Daniel and the Lions’ Den in Daniel 6

All right, AJ, what is your presentation going to be on this week?

My presentation is going to be on Daniel and the Lions. This story is a different Daniel. It's found in Daniel 6.

Daniel 6, okay. Ezra, do you know this story too? Yeah. Okay, AJ, why don't you tell us what happens?

So, once upon a time, there was a different king named Darius. Was he a good king or a bad king?

A good king. A good king. Look. I see it. Okay, go ahead, AJ.

Then, um, then, um, the, the, Daniel was his chief helper. Okay. The other king's helpers did not like Daniel. Oh, no.

Look, a dragon. I see it. Okay, go ahead, AJ. Keep going.

Okay, then, um, uh, the bad helper said to Daniel, You are such a wonderful king. You should make a new law that says for the next 30 days, everyone must only pray to you. Oh, no.

Wait, wait, wait. Were they really saying he was a good king or were they just trying to trick him? They were trying to trick him. Is that true, Ezra? And make him a bad king.

Oh, no. Yeah, trick him. Okay, so then what happened? Then, um, then Daniel kept playing morning, noon, night. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. He was praying to the king? No, God. Oh, okay, good, good, okay.

Phew. Then. Got scared there for a second. The guys caught him while he was playing. Oh, no. What happened after they caught him? He stopped playing. Then, the guys caught him. And he was on the floor in the lion's den.

Wait, wait. They threw him in the lion's den? Yeah. Did the lions eat him? No. No. I don't know. What happened? Daniel was playing and the lions didn't even eat him. So, wait. Then God calmed the lions down with an angel.

Then, um. So, God protected him? Yeah. Okay. And then, um, uh, then. What did the king say? Then the king said, has your God saved you? And then Daniel said, yes. God sent an angel to protect me. Oh, good.

And then, um, they, um. And then the king threw the bad men into the lion's den. Wait a minute. Did God protect the bad men? No.

So, what happened to the bad men? They got eaten by the lions. The lions ate the bad men? Yeah. Really? Because they were enemies, right? Right. They were bad guys and so they had to be done.

Yeah, they had to be done. And they got eaten. Rawr. Everyone say it like that. Rawr. Rawr.

Prayer, Protection, and Trusting God

That sounds pretty good. Yeah, they really do. Okay, so I've got a question for you, Ezra. You answer this question. If somebody tells you to pray to the king, should you do it? No. Good. What do you think?

Should you do it if someone tells you to pray to the king? No. Here's what I would do. If somebody told me to pray to the king and it wasn't God, here's what I would say. Oh. Okay, okay. Now, I have another question for you.

Do you guys pray? We do. Yeah. Ezra, name one thing that you pray for.

Uh, thank, uh, loving your mom and dad.

Loving my mom and dad. And do you sometimes pray for God to help you to use the potty? Yeah. Do you sometimes thank God for food?

Yeah. What other thing do you pray for, Ez? Uh, it's my turn now. To stay in my bed. To stay in your bed. That's a good one. It's my turn now. Your turn, AJ. What do you pray for?

Staying in my bed. Staying in your bed. That's good. Do you think God protects you at night? Yeah. Definitely, he does. Yeah. Do you think if there were any bad guys out there that he would protect you from the bad guys?

Yeah. Yeah. Do you think that he would defeat the bad guys? Yes. Sometimes we pray for God to defeat bad guys, right? Yeah. Okay. Well, guys, anything that you want to say to people on YouTube? One last thing?
