Hello and welcome back to Daily Bites of God's Word. This is Andy Cain. It's a joy to be back with you once again. Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 38.
It says, So we see here that we want to see the
Word of God firmly established, firmly rooted, and it's notice the personal nature here.
He says for your slave, your bond servant, the one who serves you, the one who belongs to you, you are my
Lord, you are my master, I am your slave, your servant, and I want your word, your command to be the thing that is firmly established in my life.
Why? Because it's that which produces fear for you.
It is a way of producing that right, reverent fear, fearing the
Lord, understanding that He is God. He is beyond our ways. He is so unimaginably beyond what we are.
We are finite creatures. He's infinite. That should create, yes, a level of actual fear within us, understanding that we will fall into the hands of God for judgment, but we don't have to fear it because we are saved by Christ.
But for the unsaved, it's a terrible thing to think you could fall in the hands of a just and holy righteous
God unsaved. And so we want for us for His Word to be established in us so that we can have the right type of fear, this reverent fear that truly puts the
Lord in His rightful place in our lives. Amen? Well, I hope this is the prayer that you have for yourself, and I hope you seek
God's Word so you can learn more about your Lord. And I want to thank you for joining me. I'm going to say goodbye to God's Word.
