加拉太书 5:1-15 什么是不能兼有的?
Good morning, friends and sisters. Welcome to the 2016 Main Day of the 20th Day of the 11th Lunar Calendar, the Lunar New Year Celebration. Today's main day is recorded in the 5th Chapter of the Book of Galilee, Chapter 1 -15.
The main theme of the day is, what is not to be bound? As the saying goes, water and fire cannot be mixed. We all know that these two things cannot be mixed. These two things can be said to be one and the same.
What's more, when something is mixed up, such as adding fuel to the fire, the consequences are unimaginable. So, you must clearly understand, what things and things can be bound together, and what things and things cannot be bound together.
Today's passage of the Bible, Paul advises the believers of Galilee on three things, or three things, that cannot be bound together. They are, 1. Christians and Gentiles. 2. The followers of the Cross, and the rebels.
3. The free and the free willed. Paul says this in the first chapter, Christ set us free, for the sake of our freedom. He did not want us to be controlled by the Gentiles. Paul says, the free and the free willed are two things that cannot be bound together.
Christ set us free, for the sake of our freedom. That is, through Christ, God bestowed on us the grace of salvation. That is, a new life. He did not want us to be controlled by the Gentiles. That is, a trap of death.
Therefore, life and death are incompatible. Paul says in the second chapter, Christ and Galilee cannot be bound together. This is Paul's advice to the Gentiles, and also to us.
At this time,.
Some false teachers came from Jerusalem. They told the Gentiles, since you have reconciled with God through Christ, you should be isolated. You are a part of the Jewish faith. You should be on guard against the law of Assyria and Moses.
The Gentiles said, Christ set them free. He set the Gentiles free, and they follow the law. These Gentiles believe that Christ is a proof of faith.
Then,.
With this proof of faith, you have the right to be a part of the Jewish faith, and to follow the law of Moses, and to receive the grace of God, the grace of God, and to be set free. Today, there are some Christians, who believe that after Christ, they still follow the rules set by the Church.
For example,.
They do not smoke, they do not eat meat, or they must wear a cross on their body, and even the Church stipulates that they must use the Bible, etc. These big and small rules, they believe that this proof of faith can lead them to heaven.
These Jews from Jerusalem, they believe that being isolated is a proof of faith in God. If you do not have this proof of faith, you are not God's people.
Today,.
Many people believe that to become a Christian, you must receive baptism. They say that receiving baptism is equivalent to being isolated. Brothers and sisters,.
Friends,.
We must be very clear about one thing,.
That is,.
First there is God, then there is the vision of God and Abraham, and then there is the sign of isolation. Instead of first going through isolation, and then entering God's vision, and making peace with God.
In that case,.
Paul on the third day, to all the people who were isolated, gave a solemn statement. He has the responsibility,.
The respect,.
And all the big and small laws. You can ask yourself, can you go through all the big and small laws with a clear conscience? If you are weak, if you are incapable,.
Then you,.
The people who are isolated, who rely on the big and small laws, who rely on the power of man, and the hard work of man, to gain the joy of God, want to be with Christ, that is, He is on the cross, to save you.
Then they are isolated. They fall from grace. On the fourth day. Then Jesus,.
Christ,.
Has no interest in you. Paul on the fifth day said, You rely on the Holy Spirit, on the faith,.
On the righteousness,.
On the righteousness of God's people. That is, to be calm, to be righteous, to be with God, to be good. The fact that we are today,.
Is external,.
But the fact that we are today, is that we are by the grace of Christ, through the grace of Christ, to be redeemed. Whether we are isolated, or are baptized, it only means that we are on the mark of God's grace.
We cannot receive salvation through the so-called quarantine, or baptism, or sacrifice, because it cannot lead us to the Lord. In the book of Jesus, there is no use in being quarantined or not. Only the combination of grace and faith is accepted by God.
Paul said in 5 Thessalonians 6, God does not care if we are quarantined or not. What He cares about is His people loving Him, believing Him, believing that He bestowed His grace upon us, believing that His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, has redeemed us on the cross.
This is Paul's advice to us as a disciple of God, to have faith, hope, and love. Only the Holy Spirit teaches us to have faith, hope, and love. When we live in the grace of God, we live by the power of the Holy Spirit.
But if we do not have the power of the Holy Spirit, we will fall from grace. Paul said, The Jews who were allowed to be quarantined, separated them from the non-quarantined foreigners. Unless you have the sign of quarantine, you will not be able to cross the wall and become a part of them.
But,.
Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 2, Now in Christ, it is by His blood, not by the blood of the quarantined. Whether you are a Jew or a non-Jew, let us be one, and break down the wall between us. Christ, with His own body, removed the hatred from both sides, and abolished the law, and was quarantined.
The two became one in Him,.
And the hatred was eliminated,.
And the two became one, no longer foreigners and Christians. They became one with the Holy Spirit, and became one with the Holy Spirit. They became one with the Holy Spirit. Brothers and sisters, Let us use the Holy Spirit, and the cross, to pay our debt of gratitude, and not to use the power of man, and the hard work of man, to earn the debt of gratitude.
Let us listen to Paul's teachings, in the name of the Holy Spirit.
Second,.
Those who follow the cross, and those who make trouble, shall not be bound,.
Nor shall they be tangled.
Paul, in the 7th chapter, used the metaphor of a sportsman, to say that the Galatians, were sportsmen who followed the cross. In this long competition, they tried their best, to run towards the goal, and followed each other, with steady steps, and each other's strength, to fight for the last, which is called the crown of righteousness.
They never stopped moving forward. But now, those who make trouble, which is the Galatians, are among you, leading you away from the right path, and persuading you to follow the wrong path. Paul pointed out to the Galatians, that the persuasion, and persuading them,.
Is not from those who make trouble,.
Which means,.
These people,.
These false teachers, are not from God. These people, are a bunch of rascals. Paul also pointed out to the Galatians, that the false teachings of these people,.
The one that is called justice, is like a little smile, which can make the whole group rise up.
These teachings that are far from the truth, have led the Church to be misled. They have gradually taken a liking to the teachings of the Church, and have even ignored the grace of God, the salvation of Jesus Christ.
They have only focused on how to follow the teachings of the Church,.
Even so,.
Paul believed that the Galatians would not have any other thoughts. Their foundation is based on Christ, and would not be easily shaken. He believed that the Galatians' nature would lead them to follow the right path.
Paul even pointed out to these misleaders, that no matter who it is, on the day of judgment, they must be punished by God. These misleaders may loudly shout,.
Paul,.
You also once said that Timothy was your brother, so you are also a misleader, and you must be punished by God. They emphasized, and held a reasonable question,. In Acts 16, Timothy was the son of a Jew woman.
His father was a Syrian, but his father, before he was born, did not give him a quarantine. Paul intended to take Timothy to a Jewish place to preach the gospel, for the sake of the local Jews, because they all knew that Timothy's father was a Syrian.
Paul gave Timothy a quarantine. Paul did not call Timothy to a quarantine, but rather, because when Timothy was in quarantine, he already believed in Jesus Christ. Therefore, Paul did not want Timothy to become a misleader.
Because of his quarantine.
Let's think about it, in the time of preaching the gospel, we often have to face the customs of our country.
The key is,.
If these customs do not resist God's teaching, then for the sake of God's blessing, we may not need to be too conservative. Paul in chapter 11, for his own benefit,.
Said,.
If I am still in quarantine, why am I still persecuted? In other words, because Paul preached the gospel, he was in conflict with the Jews in Jerusalem, and was persecuted,.
Beaten,.
And even imprisoned. It can be seen that he was not in quarantine. If, as these false teachers said, Paul preached the gospel, there would be no place for the cross on the peninsula. In other words, there would be no place for God's blessing.
If this is the case, then Paul would not want those who are causing trouble, such as the Galatians, to be severely punished. Paul's message is that these false preachers, who are in quarantine, should not be persecuted.
This is a clear message. Brothers and sisters, God's grace, and people's credit, in other words, people being able to save themselves, cannot be combined, cannot be mixed. Only by faith, can we receive God's grace.
Third,.
Those who are free, and those who are free to indulge in the will of God. Paul said in verse 13, Since we are free to indulge in the will of God, and Christ has set us free, we are free to indulge in the will of God.
Since we are set free from the law, we can take this opportunity to indulge in the will of God. Paul said, This is impossible. We are set free from the law, and are free to indulge in the will of God.
We are not free to indulge in the will of flesh, blood, and life.
