Just before we read the Word of God, we'll ask God's blessing. Let us pray. Our Father, we thank Thee for what we've listened to of our brethren and how God did work in their lives and how they came to know the Lord Jesus as their own personal Savior.
And we ask Thee that as we read the Scriptures now and preach the gospel, and as our brother follows, that someone here too might come to know Christ, that there might be a soul saved in this meeting or more than one.
We thank Thee for the power of the gospel and we commend all to Thee in the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen. I'd like to read one verse, please. John chapter 3 and verse 16. The gospel of John chapter 3 and verse number 16.
That's all I wish to read and trust God will bless his word with what we've heard and with what we will hear from our brother Steers. The last time I spoke on this verse was at a funeral. It was the funeral of my nephew and that day my sister got saved.
That was about 10 weeks ago. I'd prayed for her for 32 years from I was saved. Maybe you're here today and your family not saved. Well, we would just like to encourage you to keep praying. Maybe you're here today and you're not saved.
I want you to think about this verse with me. A number of things I want you to think about it. First of all, I want you to think with me that you can be sure. You can be sure about a number of things.
You can be sure that there is a God. Our Bible begins like this. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. We were hearing earlier today that we are here because God created us. God created this universe.
The heavens declare the glory of God. The firmament showeth his handiwork. Day after day utter a speech. There's no speech in our language where their voice is not heard. The creation is a witness to God.
The invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen. Being understood by the things that are made even has eternal power in Godhead so that we're without excuse. You're without excuse tonight.
You know there is a God. You can be sure there is a God. You can be sure there is a God because of creation. The great creation, the universe all around us. You can be sure there is a God because of this first soul.
Because of the plan of salvation. No man could ever have dreamed this plan up. Oh the love that drew salvation's plan. Oh the grace that brought it down to man. Oh the mighty gulf that God had spun at Calvary.
There was only one heart in all the universe of God that could have planned a plan of salvation. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. My friend tonight in this meeting as you sit in this seat you can be sure there's a God as you read this verse and as you listen to the plan of salvation.
It could not have been dreamed up by any company or committee of men or all the world combined. No, the great minds of men would never have planned it so it was planned in the heart of God. You can be sure there is a God.
We could go on and go on. You can be sure there's a God because you've heard his voice. I have no doubt in my mind that every single person here has heard the voice of God. You know that there is sin in your life.
You know that you have sinned. When we say all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Somewhere down in your consciousness, you know that you have sinned. You know that there's things that you've done that was wrong and you did them and it has troubled you at one time or another.
That is your conscience given to you by God. God has spoken to you by his spirit. God speaketh once ye twice yet man perceiveth it not. You know, there is a God because he has spoken to you. You can be sure there is a God.
You can be sure that your sin will find you out. You can try to hide your sin my friend, but you'll never hide it. One day it will be exposed. It's like an open book before the God of heaven, the God that you have to meet.
You can hide your sin from your nearest and dearest, but remember this. All your sin is against God. You have sinned against the Lord and be sure your sin will find you out. You can be sure your sin will find you out.
He that covereth his sin shall not prosper. You cannot cover your sin my friend and prosper. Spiritually prosper. You can be sure your sin will find you out. It will be discovered. These things hast thou done and I kept silent.
But I will reprove thee and set them in order before thine eyes. All things are naked and open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Your sin, you can be sure your sin will find you out. You can be sure you're going to die.
You're not here to stay. It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Perhaps you've been at a funeral recently. Perhaps you've stood at a gravesite. So all I want to tell you, you can be sure that you're going to die.
That little pulse in your wrist. That breath in your nostrils. That's what's keeping you out of hell. You can be sure that you're going to die. You can be sure your sin will find you out. You can be sure there is a God.
You can be sure that Christ is risen. The man who died at Calvary's soul, who died for our sins according to the scriptures and was buried. He rose again the third day according to the scriptures. You can be sure that Christ is alive and he's risen.
Why? You've just listened to three men tell how they were saved. A dead man cannot save anyone. It takes a living risen Christ to save the sinner. The Lord is risen indeed and has appeared unto Simon.
O soul, you can be sure the Lord is risen. These men have told how they've been saved. I am saved and now 32 years ago in my bedroom on my knees without a bible, not knowing one verse of scripture, I put my faith in the risen son of God and I was saved and I knew I was saved.
O soul, you can be sure that Christ is risen and that's why you can be saved. And he's calling you in the gospel. You can be sure. Believe that. You can be saved. You say there's no, I could never be saved.
You don't know what I've done. I don't care what you've done. Don't tell anyone, don't ever tell anyone what you've done. Don't tell anyone your sin. It's none of their business. It's between you and God.
But remember this soul, you need to be saved from the judgment of God. Due to your sin. But you can be sure you can be saved. Why? For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
You can be sure and you can be saved because Christ is dead. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners and he went to kill every soul and he was wounded for our transgressions and he was bruised for our iniquities and the chastisement of our peace was upon him where the stripes were healed all we like sheep have gone astray we have turned every one to his own way and the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all and God was angry with sin and God sent his son to deal with sin and Christ went to the cross and he bore our sin in his own body on the tree and God made to meet upon him the iniquity of us all and the wrath of God was poured out upon the son of God as he bore sin's heavy load upon the cross and you can be saved, why?
Because Christ has died and been buried and been raised again and there's a living saviour. You can be saved, how? You don't have to give any money to anyone. God's not after your money so you don't have to join the brethren.
You don't have to leave your church. Listen to this verse. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in heaven whosoever gives God the credit for telling the truth the moment you put your faith and trust in the living son of God the one who's at God's right hand in that moment of time so you're saved,.
You can be saved, how? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved to as many as receive him to them give you power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name, God wants to save.
And you can be saved because Christ has died rather has risen again. You can be saved, how? By simply believing the gospel,. You can be saved when? Tomorrow. Tomorrow's sun may never rise to bless thy long deluded sight.
Thou wouldst be saved. Would you be saved so? If you would like to be saved I want to tell you something, you can be saved right now in this meeting,. You can be saved right now in the seat where you sit.
But I want to tell you something, you can't be saved. You can't have salvation on your sin. You can't have salvation on your sin. You cannot go on in your sin and be saved. You can't have Christ and the wickedness of this world as well.
You cannot go on living this sinful wicked life that causes God's anger to burst. You cannot go on so the way you're going the way you were born a sinner. You cannot go on in that pathway practicing the things that enrage God and anger God.
You must repent turn away from your sin and put your faith in Christ. You can't be saved right now. For now's the accepted time. Now's the day of salvation. You can't be sure there's a God. You can't be saved right now.
You can't be satisfied. So I know this and you know it too that sin never satisfied anyone. The pleasures of sin are just for a season but all the pleasures of sin will never satisfy your soul. You can try the drink and the drugs and the immorality.
You can try the fame and the fortune. You can try whatever you like so but I want to tell you, you'll never be satisfied. But try the joys that Christ can give. He satisfies the longing soul. He filleth the hungry with good things.
Now none but Christ can satisfy another name for me. There's love in life and lasting joy Lord Jesus found in thee the moment you put your faith in Christ's soul. You're satisfied, you're saved and you're sure of it and no one ever put his faith in Christ and wasn't saved.
It's an impossibility. It's an impossibility. You can believe a verse and not be saved. You can be baptized and not be saved. You can sit and break bread and not be saved. But you can never put your faith in Christ and not be saved.
He that believeth on the Son hath the promise of God everlasting life. You can be sure, you can be saved, you can be satisfied. But listen to me every one of you, you young people here and you older people and everyone else.
You can be stubborn and you can be sinful and you can just go on. You can reject Christ, you can say no to God. But I want to tell you this, there are consequences for it. If you die in your sin, the Lord Jesus said we've heard it already.
If you die in your sin where I am, you cannot come and there's an awful place of woe and there is a hell where you will go if you die unsaved. My friend, tonight you must be saved. If you're going to escape the judgment of God.
If you're going to escape the lake of fire and the wrath of God eternally. Eternal punishment lies beyond the grave. For those who die without Christ. Thank God tonight. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that if you tonight in this meeting believe in him you will not perish but you'll have everlasting life.
You could be saved tonight.
