The Manifestation of Spiritual Gifts in the Body

Will you please turn to 1 Corinthians chapter 12. We'll read from verse 1 to verse 12. 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 1. But concerning spiritual, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant. You know that when we were of the nations, you were led away to dumb idols, in whatever way you might be led.

I give you therefore to know that no one speaking in the power of the Spirit of God says, Cursed be Jesus. And no one can say Lord Jesus unless in the power of the Holy Spirit. But there are distinctions of gifts for the same Spirit, and there are distinctions of services and the same Lord.

And there are distinctions of operations, but the same God who operates all things in all. But to each the manifestation of the Spirit is given for profit. For to one by the Spirit is given the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit.

And to a different one faith in the power of the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing in the power of the same Spirit. And to another operations of miracles, and to another prophesy, and to another discerning of Spirit, and to another one kind of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.

But all these things operate the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each in particular according as he pleases. For even as the body is one, and has many members, but all the members of the body being many of one body, so also is the Christ.

Or service, let us occupy ourselves in service, or he that teaches in teaching. Or he that exhorts in exhortation, he that gives in simplicity, he that leads with diligence, he that shows mercy with cheerfulness.

Or he that persuades, let us persuade, he that forsakes, let us forsake, he that guides, let us guide, he that shows mercy, let us forgive. The letter to the Ephesians, chapter four, we begin with verse seven.

But to each one of us has been given grace according to the measure of the gift of the Christ. Wherefore, he says, having ascended up on high, he has led captivity captive, and has given gifts to men.

But that he ascended, what is it? But that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth. He that descended is the same who has also ascended up above all the heavens, that he might feel all things.

And he has given some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some shepherds and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, with a view to the work of the ministry, with a view to the edifying of the body of Christ.

Until we all arrive at the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at the full grown man, at the measure of the statue of the fullness of the Christ. In all of that, we may be no longer babes, tossed and carried about by every vein of that teaching which is in the slate of man, in unprincipled cunning, with a view to systematize ever. But holding the truth in love, we may grow up to him in all things, who is the head?

The Christ. From whom the whole body, fitted together and connected by every joint of supply, according to the working in the measure of each one part, works for itself. The increase of the body to its self-building up in love.

If anyone speak as oracles of God, if anyone minister as of strength which God supplies, that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, in whom is the glory and the might for the ages of ages.

Amen. Let us have a word of prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, as we gather here in the name of thy beloved Son, our hearts are full of thanks and gratitude. We bow and worship thee because of thy kindness, thy goodness, thy graciousness, thy love towards us.

We thank thee for being with us during these few days. We thank thee for bringing us to this last session. It is all because of thy mercies, and we are thankful. Dear Lord, we do commit this last session into thy hands.

We pray that thou will continue to speak to us. We pray that all that is still needed to be spoken will be spoken. We pray that thou will deliver us from any confusion that still may be in us. Bring us back to the simplicity of Christ, that we may really know thee in a living way.

Our heart's desire is that we may know thy Spirit. Open our understanding, and bring us into all the truth. We give thee all the glory, in the name of dear Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. We thank God for being with us during these few days.

The Holy Spirit as the One Divine Person

We thank God for bringing us to this last session of the conference. The reason for our being together this time is to know the Holy Spirit. I hope that after a few days together, that we may know the Holy Spirit better than what we have known him before.

I hope that it will not add to our confusion. Our mind may be confused, but our heart knows very well. We know that the Holy Spirit is one. We know that the Holy Spirit is a person. We know that the Holy Spirit is the divine person.

We know that he dwells in us, and he is that another comforter that our Lord Jesus has promised to us. Now, I was told that some people are a little bit confused. Because when I say that in the Gospel of John, the Holy Spirit is promised by the Son.

As if it is a different Spirit from the promise of the Father we find in the letters of Luke. Now, let us remember that there is only one Spirit. 聖靈只有一位。. ,祂是我們看不見的 ,是沒有辦法分開的。. 但是我們來到聖靈的話語中

Spiritual Authority Comes from Divine Life

Where comes authority 權柄是從哪裡來的呢? The right to do things 從哪裡我們得到權力來做事情呢 Authority comes from life There is no authority but God The life of God in us is authority The authority

在我們裡面的聖靈乃是權柄。 So we need to obey that authority If we obey the authority of the Holy Spirit in us ,若是我們順服在我們裡面聖靈的權柄 ,Then we have authority We do not obey the authority of the Holy Spirit in us ,若是我們不順服在我們裡面的聖靈的權柄, Then we have no authority whatsoever

Is the difference of authority heavenly and authority earthly This earth ,在地上 ,if you get to a certain position, you have authority 若是你達到了某一個地位 In spiritual world ,但是在屬靈的世界中,

The Indwelling Spirit and Christ as Lord

Know every believer ,我們知道每一個信徒 Everyone who believes in the Lord Jesusas his personal saviour Is knowledgeably begottenof the Holy Spirit The same time ,並且同時 ,the Holy Spirit comes inand dwells in our spirit

He is there to bethe another comforter. Will never leave us Is the resident boss in us And sisters ,弟兄姊妹們 ,are you your own bossor do you have a resident boss in you 你是你自己的老闆呢 ?還是我們裡面有一位住著一位當家的呢

As you realize Jesus is your Lord and Savior 當我們明白了耶穌是我的主 Next thing you must do is, what do you want me to do 第二件我們必須做的事 ,就是問主說 ,主 ,你要我做什麼 You are my boss Have your representative in me

Holy Spirit who dwells in me Represents you Is the resident boss in me And in ,I listen to him If I listen to him, I in Christ

To Our Christian living 這對於我們基督徒生活來講, Thank God ,we find that he not only wants to mature our life

Will give us gifts By these spiritual gifts ,we will be able to fulfill our function 藉著這些福靈的恩賜 This morning ,we would like to share togethera little bit in that area 所以今天早晨 ,我要在這一方面來交通一些。.

The Purpose of Spiritual Gifts

When you come to this matter of spiritual gifts ,當我們來到屬靈恩賜這一件事上 ,we find in the New Testament ,我們在新約中看見 ,there are four placesthese gifts are especially mentioned These are the placesthat we have read at the beginning

The first questionwe want to ask is this. Does God give us gifts 為什麼神要將恩賜賜給我們 He has already given us life Why is it that he should also give us gifts 那麼為什麼他也要賜給我們恩賜呢 What is the purpose of having spiritual gifts

得著屬靈恩賜的目的是什麼? Is gifts given that we may display ourselves 是不是恩賜賜給我們 ,好教我們表現自己呢 Or is gifts given for his sake 或者這個恩賜是為著他的緣故而賜下給我們 We find in 1 Corinthians 12, verse 7 ,我們看見在哥林多前書十二章第七節裡 ,He said that to each the manifestation of the spirit is given for profit

It is profit Is it Is Very evident 我認為它非常明顯that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to us not for our own profit Is for glorifying the Lord

Is for the building of the body of Christ 為著建造基督的身體。 That is why the Spirit gives us gifts The gifts we find mentioned in the New Testament我們看見在新約聖經裡面提到的恩賜Are they the same as our natural talents

它們是否和我們天然的才能相同呢 ?Is there any difference between spiritual gifts and natural talents? 在屬靈的恩賜和天然的才幹上面是不是有不同呢 ?You know oftentimes after we believe in the Lord Jesus我們知道許多時候當我們信了主耶穌之後And we are in zeal我們有一個火熱People will try to encourage us並且有許多人他們鼓勵我們We often hear people say to us我們常常聽見人這樣對我們說 Now give your talents to God將你的才幹歸給神That you may serve him好能夠來侍奉他If you are a musician若是你是一個音樂家You should consecrate your musical skill to God你應該把你音樂的才能技巧分別為聖歸給神And to worship him and serve him來敬拜他來侍奉他 If you are a manager若是你是一個經理You should offer your managing ability to the church你要把管理的才幹奉獻給教會Maybe you can be an elder或許你能夠做一位長老If you have any special talents若是你有特別的才能If you are very eloquent若是你很有口才 Then offer your eloquence to God那麼把你的口才奉獻給神So that God may be served好叫神能夠得著侍奉Now when we talk about consecration當我們講到分別為聖Probably in our mind可能在我們的心思意念It is to offer our natural talents to God乃是把我們天然的才幹奉獻給神And by that to serve his purpose藉著這一切我們來侍奉 Now natural talents are also given to us by God天然的才能也是神賜給我們的When we are born into this world當我們生在這個世上God gifted us with some natural talents神給我們每一個人都有天然的才能Because without these natural talents we cannot live因為我們沒有這些天然的才能我們就無法生活 These natural talents give us the ability to live a natural life這些天然的才能使我們有能力來過一個天然的生活But brothers and sisters但是弟兄姊妹們We are now being saved現在我們得救了And in spirit, one spirit we were baptized into one body在一位聖靈中我們都進入了一個身體And we are going to live a spiritual life 我們要過一個屬靈的生活It is different from our past life這和我們以往的生活是不同的In the past life we live by our nature以往我們是照著我們的天性來生活And with these natural talents並且是藉著這些天然的才幹To make our life successful好使我們的生活裡面成功 But now we are in another kind of life但是我們現在要過另外一種的生活We are now living a spiritual life我們現在是生活在一個屬靈的生命裡A heavenly life一個屬天的生命裡And we are living in a heavenly environment我們也住在一個屬天的環境中Because the church is a heavenly thing因為教會乃是屬天的事情 Now what ability are we going to use to live ?我們要用什麼樣的能力來生活呢 ?You remember the story of Moses我們記得摩西的故事Moses was brought up in the palace in Egypt摩西乃是在埃及的王宮中長大的 The Bible tells us that he learns all the learnings of Egypt聖經告訴我們說他學了埃及所有的學問He is great in words and in deeds他是一個說話行事都大有能力的人But thank GodSomehow when his mother nursed himThe mother injected into him something 當他的母親在奴養他的時候他的母親在他的生命裡注入了一些事情Must tell him that he is a HebrewHe is a Hebrew他告訴他說你是一個希伯來人And God preserved your life for a purpose神保全你的生命是為的一個目的And this seems to really enter into the heart of Moses 似乎這件事情真正進到了摩西的心裡So even if he was the adopted son of Pharaoh's daughter所以即便他成為了法老女兒的養子And he was raised in the palace他在王宮中被培養長大And he had lots of talents他有許多的才幹Not only born with talents不僅是天生的才能 And with education he learned a lot並且藉著受教育他學了許多So when he was forty years old所以在他四十歲的時候The thought came to himThe thought came to him有一個意念進到他裡面I am a Hebrew我是一個希伯來人I am not an Egyptian我不是一個埃及人I must go out and see my brethren我要出去看一看我的弟兄 To see how they live我要看看他們如何生活And when he went out所以當他出去的時候He saw an Egyptian was beating a Hebrew他看見一個埃及人在打一個以色列人So he helped his natural brother所以他就幫助了他肉身的兄弟He is a man mighty indeed 他是一個大有權能的人So he beat that Egyptian to death所以他就打死了那個埃及人To save his Hebrew brother救了他希伯來的兄弟And the next day第二天He went out to see two Hebrews were quarreling他出去看見兩個希伯來人在爭吵He was very eloquent他是一個很有口才的人So he tried to tell them 所以他試著You are brothers你們乃至弟兄Now you should not quarrel你們不應該爭吵You should not cheat one another你們也不應該彼此欺騙And unexpectedly很稀奇的He was rejected他被他們拒絕了And you remember he had to fled for his life我們記得他就必須要逃命He fled to the wilderness And there he spent forty years在那裡他過了四十年Watching the sheep牧羊Now brothers and sisters弟兄姊妹們You know Moses tried to serve God's purposeWith his natural talents摩西試著用他天然的才幹來侍奉神With what he learned from the world他從世界所學來的He thought that that was enough他認為那個足夠了 But he was a failure但是他卻失敗了God rejected him神拒絕了他And God took him away into the wilderness神就把他帶到了曠野裡In that forty years he had to unlearnAll that he had learned before在那四十年中他必須要把他全面所學的通通都忘記You remember when he was eighty years old我們記得當他八十歲的時候 And God called him神呼召他Moses says I cannot speak摩西說我不會說話Now he was not humble他並不是謙卑It's very true那是很真的Because for forty years he speak only to the sheep因為四十年他只向羊說話Now all his eloquence was gone他所有的口才都消失了Because the sheep couldn't understand因為羊聽不懂他的口才So he really couldn't speak All his natural ability had gone into death所有他天然的才能都進入了死地When he thought he was qualified to serve God當他認為他夠資格來侍奉神God disqualified him神卻認為他沒有資格But when he thought that he was totally unqualified但是當他感覺到他完全不夠資格God called him神就呼召他

Natural Talents Must Pass Through Death and Resurrection

我們天然的才能必須要進入死地神唯一能夠使用我們天然才能的方式乃至在他們被帶進死地了以後神使他們復活有的時候我們天然的才能要進入死地並且被埋葬 但是有些時候神許可我們天然的才能再復活起來但是當它復活起來的時候它是在另外一個境界它在另外一個手中不在你我的手中乃至在神的手中有的時候我們天然的才能的復活它是在另外一個境界 有的時候我們天然的才能想要好像擺在屬靈的恩賜那個地位有的時候我們感覺到天然的才能好像和屬靈的恩賜很相配但是有許多時候它們剛好是相反.

這取決於我們天然的才能是否進入死地並且被神從死裡救所以為了要侍奉神神必須要賜給人恩賜恩賜乃是聖靈的一個彰顯 不是你我天然所有的它乃是超然的乃至藉著聖靈賜給你我的聖靈將恩賜賜給人來彰顯祂的能力所以這乃是屬靈的恩賜. 對每一個人的兒女們有一個恩賜賜給我們為什麼會這樣呢因為在同一位聖靈裡我們都受禁歸入了一個身體. 當我們受禁進入了一個身體就是基督的身體我們成為了那個身體裡面的一個肢體一個活的肢體在那個身體裡作為基督身體中一個活的肢體.

Spiritual Gifts Are Given for the Body

神命定了要我們來盡一個特殊的功用神命定了要我們來盡一個特殊的功用為了那個目的神賜給我們一個屬靈的恩賜所以我們在哥林多前書十二章裡看見 當屬靈的恩賜被提起的時候它乃是與身體一起提起來屬靈恩賜賜下的原因乃是為了身體的緣故好使你我在基督的身體裡成為一個盡功用的肢體 你我能夠盡我們該盡的那一份功用好叫在足裡面建立那個身體當我們出生的時候我們得著了一個完全的身體我們有眼睛有耳朵 有嘴巴有手有腳我們有所有的器官沒有一個器官是無用的因為神命定了身體中的每一個肢體.

對身體來講都是必要的許多時候弟兄姊妹喜歡問這樣的問題我沒有任何屬靈的恩賜我怎麼能知道什麼是我屬靈的恩賜呢. 實際上就是很簡單的我們知道當一個孩子出生的時候他出生的時候是帶著他身上所有的肢體而來的而神已經給身上的每一個肢體都有一個恩賜我們有眼睛 眼睛有一個看的功能眼睛是為了整個身體來看他不是為了自己來看他乃是為了整個身體來看那是神命定給眼睛所要做的工作. 但是為了要能看見他就賜下了能看的那個恩賜所以神將能看的那個恩賜給眼睛好叫他能夠來盡他特殊的功用這對我們身上的每一個肢體都是對的.

身上沒有一個肢體是沒有功用的所以在我們身上的沒有一個肢體是沒有恩賜的所以聖經告訴我們說對於身上的每一個肢體 聖靈在他把我們帶進基督的身體裡面在我們被製作成為基督身體中一個肢體的那個時刻神已經決定了你我在那個身體裡面.

是什麼樣功用的一個肢體所以聖靈運行隨著他自己的意識把一個特殊的功能給每一個肢體 所以每一個信主的人我們在基督的身體裡面都從聖靈至少得著了一個的恩賜但是你我可能會說我根本不知道我的恩賜是什麼我也不知道在基督身體裡面我的功用是什麼弟兄姊妹們 我想這個是很簡單的實際上這個問題是我們不需要問的因為這會非常超然而自然的臨到我們當一個嬰孩出生的時候他有眼睛而那個看的恩賜已經在那裡 而不是以後才給的已經在那裡了但是當一個嬰孩剛生下來的時候他看不見什麼因為在他的生命裡他需要有一點的成長然後他就開始能夠看見一些當他成長更多他就看見更多 他看見越多他就越能看見我們的眼睛很奇妙甚至我們可以訓練他在暗中可以看見他說我們一直都在黑暗中我們就什麼也看不見所以我們看見他是隨著生命而來的.

當我們的生命成長了那麼順你所分次給你我的生命那個恩賜就要開始彰顯我們越操練那個恩賜那個恩賜就越發的得著彰顯所以我盼望弟兄姊妹們 我們要非常的實際當我們一重生得救了當我們一成為耶穌基督身體裡一個活的肢體的時候我們就要預備好來進攻有一些事情我們是必須要記住. 第一我們的生命必須要成長若是我們屬靈上不成長我們可能從不會進攻用我們也不會知道自己的恩賜是什麼第二當我們相信了主耶穌如果 我們需要將自己的身體獻上作為活祭歸給神羅馬書十二章告訴我們我們接受了神許多的憐憫我們應該將自己的身體獻上當作活祭這是聖潔的這是神所喜悅的 這是我們合理的侍奉我們看見許多弟兄姊妹們好像他們沒有辦法發現自己的恩賜是什麼乃是因為他們從來沒有將自己歸給主若是我們把自己獻給主 我們向主說主

Being Filled with the Holy Spirit

我們需要被聖靈充滿當我們被聖靈充滿的時候那個恩賜要顯出我們看見有許多的人他們尋求能力. 我認為今天的基督徒們更多意識到能力超過於對聖靈本身的留意因為神的兒女們在尋求能力和恩賜所以我們今天看見我們也被人這樣告訴我們 若是你得著了那第二次的祝福若是你接受了聖靈的禁若是你得著了聖靈的禁那麼你要得著能力那麼你的恩賜 在一九三五年的時候當我初次加入了尼弟兄他的侍奉指示裡在那一年中我們親愛的尼弟兄他感覺在他的生命裡

他被一位弟兄Dr. Stern邀請所以他到中國的北方當他在那裡的時候他遇見了一位姊妹她稱為Fishbach Faye小姐這是一位非常屬靈的姊妹 所以他們有一點交通在那個交通中尼弟兄他被說服了他需要聖靈的進步所以他就尋求當他自己在那裡禱告的時候他有一個奇妙的經歷就是得著聖靈的經歷

我們也得著了一些的經歷我們就把這些帶到弟兄姊妹們中間在那個時候就有了一個很大的運動所以五旬節派的弟兄姊妹非常高興他們覺得我們加入了他們有許多的彰顯 恩賜方言預言醫治病的恩賜這一切的事情都發生了並且開始呢傳播到中國其他的城市裡我們為此感謝神但是很可惜的因為我們缺少了認識 為什麼會這樣當我們尋求能力的時候發生了一些事情最後我們有了一個結論這個結論很簡單但是它確實那樣的真實伽略三是真實的 十字架是在五旬節之前十字架是在能力之前若是在我們的生命中不認識十字架那麼我們先要得著能力好像把一把劍交在孩子的手中

他告訴我這樣他說弟兄在我們靈恩運動裡面的問題乃是我們沒有傳講十字架所以弟兄姊妹們這裡我們看見我們需要成長我們需要認識十字架 我們需要認識我們的肉體怎樣被對付我們天然的才能需要進入此地我們的己生命需要進入此地讓基督在我們身上掌權當能力赤孝的時候那麼才會在合法的情況裡面 許多美好的工作被完成了但是也產生了許多的困惑和難處混亂然後就有人想要解釋這些發生的現象就我的領會來說 是一些天主教裡面的神學家他們開始解釋這些現象他們說這乃是聖靈的澆灌這乃是聖靈的禁 禁止And with all these gifts manifested在這些中間有許多的恩賜得以彰顯Now how do you explain it

那麼我們怎麼解釋They said it is not something new他們說這不是稀奇新的事物It is the activationwhat is already given這乃是重新啟動神已經赤孝的事物 It is not a second blessing這不是第二次的祝福It is just a discoveryof the first blessing乃是恢復那首先已經赤孝的祝福I don't know if you understand what I am saying我不曉得大家是否領會我在說的In other words換一句話說This is what our brothers have been talkingthese few days這是我們弟兄們這幾天所談論的Pentecost cannot be is fulfilledduring these two incidents那個應許已經應驗成全了在這兩件事情上For in one spiritwe were baptized into one body因為在一位聖靈裡我們都受禁進入了一個身體Whether Jews or Gentiles不論是猶太人或外方人 On the day of Pentecostthe Jews在五旬節那一天對猶太人而言in the house of Corneliathe Gentiles在格林留的家裡乃是外方人That is Pentecost那乃是五旬節That is fulfilled那個已經應驗成全了once and forever一次到永遠As our brother saidit's just like redemption像我們弟兄所說的 已經在十字架上所完成了It is done已經完成了You cannot repeat it我們不可能再重複它If we dowe re-crucify the Lord若是我們再這樣做我們乃是重訂主十字架But that doesn't mean thatbecause it is historicalso it is forever gone但是並不因著它是歷史事件所以它就永遠過去了It is historical 它因著它是歷史事件但是它仍然持續它的功效到永遠So brothers and sisters today所以弟兄姊妹們今天We are in the good of Calvary我們乃是來到伽略山We receive what Calvary has already done我們接受在伽略山上已經完成了When you believe in the Lord Jesus當我們相信主耶穌 It is not at that momentthat the Lord crucified for you主耶穌為你我定在十字架The blood is already shed血已經流出來The effect is already there那個功效已經在那裡When you believe the effect becomes yours當你相信的時候那個功效就成為你的了The same thing with Pentecost對於五星節也是相同的Therefore it is an activation 所以那乃是一個啟動In other words換一句話說When you are born again當你重生的時候When you are baptized into the body of Christ當你受禁進入了基督的身體裡You have already been baptized in the Holy Spirit你已經禁在聖靈的裡Otherwise you are not in the body of Christ要不然的話你就不在基督的身體裡Now how do you know you have been baptized in the Spirit 我們怎麼知道我在聖靈裡受禁了呢Very simpleThe moment you believe in the Lord Jesus當我相信耶穌基督的那個時刻Not only you are conscious of your Heavenly Father不僅我開始意識到我有天賦了Whenever you meet another one當我們遇見另一位For the first time頭一次的But you know, you discover that he is also a believer 當我們發現他也是一位信徒Immediately you find there is a kindred spirit立刻我們感覺有一個親切親人的感覺Now where comes this consciousness而這一個意思是從哪裡來的This is body verse 18這是我們在哥林多前書第十二章第十八節裡面所看見的But now God has set the membersEach one of them in the bodyAccording as it has pleased him但如今神隨自己的意思把肢體聚個安排在身上 So God has already, it pleases GodHe has already set you as a certain member in the body of Christ所以這是神的喜悅把我們擺在基督的身體裡面做一個特別的肢體And at the same time並且同時It pleases the Holy Spirit也是聖靈所喜悅To empower you with a certain gift賜給你能力 ,賜給你一個恩賜 When a child is born, he has the gift of seeing正好像一個孩子出生的時候他得出了看的這個恩賜So it's already there所以他已經在那裡You have everything你有所有的事情But you don't know但是我們不知道You are not conscious of it我們沒有意識到Or you are not in a state of realizing what you have或者我們沒有達到一個光景 我們領悟了我已經有這些So when you have an experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit所以當我們被聖靈充滿了那個精力的時候You find everything is being activatedIn other words, come into life我們才發現這一切都被啟動了換一句話說呢 ,他們都活過來了Brothers and sisters Now to me I think this is a good explanation對我而言 ,我認為這是一個很好的解釋So that's the reason why這就是為什麼We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit我們需要被聖靈充滿Now, how to be filled with the Holy Spirit那麼我們怎麼能夠被聖靈充滿呢Very simpleEmpty yourself 道空我們自己And he will fill you他就要充滿我們The time when you really repent and empty yourself before the Lord當我們真正悔改並且在主面前道空自己的時候You experience a filling of the Holy Spirit我們要精力聖靈的充滿 The Holy Spirit is like air聖靈好像空氣一樣He fills this room他充滿這個房間But because there are so many chairs and people here但是因為在這裡有許多的椅子和許多的人So aside from him you find there are chairs, there are people所以除了他之外我們也看見椅子和人 As if you have squeezed him into certain empty space所以好像我們把他擠到了一些空的地方When you move all the chairs out就是我們把所有椅子都挪開All the people out所有的人都出去You find the air fill the whole room我們發現這個房間就完全被空氣所充滿Brothers and sisters弟兄姊妹們What we need is to be emptied 我們所需要的乃是被搗空That is the work of the Holy Spirit那乃是聖靈的工作He is emptying us他在搗空我們He is emptying us of sin他把我們的罪搗空If there is sin若那裡有罪他就擔憂他就在那裡哀哭And if there is the world there若是在裡面有世界 Worldly things俗世的事Worldly ideas世界的觀念Worldly pursuit追求世界If we are occupied with the world若是我們被世界所佔有Then the Holy Spirit is grieved within us那麼聖靈在我們裡面就難過He is not able to manifest himself他就沒有辦法來彰顯他自己Or if we are full of ourselves我們若是充滿了自己 Then you will find againHe is being quenched我們再一次發現他在那裡被消滅了If we are so self-centered若是我們如此以自己為中心No wonder we are not conscious of his presence難怪我們意識不到他的存在Brothers and sisters弟兄姊妹們Empty ourselves搗空我們自己And then he will fill us But of course當然We do not experienceUntil we come to the end of ourselves除非我們來到我們自己的盡頭我們是無法經歷的That's the reason why那是為什麼We have to be filled again and againHaving this experience我們需要一再地被充滿有這樣的經歷Sometimes when you feel dry 有的時候當我們感覺枯乾When you feel you are being oppressed有的時候我們感覺受壓You go to the Lord我們到主面前You repent我們悔改You turn to him我們轉向他You allow his spirit to search you我們求聖靈來見他And when he emptied you當他倒空我們的時候 When you surrender yourself當我們向他降服自己Sometimes you have a crisis有的時候我們有一個危機You cannot get over it我們沒有辦法過去You go to the Lord我們到主面前You pray我們禱告You repent我們悔改You present your body as a living sacrifice我們再把自己的身體獻上當作活祭.

弟兄姊妹們You are given the power to go through我們就要被賜予能力能夠過去Sometimes when you are serving the Lord有的時候我們在侍奉主And you find there is no power我們發現沒有能力And you go to the Lord我們到主面前不是為了自己的能力也不是為了表現自己 But for his sakeAnd you are burdened並且我們裡面有沉重的負擔我們等候主他要見曹Search every part of your life把我們生活生命裡的每一部分都見曹And when all these things have been dealt with當這一切事物都被兌付了He will fill you他要充滿我們弟兄姊妹們You experience another feeling of the Holy Spirit 這是經歷聖靈的充滿So dear brothers and sisters所以弟兄姊妹們This is the activation of what God has already given to you這才是啟動神已經賜給我們的一切This is the reason whyThere is no reason for us toBeg and beg and tarry and tarry這就是為什麼我們不需要到主面前 一再的哀求再哀求在那裡單言再單言Be brought to the right place應該立刻被帶到那對的地位上And just look upAnd there he will fill you我們只要仰望他就在那裡他要充滿我們So brothers and sisters所以弟兄姊妹們Maybe another question或許還有另一個問題 Can we ask for gifts我們能不能來求恩賜呢Now according to 1 Corinthians chapter 12照著哥林多前書十二章You find that it pleases Godto set us in the body as particular members我們看見神隨著自己的意思把肢體聚個安排在身上And then the Holy Spirit accordingly According to his pleasureHe will give each a particular gift而聖靈同樣的照著同一個原則隨著自己的意思將恩賜分給各人Now if that is the caseIt seems as if we do not need to ask for particular gifts若事情真是這樣的話似乎我們就不需要特別來要求某一個特殊的恩賜 It is given by the Holy Spirit as he pleases因為是照著聖靈所喜悅的聖靈已經賜給我們了And he is always doing it according towhich member you are in that body並且他這樣賜下總是照著我們在身體裡面是什麼樣的肢體而賜給我們You know when you look at all these placesabout spiritual gifts當我們讀聖經講到 屬靈恩賜的各處經文的時候They are all related to the body他們都和聖經是彼此相關的Related to the body都和身體是相關的Because these gifts are to be exercisedin the body and for the body因為這些恩賜必須是在身體中來運用也是為了身體而運用Gifts are not given to be exercisedindependently of the body 恩賜不是在身體之外來運用的And so if God has already ordainedwhat member I am所以神已經命定了我是什麼樣的肢體And the Holy Spirit who knows the mind of Godhas given me the corresponding gift聖靈他知道神的旨意心思他就照著這個意思將恩賜賜給我Then there is no place for me to ask for other gifts那麼我就沒有什麼地位 要求其他的恩賜If I am an eye如果我是一個眼睛And I ask to see我應該 眼睛應該來看That's supernaturally natural那是一個超然的自然If I am an eye若是我是一個眼睛And I want to hear若是我想要聽Now that's ridiculous那就很可笑了.

Desiring Greater Gifts for the Church

So if in this sense you cannot ask for a particular gift所以我們就一面一來講我們不需要再要求特別的恩賜But here in chapter 12 verse 31但是在第十二章三十一節的地方Paul said to the CorinthiansBut desire earnestly the greater gifts保羅向哥林多的弟兄姊妹說你們要切切地求那更大的恩賜And in chapter 14 verse 1在第十四章第一節裡 Follow after love and be amulets of spiritual manifestationBut rather that ye may prophesy你們要追求愛也要羨慕屬靈的恩賜其中更要羨慕的是做先知講道Now how do you reconcile these我們怎樣把這兩個不同的感覺調和呢Now I do not pretend that I know the answer我不要假裝我知道這個答案 I have meditated, waited before the LordBut I have to say I don't have the solution我在主面前默想等候主但是我必須要誠實地說我並沒有確定的答案There are few thoughts I would like to share with you但是我可以和大家分享幾個意念You know Paul when he was writing this letter 我們知道當保羅在他寫這個書信的時候He has the Corinthian believers in view在他的意念裡面是百德格林多的弟兄姊妹Now these Corinthian believers這些格林多的信徒們They do not grow as they should他們並沒有照著他們應該的來成長 But their mentality is still in the baby hood他們的意念仍然還是嬰孩的階段So they have a kind of false thinking所以在他們裡面有一種假的不對的一種的意念They think that having spiritual gifts makes you spiritual 他們認為得著了屬靈的恩賜就使你成為一個屬靈的人Only if you have gift只要你有了恩賜Then you instantly become spiritual立刻你就成為屬靈的人了And because they are so carnal因為他們是如此的屬天然血氣They want to display how spiritual they are所以他們想要表現他們是何等的屬靈 So they look forward to these displaying gifts所以他們就尋求想要得著這些能表現的恩賜And speaking in tongues, that is displaying說方言是一個很好的表現If only they can speak in other tonguesThen instantly they become spiritual若是你能夠說出別國的方言立刻你就成為一個屬靈人了So everybody seeks for speaking in tongues 每一個人都尋求說方言Now brothers and sisters弟兄姊妹們Of course當然了There are lots of false tongues as well as real tongues有許多假冒的方言也有真的方言You know tongue is not something only in Christianity我們知道方言不僅在基督徒的中間In other religions they have the same phenomena 在其他的宗教裡面也有同樣的現象So it is not exclusively a Christian experience所以並不只是基督徒獨有的經歷But the Corinthian believers seeking for tongues但是哥林多的信徒們尋求說方言Because that would display them very clearly因為那能夠很清楚地來表現他們自己So Paul is trying to tell them所以保羅試著告訴他們 Now don't have that kind of babyish mentality你們不要再有這個嬰孩的心態了Seeking gifts for your own self為了自己的緣故來尋求恩賜You should grow up in your mind你們需要在你們心態意念上長大And you should desire something greater gifts你們需要渴慕更大的恩賜Gifts that can help the church那個恩賜能夠幫助教會And probably that is one reason why 這可能是這裡的一個原因Now another reason另一個原因The hand is given the gifts of handling things手被賦予一個恩賜能夠拿東西處理事物But sometimes但是有些時候When in the body當在身體裡Some other members of the body is paralyzed 在身體裡面一些其他的肢體癱瘓You find very strangely我們發現很稀奇A member that is not supposed to function in that wayWill begin to be trained to be so function一個肢體它原來沒有不是命定要那樣進功用的它卻能夠被訓練進它原來沒有的功用You know the hand can see我們知道手可以看 A blind person一個瞎眼的人He cannot read他沒有辦法看And yet he can use his hand to read但是他卻能夠用他的手來讀書Now that is special這是很特別的But it is those specials that prove the rule但是Exception proves the rule這是一個特例來證明的一個規矩 So there is no contradiction there所以在那裡並沒有矛盾So I wonder if this is the case我猜想這可能是它的原因Because so many members of the body of Christ are not functioning因為在身體裡面許多的肢體沒有辦法進功And if you really love the body of Christ如果你真是愛基督的身體You seek that you may be given gifts that can help the body 我們就尋求或許主就賜給我們一恩賜能夠幫助身體And God will do something very special神常常會做一些特殊的事And will give you a greater gift而賜給我們更大的恩賜Now that is what I am thinking about這乃是我自己的一點的意見Just for your reference只是提供給大家做參考But anyway不論如何 And how are the gifts to be exercised恩賜要怎樣來操練呢Paul said I show you a more excellent way保羅說我指示你們一個更美的道路And that is the way of love那乃是愛的路In other wordsIt is life that handles gifts 若是生命來運用恩賜If your life is like a baby若是我們的生命像一個嬰孩And you try to use your gift若是我們試著來運用自己的恩賜You will find instead of helping peopleProbably it is just to exhort yourself 反而我們會發現我們本來是想要幫助別人反而我們卻叫自己疲倦枯竭了But if your life is matured若是我們的生命成熟了And it handles the gift那麼這個生命來管制這個恩賜It will build the church and glorify God它要建立教會並且使神得榮耀 So you find these two things have to go together所以我們看見這兩件事必須走在一起When you separate life from power若是我們把生命和能力分開You have problemAt the same time同時If you seek for power and without corresponding life若是我們尋求能力而沒有相對的生命Then you find the power can do damage 我們就看見這個能力會造成破壞But anyway brothers and sisters但是不論怎樣弟兄姊妹們You find that all these gifts are givenTo build the church to glorify God我們看見這所有的恩賜賜下來是建造教會叫神得榮耀So may the Lord help us所以願主得著我們 That we may know the Holy Spirit His person好叫我們能夠認識聖靈祂的身位That in life we may grow在生命中我們能成長And we may also know the Holy Spirit by gift我們也能夠藉著恩賜來認識聖靈Know His power 認識祂的能力In order that we may serve God's purpose好叫我們能夠運用祂來服侍神的旨意So everything is from God所以一切都是從神而來Through God並且是藉著神並且是歸給神願榮耀歸給祂我們一同禱告Dear Heavenly Father we want to thank Thee 親愛的天父我們要感謝祢For gathering us these days在這幾天把我們聚在一起We thank Thee that Thou does turn our attentionTo know the Holy Spirit我們感謝祢使我們能夠留意我們要認識聖靈Maybe we hope this will be the beginningOf knowing the Holy Spirit我們願這是我們認識聖靈的開始 As much about the Holy Spirit LordWe still do not understand主啊關於聖靈我們還有許多並不明白的Will You continue to teach us and to guide us求祢繼續的幫助並且引領我們That we may know the Holy Spirit好叫我們真認識聖靈And in knowing Him knowing God因著我們認識祂我們能認識神 We ask in the name of
