it don't make any difference what he and said on you to have stage.

The New Birth and the Seed of God

We're being in a farm a bit of farm boy raised out in the farm and some of you might think all up still be Out there. Well, I still live out there. But that's all right. Mother used to take and I don't know where you know, what.

Guinea's ears up here not. But she could take a guinea and take a guinea egg and put it under the old Dominica hen. She could take a Duck egg and put it on the hand. She could take them the Rhode Island egg and put it under the old Dominica.

She could take the game egg and put it under the old Dominica, but I want to tell you something when they all hatched. When they all hatched they was whatever kind of egg they was. Now if the seed of God has been planted in the room of your heart.

It will produce what sons of God. And it makes no difference where the seed of God was planted in your heart whether you was out on the pine orchard. Will you in the basement of your house laying up on your bed?

Come on, or whether you was not over on the boat somewhere taking a plane ride around down the road in your car. I Know a man that got saved as a preacher today. He was sitting in the barbershop. He was a traveling salesman and some fella walked in and had him attract while he was sitting in the barbership chair.

He got out stuck it in his shirt pocket going down the road something to take that out and read it he read it. It was a message of salvation to him. He pulled over to the side of the road stopped the car bowed his head and asked God to forgive him of his sins.

Went on and found the church asked him to baptize him and the day he's preaching the gospel. So you see it's not this where you accept God at it's not in this building. Since we've been here and repented of their sins and and what God is doing here.

Then if you want to say well, I got saved it. I think it's the kiddies. Is that what is Katie's that something in here? You say? Well, I've got a kid in religion. And so the only place I can worship God is in the ballroom at the kiddies hotel.

Well, you'd be all mixed up and walked in your mind. See God wants us to have the peace of God in our lives. He wants us to follow up all men. With what all men with what? With peace which without wholeness no man shall see the Lord.

Christian Unity Beyond Denominations

You love the Lord tonight and as I was playing the Lord said I want to do a work. I want to bring a breakthrough but because of the attitudes toward one another and Because they have been trained in many many churches have taught their congregations that if the people are not in our church They're lost.

It's not a building. It's not an organization. It's not an independent group. It's not a man. You're following if Jesus says I'm the way I'm the truth. I'm the life. I'm the door. I'm down. I'm the only guy I'm the beginning.

I'm in and I'm the lilies about it. I'm the son of righteous right where he went in his way. I am there I am do you understand what I'm talking about? And so when we see this thing we can come together.

I was playing the day and I said God what would happen as we see the world Council of Churches be informed as we see This great system that's coming up today. That's bringing people together and we can see the all of this all kinds of systems happening.

What would happen if the full gospel people once could get their minds together and get in the water cord? Like there was on the day of Pentecost and quit trying to be branded with some man's idea of some man system but follow after the Lord Jesus Christ as the Apostles did knowing that they've set us set in their minds and their hearts and had it fixed that they had a Warfare with the devil and that there was out there to destroy the works of the devil and to see the works of God be Done in the face of the enemy that they might know that they were serving a true and a living God.

He's God. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Well, I don't need that. No, I got this known but uh Done forgot about I had the other mic on up here. But anyway, when I begin to read this and saw how God wanted us to live.

How that God wanted us to have the peace and our heart how that God did not come here. You said but brother wall, they're not saved unless they get saved. I would they are not saved unless they get saved his way not your way his way.

You said but brother only got to be saved my way. No, they gotta be saved his way and Jesus said I am the way I'm the truth and I'm the life and there is more. The name given on the heaven and earth will buy me and might be saved all powers in his name.

Amen, do you love the Lord? And so he says now if you just love those that love you, you'll know better often the sinners the sinners love them that love Them, you know what I mean? If you just give to them that give to you that's not it.

He said when a man asked you for something give it to him. Don't expect it back. He slapped you on one side turn turn the other cheek somebody said don't say what do that? Yes, it does. He said if your brother forgive your brother seven times seventy four hundred and ninety times a day.

And you figure that up how often you'd have to forgive. I think the church needs to join the 490 club. Don't you? Hallelujah forgive your brother seventy times seven. Every day we need to get a club going there where we can turn the other cheek where we can love our brothers where we Can live in peace where we can see the Holy Ghost come down.

It's a shame. It's a disgrace to have people in fear with the Holy Ghost they said on this side and on that side and in the back and in the front and they can't worship God together and supposed to have the same spirit supposed to love the same Lord supposed to believe in the same God and supposed to have got Saved in the same like manner and still we cannot worship God together.

Because we don't love one another because the devil has built up walls of petitions between us. And these have got to be broken down and they will be broken down but the outpouring of the Holy Ghost if God has to allow judgment under we can come together and behold the Lamb of God that Taketh away the sins of the world and everybody's eyes be fastened up on him.

Finding Victory in God’s Love, Peace, and Joy

We see Jesus When we see Jesus. When we see Jesus. Rather than the works of the flesh when we build our hopes upon him rather than in some system of man. When we follow him rather than a and then the flesh when we worship God in spirit and in truth.

Rather than just going through a mechanical motion or something in church. The same old thing over and over the same old prayer every day the same Prophecy coming forth every week you come in and the same little same tongues.

You speak all the time and the same little shaking jig you do ever every time you go to church. And this is all you get out of being born again and a Christian. There's something wrong with your Christian Experience brother.

There's hope there's life. There's peace. There's joy. There's health. There's everything that a man needs in our generation if we have only taken and live like the Bible says. Do you love the Lord tonight?

Well, I know that I'm talked about. I know that people don't accept the way that I do. But I'll tell you what I'll tell you what folks I'll tell you one thing a man come and said listen. So I want you to know that said Franklin Walden said ain't nothing to that fella and He asked him.

I asked him I one day. I said how many people have you seen born again this year? How many people have you seen feel the altars up? How many council have you seen smitten how many crippled legs how many blinded eyes how many deaf ears have you seen unstopped?

I don't think any man ought to judge another man until he's done at least as much as that man is done. Hey, man, I don't think any preacher ought to judge another preacher. Under he has done as much as that preachers done for the Lord.

I don't think you should even think about it under you come up to where he has and when in souls a Man came to me in Toronto Canada, and he said brother Walden. I want to give you some pointers. I want to show you how your ministry could expand.

I want to show you how you could reach more souls and do more for God. Now listen to him. Now I admired the man for what he was saying and I and I'm I'm a good listener when somebody says they've got something from The Lord for me.

I listen to him and I won't raise up against it and So he kept talking to him and after a while, he had a perfect plan set up for me. And I looked at him. I said sir You pastor the church here you pastor church in Toronto.

Yeah, I've been here 25 years. I think it was something like that I said what size of a congregation do you have and how many people have you got saved? In the last past five years. He said well brother Walden said I'll be honest with you said I don't have a large Congregation said I've got the same ones.

I've just about started with we run about 25 to 35 in church every week and said. But we're praying that God will send our church a revival and he'll show us what to do to get him out. See here. I am a man trying to tell me how to win souls when he hadn't won souls himself.

He's trying to tell me what to do. I want somebody if they're going to give me some advice. I want somebody to give me some advice that has been a success in doing something from God. I want somebody that's been a success whatever they're doing.

I don't want anybody to come tell me anything unless they've been a success. I know that Jesus was the success and our example that we should follow and I know that he taught his disciples right and if he said for us to love one another and By this the world would know that we were his disciples and that we was to follow him that we was not to backbite.

We was not to criticize that we was not to come down and put our foot on a brother's neck. But we was not to say that we love God when we don't even love the man that we'd walk beside of it work on. The job I live neighborly to because of some kind of doctrinal barriers we got.

I know that maybe you don't like this kind of night, but I'm gonna give it to you. Cause the Lord told me to do it. It's time to come back and let that spirit of love that our coffee love God is love.

God is a spirit and when you've got God's spirit You're gonna have that God be loved and that's gonna cause you to have a hunger and a desire to fellowship with God's people. And brother when we do that We're gonna see the power of God in the midst of us that breaks the yoke that makes us one all of our eyes.

That turn upon the Lamb of God and our sins will be forgiven us. Do you love the Lord tonight? And I praise God tonight. I want to tell you this Last year when I was out in Prince Edward Island, and we was over there I had a dream a vision rather and I was back home and I was there in my mother's in the in the living room where mother was.

I mugged my mother's house and The family was gathered together now my dad has gone on to be with Jesus and I love my dad. He was a great man of God, but he's gone on to be with Jesus and I will we were standing there and we were just fellowshipping and the door came open the front door and It seemed like there was some being came through the door and went into the room where my sister was staying at at that time, that's her room back home and So everybody had a fear to come upon.

And I said, well, I'll go over. They always looked me to make the first step in hell. And I I go over and I went in and a look and dad was there. And I saw my dad and I was so amazed. I looked at him.

He smiled. He spoke and he spoke to mother and You didn't think I'm crazy if you want to but that's all right. I did. I saw it in a vision. Amen, and so he took mother and he went out and they were out in the yard and I was just following him.

I was looking at him here. He was he was 73 years old when he died and now he looks like he's about 33 years old. Perfect help. Not one thing not know where is a nothing free from everything and I was.

I looked at him. I said dad. I was so amazed at his body. He had such a perfect body and I said dad I said what will it take and what is it going to take? To have an obtain a body like you got. And he looked up at me turned his head kind of like that and he said son.

This only comes through perfect love. This only comes through perfect love. The only kind of perfect love there is is that a copy love? That's God's love. We are perfected with his love. Do you understand what I'm talking about?

There's a filial love and that is the that's the kind of love that a man has For his wife or the hood and a wife has for their husband. It is a it is a God-given love that he's given but it's a filial love.

It's not on a copy love. You can have a man and a wife here and that man and that woman can love each other. He can buy her roses every Saturday and she can bake him goodies and everything and beer have everything fine for him and take his Shoes off of his feet and tell him how much he loves him and he can tell her the same thing and they can live In happiness, but you let one of them die and they can die and bury them and in a year's time.

They found somebody else they can love just as much as they love that companion. But God's love is not that way. God's love is the everlasting the everlasting. God is an eternal love. See and he loved us with that kind of a love.

And so when we love our brothers that we're willing to lay down our life for our brothers. Like he was willing to lay down his life for us. That we'll defend our brother with the Word of God that we'll stand together and love one another.

We'll see the Holy Spirit come in the midst of us and we won't have this one-sided in selfish love. That we can only love those that is in the four walls of our building. We can only love those you said but they don't come to our church.

Bible said love your enemy if they're your enemy. You still gotta love him. He said do good for him. Don't talk about him. Don't run him down. Don't ridicule him. He said do good to him. That's what he said read it if you don't like what Jesus said tell him but I'm just telling you what he said.

See and so we have got the attitude today. If we don't have the same fellowship card if we don't belong to the same brand of religion. If we don't do that that we're lost with doom. We're down with devil's child and everything else.

But if you're born again of the Spirit now if you're not born again of the Spirit, that's a different thing. But if you're born again of the Spirit the Spirit is in you. He'll lead you into all truth.

If you'll be willing to let him lead you. You may be in something over here that God does not approve of but if you're willing to be led by the Spirit of God God will lead you out of that from glory to glory to heights to heights.

Do you understand what I'm talking about? Oh, don't you love him tonight? Friends I'll tell you there's nothing like the love of God. There's nothing like having the peace of God. There's nothing like it.

There's nothing like it. I don't know whether the young lady is here tonight or not. She may be here and I wouldn't. I wouldn't. Bring her out and and and say anything to if she wants. I don't know. I can't tell him the congregation.

But today brother that never left me today if we were sitting brother post and I talking in this place and and I Look the Holy Spirit draw my attention to a young lady sitting there in a booth. I just don't do that.

I just don't do things like that. But that's the post can tell you. That it would had to be a God. Leading to do a thing like that a woman sitting there with problems after problems after problems after problems.

And the Lord said you go over there and tell her about me and about my love. And I went and shared with her the love of God. Now, I don't know how God's gonna lead her. I don't know where God will lead her.

But I know one thing when you make up your mind to follow Jesus He'll make a way where there seemeth to be no way he said he would. And I know one thing if we don't get this selfishness out of our hearts, and if we don't get this thing man Indoctrinated way of doing things and not following after God we're gonna wind up on the other side of the fence with yours.

We're standing here. Amen. There is a way that seemeth right on the man, but the end thereof is what? As a ways of death, we don't want to abide in death and that's what the church is doing today. They're biting in death.

We need a spiritual resurrection in the midst of us. We need to quit holding grudges in our hearts. We need to quit going slaying at one another. We need to quit running one another down. We need to quit trying to justify ourselves with what somebody else is doing wrong or something.

We got need to come back to the Word of God. About the Word of God study the Word of God abide in the Word of God. Knowing that God in his word is one in the same and if we're in the word and the word is in us.

Then we can move in and do the things that God would have us to do. But as long as we hold an oath against our brother, yeah, our prayers is not even heard. He said if we don't forgive one another then our Heavenly Father will not forgive us.

I don't care if you've got hate in your heart if you've got bitterness in your heart. You've got envy in your heart. You hate somebody you don't like somebody if you talk about somebody and you will not forgive that person.

You can pray that you turn blue in the face and your prayers won't get any further than the top of the house. He said if you remember your brother has an altar against you. Go to that brother. Did not he say it go to that brother?

And tell that brother and when that brother comes if he will not hear to you go back and get some more and go with. But you know what the church does today. You let somebody get something against the brother find out a fault against another brother or somebody.

You know what? They'll do the first thing to do that. Tell everybody else before they go to the brother. They tell everybody else before they get that you say brother. I don't like this kind of preaching.

Well, that's all right. What do you like it or not? The Lord has spoke to my heart this afternoon to do this. You say but I can't accept that. I can't help what you accepted or not. There's goats and ever ever pasture and the tires and ever feel and they just can't accept the truth.

They won't have the truth. Although God is loving and he's just and he's long-suffering and he's kind to the evildoers. The Bible says he is and he's kind to go unthankful. Those are not thankful. He's still kind to him.

Confession, Repentance, and Spiritual Healing

But see we got these things folks but the people that are after God's own heart like the psalmist David was. Those that are worn and walking fellowship and want a great anointing upon their lives and want to have peace with God and want the blessings of God in their life.

They're gonna have a desire to obey God's Word and follow after him in his holiness. And they're gonna desire to do everything he said and the full feel his command. He said I've got the Holy Ghost. All right.

Let me ask you a question. Just recently there was a group of people that had the baptism of the Holy Ghost. They all spoke in tongues and all of them was baptized the same way down in the States but there was a problem arose and They had a meeting and did you know?

They come out wanting to hit fight hadn't have been for me. They'd have had a fistfight elders and talking tongues. This is this is far away from God's plan for the church and he's coming back after God's not in anything like that folks God's not in anything like that.

And I feel a little resentment me talking like this because some of you feel with that kind of an attitude. Some of you've got that in your mind. You said well, I won't come back. I can't help what do you ever come back or not?

There's one thing about it when God lays something on my heart and I tell you like it is that's off of my chest. I've got a stand before God for every message that I don't preach that he tells me to preach and I've got a stand before God forever message I do preach.

And so when I tell you these things and you don't abide in them like a lady come up to me up in them fun debate and she came to me and she said I prayed for nothing happened and so She come back the next night.

I went to pray for nothing happened and She started to walk up. I said wait a minute. Wait a minute. Have you got something in your heart toward anybody and have you ever been mixed up in witchcraft? No.

No way she said no way the next night she karma I prayed for and nothing happened. So the meeting was coming to a close and she come to me and she said brother Walden said you asked me if I had Any messed up in any witchcraft that I said I got to praying about that thing and thing about that.

Thanks that well said I do read tea leaves. And I do read the cups and I do do these things and I said I told you that you've got to get that out. That's fortune-telling. You can't fool with that kind of stuff.

You don't read cards and tea leaves and all these kind of things and tea cups ever how you do it up here in Canada. I don't know how you do it. You can't do that. You don't run to fortune-tellers to find out what the future is gonna be.

You don't have to have a horoscope to find out where you're gonna make it through the day or not and some of the Pentecostal folks today have they have to have their pet poodle to bring the paper to the past out of their bed before they get out.

So then read their horoscope to know where they can make it through the day or not. Or whether they ought to get out of bed or stay in the bed all day. And all these kind of things and then they wonder why they're in a mess there.

You've received a spirit. That's not of God. Do you understand what I'm talking about? And so I prayed for and she still didn't get right. And so she followed us on out into Calgary and one day she come to me and said I don't understand what it is.

I said I'll tell you what it is and God revealed it to me 20 years. She had left her husband. She had done him wrong. She wouldn't get a divorce from him because she wanted his estate in tongues. Some of you ain't liking this and I can feel it but bless God.

I've got God on my side. Run around to every church and so discord that they could. She looked at me and said, what do you want me to do? I said you get down and write a letter to your husband hadn't all she done made him pay up for 20 years.

Alimony for 20 years he paid her and she's waiting for him to die. So he could get everything he had. Now I said you couldn't have the love of God in your heart. You go back and be reconciled with that man.

You go back and do something and you get that thing you write him a letter. And I said if you will God will forgive you and God will come on the scene. She said well, all right, she left. I Got the Vancouver.

She wrote a letter and said brother Walden if you'll write a letter to my husband I'll mail it and sign my name to it. I've never answered it what happened to her, but she's headed down a bad road. I Don't know what the bitter end of her way of living will bring to her.

But I know one thing that it's not going to be a happy ending. On do we come together that we can love? Those that don't love us. When we can come together than love those that don't love us. Then we're moving in the realm that when we can say like Jesus did when he was there father.

Overcoming Bitterness and Hatred

Forgive them for they know not what they do when we can have the same love of God in our hearts as Stevens did while they were stoning them to death. A Great big man came up on the platform in the same meeting there in Thunder Bay and he said To me he said now.

He said yes, you notice that I can't get a breakthrough. I said yes, and there's something wrong. You've got something in your heart towards somebody. He said I've got a right to have something in my heart towards somebody.

I said what happened? He said a man stole my wife and my children. And said I hate him. I want to kill him. Claim to have the Holy Ghost. Now you listen to me folks. He said and I've got a right to do it to that man.

I said you have no such a thing. You don't want to send that man sold to hell you want him saved. You don't want your children to be raised up in that atmosphere. You don't want to kill your wife. If you want to kill your wife, you don't love her like you say you love her.

Amen, I Said you will never have a breakthrough in God until you learn to love those. It's not lovable. Do you understand? You'll never be able to do it and it's hard sometimes. Man alive, you know, I've been down the road.

I know what I'm talking about. I used to have a man that makes me. He'd do everything he could and it looked like I'd run from him and shun him. But you know, I never got victory over that thing. I started learning to love that man.

In the Lord. Showing him kindness and doing good unto him and then I got victory over that thing. I know what I'm talking about. Until we follow after God according to his word. You can have all the church entity you want to but when you stand before God, it won't be counted as Christianity.

You'll be judged for it. See you understand what I mean? We didn't want to get out of this jail. We're in the stage is set. The curtain is fixed to be drawn. The Antichrist is going to make his last play for the church and the very left to be deceived if possible and until we come to the place that we can abide in God's love and Have the right attitude toward our fellow man and God.

Boy, you're quiet tonight. You said but brother Walton I despise that person you need to get something from God. Amen, you need to get something from God. You need to get something from God. I know two brothers in the States.

Two brothers flesh brothers and both of the ministers and they hate each other with a passion. One day one of them was riding down the road Road in his car and having to see his other brother on the sidewalk and tried to run over him.

And both of them got large churches in two large cities in the States one in Florida one in Georgia. Now you hear this. I Don't care if they stand on their head and talk in tongues. I don't care if they prophesy.
