Hello there and welcome back to God -Centered Theology. This is Andy Cain. It's a joy to be back with you once again. Today we have another
God -Centered recommendation for you. Today we have Why You Act The Way You Do.
This is by Tim LaHaye. This is an excellent book. It is a book that was given to me during an internship with my pastor and mentor,
Dr. R .J. Wagner. He gave me this book one time and said, Andy, so much of what you're going to need to know in life obviously comes from the
Bible, but it's going to come from here too because it's about managing personalities, understanding why people act certain ways, understanding why you yourself act certain ways.
And this has a great breakdown of, it's so much beyond, okay, you know, people say, well,
I'm type A or I'm type B. I'm either extroverted or introverted. There's a lot more to it.
Understanding there's four basic groups in here and how they overlap. And this is not anything that, you know, is too in -depth, but it's meant to just give you an idea of some of the reasons why you have certain proclivities and certain reasons why you lean certain ways or would speak in certain situations, but you may not in others.
You know, all those sorts of things that, you know, make the world go round, make us different. And understanding these personality types and understanding why people are acting certain ways can help you lead them in terms of pastoral ministry or if you're a deacon or a
Sunday school teacher, or even on your job, you know, if you're an employer or if you're a boss and understanding how to lead your people, everybody's going to, maybe some people may need you to sit down and talk with them at length.
Some people may just need you to say, Hey man, let's tighten up. You know, some people need you to really care about them.
Some people need you to be interested in something they're interested in. There's so many different ways we interact.
And so the whole cookie cutter approach of one size fits all just doesn't cut it. And if you try that route, you're not going to succeed as much as you would.
If you take the time to understand the people that are around you and in churches is important. Every Christian's different.
Uh, every Christian has different gifts and different backgrounds and being able to understand this will help us be more unified as well.
So wonderful book, why you act the way you do analyze your strengths and weaknesses, discover how
God can use your gifts, improve your relationships with others. Get ahead in your career. Timble. Hey, excellent book.
I highly recommend it. And I'll put a link to it in the description. Thank you for joining me on this God -centered recommendation.
