I'm Dr. John White, WebMD's Chief Medical Officer and host of the Health Discovered podcast, where we bring you fascinating stories and unique perspectives, like our recent episode on how heart failure can particularly affect women and Black and Hispanic communities.
00:47
We've documented it time and time again. She was young. She was Black. She was a woman.
00:53
No one expected her to look like the face of heart failure. When you don't look like what someone expects, that's going to lead to delays in diagnosis.
01:03
We all have to take this constellation of symptoms, treat it the same each and every time, whether it's a young person, a
01:10
Black person, a woman. If someone presents to me with my heart racing and feeling winded, I need to get an echocardiogram 100 % of the time, regardless.

This is a ministry of striving for eternity. What is YHWH? We sometimes see that.
01:50
Sometimes we see people refer to this as Yahweh, sometimes as Jehovah.
01:56
What is this? It's known as the Tetragrammaton. And from the Greek, tetra meaning four, and grammaton meaning letters, so four letters.
02:06
Now, they could be YHWH, or since there is no Y in the
02:12
Hebrew, it would actually be JHVH, is how it would actually be.
02:18
And so there you end up seeing why people say Jehovah. Some people pronounce this as Yahweh, because they're looking at just the consonants.
02:25
Now remember, in Hebrew, there is no vowels in the writing. So you have to have the vowels spoken to know which vowels are there.
02:33
Well, this term is something we see in Exodus 3, when you end up seeing in verse 14,
02:45
Moses comes to God and says, Who are you? And he says, I am.
02:51
And that is in verse 14. I am that I am.
02:57
That's that four letter word. Well, they don't want to break the second commandment and use his name in vain, so they never pronounce it. They always substitute the word
03:04
Adonai. So where do we get Jehovah from? Jehovah comes from those consonants,
03:10
JHVH, and the vowels from Elohim making the word
03:16
Jehovah. So this is a name that was so sacred in Judaism, they won't even pronounce it.
