Good morning, it's always good to be with my church family on a beautiful Sunday morning As most of you know, we've been in the book of Joshua And we're going to be continuing in Joshua chapter 15 this morning.
We're gonna focus specifically on verses 13 through 19 And the title of this message is
Caleb's full inheritance Now if you recall in our previous study in Joshua chapter 15
We examined the extent of God's promised inheritance to the tribe of Judah And we really found this to be a significant really fulfillment of God's promise to Israel We see this in Genesis chapter 15 as well as in Deuteronomy chapter 7
And you know as a tribe Judah's destiny would reach its highest pinnacle with King David Who was a descendant of Judah through Perez and of course in the final analysis?
We find that Old Testament history portrays the tribe of Judah as rising from patriarchal origins
To becoming a leading tribe in the nation of Israel So this particular division of land that we were looking at last week here
It was not the consequence of mere chance nor was it arbitrarily decided by the devices of man
But rather it was a promised inheritance that was established by God's electing grace
In his work entitled the body of divinity Thomas Watson he made the following statement about God's inheritance where he said this
He said when you ponder the inheritance laid up for you The heart is elevated the crown outweighs the weight of the cross you carry
The joy set before you helps you press on And this is what we saw here with Joshua and Caleb and the nation of Israel as they pressed on by God's direction
And laid claim to a promise that was made so long ago You know when you consider
God's view of eternity We find that even before the foundations of the world were set and established even before the promised inheritance
Was even given to Abraham or for that matter even before the boundaries of the tribes of Israel were established
We would find that God the Father and his sovereign decree would choose the people for himself
And contained in our passage this morning here We find ourselves now returning to the exploits of Caleb and of course
We finally see that that he's a patriarch now in Israel. He's now 85 years of age
And in this passage, we're gonna finally see where after years and years of faithfulness
Caleb is being rewarded with the very portion promised to him 45 years earlier
And why was this? Simply put it was because he wholly followed the
Lord his God So now as we consider the next set of verses that we're going to be dealing with this morning here in Joshua chapter 15
Let us now take a look at Caleb's full inheritance Where we will find a detailed account here of what would come of Caleb and his promised inheritance
So let's take a look at the very first point in our message this morning. I'm sorry Let's take a look at our verses first.
That would be a good idea Joshua chapter 15 verses 13 through 19. We'll read through that then move on to our points
Again, bear with me because we do have some names here that are gonna be a little difficult to pronounce. I will work my
Darnedest to get it pronounced, right? now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh He gave a share
Among the children of Judah according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua namely Kierjeth Arba, which is
Hebron Arba was the father of Anak Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak from there, which is she she
Hymen and tell me the children of Anak Then he went up from there to take the inhabitants of the beer formerly the name of the beer was
Kierjeth sephir And Caleb said he who attacks Kierjeth sephir and takes it to him.
I will give Aksa my daughter as wife So off me all the son of Canaz the brother of Caleb.
He took it and he gave him Aksa his daughter as wife Now it was so when she came to him that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field
So she dismounted from her donkey and Caleb said to her. What do you wish?
She answered give me a blessing Since you have given me the land in the south give me also springs of water
So he gave her the upper Springs and the lower Springs So what we just read here in these verses is despite being given a dry an enemy filled territory here
Caleb and his family would not settle for half measures But rather they would not only claim the full promise that was given to them
But they would seek even more which we will address and the following four points of our message this morning
The first point that I would like to go over with you. Is that of a sovereign gift of God's inheritance?
We're gonna see this and the opening verse of our passage this morning This will bring us to a second point where we will see a faith that drives out
Giants This will be seen in Joshua chapter 15 verse 14 This will give way to our third point where we will see this generational imperative here
This will be seen in Joshua chapter 15 Verses 15 through 17 and then this will give us the last point which we will find a bold request
This will be seen in the last two verses of our passage this morning, which is Joshua chapter 15 verses 18 and 19
So now this brings us to the very first point and our message this morning where we see a sovereign gift of inheritance
In Joshua chapter 15 verse 13 We find a bold command that was given to Joshua related to Caleb's promised inheritance
Where we are told that according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua Namely kerjeth
Arba, which is Hebron This was a sovereign gift of inheritance here.
It originated from God and it was conveyed to Caleb alone And as we consider
Caleb's sovereign inheritance here we find two observations now emerging from these verses
One observation that is readily seen. Is that that God's promised inheritance? It was not earned by works
You know when we consider Caleb's promised inheritance We find that it was not the result of his own merit, but rather it was conveyed by God's promise
All the military victories of the world could not have earned him this promised inheritance all of the personal achievements that he would accomplish in his life would matter very little and yet it was his
Understanding of where his inheritance came that would make all the difference in the world
God's promised inheritance it does originate from God Caleb knew this and throughout his life.
He remained cognizant of this point this divine truth And it was this truth that would carry him to victory as he drove the pagan inhabitants out of his land
And when this was accomplished this promised inheritance would become a place of rest as well
Let us not forget by this time here Caleb was Advanced in years. He was in a in the winter season of his life
And I'm sure he was looking forward to that time when that part of God's promise would ultimately come his way
Richard Baxter He was a church leader who lived from November the 12th 1615 till his death on December the 8th 1691
He was an English non -conformist theologian who had a very long and prolific ministry as a theological writer
One such work that he wrote was entitled the Saints everlasting rest Which was published in 1650 and he spoke of the inheritance that we as believers will one day enjoy where he said this for us
He said the Saints everlasting rest is that promised inheritance kept in heaven in Imperishable possession where the soul finds full contentment in God forever
This was certainly the case in the times of Joshua and Caleb And it is the case for us in our present day as well
So in our promised inheritance here, we find many blessings that come our way through Christ We find eternal life.
We are adopted as his children's we will experience the redemption of our bodies We will inherit the kingdom of heaven.
And of course, we will enjoy all the spiritual blessings in heavenly places This inheritance flows directly from the doctrines of sola gratia
Which is grace alone as well as sola fide, which is faith alone We find this proclaimed in the 1689
London Baptist Confession and most of all we find it rooted in Scripture So the promised inheritance now that is given to Caleb here and the salvation that we now enjoy in Christ It is not obtained by works and as such it really should compel us to consider yet another observation here
That is before us where we see the inheritance is granted by divine decree Again in Joshua chapter 15 verse 13
Caleb's promised inheritance here was fixed in eternity by the the same electing grace that chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world
So Caleb's promised inheritance here was granted by God's eternal decree and likewise our salvation originates from God himself and As such we will obtain our inheritance in God's heavenly kingdom by his eternal decree as well my brothers and sisters
God's grace is indeed a gift and not some entitled compensation on our part
In fact in his letter to the church at Rome We find the Apostle Paul telling us in a
Romans chapter 11 verse 6 where he says and if by grace That is no longer of works.
Otherwise grace is no longer grace So what we are looking here is not just some mere land transaction for Caleb But rather it was a promise that was made by God's eternal decree and in this passage
We find this theme of a promised inheritance Which really serves as this foreshadow of the inheritance that we now have in the new covenant as heirs by adoption
We receive our inheritance freely because Christ purchased it fully
It was through his obedience It was through his death and it was through his resurrection that secured our inheritance and not by some of our own personal piety
And of course this is received through faith alone and in Christ alone
Let us not forget that that we contribute nothing to obtain our promised inheritance here We simply rest and what
Christ has already accomplished So in the end This truth here should humble us.
It should squelch any pride that we have in our life It should silence any boasting that may leave our lips and most of all it should magnify the glory of God's grace
So now that we've demonstrated here that God's promised inheritance is granted by his eternal decree
We should now consider how such things apply to our lives as Christians You know
One of the things that we really need to be mindful of here is to stop trying to earn grace that has already been assigned to us by Christ The Apostle Paul stated this quite clearly in his letter to the
Colossians where we find in Colossians chapter 1 verse 12 For the Apostle Paul said giving thanks to the
Father who has qualified us to be Partakers of the inheritance of the
Saints of light Dearly beloved our purpose here on earth. It has meaning it gives us eternal
Hope God orders our steps He instills within us the Holy Spirit by which to guide our journey and he gives us the means to discharge his expectations
These things are driven by faith So let our journey be marked by Steadfast faith as we see here demonstrated in Caleb's life and let us live out
God's promise that started from so long ago Caleb's pursuit of God's promised inheritance.
It wasn't a feel -good easy path Likewise, we find this to be the case for us as well
Anyone who desires to live the Christian life will encounter adversity and tribulation along the way
Each one of us is on a pilgrimage where our inheritance in Christ can be met with apparent contradictions
It may be sometimes prolonged delays Maybe high personal cost is involved and that relentless pain that is oftentimes associated with sanctification
And while God did not hand Caleb this fulfilled promise on a silver silver platter
What God did do was he set up circumstances really that looked humanly impossible on the surface
So, what did he do? God did this in a way because when that inheritance would fully come it would affirm
Caleb's steadfast faith It would reward the journey that Caleb had taken and most of all it would bring glory
To a God who loved him more deeply than he could imagine My brothers and sisters
Let us always remember that living according to his promises means embracing the challenges that do come our way
And when our time comes we too will one day enjoy the blessings of our inheritance
Caleb lived by raw faith rather than by sight and so we too should live in the same manner
This has really been what we see with repeated biographies throughout scripture of every major figure who walked closely with God So let us look to those examples and let us follow them
Now this brings us to another important point of our message this morning as well where we see that a faith that drives out
Giants in Joshua chapter 15 verse 14 We find a victorious faith that drives out
Giants and of course secures this promised inheritance after years of perseverance
And when we consider this passage, we do see some important observations again coming to the forefront here
Again one such observation is where faith and perseverance they do go hand in hand and in Joshua chapter 15 verse 14
Joshua blesses Caleb and he grants this request of his promised inheritance And with that we see another chapter written in Caleb's life story where faith and perseverance go hand in hand a
Little over four decades earlier twelve spies had stood at the edge of Canaan And ten of those spies would ultimately succumb to the fear of the sight of walled cities and Giants These Giants were the descendants of a neck men.
So tall and fierce that the spies felt like mere grasshoppers in their presence But this is where faith and perseverance comes into play
Because Caleb he saw these same Giants. He saw these same walled city
He saw these same fortifications and his faith was unshaken
In fact, he would say let us go up at once and occupy it for we are well able to overcome it because the
Lord is with us and While God would not forget
Caleb's faithfulness he would nonetheless have to preserve him through the same discipline of an entire generation who
Essentially perished in the wilderness because of their lack of belief The Lord promised
Caleb that he would one day enter this land and receive the very hill country that he had once Spied out and this passage, of course is
God making good on his promise So in Joshua chapter 15 verse 14
We see that it's really kind of now bringing us full circle where Judah receives the largest territory
And within Judah's allotment Joshua would give Caleb the city of Hebron Which was a stronghold of the
Antichrites here and at this point now Caleb was 85 years old he was emerging from 40 plus years of discipline for really something that he was not even a guilty participant of and From that experience.
What do we find? We find a man who navigated the wilderness years with faith and perseverance
And when he emerged from this wilderness experience, what would he say? He would say
I am as strong as the day that Moses sent me So Caleb's life here it demonstrates how faith and perseverance do indeed go hand in hand
And of course as he stood before Joshua He would boldly proclaim his promise saying give me this hill country of which the
Lord spoke on that day if the Lord will be with me, I shall drive them out just as the
Lord has said and Then without any fanfare or delay this old warrior would march on Hebron Putting him in direct confrontation with the remaining three sons of a neck
These were the very Giants whose reputation had once paralyzed an entire nation in fear
Yet Caleb did not hesitate because this is what faith does And by the power of the
Lord who kept him alive and strong all of these decades We find now that he drives them out completely
So in the end the land that once terrified ten spies in an entire nation of people
Now rests under the feet of one faithful and persevering man
It's an amazing thing. I would say What unbelief was unable to claim in a generation, of course persevering faith would demonstrate and claim in a single
Military campaign. This is what God does when a man is wholly faithful to God so Caleb's life
It clearly demonstrates how faith and perseverance do go hand in hand
And likewise, we find yet another important observation contained in this verse as well where we see the challenges of life
Should be met by a reliance on God now when you think about This concept of relying on God.
I could tell you that it is oftentimes easier said than done And this is because really a reliance on God is driven by faith.
It's oftentimes Something that takes us to a place of challenge and uncertainty Simply put a reliance on God Really is one that strengthens our faith.
And of course a mature faith is the consequence of a life Experience that relies on God so both of these things feed in to one another
You know when you think about Caleb's promised inheritance here We find that it would be an inheritance that would require perseverance and a total reliance on God There were strong warriors standing in his way
There were well for fortified cities that were standing in the way and then we had the Anakim who still occupied
Caleb's inheritance and these were the very Giants that had caused the nation of Israel to tremble in unbelief
So Caleb's challenges here were great and his inheritance could not be obtained apart from a total reliance on God But one thing that Caleb had doing for him and that is that he understood that victory would become
His way because the battle is the Lord's And we covered a lot here with Caleb And when you look at Joshua chapter 15 verse 14, we not only see a faith -driven warrior here obtaining an inheritance
But we also clearly see that the perseverance of the Saints is not a passive endeavor
It essentially requires an act of faith in the face of adversity and tribulation
In short it requires a total reliance on God So this should prompt us to ask this question here as it relates to Caleb How could
Caleb develop such a deep reliance on God so much so that he was willing to take on such a daunting challenge?
And I believe that we really have to take a look at the man His life and most of all the relationship he had with God to find this answer
You know if we were to look back the Lord had declared 45 years earlier that Caleb would in fact inherit
Hebron And during that time Caleb would bear witness to human weakness He would bear witness to wilderness wanderings.
And of course, he would bear witness to enemy Giants all Understanding that none of these things could invalidate
God's promise You know when you consider Caleb's long life and undiminished strength
These were the conditions that were predicated on God's sustaining grace In his first epistle
The Apostle Peter he proclaimed that God is one who keeps his own where he said this in 1st
Peter chapter 1 verses 3 through 5 Peter says blessed be the
God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ Who according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope?
Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead now focus in here to an inheritance
Incorruptible and undefiled that does not fade away reserved in heaven for you
Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time?
so inheritance is relevant in the times in which we live and What we see here in the life of Caleb as well as what we're seeing here
Recorded for us and first Peter is this beautiful type of believers perseverance not because we ourselves are strong But because God who chose us is faithful Those are truly those who are truly united in Christ here.
I'm here to tell you will endure Not because of their grip on God, but because of God's grip on them in chapter 17 of the 1689
London Baptist Confession We are told the following here It says even though many storms and floods rise and beat against them referring to believers here
Yet these things will never be able to move the elect from the foundation and the rock to which they are anchored by faith
So this provides us with this wonderful testament here of what it means to rely on God And as such we should be compelled to examine our own lives as well
You know as Christians we possess a different spirit here a spirit that runs counterculture
This is a spirit that is a wholehearted spirit a Persevering spirit and one that refuses to leave
Giants standing in the land that the Savior has already won for us This is what the gospel is
Caleb once proclaimed if the Lord is with us. Let us go up at once You know, we need to understand that a reliance on God comes with an obligation to embrace a faith that acts
God comes, of course to us understanding that hate Adversity will come our way
Tribulation will come our way but a reliance on God is even greater Let us not forget that Caleb here.
He did not sit in Hebron and wait for the Giants to leave What did he do? He went out and he drove them out.
So faith must be active Let us not forget that the same spirit who preserves us also works in us
In his letter to the Philippians the Apostle Paul spoke to this in Philippians chapter 2 verse 13 where he said for it is
God Who works in you both to will and to do his good pleasure here? So just as the
Antichrist represented this daunting challenge standing between Caleb and his promised inheritance
So too do we have daunting challenges and the heart of us as believers Such challenges as indwelling sin or stubborn pride or unbelief or lust or fear all these things stand before us
They're at war against us. And yet how many times do we mistakenly believe that we conquer such things on our own accord?
My brothers and sisters We do not conquer them in our own power Neither do we ignore them?
In chapter 16 of the London Baptist Confession again, we're told that true sanctification it involves the daily mortification of sin through the word through prayer through the means of grace and the fellowship of the local church
Like Caleb would boldly say the Lord is helping me. I will drive them out
So let us keep the words of Caleb in mind here and the course of the life that we leave
Let us identify those daunting challenges that come our way and let us drive them out
Not in our own strength rather but by the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead
Now this brings us to yet another important point here We're I would like to talk to you about a generational imperative here because when you look at this passage of scripture
You're gonna see really kind of a minor pass off on this inherited promise from one generation to the next
You know a while back our men's fellowship group We found ourselves discussing the importance of fellowship here and what it means to the vitality of our church here
You see the vision of the church is shaped by this intergenerational fellowship, and it's not some mundane tradition
But rather it is a covenantal necessity rooted in how God works through families and generations within our own church body
And in Joshua chapter 15 verses 15 through 17 We see this clearly illustrated in the life and the times of Caleb where his inheritance would become the reward of a courageous faith to the next generation
One such observation that comes to mind here is we see a wholehearted devotion at any age
In Joshua chapter 15 verses 15 and 16 here We find this picture of Caleb who's now in the winter season of his life
Now Caleb was not a youthful upstart, but rather he was an elderly saint, but still ready for battle
And though he was ready for battle we find that Caleb was now looking to an ensuing generation to play a part in seizing
God's promised inheritance here and His first letter to his protege
Timothy the Apostle Paul Challenged him saying in 1st Timothy chapter 4 verse 12
Let no one despise your youth But be an example to believers in word in conduct in love in spirit in faith in purity
So that's my message to you youngsters out there this morning For those of us who find themselves in the later seasons of life
Let us remember that there is a generational imperative to the life in which we lead
Just as there was a generational imperative with God's promised inheritance here with Caleb We find the same is in case the same for us today
You know a while back. I was having a deeply personal conversation with my own daughter Heather When we started talking about how her old dad was doing and how he was taking care of himself in the winter season of his life
And I remember telling her that this season was one of humility one of reflecting on God's record of faithfulness
And how it was my sincere desire to finish strong It also in that conversation
I recrowned and some of the many Lessons that I had learned over the years where I told her about the
Christian life and how it should not become passive with age For there is no such thing as a spiritual retirement plan in the
Christian life. That is until they close the lid on your casket Thus whether you are a child or a teenager or a young adult or someone that is newly married or someone?
That's got an established family or maybe someone that's old as Caleb who was 85 years of age in this passage of Scripture I'm here to tell you that we should claim for this inheritance and we should fight for it as well
And let us be mindful of the steps whose follows ours Let us not forget that the
God who kept Caleb strong is the same God who will really empower us present -day believers
Making us faultless before his glory with great joy Now another aspect of this generational imperative here is what we see is in Othniel's victory in Joshua chapter 15 verses 16 and 17
Now we see that Caleb proclaimed a public challenge where he said he says whoever strikes a careth suffer
And make takes it. I will give Aksa my daughter as wife And also found in these verses we find
Othniel now the son of Canaas. He would rise up He would capture the city that Caleb had promised as a public challenge and with that he would receive both land and wife
In his expository commentary on the book of Joshua David Reimer. He described
Othniel now in the following manner He said in any event Othniel rises to the challenge and is given
Aksa as his wife He is the son of Canaas the brother of Caleb and seems to be made of the same stuff in terms of military prowess
But also in his devotion to the Lord as his exemplary Judgeship implies in Judges chapter 3 verses 9 and 10
So you see this generational imperative here? Caleb who was with that wilderness wandering generation
Part of the conquering promised land here in Canaan. And now you see a generational transition taking place with Othniel You know
One of the things that you see in godly leadership is that it does multiply faith and we should nurture this condition in our church body as well
Godly leadership should multiply faith within the covenant community And this is what
I encouraged and so encouraged as an elder when I see young men in our congregation
Heeding the call to ministry and rising up and responded to their duty to God Dearly beloved this is covenant headship in action
For fathers and leaders model and reward faith and as such we find some important applications for us as well
You know as christians we live in a covenant which really crosses generations
And this is the promise that we have under the new covenant that god begs not only to individuals but to households and descendants as well
Let us not forget that when god established his covenant with abraham in the book of generation of genesis
What did he say? He said I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations
Therefore as a church family, we do need to think generationally And not merely from the standpoint of our own individualism
Faith is not meant to be isolated with one age group here But rather it is nurtured by parents and grandparents and spiritual elders who are compelled to testify to the faithfulness of god over time
We find the same We find this same tradition also spoken about in confessions like the westminster confession of faith
Which describes the church family as a covenant family and under this covenant family younger believers
They gain wisdom and stability from older saints while older believers are reminded of god's renewing work through the faith and the questions of these younger generations
So there's this symbiotic relationship here intergenerationally within the body of christ so older saints
They should embody endurance and resilience The middle generations they carry responsibility and labor
Younger believers will bring vitality and questions and hope And all together we find that they form a living testimony of god's grace across the landscape of time so in the end
What do we find here? We find god's covenant it works through generations. We find that the church is the covenant household of god
Faith, of course is to be transmitted through living witness generationally speaking The communion of saints includes all ages not just one age group
And the church today reflects the eternal people of god So this generational imperative here that is seen in joshua here
Is also an expectation in the present day and in the modern day church, this is not optional
This is how the covenant community should live This is how it remembers its history of god's faithfulness
And this is how it endures together So let us raise our children and disciple the next generation to be bold conquerors and not cultural
Compromisers and let the family altar and the local church be the place where we equip our younger generation for spiritual warfare
Let us always cling to god's promises here Whether it be healing or the restoration of a lost relationship or the provision
During maybe financial distress or maybe fruitfulness in ministry Or perhaps the deliverance from a besetting sin or the salvation of a loved one
Or simply a peace That surpasses all understanding When anxiety comes our way
Amen For in the end god has given us an inheritance that is eternal and it cannot be altered by the devices or the desires of mankind
It is not beholden to the dictates of popular culture. So let us live accordingly
Now with all that said I would like to cover one last point if I may And that is where we find a bold request
In joshua chapter 15 verses 18 and 19 We find the story of axa now coming to the forefront here in our closing verses in this passage
And just like we saw in the case of rahab many chapters before in the book of joshua
We find that axa takes on an active and an even bold role And is not content to remain passive And from these last verses we find two final observations that I would like to close out this message with this morning
The first of which she demonstrates a request with foresight axa may have been a lot younger
But she did indeed have foresight And when you consider this bold request in these last two verses in our passage here
We find this keen insight, which she took into account. She understood the need for a sustainable provision here
She looked ahead at her family and of course her future generations And of course early on she's seen his servant her husband often quite well
You know when you look at the land holdings of othniel's possession here It would have been inadequate for productive or arable land here
Aksa, she saw this and that is why she made her bold request She asked to be given springs of water
Which would ensure that the possession that she and othniel would share would contain the means to flourish
And just as we saw with rahab where she sought a future not just for herself, but also her family
So too do we see here with aksa who saw a shortcoming in the land that had been given
She respectfully sought to remediate that condition rather than ignoring the blind spot
Caleb for his part would respond generously by providing two springs of water in response to her bold intervention
So like the father we see the characteristics of the daughter here And of course as a result the family would be moving with a blessing moving forward
One last thing that she did also request was a full supply of grace And I want to develop this point a little bit further here
This is found in the last verse of joshua chapter 15 verse 19 where aksa
She literally dismounts and she made her request saying look give me a blessing. Give me also springs of water
And then caleb grants the upper springs and the lower springs And therein we find that she requested a a full supply of grace because what she requested here is she had the dry land of the geb
Of course, and it needed a source of sustaining water And this really illustrates how god will never give us an inheritance without also giving us the means by which to enjoy that inheritance so aksa's request
It really draws for us a picture of the believer who has the privilege of being able to boldly go before the throne of grace
We see the same principle in hebrews chapter 4 verse 16 Where the writer says let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace in our time of need
So let us come boldly here before the throne of grace Not asking out of presumption but rather out of a familial confidence that we have in our adopted father
Let us not forget that the same sovereign god who gave off neil and aksa The land along with the springs of sustaining water is the same god who delights and given us a full supply of grace
Through the spirit who makes our inheritance fruitful as well Now this brings us to one final application here
As I close out our message You know as k when we considered caleb and the received inheritance that he got
We see that it was received by sovereign grace It was conquered by a persevering faith
We find that it exhibited a courage to a next generation And it even encouraged a bold request by his daughter who was asking for every needed blessing
So there's much to learn here You know as christians we need to understand that each of these principles
We need to frequently remind ourselves of these principles and of course live ourselves accordingly
We need to make sure that god is the one that he's the one that sovereignly gives us the inheritance We need to recognize that it's not a matter of what we do on our own merit
He is the one that empowers us to prevail over adversity Of from sin by faith and of course he allows us to experience eternal blessings and hope
This is what a full supply of grace looks like For those of us who are in christ our inheritance.
It's already complete And like caleb and exa let us drive out these giant challenges that may come our way
Let us disciple the next generation in courage and in truth Let us make sure that we come daily to our father asking for a full supply of his grace
And these will be the things that bring meaning to our life Which one day we should live boldly for christ
Let's pray Our heavenly father lord, I would like to thank you so much for your word your living word
Lord, you just opened up so much truth to us this morning Lord let us be mindful of our personal relationship that's grounded in a
Steadfast faith or that's grounded in an unshakable spirit or let us dedicate ourselves to Your promise to holy living with an eye on your inheritance
Let us rely on you in all things Let us invest in the generation who follows our steps let us equip them for the days ahead
Dear heavenly father. Thank you so much for the opportunity To come together as a body of believers
To open your word To behold your glory And we're to be blessed by your majesty
