Romans 10 and the Message of Salvation

Of the Lord's love of His Lordship, and there are chapters in any book, and there are versions on verses running to the end of the 13th edition of the Bible. So we have 13 verses on chapter 10, and in this portion of the edition we have many verses that have become famous just recently.

With great evangelists all over the world, we have found yet even very few verses in the portion of the edition. Why, even the children in the Sunday school are saying about Romans 10 and 9 these days.

Romans 10 and 9 are a favorite verse of mine. It's one of the good ones, isn't it? And of course, the whole, complete story of it, the glory of God's hope, is in verse 10, isn't it? For with the half-mind of evil abounds the righteousness, and with the half-confession of the Lord's love of His Lordship, and with the half-confession of the Lord's love of of the Lord is made unto salvation.

Isn't that amazing? Hundreds and thousands to the Lord, who are on their way to heaven this evening, to pursue. But it's one peculiar statement of the way of salvation in the Holy Bible, one that I'm concerned for whosoever recalls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

So get on to that, certainly. He expressed thirteen verses to these names. You remember that just at the end is the part of this section that we entitled a week or so ago, Paul's explanation of God's dealings with Israel.

The Structure of Romans: Condemnation, Justification, and Sanctification

You see, for any newcomer to the class, I hooked up this great letter to the Romans in the text room. And in the first three chapters, we had a section on these rules over it, the condemnation over them was brought.

And then in the next section, after chapter three and four and then chapter five, the justification of the evils, because it was said that the great doctrine of justification by faith alone is really at play.

And then in chapters six and seven and eight, we have the great section, the sanctification of faith. Yes, because those who are brought out of the place of condemnation into a place of justification, God expects them to live godly in this present evil world.

And we have the sanctification of belief. And then in the first chapter nine and all through chapter ten and right through chapter eleven, this is a parenthesical portion of the book where Paul is extremely...

Paul's explanation of God's dealings with Israel. And the book will end with an exculpation to all the followers of the Lamb. So this is an explanation. But remember that when we're in chapter ten this evening, it's a part of this great explanation of God's dealings at the present time with Israel.

I have entitled this portion of these three brief 13 verses, I have entitled it to three sections, these first three verses. We have clemency of truth. Now in the tenet of this passage this evening, we have Paul's persuasion of God's message.

And then we have Paul's proclamation of Moses' message. And then the third chapter comes right at the end. And then we have Paul's preaching of faith poverty. This is very important for us. And then we have Paul's promise of change in heaven.

And so that you can see the sections before you, and I think that's enough time. But we don't even know that. We've only given you the structure. And then we must put the detail of the meat, farm meat material.

So that we'll begin the chapter in the same fashion. And we're thinking first of all of Paul's prayer for Israel's salvation. This is the first word of this chapter, brethren. You know, Paul always likes to remind himself that he's really writing to saints.

And this is something that I've noted just recently in many of the writings of Paul. Even when he writes the letter to the Corinthians, because many of the Corinthians were preaching evil things behind his back.

Evil, questioning his apostleship. Yet again and again through the letter he says, brethren, my brethren, my beloved brethren, don't forget, my brothers and my sisters, that whether you're dealing with me in justification or truthfully, whether you're dealing from right up in the Lord, if you've come to the cross and respected the Christ, and you've walked in the blood of the Lamb which he's made, let me call you brethren, we're brethren.

Let's get through this. I'll see you get through this. And that is not what Paul sees in some of the books. He writes so deep. No picture is very lovely. He does say something that's neat. He says, brethren, my brothers and sisters, you youngest students, I'll tell you something.

They saw that the exodus of the apostles, that's the line that Paul would say, and right through to the end of the letter to the Hebrews, I believe Paul tells Hebrews, of course, and you'll find that in these sixteen letters of Paul and this wonderful letter of the exodus of the apostles, you'll find a tremendous process to the thought of the great apostles.

Remember what I said to you when we started this section, I'm going to go back to chapter nine, and then I'll say two points. First, just for a moment, remember how it's written, I say this was in Colossians.

I don't know. My conscience holds some heavy witness in the Holy Ghost. I have great heaviness. I'm coming to you. Now, if you want me to start you off, I'll start you off like this. You notice that he has great heaviness in his heart.

For his king's men are calling. Yes, God comes down to raise the nation. Praise. Remember how I came to teach him. I'm just praying for everyone. There are people in this kitchen tonight. We have a very dear old lady in this meeting some years ago.

The way I hang her. Her name was Mrs. McCormack. But many times she heard my mother. She said, I don't think he's saying that anymore. She's come and prayed for me. I get up early in the morning. My wish that the nation would hear.

My wish for God is this, that this would end with Rome. And now I've got the call. I'll tell you more young people. That second birth of Captain Aidan. In my heart. He was the first to carry his message to my mother.

The doctors and fellows are in a hospital line. Treating him on the other side. This is the fifth to carry a message to my father. And to the end of it. I hope it all will end. Some of it will happen very soon.

Very well. You can see the toll. At the poison gas and the broken glass. And we are at death's hands tonight. And you can see his brethren. And my heart is filled. He's got a begging heart. Who will stop me off Monday?

I can pull the rest of the time talking about Paul's hospital. It's a young fellow. He laughs at that I'm starting off. I can take you back to chapter five of Romans. And he says, the love of God is never brought in.

He says, you're never on your knees. And talk of what lawlessness. And sanctification. But you'll ruin the faith. But if you're never on your knees. And I don't believe the word of God. I don't believe it.

And the God of all. Yes. Ah, yes. He's got this. And it's starting you off. He's a person. A broken glass. He has a faith. He has a presence of God. God will shed and draw him to the Holy Ghost. He says, Jesus.

I'm only asking you. That's what I need. But look. He says, my heart desires. You know, that was in your love. And it was emotion. You know, he was. My heart is. Oh, that we have desires in our hearts.

Oh, that's how we end them. Oh, that we have. Yes. He says, my heart desires. Oh, the prayer and after, didn't it? And that was supplicational. You know what I believe? I believe that as we ask the Holy Ghost to serve continually.

The new power acts to keep us up all means. I thought you were able to. I want to know you. There was a burning desire inside. Because it's out of the abundance of the chest. That the mouth speaks. And if your mouth can burn me off, it's out of love for God.

Now, I want you to get this. We have driven him. And that's the thing, isn't it, that he's talking about? My heart's desire in prayer to God for Israel is. You know, some of my brethren who are arguing with me about this supplicational truth.

Israel's Religion and the Righteousness of God

Try to teach me, but have never been able to really get this over. Try to tell me that every place that Israel's mentioned in the New Testament, it means the church, shall we? We'll have a look at it.

You can take this and bring it. I believe. I'm sure you will. You're struck, you know, if you don't get in. You have the sense to back down. You'll be all right. Some of you are out begging it, you know.

You couldn't knock anything into it. There's no use in fighting it. Because the body that comes behind it, you know, it's not the church. What's this? For I bear them record that they have a seal of God, but not according to knowledge.

For they be in the insurance of God's righteousness. You behave as such, if it means of God's expertise. Now, don't let me talk a whole lot of talk that's not necessary. Among the Father and I can see that this is not the church.

This is Israel according to the facts. There's passage in the passage, in the action, where the Father calls it plainly. God believed with faith. I just can't agree with you about the lack of faith. So you can see that there was this inward emotional desire that went outward, an intersectional prayer to God for the outward mission of Israel.

And you know, he just prayed. He prayed out that night. That doesn't make good faith. No, no, no. We want it. We try to get it. We don't. It's silly. You shouldn't have a faith that all of these people will give faith.

Well, as they called the day of the fall of Rome, it's got to have been. We haven't got to give faith. Don't let some of these fellows walk in their mind that there's going to be a little destruction.

Just be careful now. Always go along the lines of believing in God, and you're not going to end up in the field. Now, that's not due for this first part, for the prayer for Israel's salvation. Remember how we got this picture of Israel's religion?

And we need to look at this very carefully. Paul says, for I bear down that cross. And if you don't know about this, it was there that Paul, like Paul, about this, you know, to King Nehemiah, the king of Antichrist religion.

He says, I bear down that cross. I have called this the golden death of the Jews. Remember when Paul was giving his testimony in Galatians? Have a look at it. Galatians, chapter 1. This is something you should mark in your mind, how he gives his testimony in his heart.

Something you'll need someday when you're talking to some of these religious fellows who have trouble solving. Galatians, chapter 1, and verse 15. Paul says, for you've heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion.

Or, beyond measure, I've had to shoot at the church of God, which is unprofitable in the Jews' religion. I've called many of my meetings within my nomination, I like this one. Being more exceedingly jealous of the traditions of my home.

And that's what he's saying here. He's saying, well, I bear it in my heart that they haven't defeated me yet. You know, there's always this thing in Galatians. And you know, there's never an old text about it.

Even when the passage is such as, stop there, I'm talking to you. That's what you've got. You've got zealousness for the church of God. The people do not relate to you. You've got the heralds of God. Paul has got that reported in Christ.

The empty, dead, lifeless religion, and it will take you ahead. So be it then. All you've got is a mask and a plate and a pot. And you'll go to hell if I shall not touch you. And that zealousness of the Jews, so appealing, that it always turns after second birth.

I can't imagine that they have a being of God that's not devolving to non-Jews. But they be of God's righteousness. And you say there are ignorant of God's righteousness? It's a bit of a move. But there are ignorant of God's non-righteousness.

They thought that they were ignorant. And so I'm calling that the drastiness of the Jews. It says, our righteousness, that's the unrighteousness of the Jews. Then he raises it to the top. And it says, answer the righteousness of God.

And I want to give you hope that every person in this meeting today becomes determined to live. You can have our religion and get put to hell. It was a religion which called life. And it's the opposite.

Animals and hens crow and put to hell. I'm going to teach you now what the book of Revelation is all about. And you'll find out before you ever left me. Because I'm just teaching the book of the common law.

I just lived in a place where I teach these books. And I'm not worried about your child or I'm not feeding you a pie. I'm just a Bible teacher. And that suits me well as a judge. I'm just teaching the common law.

Christ as the End of the Law

Now watch this. We have got here Paul's prayer for Israel's salvation. And we've got Paul's picture of Israel's religion. And as the eagles do flee, then they come to another group. Now here's Paul's persuasion of God.

He says in verse 4, For Christ is the end of the law. For Christ is the end of every one of them. But Paul was persuasive about Christ. You see, Paul finds this to be true. It's not part of the teaching of religion to me.

Nor it's not part of the teaching of religion to me. I'm going to need to get this over to the people all the time. Dear, if you haven't brought Christ to this and make him out of the book, you're done.

You're on your way to hell. And you can only get the whole message. For Christ is the end of the law. For righteousness to every one that believes. Let me find the verse. He says, for... And that's the very point of that isn't it?

He's not beating about the bush here. He's just coming out and saying it. That's the very point of it. And then this is what he says, For Christ is the end of the law. That's Paul's preaching. You know, sir, you would say, San Antonio, thank you for pointing to me.

It's not even the technical answers that we arrange. Very pointed, and it's very powerful. But I want you to watch this. Christ is the end of the law. For righteousness. That's the very practice, isn't it?

When I'm God, I stand in the righteousness of God. That's all I need. We were taught that when we were young, back at four and five. But I want you to get this. For Christ, that's very pointed. It's the end of the law.

That's very powerful. For righteousness, that's very precious. To every one that believes in that very statement. There's a message. You can't mistake that message. There's no... Nothing is to be taken.

Christ is the end of the law. For righteousness. To every one that believes. It doesn't matter where you're past the 11th or 10th. It's your faith that counts. Then you stand in the righteousness of God, and you don't need to watch the law.

Faith leads to the law. So that's Paul's portrayal of God's message. Now he is called... Very popular, isn't he? To Moses. And this title, the righteousness which is of the law. That the man may he shall revive it.

The Law’s Condemnation and the Righteousness of Faith

And let's try to explain that. He says this is the righteousness which is of the law. That the man... That's very plain again, isn't it? Which does end. That's very pointed. That's all. Did you know that?

You're condemned. Every one of you is condemned. I was not one of those people. We signed the condemnation on 11th. Thou shalt not covet. Thou shalt not bear false witness. Thou shalt not remember the lady on the ship that tackled W .T. Nicholson.

She had a big heart, man, when she tackled him. And she said to him, I don't like your picture. And he just thinks the paper's all the same. He says, dear, I'm curious of it. I don't know who you are.

I shouldn't have said you. I shouldn't have. Is that how it is? Did he ever say anything that wasn't just exactly the truth? He just made a week ago a week ago this summer. Did he ever say anything? I don't recall.

I have not read it. Well, he says you're a liar. Did he ever say anything that wasn't just the truth? Did he ever say anything that wasn't the truth? I didn't. I should say I'm a liar. Well, he says you're a fool, you're a fool.

And when he has failed to prove that anything's wrong, he says you've been lying to him. We need a change. We need a change. We need a change. Put away these messages today. The message that God and the message that the Lord demand.

And I will stop until we get out of this from the perfection of your faith. Now for all the young people you know that this is very important. And of course it's important for everyone to prove. But what version, he says,.

But the righteousness which is of faith, and you can see he calls out the righteousness of faith and goes by the righteousnesses of the law, which no one ever obtained. So he says, but the righteousness which is of faith, because all this time it's the righteousness that we get by faith.

He really speaks to us before we get it. This is what he would say to us. Speaketh on this law. You know, there's a coming of a whisper in your heart. There's a whisper to you. He says, say not in my mouth, whom shall ascend into heaven.

That is, the faith that's found in God. You know, the righteousness which is of our faith, we come here to you before you today and to say now, don't think that the faith you have found in God will make a tremendous journey to heaven.

Could we explain the volition of the faith and then speak again, wouldn't we? Or who shall descend into the deep? That is, to bring up Christ again from the dead. You know, the righteousness which is of God by faith would say to you, now don't get worried.

Don't get betrayed. Now, if you say this, this is what he would say. What has been present? What is it? The Word is my being. When I change this a little bit, I think you'll get the feeling. But what isn't, the message, is my name.

In my mouth and in my heart. Now, let me go down the chapter a little bit and still address from next week, as God will, verse 17. You see, it comes to this conclusion. I told it. The faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the message of God.

The Word of God is the message of God. Now, you know, I've got a lot to do, and with people who are just about to enter into faith and exercise in faith in Christ. I have spent many days with souls on the alternating table, and they're just about to exercise faith.

And I need to know what I'm going to do. Because I believe there's a tremendous amount of people here, and it would be much better had it been there for them. But let's get on with it. Let us stay in faith.

If that which Christ will get corrected through the docs, the docts will track the true test. But when Jesus was in Jerusalem on this day, many believed on Him. And the next day says, Jesus did not suffer on basis of faith.

Not at all. Absolutely, at the other end. The cold, the hot, the pain in the knees. It's called faith in Jesus. Now, this isn't clear, that this is the way the docts try to get us to righteousness and God.

It comes by hearing. Yes, it does. If you feel all that, it might happen to you, and you'll feel all the points in one way. Faith in Jesus. Faith in Jesus. Faith not by fear of God. Faith in His well-being.

Faith. Now, let's get it. Let's get it. See if you've got it. You've got it? Say what? Where is the message of God? And you know what will come to you on the street? That's Jesus. And maybe the words in your heart will help you.

How are you? You know exactly what I'm looking for now. My story is not in your heart. It's in your head. That's all it is. Well, it's a little bit crazy now. It's a little bit crazy now. He says in Galatians, this is God that will speak.

It will tell you, don't do this. Don't try to run away and battle. Reduce the violence of the dead. It will tell you the words in your heart now. That is the message of faith which we preach. And here it says, it's bringing an open field to us.

Faith Comes by Hearing the Word of God

God... Let me go over this again. This is from all common sense to me. This is the message that we preach. Now watch this. First of all, I'm asking you for words of your religion. That's the way it should be.

That's definitely the way it should be. Why not? Now, you've got this. You see, my compassion for my friends. I confess to my... My being... The Lord came from heaven for me. He couldn't shake me up. I just believe that when the angels and saints contributed, they informed the city of David of the faith in which is Christ.

The Lord... The Lord... Of Jordan... Came from heaven. So that's the way it should be. You don't have to worry about it. It may be heavier than you think. I believe. You can believe it. You can hold me if you like, but I'll still believe.

We don't need more than that. I believe. That's my confession. I confess to Jesus Christ. The Lord came from heaven for me. I confess to Jesus Christ. The Lord... The Lord shall be praised. The Lord shall be praised.

We take the cup and we take the bread. And we do this... In remembrance of him. And the cost of the deepest debt of the deepest heart. We do so... The Lord... The Lord... The Lord... The Lord... The Lord...

The Lord... The Lord... For me... And that he died as a cross. The day he died, he was on the cross. But I believe, in the very depth of my heart, that I'll only confess that to the Lord. But I believe in my heart, that God raised Him from the dead to be my own living property.

I ask. And you're not saved after that, there's a few dances, aren't there? My next confession is this. I confess with my heart. That the Lord came from heaven to Bethlehem to be my Savior. That the Lord died on a cloning bed and died being a Catholic to be my Savior.

And that on the third day God raised Him from the dead. And I've got a living Savior to remember. I'm in peace with my mom and I believe in the Lord. And I've got a living Savior to remember. And I've got a living Savior to remember.

And I've got a living Savior to remember. I cannot believe that God raised Him from the dead to be my Savior. And I've got a living Savior to remember. And I've got a living Savior to remember. I'll tell you that good gospel preached by Jesus.

The good gospel preached by Jesus. And all the religious people have to say, Jesus Christ, thank you for the gospel. Jesus Christ, thank you for the gospel. And then, that's the word of God, and that's just there on the page.

Anyone can read that for yourself. Now, that's called teaching a faith doctrine. And then he comes to an end on his life because he says in Matthew 11, a solemn scripture says, For the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.

The Universal Call to Salvation

And there's exact terms about this verse that I love. For whosoever speaketh the word of the Lord shall have it. For my sake there will be an immensity of this word. You know there's no good in that, don't you?

You can start talking to me about election. Multi-destination. Multi-terminal choice. Because I'm still struggling with 11. You are included here. My sake there will be an immensity of this. The immensity of this.

It's a great... Watch this. Whosoever shall take my... Think of the simplicity of that. You think the immensity of the word of the Lord will be... The immensity of that. You know, you just call. You know, there are lines going down the third time in the world.

You don't need to cook them on the fire. You don't need to whip her in his hair. You don't need to squeeze his eyes. You don't need to weep or tell him stories. You can just call. It's as simple as that.

That's how you make a change. You call. You are punishing the spirit. Calling on the woman what you think. You see the immensity of the word. You can see the simplicity of the act. Can't you? You see this one.

Whosoever shall call upon the name of... There's a patience in the frightened demon. They know the law. And they're getting... In the wilderness, there lies a beast who lives in the destruction. He lives at all.

By the name of... He takes God on the cross. He takes matters as it can matter. He is the law. For the times, he sets law. Come and listen. He makes a record. Now, he's gone up through the chalice. And through the graves of millions of angels.

And he's sitting on the throne of the right hand of God. God gives him a name that's above every name. And that's the name of Jesus. Let me burn every number of letters to you. You know, this is why you can sing.

You realize that you're poor and lost. Thinking, sinner, doing, perfect. That came from the height of the cross. But God raised him from the dead. And there's no... It's a living, ancient name. And who?

God. God willed it. God blessed it. There will be a house. You shall have all their names in it. So call them. All the sufficient names. On the Lord, all the sufficient names. Devil. Dishonor. Sin of God.

And through the hair of others. For the hair only. You'll be in hell. And in the name of God, the Lord said to me, with the weight I have on your head, I could have stretched out my arms the same. And I could have embraced the same.

And God promised me again, I'd be saved. I was almost saved. You know, that's exactly where I lost my heart. I was almost saved. Oh, this is damned. Damned. You know, there's an old saying, that not by work but by deed, is God saved.

If, and here's the thing, if, if, if God brought the message to your heart, you won't take one. You're far away from the King of the Nation. This right can only be lost. You'll only realize that you've come, you've come to the end of the road.

You took the stage for that. And by this man did I lost many of my brothers. They were gone a long time. This is a bit of talk. You were, you were the burden of the arms now. But that's not all, not yet.

The Final Appeal to Believe in Christ

We could continue this age of sorrow for as long as there's our days. Do you really think this place is enough? There's all the people that are saved. They're all saved from this perishable man. Yes, you're so.

The greatest, holiest, of them all came to that very day. Try to prove it where you can be. In case, that is the sanctified statement. And you know, the message of God's grace to prove it is in your heart.

You will believe tonight. You'll call out of that heart of faith and say, Lord Jesus, tonight the Saviour is waiting.
