Personal Responsibility Before the Glory of God

You are concerned with the glory of God. Now look at the world scene today. We all follow some little news every now and again. But alas, what is our real response to that news? Sometimes I cannot even look at the news.

It's too painful to me. That's how I react. As though I have a personal responsibility. Yes, God gives His children a personal responsibility. Because He has no pleasure in the death of the sinner. He wants us to see as He sees.

Seeing Desolation Through the Risen Christ

You know, we are surveying around us and have got very much used to it that the scene of desolation appears to be normal to us. And we think, oh, this is the usual way of the world. Oh, I can do little about this.

But when we are talking of a risen Christ, a saviour who wants to teach us that all power belongs to Him, we must pray boldly. We need to pray, in a sense, great prayers. We ought to claim great things.

The God of the Impossible

But the shallowness of our faith it seems to negate so much which could be done. No faith. Just a symbol. God is just a two-dimensional picture. A God who is really dependent so much upon me that if I don't dole out a little money, oh, He is going to suffer.

What is this? A pure, heathen idea of God. My God is the God of the impossible. He has appointed to me a kingdom. He has appointed to me a kingdom. Luke chapter twenty-two and the twenty-ninth verse the Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples twenty-two and twenty-nine I appoint unto you a kingdom as my Father has appointed unto me.

Receiving God's Appointment Supernaturally

Now is there no appointment that you have received from God? You know, St. Paul says when God visited him He comforted not with flesh and blood He comforted not with flesh and blood but with a supernatural God.

Now what was your conversion? At what level? Are you conferring merely with flesh and blood? Or are you conferring with God? When God wanted to bring Paul into His appointment when it was His purpose to reveal Christ to Paul He received the message by revelation.

Rejecting Natural Reasoning About God's Power

See, we can reduce everything today to natural reasoning, we think. You know, that's how people seem to feel in the scientific world and in America, for instance. Oh, the President did nothing about Katrina.

That awful cyclone that struck New Orleans Listen, that shows the measure of people's ignorance. You one cannot fight against God. The judgments of God are just. In His Second Presidential Address.
